After the fall of Earth, humanity turned to the stars. Their ships were built to last, but even the most powerful machinery can grow old. Travelling for hundreds of years without finding a suitable planet, their time has nearly run out.
So the first planet they find that is even remotely suitable, they land on. Unfortunately, it's already inhabited by sentient lifeforms. And they won't give up their planet without a fight.

“There are vices we must allow ourselves, even if they theoretically shorten our lives by a day or a week or a year — because first we have to get through this day, this week, this year.”

Due to a bunch of different factors, my family decided not to drive up the front range to visit my sister. Instead, we decided to rent an AirBnB. Up in the mountains. With a bunch of snow. And a mountain hot-spring. Our trip just so happens to coincide on the solstice.
There is no such thing as coincidences.
It’s gorgeous up here! Here’s a pic of the view outside the living room window:

I spoke to Skadi as soon as I had a free moment. She felt... powerful. She was wearing this long white and brown fur cloak that ran almost down to the ground. It had a hood, and she was wearing it up, her white hair spilling out of the sides, almost glowing. Her face calm, with a slight smile - silent, yet powerful.
I asked about the coincidence of me being up here and she just smiled and shrugged. She said that tomorrow - the solstice - is going to be a big shift in energy. A big shift for everyone, but also for me - and that I should get some rest.
It makes me wonder about The Vision... hm, interesting. I might have to go on a walk at dusk tomorrow.
Anyways. The only other thing that I have to mention is that in one of my dreams last night, I had a voice tell me to “let go of attachments.” I wish I could remember exactly how they phrased it - but I kind of got a lesson and reminder in attachments - in my dream. How bizarre.
My friend has been having some major issues with sleep paralysis and weird anxiety dreams. I’ve been helping her deal with it magickally - creating protective sigils, and ones that ward off bad dreams, cleansing the space, etc. However... I think that there might be some astral funkiness afoot. She told me that the most recent one she saw some kind of shadowy figure standing over her.
So I did a cleanse on her, and then I built a servitor and attached it to her as a bodyguard. It’s also programmed to pull her out of any bad dreams/sleep paralysis, if she has any more. It’s still way too early to tell, but I’m curious to see how it works for her.
That’s it for now! I hope that everyone has a great evening!
Blessings!

Magpapakisame kami sa first floor and dumating na yung mga kahoy. Pero baka after Christmas na lang pastartan yon. So ako na lang nagpahid ng lason sa mga kahoy para bawas labor. 😂

Did I “brush” my teeth “this morning”? Yes. Was it actually just me swishing mouthwash around in my mouth at 4pm? Yes. But damnit, if that’s what it takes to get me cleaning my teeth twice a day (including once before bed), then it’s one hell of a start. And by “start” I mean I’ve been accomplishing that goal (teeth twice a day) slightly more frequently the past week or two, and that is fucking progress.

BLM LA leads “Black Xmas” to protest Amazon and Capitalism. Even though LA hospital ICUs are at 0% capacity and it is now the global epicenter of COVID infections and deaths, Marina Del Rey mall (and other malls) is still open for shoppers. The government’s pandemic response continues to prioritize capitalism over human lives.
The city has continued street sweeps (displacing houseless residents), parking fines (financially burdening houseless residents), and over 12,000 promised rooms remain empty to over 45,000 houseless people.

I’m being asked more of than I’m being offered right now and I hate it. There’s no balance. Yes, I’ll be paid, yes people will be grateful. Too much for me right now though.

liminal spaces
Tumblr media
By definition, a liminal space is a transitional space of a journey or event. There is no hard beginning nor end; it is just a temporary checkpoint as you ascend the next step of a life chapter.
There is a calmness and eeriness to liminal spaces. There are usually hundreds of pictures of liminal spaces on the internet: empty hallways, rooms, office buildings, venues, and roads. These are spaces that were once occupied by people, once lively and bustling full of life. Now they’re empty and devoid of life. It’s as if everything has come to a standstill and we’re just waiting, waiting, and waiting.
I was on campus this fall semester for two weeks before we were kicked off due to hundreds of cases of COVID. The day before I packed my things and left, campus was entirely quiet. Normally, the quad would be bustling with students going to the cafe, dining halls, and class. The day before I left, everything was so, so quiet. I walked past the student store and a family of squirrels sat there on the red bricks, normally occupied by chattering students.
The pandemic is a space of liminality–a space where there was a before and there is an after. We look back before the pandemic and see how we took gatherings, concerts, and parties for granted. We miss laughing, talking, hugging the ones we love. We reminisce back to easier, simpler times.
Afterwards, things will never be the same. Perhaps wearing masks will become an integral part of America’s changing culture of individualism. From now on, heads will turn away in disgust at the sound of a cough or sneeze. And perhaps we have permanently carved out a space for a future of technology.
After this pandemic, we will have changed as well. We will become more resilient, more tolerant, and more compassionate. In this time of ambiguity—this liminal space—is a time for change, and ultimately, growth.
