100 Faces Meme
Hey peeps!
I was bored one day , so I decided to dig into my iPad for challenges I screenshotted, and found MagicalPouch’s 100 Faces Meme!
So I asked my Instagram for faces & characters and voila! Here we are <3
I tried to limit these drawings to about an hour, and it was pretty fun to just make some quick expressions without needing to worry about poses or backgrounds. I also think I learned that looser, quicker drawings can still look good! And, as a perfectionist, that’s something I could always need
So yeah!
People really like having Ruby suffer, huh?

Hi Sugar!
I was reading your analysis of the five couples you see as endgame (this one here) and I really enjoyed it! But I was wondering; how do you think that Pyrrha plays a role in Jaune and Weiss's relationship? Is it something like Cinder or something unique, or maybe nothing at all?
Hi,
thank you so much for this ask! I really really love White Knight, so asks on its structure and thematic meaning are welcome!
So, Pyrrha is 100% important, as it is Ruby. They both are key for Weiss and Jaune's relationship. Of course, I am headcanoning WK is gonna be endgame. However, even if this isn't the case, I think many of the things below will still hold true in a platonic sense :)
Tumblr media
TRIANGLES
Let's consider these two scenes:
Tumblr media Tumblr media
What do they have in common?
They focus on Weiss and Jaune
They involve a dynamic among three characters
They deal with the choice of a partner
Both Jaune and Weiss have a specific partner in mind. Jaune wants Weiss, while Weiss wants Pyrrha. However, the end results are different from what they expect. Weiss finds Ruby, while Jaune is chosen by Pyrrha.
Why is that so? It is a case of want vs need. Here is an extract from the above linked meta:
By this point Weiss and Jaune are pursuing a superficial dream of heroes and monsters. They figure their most perfected selves beside the "right" patner.
On the one hand Weiss wants Pyrrha to be the "knight" to her "princess":
Weiss: This will be perfect! The smartest girl in class combined with the strongest girl in class! Together we will be unstoppable!
She wants someone strong (body) that complements her intelligence (mind). She thinks that in this way she can't fail.
On the other hand Jaune wants Weiss to be the "princess" to his "knight":
Jaune: Don't worry! No need to be embarrassed! So, been hearing rumors about teams! I was thinking you and me would make a good one! What do you say?
He wants someone who is beautiful and looks frail, so he can protect her. He thinks in this way he can appear strong.
Both are wrong obviously. This is why they end up with respectively Ruby and Pyrrha as partners.
Weiss needs to realize what complements mind is not body, but heart. This is why she is paired with Ruby, who lacks physical strength, but has more than enough heart to guide Weiss. Throughout the initiation, Weiss herself has to act as a Knight by saving Ruby from the Nevermore. And later on, she needs to follow Ruby's plan (so Ruby's mind) to take down the Grimm and pass the trial.
Jaune needs to realize a real knight is not physically strong, but is wise (mind) and brave (heart). This is why he ends up with Pyrrha, who is both and challenges him in two different ways. She doesn't fit feminine stereotypes and sees Jaune's value not in his superficial traits, but rather in his willingness to help. Throughout the initiation, Jaune shows this by staying behind to lead others into kiling the Grimm.
In short, Jaune wants Weiss, but needs Pyrrha, while Weiss wants Pyrrha, but needs Ruby. Let's make two considerations:
1- WK is built on "triangles". A triangle is a trope where one character wants another, but this other wants a third person, who is instead interested in the first. This is obvious in Weiss, Jaune and Pyrrha's dynamic. Weiss wants Pyrrha, who wants Jaune, who wants Weiss. The song Dream Come True strengthens this idea, as Pyrrha sings to Jaune, while throwing shades at Weiss.
Obviously, the triangle is quickly solved. Weiss warms up to Ruby as her partner and Jaune gives up on Weiss and falls for Pyrrha.
Still, this early setting is important. As a matter of fact RWBY plays with romantic archetypes in its ships. Two examples:
Renora deconstructs and reconstructs the childhood friend to lover trope. Usually, there is a character, who falls first and supports the other, until their love is reciprocated. Here, though, Nora eventually realizes that to stay with Ren, she needs to grow as her own person. Both partners need to change, so that their dynamic can transform.
Bumbleby uses a harem to explore Blake's developing interiority and animus. Each one of Blake's love interests tie into her sexuality, inner maturity and fairy tale symbolism. By going through Blake's "harem", we get many different relationships that help Blake explore herself, until she is ready for Yang.
In short, RWBY gets inspiration from love tropes, but it makes them thematic. The same can be said about WK and triangles. The point isn't that W,J and P or W, J and R are in romantic triangles, but rather that these characters make 2 thematic trios. In other words, Pyrrha and Ruby foil Weiss and Jaune and are both important for their relationship. Similarly, Weiss and Jaune's bond is key for their respective dynamics with Ruby and Pyrrha.
2- Weiss and Jaune's want vs need struggle applies to more than just the choice of a partner. It actually defines their whole arcs.
Weiss wants to honor her family legacy, but needs to define herself outside the Schnees. Jaune wants to be a strong hero, but needs to love himself for who he is. That said, Weiss and Jaune will both realize their early want. Weiss is gonna define a new legacy for the Schnee Family. It is just that the SDC is no more a part of it. Jaune is gonna bloom into a hero. It is just that true heroes are not always the strongest. Both are getting their want, but in an unforeseen way.
The same holds true for their preferred partners. Weiss is getting Pyrrha (yes, really) and Jaune is getting Weiss. Confused? No worries, it will all be clear in a minute ;) For now, let's analyze both Whiterose and Arkos and what they mean for White Knight.
WHITEROSE - HUNTRESSES
Tumblr media
Weiss and Ruby are each other's "hunting" partners. They fight side by side to save lives and pursue the same dream of becoming Huntresses. This is the thematic heart of their relationship, which is mirrored in their intertwined allusions. As a matter of fact there is a Hunter in both Snowhite and Little Red Riding Hood.
On the one hand Snowhite's Hunter is weak. He wants to help Snowhite, but all he can do is not to kill the princess and to leave her alone in the woods. On the other hand Little Red Riding Hood's Hunter is the hero of the fairy tale. He kills the wolf and saves the protagonist and her grandmother. What does it mean for Whiterose?
It ties in how Ruby inspires Weiss. Let's consider this scene:
Ruby: Weiss! Go for its belly! There's no armor underneath...
Tumblr media
In the fairy tale, the Hunter kills a boar to help Snowhite. It is his one good deed. Similarly, Weiss kills a Boarbatusk with Ruby's help to act as a true Huntress. This is why the Grimm later on becomes an avatar symbolic of Weiss's Huntress side:
Port after Weiss kills the Boarbatusk: Bravo! Bra-vo! It appears we are indeed in the presence of a true Huntress-in-training!
Weiss in the aftermath of the party where she summons the Boarbatusk for the first time: The Schnee family legacy isn't yours to leave. It's mine, and I'll do it as a Huntress.
The metaphor is clear. Ruby (LRRH's Hunter) inspires Weiss (SW's Hunter) to grow into a hero. She leads Weiss towards a better version of herself:
Weiss: Just know that I am going to be the best teammate you'll ever have!
This is the perfect set-up for Weiss to eventually inspire Ruby back. For her to become the Huntress who saves Little Red Riding Hood:
Weiss: I don’t know who you think you are, but let me tell you who I am: I am the granddaughter of a hero and a child of a villain. I am a citizen of a fallen Kingdom and an heir to nothing. I will not be defined by my name because I will be the one to define it. I am Weiss Schnee, and I am a Huntress!
