Little bit of hurt/comfort to start off the new year:
Prime ending up having a nightmare where he is his younger self, and he's forced to admit how much he loves the reader and is begging them not to go away. They are wanted, needed, loved more than anything, they can't just leave him behind! He knows he's difficult to handle, he's sorry, he doesn't know how to be better yet.
Unbeknownst to him, he talks in his sleep. He's mumbling quietly, but the reader can still hear him. They end up comforting him before and after he wakes up because despite how difficult he could be, he was just as wanted and needed and loved.

There are a lot of things Dottore can and will say. Good. Bad. Neutral. Whatever. He is a Harbinger, after all, an unconventional scholar, a scientist, he is Il Dottore, there is not much he fears if there is anything. And that extends to you too. Over the years, he has developed quite a talented tongue. He'll praise all these things about you, whispering them into your ear effortlessly. However, the one thing he says exceedingly sparsely is "I love you." (It doesn't surprise you much, you don't need him to say it for you to know he loves you.)
The sheer vulnerability of the statement, verbalizing such intimate feelings out loud... Dottore finds the words hard to say. So he doesn't. There's no need to, you're happy, he's happy, the way things are are perfectly fine. Until he is quite literally forced to, which is very rare because no one forces Il Dottore to do anything.
Dottore doesn't dream very often (probably because his sleep schedule is not normal) and even when he does sleep, it's very short and on and off... so he doesn't dream. But this time, he does. And as usual, when he does dreams, it never goes well. He takes back his words. One of the things he fears is losing you, in any way. Dottore is aware he is not an ideal or typical lover, he doesn't love you in the "proper" way. It's not a "normal" relationship, he puts you through things that certainly aren't in a typical one. He knows he upsets you sometimes, that he makes you sad, and that in turn upsets him as well, but, he is trying. Because Zandik loves you. Unfortunately, that doesn't seem to be enough for dream-you. He doesn't like this possibility coming to fruition. He does everything he can to stop it, even if it means making himself uncomfortably vulnerable.
After you process just what exactly he's mumbling about, you promptly rustle him awake. You don't want your beloved suffering like that and he wakes up. Of course, he acts normally despite just having a nightmare, and you just sigh before holding him close and kissing him all over. Always the contrarian.
You don't let Dottore know that you heard him mumbling. He'd be in denial about it, scoffing and saying he would never. For some reason, he feels the need to keep you a certain distance regarding certain things, even though you're his lover. Despite the countless times you've asked him to confide in you. But that's okay. You'll let him know how you love and need him forever.
You'll always find a way.

when bruce begins to help more in part two i think the city will welcome him back with open arms; maybe they wouldn’t have during the course of the first movie due to what riddler was pushing, but i bet they will embrace the much needed help in part two. falcone calls him “the prince of the city,” the paparazzi can’t believe their eyes when he makes a public appearance, both martinez and the twins are starstruck by the sight of him, and the wayne murders are still talked about on the news. collectively everyone in gotham understands what a tragedy and trauma bruce went through, and so they get why he has become what he is to them; a recluse. so when he steps into the light again in part two i think everyone is going to be very supportive. well everyone but bella. not that she won’t be supportive that is— she literally came to him and asked him to help, but i think she will be the only one like, “hey man, what took you so long?” and i wouldn’t be surprised if she was a little, (and rightfully justified), upset because bruce will probably get a lot of credit for just beginning to help the city (from an outside perspective) when people like her have BEEN trying to promote change.

Man. Being an artist on the internet is so dogshit. Half the social media sites will actively scrape your art for ai, almost all of them will ban you if you dare to post so much as a nipple, and the other half of them require you to be posting video content multiple times a day if you want your followers to even see anything you post
I just want to make pictures man.

It's like we've gone so deep into the "you can defy gender norms and still be trans" hole that we've wrapped back around to "it's okay to be a gay trans dude but you're only valid if you ALSO wear makeup and skirts and are okay with looking traditionally feminine".
That's it. That's where I'm at re: Tiktok and fandom at large. Both separately and together.
It's like people are like "if you like more standard gender norms then you're BAD BAD WRONG BAD EVIL" when no? For some people those norms are part of the desire to be more themselves. I love masculinity as a whole. I love its look. Its smell. It's feel. The way it prioritizes safety and protection. It makes me feel warm in a way femininity never does.
It's not that I think those feelings don't exist in femininity, it's that I personally do not experience them. But try to put that nuance on the internet, in fanfic or in general, and you get people coming out of the woodwork to tell you you're wrong and sexist and holding up traditional patriarchal norms.
And it's not that I think the people who do break those norms are bad. And it's not that I think trans guys who do wear skirts are bad. Not at all. A person is a person is a person. What you do as an individual is a mark of yourself and your identity. I would never, ever claim that you wearing a skirt is somehow invalidating my existence. That's stupid.
What I'm talking about is the online culture, particularly in fandom, surrounding this idea, this concept, of breaking gender roles and how it's the "only way to participate in them" according to a lot of fuckers.
And that's not even getting into how complex feelings for gender and gender norms and gendered things can be when you're trans and how it's incredibly unique from person to person and insisting that a trans guy is somehow transphobic for not wearing skirts or that a creator is somehow transphobic for not putting their trans guys in skirts--
Hey did you know that in my fic, The Weight of Living, when I put Weiss in pants prior to having him come out as a dude, no one had problems with it, but after Weiss was like, "I'm a dude", people actively told me that I was being "problematic" and "enforcing stereotypes" for saying Weiss needed short hair and pants to be a guy.
As if that wasn't. Completely missing the point.
But nah this definitely isn't a widespread problem or anything.
I'm at the point where like. If you disagree with this, go fuck yourself. I'm so fucking tired of the widespread and forced feminization of trans men.
Edit: oh so this entire thing just comes down to this generation thinking maleness is inherently evil. because TERFs. Got it.
