nobody asked or probably cares but I've figured out how there could be a Darkwing Duck reboot that is both true to Ducktales 2017 and Darkwing Duck 1991 and here it is, under a read more bc it got long
The first episode opens on Jim Starling and his acting career, showing how Darkwing Duck affects it and him.
This gives us an idea of the Darkwing Duck who never stayed down and inspired LP and Drake. Also shows me this version of Darkwing that had no Launchpad or Gosalyn I want to see it.
Bring this to the last episode before it was cancelled and pan out from the filming to it being shown in a carpark
From here it's The Duck Knight Returns but Jim's point of view, until we get to Launchpad locking Drake in his trailer. Then it becomes Drake's pov as he talks about being bullied in school
Drake was bullied as a kid - referencing DWD 91 Paraducks - and as a teen - Clash Reunion
May reference a friend of his....some dude named Elmo maybe...... Ok but imagine Drake was a theatre kid and got bullied but did his best to be cool, and Elmo did tech for the theatre and also got bullied but got angry instead of trying to please the popular crowd like Drake
Back to present day and we get the end of the episode as normal, setting us up with Darkwing Duck, Launchpad, and Negaduck
But that's only a regular episode. Next we have the hour long special, Let's Get Dangerous. Not much has to change here but the start could show us Gosalyn and her Grandpa more, and let us know she's in foster care at the moment. Would also have less focus on the Ducks/McDucks
From here it's pretty plain sailing, set Gosalyn up as Quiverwing, have LP coming to Canard a lot and have him reference stuff that's happening in Ducktales 2017 - like "I wish I could be at Dewey's flying lesson but I know that's something that's important to his mom" or him mentioning FOWL
More Fenton and Drake interaction please 😭. Also a build up of Gosalyn getting to know Fenton
Negaduck is already established, and some smaller villians could easily make appearances with no need for explanation overall
The Fearsome Four though. Trickier but there's ways. Maybe Negaduck gets them from an alternate universe (cake to alternate universe remember). Maybe some other Darkwing Duck fans were inspired by things like Bushroot's experiments, wanted to see if it could be done, accidentally became evil plant zombie. Maybe Drake's old friend Elmo got shocked by electricity and swears vengeance on anyone who ever was mean to him. Maybe Liquidator is the exact same lemme see Drake kill a capitalist again Disney please-
Could have an episode that crosses over with the DT finale. Not necessary but I would cry.
After this it's pretty much good to go with rebooting. Almost.
Because at some point maybe it comes up about Gosalyn attending school, or maybe Drake is going to adopt her, and hey turns out you can't list your address as the bridge tower who knew and Gosalyn wonders how she got such himbos as family sometimes
So they go to buy a house and they find this really nice place eventually, 537 Avian Way. Not too expensive, looks good, they buy. Quick sale, estate agent is keen to get it done, bit curious but okay sure.
Drake and Launchpad and Gosalyn are just done officially moving in when their new neighbours come home from their 2 week camping trick.
"they have kids that's nice, one is Gosalyn's age" Drake thinks. "this'll be great!"
5 seconds later he meets his biggest enemies, the Muddlefoots and hates everything.
And then yeah they're good to go with rebooting storylines from dwd91 and occasionally giving us DT17 Easter Eggs. In conclusion, hire me Disney. The end