Past Ruby: So, are you a Huntress? Like the ones you read about in books? Ruby: I… I don’t know…
Volume 9 offers Weiss a perfect chance. Ruby is lost and is eventually eaten by two Big Bad Wolves (Neo and the Curious Cat). However, Weiss fails:
Ruby: Don’t worry. We’ll find a way outta here and we’ll go back home. Weiss? Weiss: It's… It’s all gone… There’s nothing left for me to go back to… Just like Beacon… Ruby: You did the best you could for Atlas, Weiss. Weiss: But it wasn't enough! We hatched a crazy plan that put a whole kingdom at risk, and we don't even know if we saved the Relics from… Maybe… Jaune and Winter were able to get them out, despite… everything… despite us…
Several times Ruby notices Weiss's pain and tries to comfort her. Several times Ruby is similarly struggling, but Weiss can't support her. Weiss herself explains why:
Weiss: Maybe she didn’t feel like she could… Ruby has always been the one to get us through the hard times. We say things like “We believe in you”, “We can count on you”. I know we mean well, but…
Weiss idealizes Ruby too much and downgrades herself. She thinks Ruby can lead them all, but Weiss has actually grown enough to guide others too. She shows it by helping Jaune:
Weiss: I think you’re asking too much of yourself. We’ve been telling ourselves that failing means we’re no good. But I can guarantee even the best Huntsmen in history… they’ve all lost. But they were still incredibly brave… and good.
Weiss's speech here is an inversion of her initial dialogue with Ruby. There she feels her best is not enough and she drowns in self-hate. Here, she realizes that even if she and her friends lose, they are still good people.
It is a game of mirrors. She fails to see Ruby because she can't help herself. She sees Jaune and saves herself by helping him.
In short, Weiss fails with Ruby, but succeeds with Jaune. I think this is key for Weiss, Ruby and Jaune's dynamic.
At Beacon, Weiss is too immature for Pyrrha and doesn't see Jaune as a romantic partner. She needs Ruby to grow as a person.
In the Ever After, Weiss depends on Ruby too much and needs Jaune (who is Pyrrha's legacy) to develop.
So, she grows with Ruby until she and Jaune are ready for each other. Now, her bond with Jaune is helping her to bloom in the friend Ruby needs. It is a virtuous cycle where both Ruby and Jaune help Weiss mature, so that she can be the best partner ever. Platonic for Ruby and romantic for Jaune (imo).
If this turns out true, then Weiss's Nevermore might be tied to both Ruby and Jaune (other than to her team and family).
It is already strongly associated with Ruby, as team RWBY killed the Grimm together. Moreover, Weiss first tries to summon it to save her partner:
Tumblr media
Later on, she materializes its wings while fighting with her team minus Ruby:
Tumblr media
And eventually conjures the whole thing, as Ruby comes back:
Tumblr media
It is possible the Nevetrmore will be linked to Jaune, as well. After all, he is the one who calls Weiss "Snow Angel". The Grimm is meant to show that Weiss can indeed be an angel to others:
Tumblr media
Ruby and Jaune are equally important for Weiss. She needs Ruby to end up with Jaune and she needs Jaune to be the Huntress Ruby deserves. At the same time, Ruby and Jaune represent two sides of Pyrrha, the partner Weiss initially wants.
I usually don't use spinoffs, but I think Ice Queendom makes it pretty clear:
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Weiss looks at Pyrrha in awe, but the ones she needs are Ruby and Jaune.
Ruby is a paragon, just like Pyrrha. She has both mind and heart, like our Achilles. The main difference is that Ruby is younger, so she lacks experience and fighting prowess. Weiss needs Ruby for 2 reasons:
She needs to reconcile with her inner-child that has been suppressed by Jacques's abuse:
Weiss: I always wanted bunk beds as a kid.
She needs to see what's important is the heart (Ruby's idealism) and not the body (Pyrrha's fighting skills).
What about Jaune? In which way is he Weiss's Pyrrha? Let's discover it.
ARKOS - ANIMA
Tumblr media
Pyrrha is Jaune's partner and his love interest. She is also the key character of Jaune's story, as his allusion makes clear. Jeanne d'Arc is a maid whose actions are inspired by God. Similarly, Jaune is a knight able to perform miracles:
Tumblr media
Whose hands and resolve are guided by his Goddess:
Jaune: No. I don't think I'm healing her. Our Aura heals our bodies. It feels… it feels more like I'm using my Aura to amplify hers! Nora: Wait, aren't you worried about running out? Jaune: Pyrrha once told me I've got a lot of it. I still believe her.
Pyrrha is Jaune's deity and inspiration:
Pyrrha: For it is in passing that we achieve immortality. Through this, we become a paragon of virtue and glory to rise above all. Infinite in distance and unbound by death, I release your soul, and by my shoulder, protect thee.
So, Jaune's arc is about:
becoming like Pyrrha
overcoming Pyrrha's death
Still, how can Jaune become like Pyrrha, while leaving her behind? Aren't these 2 objectives contradictory? Only superficially. What Jaune must do is to integrate with his anima. In Jungian Psychology, the anima is the feminine part of a man. It is a side, which is often suppressed, but that needs to come to light for the man to truly mature into a balanced person. A person, who can have positive and healthy romantic relationships.
This is the crux of Jaune's character. He is inspired by Jeanne because she is both maid and knight. Similarly, Jaune must transform into a knight, who is also a maiden. A hero who overcomes his toxic masculinity by accepting his feminine parts. The only way for him to succeed is to integrate with his anima, who is represented by Pyrrha. From the first meta linked:
Jaune's journey through the anima is well conveyed through 4 stages, which stand for archetypical female figures. Each one represents a different level of maturity:
Eve is the mother - The boy has no romantic attachment and sees the woman as a source of protection and nourishment
Helen is the seductress - The boy feels romantic attraction and sees the woman as a talented individual, but pays no attention to her spiritual or inner life
Mary is the virgin - The boy feels mature love and sees the woman as a paragon of virtue, but pays no attention to her negative traits
Sophia is wisdom - The boy is ready for a relationship with a woman as an equal partner and sees the feminine as a source of wisdom with no need to objectify the woman anymore
These phases describe Jaune's general approach to women and how it changes. He arrives at Beacon looking for a girlfriend because that is what a man should do, which in itself is a very childish behavior. Then he grows to see the girls around him as powerful individuals, but he can't go behind the surface. This is true for Weiss, but also for Pyrrha, whose struggles he ignores. After her death, Pyrrha becomes an ideal, but she isn't the only one. For example, Jaune believes Weiss and Ruby can save Pyrrha from Cinder and later on he keeps idealizing them. In volume 9, he learns to let go of his idealization and to see others as their own people. He is stepping into Sophia (wisdom).
Pyrrha is Jaune's anima in the sense she represents the feminine side Jaune needs to acquire. At the same time, the way Jaune's relationship with Pyrrha changes highlights the boy's maturation:
Eve > Jaune is nurtered and protected by Pyrrha to the point he even compares her to his mother:
Jaune: Bring it on, Ice Queen! I'll have you know that I have been told that I am a natural born leader! Weiss: By who? Your mother? Jaune: A-and Pyrrha! Pyrrha: Hello again!
He feels no attraction towards her.
Hellen > Jaune grows attracted to Pyrrha, but struggles to understand her interiority. For example, he is unable to see her feelings for him or to fully grasp her inner conflict about the Maiden powers:
Pyrrha: I don't know if I can do it. Jaune: Of course you can. The Pyrrha Nikos I know would never back down from a challenge. And if you really believe it's your destiny to save the world… you can't let anything stand in your way. Despite Jaune's intentions, this doesn't bring relief. Instead, Pyrrha looks absolutely shattered, covering her mouth as she begins to sob.
Mary > Jaune idealizes Pyrrha and sees her as a paragon of heroism and virtue. He tries to emulate her and to become a hero like her:
Jaune: I think… I think she knew she wasn't going to win. That she might not come out alive. But… she also knew she was the only one that could try. Ren: So she did. Nora: Maybe we should too. Jaune: Yeah, we should.
This idealization is heartwarming, but it's what's keeping Jaune stuck. He can never overcome Pyrrha's death if he transforms her into an idol. Not only that, but it is something Pyrrha herself would not have wanted:
Pyrrha: I've been blessed with incredible talents and opportunities. I'm constantly surrounded by love and praise, but when you're placed on a pedestal like that for so long, you become separated from the people that put you there in the first place. Everyone assumes I'm too good for them. That I'm on a level they simply can't attain. It's become impossible to form any sort of meaningful relationship with people. That's what I like about you. When we met, you didn't even know my name. You treated me just like anyone else. And thanks to you, I've made friendships that will last a lifetime. I guess, you're the kind of guy I wish I was here with. Someone who just saw me for me.
