Been looking at the romantic era clothing, 1820s-1850. It was a period surrounding the appreciation of nature, holding emotion over reason and being in tune w your senses
Not good views of women obviously
However this dress is specifically 1830s inspired, I thought she’d just look really cute w the big dress and sleeves

The 1830's dress!
pattern is a modified combination of two dresses in Patterns of Fashion 1 from around 1837. It is a higher-collared morning dress in a reproduction cotton, with tightly-gathered upper sleeves and a full skirt. The bodice is lined with polished cotton and closes center front.
Worn over a gored-bust corset and starched petticoats, including a corded one! Pelerine is a light cotton/linen blend trimmed with lace and closed with a reproduction cameo brooch.

An entry from a neat event hosted by @/euphoriousdesign in Artfol, where we had to draw our characters in 1830s fashion.
Frankly Anneliese was the original pick, but I decided against it since she lives around the Victorian Age— which is pretty close. So I decided to draw Selene if she lived around the 1830s 💙 Wanted to elicit some of that rustic yet elegant style she has.
I planned to color this too, but I thought it be a risk because the details of the linework would be gone. So I am leaving it as it is.
