still an auror lurking in the shadows of the ministry doing tasks even when it's beneath his talents, order member always ready to answer when called, still thinking about horcruxes and where or what they might be, slytherin 1972-1979.

Sense and Sensibility

(in mini using book plots as inspo) kingsley may have come from a long line of sacred 28 purebloods but he was never really one of them. his father worked for the department of international cooperation as an ambassador and it was in benin after the passing of his first wife that he had met kingsley's mother. a pureblood witch who's family went so far back in their community they have ties to the origins of vodou. he was born in the west african country as well as his two siblings up until the age of eight, when his father was elected into the wizengamot and moved his new family to england. despite being introduced into english pureblood society, kingsley, his siblings, his mother were always othered by his grandparents and their friends. given his first marriage was an arrangement, his father was determined in this second time to marry for love despite his parents trying to force a new betrothal. they didn't approve of a witch who did foreign magic and always doubted her pure blood even when she had enough gall to slam a family grimoire with her family tree on a dinner table in front of them. having left his first born son in the care of his parents for a whole new family didn't help soothe his parent's wrath and as a consequence, kingsley and his younger siblings reaped what their father sowed when he passed away. kinglsey was only in his third year and though he was left a very great sum of money (half to be exact) his eldest brother took it all for himself, leaving them to live off an allowance he gave them that got smaller and smaller as the years went by.

today, kingsley, his eldest brother and their youngest sibling are the only living members of the shacklebolt family.

she was close friends with many slytherins who would go on to become death eaters or supporters of tom riddle. but towards the beginning of her sixth year, began distancing herself from them, spending more time with her friends from other houses, once they began supporting him and showed themselves to be blood purists. she made it seem that it was because she needed to focus on her studies so she would get her dream position at the ministry.

emmeline joined the order in her sixth year, by personal invitation of dumbledore, and began recruiting her classmates to join the cause while still in school. upon graduation, she began using her contacts to find allies internationally.

under dumbledore’s orders, emme has reconnected with her old housemates in an attempt to gain their trust and collect whatever intel on voldemort's potential return she can.

Barty’s spent a lot of time in Azkaban debating which questions, precisely, he’ll demand of his father before he kills him (goals are so important), and those top the list. Keeping to canon, (hopefully, depending on alternative ideas! And obviously he likely wouldn’t have still retained the post) Sr. used his son’s trial, which he’d presided over as the Head of the Department of Magical Law Enforcement, to publicly disown him, ignoring Barty’s pleading for mercy. There’s a trick, you see, to lying — to be most effective, all lies must contain within them at least a grain of truth; he’d yearned for his father’s mercy and, having been denied it, he had no father save for the figure he’d devoted himself to, the Lord to whom he’d hoped to be “closer than a son.” Even in Azkaban, though, anxious as he is to see Voldemort freed and return to his side, he clings to the thoughts of two women to ease the stings of the dark: his mother, Melisende, now missing, and his former flame, Livia Greengrass, now tied to another. The capability to make the choices he did always existed within him, had anyone paid enough attention to see beneath the charming, perfectionistic exterior that became twisted with longing. • While his relationship with Livia and his access to her family first introduced him to positive talks of the Death Eaters, his pursuit of the role ultimately came from spite following a tumultuous argument with his father that ended with Barty leaving the family home. Having finally abandoned any hope that his father would acknowledge him and his success, he sought someone who would. • Though he credits his position at the ministry to another attempt to gain his father’s favor, studying magical artefacts and runes had been deeply fulfilling. There lies within him this need to reconcile the different parts of himself as two sides of a coin — one for his father, one for his master — but that’s far too simplistic a view to be accurate. • Did not deny being a Death Eater at his trial despite his plea for mercy, and he found those who had denied the charge to be unworthy in comparison to himself.

too lazy 2 do something fancy right now but first off, i have regulus black.

prodigal son, head of the house of black and on the surface, seems practically put together in every way. looks like he wears the wizarding, designer version of club monaco. he does sometimes but in actuality, really just likes neutrals and cashmere sweaters. he’s rich and has rich people taste so sue him thank you. his big thing slash secret is that he’s a double agent for the order, which he fell into after telling his brother about the existence of the horcruxes.

was probably the last person to stop looking for the horcruxes after the first war and was probably really skeptical about playing for both sides completely. he’s judgmental and reserved, but has worked hard the past few years unlearning a lot of the purist bias he grew up with. he’s still got work to do and he wants nothing more than to destroy voldemort but i’m sure there is some angst, etc. to be had. people on the wrong side he still cares about, etc. it’s not easy to rebuild your life, especially when you’re leading two of them. 

then i also have molly weasley, whom i love to pieces.

mother of seven and auror boss bitch extraordinaire. i decided in this universe that she ended up becoming an auror (literally her magical ability is so underrated. there is little to nothing that the woman cannot do istg). she’s an incredibly formidable duellist and being at the end of one of her jinxes or hexes will take at least a decade off your life. my thought is that eventually arthur ended up being the stay at home dad slash sometimes consultant on all things muggle for the ministry, etc. he has plenty of hobbies and kids to keep himself occupied. after 16 years of marriage and 7 kids, she’s still madly in love with the idiot. someone make him please. 

anyway, molly is the same jovial, friendly and overbearing friend, mother, and family member she always love. her love language to others is acts of service and touch. baker, crafter, and fangirl extraordinaire. howver, she wouldn’t be caught DEAD with a “live, laugh, love” or “home is where the heart is” signs in her house. she loves music (yes she’d be a mom kpop stan), romance novels, and threatening her family members with jinxes (ginny had to get it from someone).