Pyrrha is drawn to Jaune because he is the only one who does not put her on a pedestal. However, after her death, this is what our Knight does to an extent. So, a good resolutioin would be for Jaune to see Pyrrha for who she is. A brave girl Jaune loves and who dies too soon. This is the only way Jaune can forgive both Pyrrha and himself. This is where Weiss (Sophia or Wisdom) steps in:
Curious Cat: I am talking about you, Wise Huntress.
Let's compare these 2 scenes:
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Both have Jaune struggling with grief and self-hate. In the first one, he has just lashed out at Oscar out of anger for Pyrrha's death. In the second one, he has just lashed out at Ruby out of anger for the paper pleasers ascending. Both times, he is doubting himself. Both times, a woman comes and reassures him. The first time, Pyrrha's mother/ghost/vision encourages him to keep going. The second time, Weiss encourages him to let go. Both scenes end with a family like re-union (team JNR and team RWBY).
Not to count there are mystical leaves flying around:
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Someone coming back in an unexpected form:
Tumblr media Tumblr media
And a giant stone:
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Both situations emphasize that even the best heroes fail. Still, they give this lesson a different spin. Pyrrha teaches Jaune the importance of going on despite the risk of failure. Weiss teaches Jaune the necessity of forgiving one-self for failure. Pyrrha acts as Mary and guides Jaune towards an ideal. Weiss acts as Sophia and leads Jaune towards his real self.
The final stage of the anima is about seeing one-self and the other clearly, both strengths and weaknesses. The romantic partner stops being objectified and is simply accepted as their own person. So, Jaune's final step towards self-actualization will be to let go of Pyrrha's idealized memory and to embrace Weiss, for whom she really is. This conclusion would be perfect for his bond with both girls:
Jaune would overcome Pyrrha's death by stopping his idealization of her. He would put Pyrrha down from her pedestal and love the girl in all her beauty and contradictions. He would finally be able to understand her fully, which is what he fails to do at Beacon.
Jaune would love Weiss for her true self, instead than her superficial beauty. He would appreciate the girl because she shares some of Pyrrha's best qualities, like her bravery and her heart, which is that of a Huntress. He would accept some of Weiss's most masculine traits, that he initially ignores.
In other words:
Jaune needs to mature by Pyrrha's side to be ready for Weiss
Jaune needs Weiss's help to face the memory of Pyrrha properly
As a matter of fact only by seeing Pyrrha clearly, Jaune can fully integrate with her, which means he can fully bloom into a hero like Pyrrha. Not only that, but he can succeed, where Pyrrha fails. What are Pyrrha's 2 objectives?
Pyrrha: I've always felt as though I was destined to become a Huntress - to protect the world
Nothing, even death Could separate our souls 'Cause you're my final goal
Pyrrha's 2 destinies are to be a hero and to be in love. She fulfills them both tragically. Jaune will fulfill them both in a more positive way.
He is guiding Cinder towards her destiny, by conveying the meaning of Pyrrha's words (heroism)
He is getting his happily ever after with Weiss (love)
In other words, Jaune is fulfilling Pyrrha's legacy thanks to Weiss and is ending up with Weiss thanks to Pyrrha.
THE BEAUTY OF WHITE KNIGHT
Let's summarize Weiss and Jaune's arcs.
Weiss's story is about overcoming her father's abuse. This starts with her affirming who she is outside her surname, goes on with her healing her family and it ends with a new legacy and a new romantic interest. The Schnee name is dirtied when Willow is caught in an abusive relationship with Jacques. Their marriage twists Weiss's perception of romantic relationships:
Weiss: All my life, boys have only cared about the perks of my last name.
So, it would be the cherry on top of Weiss's arc for her family to be reborn together with a new love. A bond with someone who genuinelly likes Weiss:
Jaune: It's Weiss. I'm completely head-over-heels for her, and she won't even give me a chance. She's cold, but she's also incredible. She's smart, and graceful, and talented. I mean, have you heard her sing? I-I just wish she's take me seriously, y'know? I wish I could tell her how I feel without messing it all up.
Jaune's story is about loving himself for who he is, as a whole. Strength and weakness. Masculine and feminine traits alike. The path to do so is to integrate with Pyrrha and become the hero she was. At the same time, he needs to work through his grief over Pyrrha's death. Both goals can be celebrated with the beginning of a fresh relationship. A bond with someone Jaune has always admired. That would be Pyrrha's final gift to him:
Pyrrha: Then do it. Tell her exactly what you said. No ridiculous schemes, no pick-up lines. Just… be honest. You can't get it wrong if it's the truth.
This is why I personally don't believe either Weiss or Jaune ending up single fits their stories. Weiss deserves a romantic partner who loves her, so she can write a story different from her parents'. Jaune needs a new relationship to give both himself and Pyrrha closure.
In conclusion, I personally think both Whiterose and Arkos are intertwined with White Knight.
Arkos especially is a part of White Knight. White Knight would not be possible without Arkos. At the same time, Arkos would lack a powerful catharsis without White Knight. They are 2 bonds that are bound to grow and develop thanks to each other.
Thank you for the ask! I hope my rambling made sense :)

Alrighty, how about some more fluffy nsfw HC’s for each of the ladies of team RWBY and there Male S/O going on a date to a nude beach
Never wrote about a nude beach, or even been to one. LET'S GO ANYWAYS WOOOOOO
----------
Team RWBY going to a Nude Beach with Male S/O
Ruby Rose
Ruby has heard stories from Qrow about nude beaches and thought it was such a funny idea. She always expressed a desire to go see one in person (much to the dismay of both Tai and Qrow, the former wanting to strangle the latter)
Yang promised to take her to her first nude beach, but you beat her to the punch. After dating for a few years, you both found an article about a new beach opening up in town and decided to go for it
When you arrived she was in awe at everything. It was so interesting to see nudity, which was normally such a taboo, be treated as common
You kinda had to stop her from staring at everyone like they were zoo animals
It took her a bit of time to get used to being naked herself though. She isn't used to not wearing clothes. The skimpiest thing she's worn in public was a sports bra and shorts
Having never seen Ruby naked yet in your relationship, it was refreshing to see her like this. Nice boobs, nice ass, she was a pretty girl!
To help get her mind of things, you suggest making sand castles. Her mind instantly focused on that and all insecurity went out the fucking window
It turned into a whole sandcastle war with you two. At times you forgot where you were, that's how intense it got
Eventually she relaxed so much that she was openly cuddling with you on the sand
She wasn't exactly trying to turn you on or anything, but there definitely was a little flirting going on
Once you got a bit too much sand in your orifices, you packed up and headed back
Ruby wouldn't stop talking about it on the walk home. You two were 100% doing this again
Weiss Schnee
Weiss genuinely thought nude beaches were just myths. They don't have them in Atlas, and anyone who talked about them weren't really the trustworthy type (Cough cough Yang)
So when you invited her to one she thought you were joking. It wasn't until you arrived that she realised it was 100% real
She basically has a heart attack once you start stripping, and you had to keep reminding her that it's a NUDE beach, this is expected
You notice she's very hesitant, so you offer to go home and just watch a movie or something. But Weiss declines, stating that she isn't gonna back down. She isn't scared of some nudity!
