Me: Hey, I finished that dress I've been planning to make since last May.
My mother, silently grateful my first summer dress of the year is not covered in manic cartoon animals: Oh that looks lovely... Though don't you think you put a bit much fabric into your skirt? You could have used half and had enough left for a second dress.
Me: It's more comfortable this way. Not as clingy. And it's cut to be low waste, so you get a lot of bang for your buck.
Mom: ... How much is in there?
Me: Only like 4 meters.
Mom: Of a low waste pattern.
Me: Yup.
Mom: Give me one reason you need that much "bang for your buck".
Me:

When in Drakovia, dress as the Drakovians.
I actually loved the MC's dress, so I wanted to make an edit of my Isolde in it. And I gave Trystan a different suit too (an edited version of male MC's outfit, actually), so now they match.
Headcanons: Isolde herself is not the biggest fan of gowns usually. Mainly because they can be uncomfortable to fight in and have no pockets to stuff her detective-y trinkets in (I’m talking a pocketknife, covert camera and voice recorder, basic first aid tools and meds, matches, a duct tape... the list goes on). I imagine her grumbling as she puts on the dress, ‘Things I do for you, Trystan…’ And he quips back something like, 'I won't let your sacrifice be in vain!' But they are both just being overdramatic for the bit.

the thing is . even if jodies outfit was more feminine nobody would care if a male doctor regenerated into it.... like thats part of doctor who everyone knows that.... but jodies outfit isnt feminine at all . its gender neutral for a reason ?? she chose it with that in mind and tbh she could very well be upset by that fact

long work day today but in my heart of hearts i'm drawing chine in a dress having a great time, because, gender i guess.
no alterations to their appearance otherwise, maybe somebody's convinced them to wash their hair, but only for the sensory experience of having some bounce to it afterwards, y'know?
i just..am ruminating on how good it feels to be so incongruous with people's expectations without any fear at all? or more, even, with the sense of power that comes from frightening cis people when you yourself are confident in your safety?
not even a hint of chine being embarrassed about it, just straight to the joy - slap a few flowers in their shitty beard and dare somebody to say something <3

my mom loves to Know A Thing From The Internet related to her children's interests/health conditions (vonnego on a walk anon, she has had me retell that joke to every friend and family member she can get her hands on).
Like, there is no spoon theory in this family. I saw the chance for an analogy she got instinctively, so it's bones theory now bc of a dog on instagram. all the granddaughters on her side of the family are disabled (sexist dna smh) and we have matching No Bones sweatshirts now
this is just to say. i am now in possession. of a dress with autism creature embroidered on the front :3

Old drawings for a dress contest on dA. Ice & Fire themed because I was obsessed with it at the time
I cleaned them up a bit but can't do much about the crusty paper marks without erasing the details.

Got ready too early because I don't want to look TOO nice, let's not set a precedent that I will be wearing a full face of makeup daily, so now I'm just. Waiting. In my house. Aimlessly floating around.
