On Saturday 5 February 2022, HRH Crown Princess Mary turns 50 years old. The Crown Princess’ 50th birthday will be marked with a series of events in early February - including the opening of two new exhibitions on the Crown Princess' life and work and a gala dinner at Rosenborg Castle.
The official program for the Crown Princess' birthday includes the following events:
27 January - The Mary Foundation invites partners and networks to a celebration of the round birthday and the Crown Princess' efforts as chairman of the Mary Foundation.
31 January - The opening of the exhibition 'Mary and the Crown Princesses' at Koldinghus in Kolding. The exhibition draws a portrait of the Crown Princess and the Crown Princess' predecessors in the history of the Glücksborg family and focuses on the task and opportunities that lie in being a Crown Princess.
3 February - At the National History Museum at Frederiksborg Castle, the Crown Princess will be present at the opening of the exhibition 'HRH Crown Princess Mary 1972 - 2022', which tells about the Crown Princess' personal history and significance for the Danish Royal House and the Commonwealth through pictures, portraits, costumes and personal items. In connection with the exhibition opening, a new portrait of Her Royal Highness will be unveiled.
4 February - A gala dinner at Rosenborg Castle on the occasion of the Crown Princess' birthday. HM The Queen hosts the tablet, where the royal family and representatives of official Denmark participate.
Other events related to the 50th birthday will be announced later. A theme page has been created on the Royal House's website with information about the events in connection with the Crown Princess' round birthday.