That claim is quickly challenged by her hesitant stripping. You offer to help her but that is more embarrassing for her, so she's fine doing it herself
It was not her intention, and you felt bad for getting turned on, but it pretty much was similar to a strip tease
You are eventually able to coax her into walking around with you
To make her feel comfortable you hold her hand and talk to her to keep her attention. It helps a lot and she soon eases into the atmosphere
As it goes along she is more comfortable with her body and is able to relax just a little. But still refuses to make eye contact with with anyone else on the beach
Occasionally you will catch her oogling you, making her blush when you call her out. She'll deny it, but you still notice her eyes slowly flickering up and down your body
You tried to make it a bit more romantic and kissed her passionately, and even got her so into it she layed a hand on your chest
The moment she heard a couple talking and laughing as they walked by, Weiss said NOPE and pulled back
The ride home was a bit awkward at first, but she eventually admitted that it was quite fun and felt freeing. It felt like she was rebeling against society, and rebeling is one of her favorite things
It won't be a regular thing, but every now and then she'll suggest a nice beach trip
Blake Belladonna
When you suggested going to a nude beach, you expected more of a push back on the idea
Blake instead was intrigued with little hesitation. The main thing she was worried about was if it was gonna be crowded, the nudity didn't bother her that much
Thankfully you guys went at an odd time during the week so there wasn't too many people
Blake got naked and took your clothes, folding them neatly and placing them in her bag
You've seen it in her pants all the time, but this truly confirmed she has the Bellabooty
We know Blake isn't the most social or active, so her perfect day is sitting on the beach and reading a book, feeling the sun on her skin
She helped you set up the towels and put sunscreen on. She also pulled some food out so you can chill and relax
If you want to go out and play or talk to the locals, she is happy to stay behind. She doesn't want to force you to sit if you don't want to. But hey, if you genuinely want to chill with her, you can tell she is visibly estatic
At one point you take a closer look at the book she's reading and can instantly tell it's smut. Never turning down an opportunity to make her flustered, you pointed out how obvious it was, causing her to nearly toss the book into the ocean (but it was a special edition, she can't ruin that!)
Before you leave, you do one last bit of teasing, and suggest fulfilling the fantasies she's read in her books the next time you come to the beach. On the drive home you realise she never turned down the offer
Yang Xiao Long
The moment the nude beach opened up, you two were already on Bumblebee driving there
Instead of getting changed when you got there, you decided to just show up naked. What are they gonna do, judge you? HYPOCRITES
You've seen Yang naked many a time and never get tired of it. Seeing her perky breasts bounce around was pure serotonin
Before having fun, you guys have some fun and apply some suntan lotion to each other. It got a bit too heated someone had to step in and stop you guys
The whole day you guys were active! And it was great because there was no clothes to sweat in
You guys spent a lot of time playing in the water and swimming. It felt similar to skinny dipping, but intead it was a whole party doing it. You loved to randomly splash water on her to get a shocked reaction. In return she would just tackle you into the water
Eventually you somehow both entered a Beach Volleyball game, and fucking dominated. I'm talking points ahead of the other teams, it was a slaughter. A sexy sexy slaughter
No, no one has any real idea how you got into the game with random strangers. No one really minded though so eh
The perfect end to your guys' day was sun tanning and people watching. There was just regular conversation between you two, but occasionally one of you would stop instantly and point out a hottie across the way
It was kinda frustrating getting sand in every nook and cranny, but you guys definitely are gonna make this a regular date spot during the Summer
----------
Thank you for requesting!

part two
one with self: this technique is taught by rens family for the main part and now ren is the only one who knows how to do it. he goes on to teach it to everyone in his team though. the philosophy is simple for the most part even those with their aura unlocked don't have access to 100% of their power anyways as you naturally reject power coming from parts of yourself that you don't like. by accepting that these parts do exist and are a part of you you gain access to the whole of your soul's power. in time you can shrink or even remove these parts by replacing them with parts of yourself you seek to grow. thus making you a far more capable fighter even if you haven't experienced as much or grown for as long as others. meditation for this one mainly centers around sitting down and calmly sorting through your thoughts and past experiences. breathing exercises help with this. as a result users of this style are far more stable and stoic than others. though they can tend to be slow to react to issues.
Avalonian imperative: a man is measured by the impact they have on another's life. through inspiring others, whether through virtue or vice, their souls begin to send the power that naturally emanates from them to you regardless of distance. providing effectively infinite power though typically less than a soul would produce normally unless they impacted a lot of lives and knew how to atune themselves to the people they impacted. again you have to not only accept the world view of every one of these soul refining methods but also learn to use the power granted by them. The Avilonian imperative is meditated on by reaching the state of avilon, we would call this the flow state, where the world narrows to only the actions you preform allowing you to feel more keenly the connections you have to others. users of this style either become over the top villains sparing all they defeat to help inspire more fear in others to feed their legend and impact on others, or shining knights of the world protecting and helping wherever they can empowering their virtues as they do because the energy feeds into that part of their souls.
team jnpr become the fastest growing team in beacon by use of combining the avilonian imperative with one with self. each side of their new chivalrous refinement style being taught by either ren or jaune. pyrrha starts off getting far more energy than she knows what to do with due to her already global fame and her access to 100% of her soul. but the others quickly catch up as they start helping around beacon and vale and winning in various smaller fighting tournaments held throughout the city or through taking on tasks or challenges for others naturally growing their own souls while increasing the impact they have on other's lives.
rwby on the other hand start learning about sacrifice and learn some of the more esoteric abilities, like weiss learns delayed gratification or investing as a training technique. by agreeing to grow slowly now while in beacon she guarenties that her potential will remain limitless for the future. blake learns specialization by giving up on certain abilities her other abilities and skills increase their growth by orders of magnitude. yang learns to trade pain for power taking blows she could otherwise dodge or block in order to gain aura. effectively making her unstoppable when combined with her semblance. and ruby learns the heroic oath from watching jaune. by swearing to do something she gains greater power in order to complete the task she's sworn to, but it can lead to obsession if she promises something too difficult for her to accomplish quickly. the oath taking up more of her thoughts the more power she gains to accomplish it.
thoughts on the idea of soul refining and any ideals or philosophies you think would work to refine a soul? also thoughts on the Avilonian imperative? really just tell me what you think of everything lol
These are all really good ideas for explaining how Aura works. And need to be shared.

Mini Fanfic #1146: Stormflower vs Senusal Temptations~ (RWBY)
9:35 a.m. at JNPRO's Household's Dining Room.......
Sun: (Takes a Sip of his Cup.of Coffee Ren Made For him Before Letting Out a Relaxed Sigh) A new day and the first day of November is now officially upon us, fellas. Which could only mean one thing?
Neptune: The Triple N challenge has finally commences?
Sun: You know it! (Clinks his Cup Together With Neptune's)
Ren: (Rolls his Eyes) Ah yes, the internet challenge everyone seems to be taking the most seriously for some reason. (Takes a Sip of his Own Cup of Coffee Before Glaring at Both Sun and Neptune In Front of Him) And the one thing Oscar SHOULDN'T have any acknowledge about.
Neptune: (Holds his Hands Up in Defense) Okay, in our defense, he DID ask us what it was first.
Sun: Yeah, and we only told him not to eat anything nuts related for the entire month, so it's not all bad, right?
Ren: ('Sigh') True. And Oscar doesn't seem to be questioning it more to say the least.....I just don't the overall appeal or the concept of it really
Neptune: The concept's pretty simple if you ask me. Just think of it like any sort of endurance round you can of, resisting yourself from any sort of seductive temptations that comes your way for only one whole month.
Ren: And that in a way tests how strong-willed you truly are?
Neptune: Exactly! (Grabs his Chin While Thinking) Now that I think about it, I can definitely see you acing the challenge out of the three of us here no swear
Ren: You eally think I have what it takes?
Sun: (Happily Nodded) Heck yeah, man! You're like one of the most calm and cool collected guy we know. If anyone can beat the challenge, It would most definitely be you.
Neptune: All you gotta do is never give up and trust in your instinct. It'll do you just fine in the long run.
Ren: ('Sigh') I'm still not a fan of a challenge. (Shrugs) But I suppose it wouldn't hurt to take part of it just this once.
Neptune/Sun: (Cheers in Rejoice) Ah Yeah!/Woo!
Neptune: That's the spirit we're looking for!
Sun: We believe in you %100, Ren!
Ren: (Smiles a Bit) Thanks. Appericate the support.
Sun: (Smiles Brightly) No prob! What bros are fpr, am I right?
Neptune: Feeling nervous already?
Ren: No, not really. So long as I stay calm, I have nothing much to worry about in hindsight. Plus, knowing my partners. I doubt they would do anything to break that flow to begin with.
As Ren takes another Sip of his coffee, unknowingly to him and the others, his lovers Jaune, Nora, Pyrrha are hiding behind the doorway, listening to conversation this entire time, all while forming devious grins on each of their face.
