I huh. I really like this and I also am very sorry because I feel like it's particularly sad. Miranda from Top of the Lake - China Girl is one of those characters I only want to write happy and carefree, and yet...not today maybe.
Dedicated to @gay-frogs08 with my most heartfelt apologies.
Summary: Years might have passed but this will not be goodbye. Miranda will not be abandoned. She has someone making sure of that, reminding her that each and every day. Two someones, actually.

Stiles and Derek walked Eli through the neighborhoods to trick-or-treat, heading toward Aiden’s house with the promise of pie.
Stiles was pretty sure (and also fairly proud) that Eli’s costume was the most unique they saw, until they found Erica and Boyd’s brood.
“Family costumes,” Stiles commented, “clever.”
Their eldest, Alicia, was dressed as the moon, while their toddler was a star. Erica’s dress had galaxies printed on it. Boyd was the only one who didn’t quite fit the space theme: he was just in a t-shirt that said simply WEREWOLF.
“That’s cheating,” Derek commented dryly, but Boyd just shrugged.

So is this just me....I really hate ficlets. I hate drabbles. I hate 100w fics.
On Tumblr they're ace 👍fantastic, love a little drabble while scrolling through Tumblr.... but on AO3??? Nah
I want long fics. Not even like 100,000w+ but just something of a good length that can really tell a story. Even a few thousand words makes me happy.
I just can't deal with 100w drabbles. Takes my phone longer to load them than it does for me to read them 🤣

for the Eternal Sterek server’s monthly drabble challenge! the challenge this time was to write a true drabble (100w) with a prompt of everybody’s favorite line: “don’t be such a sourwolf”. so here have some of Stiles’ college buddy, and Derek being a creepy lurker but also a sap.
Diane slapped Stiles' arm. "That guy's been hanging around for hours."
Peering around the food truck, Stiles bit back a smile. "So he has."
"He's hot," Diane allowed through a mouthful of churro. "Major resting bitch face, though. Wonder if he knows how to smile."
Stiles downed the last of his food and said, "Wanna see a magic trick?"
Ignoring Diane's protest, he took off across the street. Derek's arms opened for him without hesitation, and Stiles' kiss wiped the sour look off Derek's face in a heartbeat.
"So you do know how to smile."
Derek laughed. "Only for you."