Needless to say, the challenge of endurance has officially begun.
An Hour Later in the Living Room
TV Screen: I'm Doctor McLovin~.............No you're not!
Ren: (Watches the Movie and Notices Nora Walking in the Living Room, Holding a Bowl of Various Sealed Snacks While Sitting on the Sofa) Did you get everything you were looking for, Nora?
Nora: (Happily Nodded) You bet your face i did. (Suddenly Let's the Bowl Drop on the Floor Before Letting Out a Fake Gasps) Ohhh no!~ I missed and dropped our snacks by mistake!
Ren: You need any help picking up?
Nora: (Smiles Brightly) Nah, it's fine. I got this. (Bends Down and "Tries" Getting her Snacks Up on the Floor While Swinging her Hips From Side to Side) You just sit back and watch the movie, Renny Bear~
Ren: (Raises an Eyebrow in Confusion at What Nora Was Doing) Uh....Nora, why exactly are swinging your hips for?
Nora: Oh it's just one of my many daily workout routines I do from time to time just stay in fit. You know what I mean, right?
Ren: Uh...huh. Just try not to overdue it, okay?
Nora: 'Kay!~
Ren ressumes back to watching the movie before a sudden clapping noise started ringing into his ears. His eyes eventually begins to widens as he turns to see Nora squatting down and efficently thrusting her hips in an up and down motion with a cocky grin on her face.
Ren: N-Nora!?
Nora: This is just another part of my workout routine, Ren, don't worry!~
Ren: (Couldn't Believe What is Happening Right Now) Really? TWERKING is one of your daily routines?
Nora: Yep!~ Gotta keep my butt looking nice and firm for you guys. (Gives Ren a Seductive Smirk on her Face) You especially, honey~ (Blows a Kiss at her Already Flustered Boyfriend)
Ren: .................(Gets Himself Up From the Sofa) I'm gonna get myself ready for training now. (Quickly Makes his Way to the Bathroom)
Nora: (Smiles Brightly While Still Doing her "Routine") Okay!~ Have fun!~ If you need me, I'll still be in here. In living room. Shaking my Big, Fat BUTT off!~
Nora's loud and hardy laugh was the last thing Ren hears before he close the bathroom door completely.
Three Hours Later Outside
Ren: (Sits Himself Down on the Ground While Panting) Okay. I think.....It's time we......take a break right now......
Jaune: (Sits Down Next to His Boyfriend While Letting Out Heavy Sigh) Yes.....Couldn't agree more.....(Smiles Softly) You did good out there, Ren. I'm really proud of you.
Ren: (Smiles Back at Jaune) Thanks. You've improved quite a lot since the last time we've sparred.
Jaune: (Chuckles Lightly While Rubbing the Back of his Head Back and Forth) I know, right? It feels like I'm making actual progress this time around. This is great! ('Phew') (Starts Wiping the Sweat Off of his Forehead) But all this workout and sparring in the sun is really making me thristy right about now. (Takes off the Shirt He Was Wearing)
Ren: You're....gonna have your shirt off for the rest of the session?
Jaune: Yeah. Just in case I need more breathing room and whatnot. You don't mind, do you?
Ren: No, no. Not at all. I don't mind.
'Door Opens'
Nora: Jauneeee, I got your water!~ (Throws a Water Bottle Towards Jaune)
Jaune: (Catches the Water Bottle with One Hand) Thanks!
Jaune takes the cap of the bottle and proceeds to pour some of the water down onto his head as it drips down towards his half-naked body. This surprises and even stuns Ren to the point where is perspective starts slowing down the moment his second partner begins to shake the water off his hair from side-to-side.
A lot has happened before the day of Salem's demise occurred, some of involves Jaune's growth and development as a full-fledged huntsman in a mental and definitely physical sense. Ren and the girls always find Jaune attractive, even before they started dating each other, but to have him looking THIS hot, irresistible, JACKED even, in SLOW MOTION of all things....It's too much for the poor man to handle!
He's supposed to be the calmest member of the team and yet he couldn't even handle lasting a few amount of seconds sitting next to his boyfriend without gawking at him?.....What the hell kind of madness IS THIS-
Jaune: REN!
Ren: (Instantly Comes Back to Reality) HUH- Um....uhh....Y-Yes, Jaune?
Jaune: You alright? You looked spaced out there.
Ren: Yeah, yeah. I-I'll be fine. S-Sorry about that.....
Jaune: (Smiles Brightly) Nah, don't worry about it. As long as you guys are the only ones staring, then I don't mind it all of that. (Fprms a Bit of a Seductive Smirk on his Face) That being said~ If you ever a more private....maybe even more of a....spicier kind of sightseeing, let me know. (Slowly Leans Closer to.his Boyfriend) I am more than happy to oblige to your every....waking.....command~
Ren: (Blushing Like Crazy Right Now) Y-Y-You don't say? Well, I uh...('Clears Throat') Will be coming back to with that offer....(Points at the House's Door Behind Him) Right after I get some refreshments for myself....(Makes his Way to the Door) So if you'll excuse m- (Groans While his Blush Turns Bright Red at What is Happening in Front of his Point of View) Damnit, Nora, why are you still twerking!?
Nora: (Happily Twerking on the Porch) Working out as always, Renny Bear!~ Nothing more to it than that.
Jaune: (Gives Nora a Thumbs Up) You're doing great, honey!~
Nora: (Happily Waves at Jaune) Thanks, Jauney!~ You're just as much as a hunk as usual I see!~
Jaune: (Chuckles Lightly) Indeed I am!~ (Turns Back to his Boyfriend) You think so too, right, Ren-Ren?~
Ren let's out one more groan before finally going inside the house, baffled at all the seductive chaos that is happening right now.
Five Hours Later Outside of Mistral Café.......
Ren: (Raises an Eyebrow at Pyrrha in Front of Him) You want to take acting class?
Pyrrha: (Happily Nodded) Mmhmm~ I've always dreamed of acting growing up, but it was soon replaced with me becoming a Huntress instead. So I figured now that I'm given a second chance of life, this would be perfect opportunity for me to give it an honest try. (Starts Twirling the Front of Her Hair a Bit Shyly) I know this is too much to ask, but would you mind being my acting partner for the time being?
Ren: (Smiles Softly) Not at all. I have little experience when it comes to acting, so you'll have to forgive me if I get rusty here and there.
Pyrrha: (Smiles Brightly) No problem!~ I'll do most of the dialog. You just follow my lead, okay?
Ren: Sure thing. Ready whenever you are.
Pyrrha: (Nodded Once More) Right! (Clears her Throat Before Getting Up From her Seat and Takes a Deep Breath a Seductive Look on her Face) Well, well....What do we have here?~
Ren: (Simply Nodded to Pyrrha, Going Along with the Acting) Evening, ma'am.
Pyrrha: Good evening to you as well, stranger~ Please Pardon my intrusion. (Brings her Chair Over to the Other Side of the Table and Uses it to Sit Next to Ren) I was just walking around the city with my lonesome self and couldn't help but noticed this fine, dashing gentleman such as yourself, spoiling my viewpoint~
Ren: (Starts Rubbing the Back his Head Back and Forth) Well, Nora always did say I was the most gorgeous man in the entire planet. The name's Ren by the way, in....case you were wondering.
Pyrrha: (Giggles Softly) Is that so?~ Well, Ren, I may be new arounf these parks.....(Plave her Two Fingers under Ren's Chin, Slowly Rubbing it Sensually) But I believe that gorgeous men such as yourself, should be treated with the upmost care and affection, in a literal sense of course~
Ren: (Blush Appears on his Face Yet Again, Right on Cue) Y-You don't say?
Pyrrha: That's right~ In fact, since I'm in very good mood today, I suppose it wouldn't too much to give your reward right now.
Ren: R-Reward......R-Right here?
Pyrrha: Yes~ (Slowly Leans Closer to Ren) Just one....little....tiny.....lovely....reward~
Pyrrha starts puckering up her red shiny red lips until......
????: Excuse me?
Pyrrha: Ah! (Immediately Gets Startled Before Turning to See the Waitress Standing Behind Her and Ren) Uh....Y-Yes sir?
Waitress: (Bows at the Duo with a Bit of a Sheepish Smile on her Face) Apologies for interrupting, you two. I forgot to ask what kind of beverage you want with the food you ordered.
Pyrrha: (Sheepishly Smiles Back at the Waitress) I'll just take a glass of water for the today please.
Ren: (Still Trying to Comprehend What Just Happened) Water for me too.
Waitress: (Smiles Brightly) Spendid!~ I'll have it out for you two in sec. (Points her Finger Gun at Pyrrha Before Leaving) Love your acting by the way.
Pyrrha: (Happily Waves at the Waitress) Thank you!~ ('Sigh') That was pretty intensed there, huh?
Ren: (Place One Side of his Head onto the Palm of his Hand) In more ways than one....I had fun regardless.
Pyrrha: (Stares at Ren For a Brief Second Before Smiling Softly) I'm so glad. We should definitely do this again soon. (Forms a Flirtatious Look om her Face) But with....more passion next time around, yeah?~
Pyrrha let's out a soft giggle before winking at Ren, leaving the poor man even more flustered in confused than he was before.
Later That Night........
Ren: (Slams his Hands on Two Sides of the Sink While Looking at Himself in the Bathroom Mirror) ('Slam') I can't keep going on like this. The day hasn't even ended yet and I'm already losing every bit of focus I had left investing in this dumb challenge! (Takes a Very Deep Breath Before Calming Himself Down] Okay, calm yourself, Ren. Remember your meditation training: Be as calm and soothing as the raindrop, but as vigilant as the roaring winds. This might be difficult to endure, but it's fine. You got this.
Ren closes the bathroom door behind him before making his way to his bedroom room.
Ren: Besides, I doubt there's anything else those three would do to past up the-(Eyes Suddenly Widened and Glares at What us in Front of Him) What the fuck!?
JNP: (Wearing Their Respective Bunny Costumes, Happily Waving at Their Boyfriend) Hiiiiii Ren!~
Ren: (Almost at a Loss For Words) D-Do I even wanna know what's going on right now?
Jaune: Oh it's simple, really. We just found out that this is the Year of the Rabbit.
Pyrrha: (Happily Clasps her Hands Together) And we figured what better way to celebrate than have a little fun with bunny costumes we've ordered.
Nora: (Forms a Cocky Smirk on her Face as She Pulls Up a Green Bunny Suit) We even got you one to wear too. No doubt it will look very sexy on you in every way~
Ren: (Groans While Pinching the Bridge of his Nose) I can't believe I'm going to ask this......Are you three actively trying to get arise out of me because of the No Nut November Challenge?
JNP: ('Gasps') Whaaaaat?
Nora: Noooooo~
Pyrrha: Of course not!~
Jaune: That's absurd, Ren! How could think we would stoop this low into-
Ren raises an eyebrow at his lovers in silence.
Jaune: ('Sigh in Defeat') Okay, fine, you caught us.....
Nora: (Starts Twiddling Her Fingers Around) We might've spied on you and boys talking about it early this morning....
Pyrrha: We didn't mean to make it difficult for you!~
Nora: (Turns to Pyrrha) Oh come on, Pyrrha. It was intentional from start to finish
Pyrrha: Right. W-Well....(Quickly Bows at Ren) P-Please forgive us for pervertedness, dear!~
Ren: ('Sigh') Take it down a notch, Pyrrha. It's fine.
Pyrrha: (Eyes Begins to Sparkle) Really?
Ren: Really Really. I should've been more mentally prepared from the beginning. Then again, I wasn't expecting either of you to go out of your way to break me down.
Jaune: (Chuckles Sheepishly). What can we say? We like ourselves a new challenge ever now and then.
Nora: (Smirk Grew Wider) Though, I must say, seeing you get all flustered like that really brightened each of our day up more than it should~
Ren: Well, I guess it's nice to see you all are having fun out of all this at least. ('Sigh') As for myself, I believe it's safe to say that this challenge has done nothing but exhausted me immensely.
Jaune: Throwing in the towel already, bud?
Ren: Yep. (Starts Stretching his Arms and Body From Side to Side) Rather admit defeat than prolonging this foolishness any further. So in the meantime......(Spread his Arms Out Wide) Give your best shot. All of-YOUUU!?
JNP happily pulls Ren into the bedroom as they finally begin their fun together for the rest of the night. No doubt Sun and Neptune will definitely have a field day about all of this in morning, but that's something he'll worry about later.
All the stoic huntsman can do now is to relax and enjoy the sweet embrace of failure and defeat greeting him with open arms.
Lie Ren: MISSION UNSUCCESSFUL

You can't have white fang be both right and evil. RWBY failed the moment they made them terrorists.
Actually, no you can.
Not only WF as a concept shouldn't be a monolith hivemind, there are ways to frame it right.
Here's a simple example. A little Canadian scifi show that aired from 2012 till 2015, called Continuum. The premise is simple - a cop from the future is sent back in time to stop violent time traveling revolutionaries from changing the future any means necessary.
Simple right? The show follows a cop trying to prevent death and suffering the terrorists are causing and preserve her family and child in her own future.
Not really.
Spoilers for both RWBY and Continuum follow
As the show's first season progresses, one realizes that there are several things wrong with the initial premise:
The terrorists are 100% in the right motivation-wise because the future is corporate fascist dystopia where an immoral and unethical mega-corporation has entire world in it's hands. The tactics they employ themselves are irredeemable but also borne out of desperation and suffering. And in spite of death and suffering they cause, they are also capable of genuine heroism, camaraderie and selflessness.
The Protagonist is unreliable narrator and you are not supposed to take a lot of her moralizing at face value. The forces she works for have caused massive suffering and death on scale beyond anything the terrorists are doing and she herself is a tool of a fascist regime that does things like permanently lobotomize people into factory drones. While a lot of her decisions are morally sound, the show does end up questioning a lot of her choices and portraying the protagonist as someone who is just as imperfect and dangerous as the people she is chasing, as her experiences in the past slowly cause her to unravel.
There's no clean-cut solution on how to solve the time travel issue - for example the forces that want corporate dystopian future to stay intact simply regard the very idea of "status quo" as better alternative to other possibilities. The idea of orderly managed and calculated evil being preferable to chaotic and unpredictable one (for example one of alternatives being outright nuclear war). The show expects the audience to think and wonder about the very concept of "status quo" and how people come to rationalize it as "better", as well as the desperation and suffering that would cause the polar opposite near-accelerationist position that even everything burning is better because of even minuscule chance that it gets better.
Before you know you realize that the idea of navigating very imperfect and frightening futures is a parallel to navigating very frightening and imperfect idea of change itself - and how terrifying it is to let go of the idea of "safe and recognizable status quo" that's different for each person depending on their upbringing and experiences.
In the end, each character is defined by their fallible humanity and mistakes rather than various forms of moral absolutism. People can do absolutely reprehensible things for right reasons and people can do something heroic for extremely rotten ones.
The only thing that receives an absolute doubtless condemnation is the oppressive systems of power themselves, no matter how "comfy" the status quo and "order" is.
Now to get back to RWBY and how that relates to WF.
Imagine, what if
White Fang wasn't a monolith hivemind where everyone has exact same idea of how to do things? What if while WF is unified by singular idea, different people and groups within WF interpret it differently and also might change their minds depending on what goes on?
The protagonist position can be both right and wrong depending on situation and location and their willingness to compromise that naïve pacifism depending on what goes on around them is challenged in the story?
The story properly explores the kind of desperation and suffering that would CAUSE a more extreme reaction rather than vaguely mentioning it?
The story acknowledges that change itself is imperfect and explores just what necessitates change and whether there's a specific line that when crossed, makes the safety and known predictability of status quo unjustifiable?
Oh look suddenly we have a framework oh how to write White Fang as something more complex than "Adam's faceless redshirts" while STILL being able to have parts of WF as antagonists, both justifiable and irredeemable depending on who and when.
RWBY failed when it decided to use the absolutely nonsensical slippery slope argument as a way to justify why the very idea of justified anger of the oppressed is wrong.
One can avoid that when writing. You just have to treat WF as people.

My stupid theory RWBY Vol 9
This is a little theory I have for RWBY Vol 9. While the girls are dealing with their own challenges that they had to overcome to find each other. Jaune met the civilians that fell into the void when Cinder and Neo appeared. (I don't know if you guys remember that)
There's a part in the trailer where Jaune is believed to be riding a giant Rabbit, or something. This is not 100% true, but this is my theory.
After what happened on the magical bridge, or whatever it's called, Jaune ran into other survivors who fell. Of course because he was the person who guides the civilians to the portal (he was the first to test it and show it is safe to use). I wouldn't be surprised if people trust him to protect them and maybe get them out of there.
Jaune knowing this, he feels that he has to take responsibility. And with this I return to the scene of "He" riding the 'Rabbit'. I say that they are in a town created by the survivors and RWBY arrived just when something or someone is attacking said town or someone set off the alarm when they saw the girls So Jaune appears with his new look, or not.
And with this I go to my other theory, the Jaune's new look. Maybe he made a deal with the lady that appears in the forge. Maybe she is magical and gave him an enchanted helmet so that he can be the protector of the people. That's my first theory and I don't think it's the closest to what's really going to happen. But it's a maybe.
Second theory, they find Jaune, he is fine, but while they continue this journey in this Volume. They will reach a part where each one will have to deal with their own regrets. In Jaune's case, not being strong enough to protect his friends from him. So maybe the woman or something/someone else offers him power in exchange for something. That's where the helmet comes from, RWBY fights him, he gets his helmet removed somehow, and he goes back to his old self.
My third, Jaune is being controlled by the lady or something/someone, and he is used to chase RWBY on his journey. Attacking them all the time, but RWBY knowing it's Jaune, they just incapacitate him. Also that the helmet is a form of torture. He may hear voices from his friends telling him how useless he is or perhaps comments from his family saying that he will never be someone like his father an grandfather. Maybe both things happen, or something different that will hurt him deeply.
Whatever happens, I believe everyone will survive. Our four heroes (Team RWBY and Jaune) together with the civilians who fell, will return to the real world safe and sound, and the first thing we are going to see is Jaune's Family waiting for them, and a lot mix emotions. Ok maybe not, but at some point it has to happen. Jaune cannot just say that he has 7 sisters and we have never seen them. Something that worries me is that while they are inside this other "world", time passes faster in the real world. That would be shocking. What do you guys think about what's going to happen?

Hello! Are you still doing the Volume 9 recap-analyses? If not, totally okay! I really enjoyed the two you already wrote, I find them very insightful.
I'm thrilled you've been enjoying them! I am absolutely still doing the recaps, I'm just... incredibly slow about it. Frankly, I knew this was going to happen. My job keeps me stupidly busy and ever since Covid I have a tendency to just zone out when I have free time, rather than pursuing creative projects, so finding that energy sweet spot for writing recaps has become a challenge. Toss in my bouncy ball brain's current fixation on The Magnus Archives and Ted Lasso (boy is that a weird combination) and entire days are going by where I suddenly realize, "Oh shit! I only gotten 500 words written of that recap😬"
BUT I have absolutely no intention of dropping them. Getting commentary weeks after an episode definitely isn't as satisfying as a same day response - especially when new knowledge inevitably colors my reading of past episodes - but for what it's worth, I 100% intend to fill up my meta page with all of Volume 9. God help me, but I intend to see RWBY through to its conclusion XD

While I can't speak for every one of them, I think the big thing that makes RWBY critics so off in how they can support an in-series dictators, abusers and authoritarian types and still call themselves good people outside is that I think they fall into a different category of...activist for lack of a better word.
To me, there's several different types of activist: People who actually want to change or dismantle the oppressors to build a better society, or who want to lift up their fellow oppressed, people who are anti-oppressor for the sake of preserving their own self-image as a good person, but who wouldn't hesitate to throw it away if they think it becomes an inconvenience, or it gets in the way of their selfish desires...and people who only want to "progress" to get into the same club as the oppressor, but not actually changing the system involved.
A lot of the people who act the way they do with RWBY seem to be the kinds of people who fall into the latter categories. They like the IDEA of being against oppressors and evil, but only so long as they can indulge in the same evils and don't have to challenge their own self-image of being a "good person" in the process. They don't see the nuances of a situation so much as they just want to stuff themselves into the "good" category even if their actions and words are the complete opposite of that. Or they just hate being the targets of oppression, but don't actually want to help the oppressed, so much as elevate themselves to become part of the oppressors.
I think this attitude and mindset just bleeds into their views of RWBY, because ultimately a good chunk of the story actively criticizes and questions this mindset, highlights how ultimately these kinds of people are rarely as good as they think they are, and that drives them nuts. They want to call themselves rebels while following authoritarians who will do all the thinking for them, because it's more comfortable to indulge in cruelty when you're not the one responsible for it in your mind.
There's a RWBY character who so perfectly sums up who RWBY "critics" really are when it comes to social issues. A character that RWBY "critics" refuse to acknowledge the true nature of, probably because of how that character mirrors their own appropriation of social issues.
That character would be Adam Taurus.
Adam was happy to be treated like a hero by the White Fang, but in reality, all he cared about was hurting others. The White Fang only mattered to him when they were loyal lackeys, his weapon for hurting others. He didn't care about them, their safety, their lives. He didn't care about other Faunus other than himself or how his actions impacted them. He was happy to sic his followers on other Faunus that he saw as having wronged him in any way.
Just look at how often RWBY "critics" insult the queer fandom of the show, mock queer people who enjoy the show, treat Bumbleby fans like they're idiots, and even insist that RWBY fans don't belong in queer fandom. They insist they want "representation" in RWBY, but dismiss and disparage all of the existing representation while pretending an obvious relationship is nothing—and a great deal of that is spite over the queer relationship existing at all rather than one of the characters giving herself to an opposite-sex character. They don't want Bumbleby to be made explicit, they don't want people to acknowledge May as trans rep, they don't want queer folks to enjoy the representation the show has to offer—they genuinely desire queer folks to be punished for enjoying a show they don't like, because all they really care about is themselves.
That extends into their takes on any other social issues. Adam's a badass dudebro, therefore he must be in the absolute right and the writers derailed him and totally think fighting racism is wrong. Ironwood's the strong man in charge, so all the oppressive authoritarian stuff he does is 100% justified and every trait (explicit or even headcanoned) makes it Morally Wrong for him to be an antagonist. The themes and relevant issues don't matter at all to these people; all they care about, all that fundamentally matters to them, is the character(s) they like. The show not being what they want it to be. The offense of the creators not serving their desires alone.

A Non-Exhaustive List of Stuff to Watch During the Strike
Everybody has a backlog of things to watch, but for everyone who is like me and routinely looks at that backlog and goes "but none of those hundred things sound interesting right now", here are some recommendations.
If You Have…
NETFLIX
Avatar The Last Airbender: Animated/Fantasy; 3 seasons; A teenage chosen one reawakens 100 years into the war he’s meant to stop. If you somehow are on Tumblr and haven’t seen this show, give it a try now.
Cunk on Earth: Documentary; 1 season; A very serious documentary that very seriously tells the story of the history of human progress.
Glow Up (2019): Competition; 4 seasons; Aspiring makeup artists compete for opportunities in the industry.
Nailed It! (2018): Competition; 7 seasons; Nicole Byer and Jacques Torres laugh with people who are not bakers as they try to bake extremely complicated desserts in less time than professionals could do it.
Wynonna Earp (2016): Western Horror; 4 seasons; The cursed descendant of famous lawman Wyatt Earp hunts demons in a small Canadian town alongside her (canonically bisexual) little sister, a US Marshall, an immortal Doc Holliday, and a (canonically lesbian) local cop.
HULU
Domino Masters (2022): Competition; 1 season; A competition show where teams build Rube Goldberg devices primarily focusing on dominos.
Holey Moley (2019): Competition; 3 seasons; Increasingly ridiculous mini golf holes where the ball can go into a water hazard but the people go in much more frequently.
Lego Masters (2020): Competition; 3 seasons; Teams of two build complex Lego designs based on each week’s theme.
Primeval (2007): Sci-Fi; 5 seasons; British scientists and government officials discover fluctuating portals to various time periods, which release dinosaurs and other creatures into the modern day. You’ll watch the first season and go “idk why this is considered good” and then all the other seasons will happen.
DISNEY PLUS
DuckTales (2017): Animated/Adventure Comedy; 3 seasons; A reboot of the 80s show of the same name, but with better character development and better treatment of its female characters.
The Owl House (2020): Animated/Horror Comedy; 3 seasons; An Afro Latina human girl is on her way to summer camp to be taught “normalcy” when she goes through a portal and finds herself in the Demon Realm. She decides that it’s way better than camp and stays. Friendship, family, love, and PTSD ensue.
MAX
Baking Championships: The Baking Championships (Kids Baking Championship, Halloween Baking Championship, Holiday Baking Championship, Spring Baking Champion Championship) are all a nice heartwarming fun time.
The Great Pottery Throw Down (2015): Competition; 5 seasons; You know how chill and fun GBBO is? Imagine that but with pottery.
CRUNCHYROLL
RWBY (2013): Animated/Fantasy; 9 seasons; A group of girls join a school to train for hunting monsters and fighting crime with cool weapons that are usually some sort of melee weapon and also a gun. The animation gets better with every season.
NO STREAMING SERVICES
Board Game Club: An ongoing series on the No Rolls Barred YouTube page; a bunch of people get together and play board games. This probably sounds like it would be boring but it is absolutely fantastic.
Critical Role: YouTube; 2 completed campaigns, 1 ongoing; A group of voice actor friends get together to play Dungeons and Dragons. Increasingly well-produced over time.
The Lizzie Bennet Diaries: 100 episodes; An adaptation of Pride and Prejudice that takes place entirely over vlogs. Very funny, handles the confines of a vlog setting fairly well, and Ashley Clements (Lizzie) is fabulous.
Video Game YouTubers: Particularly Let’s Plays, speedruns, and challenges. I personally enjoy Pokemon challenges like by FlygonHG, and Super Mario Odyssey Hide and Seek by a bunch of different Mario streamers is great fun.

I know emotional energy plays a heavy role in shipping and character relationships, but do you think that emotional energy can become a substitute for looking at subtext and intention?
Is portraying a relationship that is more rooted in comfort (sorry i don't know how else to describe this rn lol) a bad thing? I guess this is a matter of personal preference too, but I was curious about your thoughts
Hi!
To answer your questions: maybe, no, exactly.
I'm going to start with the "exactly." Yes, it has to do with personal preference, 100%. A comforting ship appeals less to me than a challenging one.
That said, no, it's absolutely not inherently a bad thing.
However, I will say that it very, very much depends on the kind of story being told, on its themes, on the characters involved. Different dynamics suit different stories. In addition, comfort and conflict aren't mutually exclusive. I actually ride or die for "we've tried to kill each other, and so you're the one who knows more of me than anyone else, so I can turn to you in more ways than I can with anyone else."
For example, in RWBY, Ren and Nora are comforting childhood friends to lovers. But they still challenge each other in some ways (trying to allow the other to find who they are, etc.) As two kids raised alone with only each other to cling to, presented to the audience as a pair even before we delved into their pasts, the comfort aspect really works for their relationship. It's not my favorite RWBY ship, but I absolutely ship it because it works so well for their characters and for RWBY's themes about growing up.
In regards to emotional energy as a substitute, are you asking if fans can misread emotional energy for deliberate teasing or intentional foreshadowing? I apologize if I misunderstand this, and feel free to clarify! If this is what you mean, then yeah, I agree.
Writers can and do bait fans sometimes (cough, Zutara, even Black Sun). But fans can also misread/watch the story. I also do not think Kiribaku has any textual basis, but hats off to shippers, go for it.
For example, and this ties nicely into the "comfort vs conflict" idea about shipping: in RWBY, I do not ship Ruby and Penny, and it never even occurred to me that they were heading in that direction until fans started acting like it was set in stone, which I found baffling. I've written about the coding of said characters a bunch of times, so the retcon aspect is a part of it, but another aspect of it is that Ruby is comforted by everyone around her. Unlike Nora or Ren, she has a sibling with her, and her uncle. She's not someone who has been lonely and never had a friend besides Penny. Now, of course they had a special friendship, I'm not denying that. The point though is that her friendship with Penny wasn't a challenge to Ruby's worldview.
In fact, no one really challenges Ruby consistently, except Weiss, Qrow, and Oscar. Qrow's challenge isn't a positive challenge either, plus he's her uncle. Weiss does challenge Ruby, and honestly her platonic relationship with Ruby is probably one of the most important in the entire series, but there's no explicit romantic coding, while there is with Oscar. Ruby needs to grow since she's the main protagonist, and her struggle isn't about a lack of comfort or home, but instead a need to find the lost and do whatever she can to protect the world. It's what that protection looks like that she needs to mature in, and that's where the likes of Oscar comes in.

Hi! What's your thoughts on why that specific group of character fell to the Ever After? I think they're the ones who grieved the most after Beacon and this is gonna be a bookend for that, while the Vacuo characters have a different narrative going on on their own. Not to say Ren and Nora didn't grieve after Beacon, but they were used to loss and both times have resolved their arc in a separate narrative: both of them slaying the source of their trauma in vol 4 and now Ren having realized his growth while Nora is going to realize hers.
Hi!
I am gonna get this chance to also properly apologize for not having answered your other ask yet :''') It is in my draft, but I still did not find the time to work on it.
Anyway, as for this ask, I understand where you are coming from, but I am not sure I 100% agree. Sure, grief is gonna be a major theme next volume (and in general it is a key theme for the story as a whole), but I disagree it is exclusive only of the characters that fell. For example, grief is a key theme in Ren and Nora's arc, while I would not say it is so prominent in Blake or especially Weiss.
Just quickly thinking at the characters stuck in Vacuo, we have:
Renora - their whole background is about losing a whole town and their parents. Moreover, they lost Pyrrha and now think they lost Jaune. They keep losing their family and end up always counting on each other.
Emerald - she has just lost Hazel and this loss and grief has yet to be unpacked.
Winter - oh boy... she has lost in 1 day Ironwood (father-figure), Penny and Weiss (little sisters). Her last scene in volume 8 screams grief.
In general, all the characters in Vacuo are gonna grieve the protagonists. Similarly, self-discovery is another theme shared by all characters equally and the trailer of volume 9 has made it abundantly clear:
What are you?
In short, self-discovery and grief are key themes for the whole story hence they permeate everyone's arcs and not just a specific set of characters'.
I think RWBY + J fell simply because they need more focus than others next volume. To be more specific, RWBY are almost always the ones involved in strange magic shenaningas (see Jinn in volume 6) since they are the titular characters. Every time a male lead tags with them according to character arcs. In volume 6 it was Oscar because Jinn's story had a specific value for him and Oz. This time it is Jaune to unpack what he did in the finale of volume 8. In general, it is also probable characters who are on the island need to interact with each other. As for Neo, I think she fell to drive Ruby's conflict. She is linked to her and she can work as a perfect foil to our girl ;)
Moreover, Ruby and Oscar needed to be separated this volume imo because of their inside/outside motif. On the one hand Ruby's heroine journey leads her to explore her own interiority. On the other hand Oscar's hero journey leads him to go out of his own head and to explore the world outside. Ruby externalizes, while Oscar internalizes hence they are challenged in opposite ways. Ruby falls into a world who mirrors her own head (Alice), while Oscar faces the real world with all its complexity (hopefully like the Little Prince).
Anyway, I really think they just wanted the girls + another MC to fall, so that they can focus on this specific set of characters. Apart from Oscar, the other characters stuck in Vacuo are either secondary protagonists (Renora and I would say Em too), important non-protagonist characters (Winter) or side characters (the Schnees + the Happy Huntresses). Usually, mains are gonna experience the most significative journeys in stories.
Thank you for the ask!
