Harry’s brow furrowed with displeasure at the blinding stream of sunlight that poured into the bedroom. He could hardly open his eyes, much less stumble to the window to cinch the curtains shut in agony. He pawed around the bed blindly with the hand that wasn’t clasped desperately over his eyes and Y/N was nowhere to be found.

Throwing off the covers, he stumbled to the open door and emerged into a significantly darker hallway, where he stayed for a moment until his eyes adjusted. While he stood there, against the wall covered in a Polaroid collage of his and Y/N’s relationship, he became aware of vague voices and a rhythmic thumping.

What could Y/N possibly be doing at the crack of dawn on the Saturday morning he returned from tour?

Warily, he padded to the top of the stairs, bunching his robe around his waist as he craned an ear to listen. What he heard couldn’t help but bring a foolish smile to his face.

“Waking up beside you, I’m a loaded gun. I can’t contain this anymore. I’m all yours, I’ve got no control, no control.”

He crept contentedly down the stairs as he was met by the sweet scent wafting out of the kitchen, which Y/N was bustling around like a happy bee. She was so engrossed in her music and baking that she failed to register her half-asleep boyfriend’s footsteps making their way around the island to greet her.

Tin of freshly-baked muffins in hand, she jumped slightly as his arms enveloped her waist, cradling her against his chest as he buried a kiss in her hair.

“What’re you doin’ up so early?” he poked in a low, slightly raspy morning voice. “I didn’t even get a ‘good morning’?”

“Shoo, Harry!” she huffed, setting the muffin tin on the counter with a metallic clang. “Of course this is the one morning you wake up early.”

“Y’ made muffins,” he observed bluntly, yawning as he shuffled his feet closer to the steaming pastries.

“Thanks, captain obvious,” she sighed in amusement as she watched him reach out to grab a muffin and retract his hand when it burned the tips of his fingers.

“Patience, rockstar,” she chided with a twinkle in her eye.

Letting go of his robe, Harry scooped her up in his strong but tired arms and carried her to the couch, sitting down carefully with her in his lap.

“Oh, I’ve missed you,” he murmured against your collarbone between delicate kisses to your neck. “You wouldn’t even believe how much.”

“While you were out, annihilating venue after venue, night after night, I was watching from the virtual sidelines, cheering you on all the way.”

“I couldn’t do it without you, y/n. Seriously.”

“Awww, Harry’s being soft,” you cooed endearingly against his chest.

“You give me motivation and inspiration and determination and all of the other -ations in the English language. I love you for that.” Feeling stupidly sappy, he changed the subject. “‘S the coffee done?”

“It’s good enough,” she replied, gesturing broadly to the coffee maker on the counter, feeling color rush to your cheeks. “I already set out your favorite mug out.”

“Thank you s’much, love.” He smiled down at the countertop, genuinely touched, the sun lighting up his side profile and filling his dimple. “I’ve missed our mornings together.”

“So have I,” she admitted more than readily, filling the silence as the next song began playing. “I enjoy the half-asleep Harry who lets me baby him.”

Her boyfriend reached out his arm and pulled her into a warm embrace complete with his signature robe. With his face buried in her hair, he managed, “There’s just something about mornings. They’re almost more intimate.”

“More intimate than nights?”

A smile spread subconsciously over his face before he could prevent it. He placed his hands delicately on his cheeks to hide the blush spreading across them.

“There’s just something more intimate,” he repeated with a chuckle.

“Get out, get out, get out of my head and fall into my arms instead,” y/n’s phone played, and she couldn’t help but sing along. “I don’t, I don’t, don’t know what it is, but I need that one thing.”

Harry joined. “And you’ve got that one thing.”

Guillermo floats up behind him with an uncomfortable grimace, pressing his palm together awkwardly, and responds "Uh...I was just wondering...how you were feeling?" 1d. Close up on Laszlo as he slowly turns to look at Guillermo with an irritated expression that says "really?" Guillermo stutters, "Um...right." 1e. Full body shot of floating Guillermo, gesturing vaguely and looking up and away as he continues, "Just, the whole Colin Robinson thing...you and I were kinda in the same boat, you know? So I know how you feel-" Laszlo interrupts sharply from offscreen, "You do not. Know how I feel." 1f. Close up on Guillermo as he looks back at Laszlo with a contrite and surprised expression, stuttering back, "I-Im sorry..."

2a. Laszlo stands with a sigh, pushing in his chair with one hand and tucking his glasses into his vest pocket with the other. He says, "You should be focused on your own unfinished business, spectre. Not mine." Offscreen, Guillermo replies, "Well, I've got Nandor working on that for me..." 2b. Laszlo, picking up his unfinished bottle to put it away, barks out a loud laugh and looks back over at Guillermo, pointing out "Sounds like a one way ticket to getting stuck on this plane for eternity." Guillermo winces, forcing a smile through an embarrassed grimace and fidgeting in place as he avoids Laszlo's eyes. He couldn't argue with that. 2c. Laszlo turns to face Guillermo with a sardonic smile, one eyebrow raised, holding the book that was balancing his ship cocked against his hip. He gestures with his other hand and teases, "Unless that's what you want? I wouldn't say no to a clean house with marginally less complaining." Guillermo, close up in the foreground, looks up and away and holds out both hands in a stopping gesture. Still with a slightly embarrassed, self-depreciative smile, he responds, "Ah, no, no, no. That would not be...no."

3a. Full body close up on Guillermo in profile, clutching his elbow nervously with the opposite hand. His expression goes distant and pensive as he continues, "That could be...really bad, actually. Ever since I "woke up", it feels like I'm on a hair trigger constantly. Rage, grief, uh...other stuff... It's all right on the surface. And it's only getting worse. I can interact with the world more, but mostly it's... destructive. I'm not even really meaning to do it, I just... Do." In the background there is a collage of previous scenes in greyscale: ghost Guillermo angrily pouting, a crystal ball flying into Colin's face, Guillermo destroying an envelope with laser eyes, a sponge being thrown at Nandor, Guillermo ranting at Nadja, Guillermo shouting at Nandor, Guillermo shouting at Nandor again and him responding "alright, alright, yeesh. so testy lately". 3b. Hello, from the One Direction Big Bang, Round 7!

This year, our fic fest is running from Autumn 2023 to Spring 2024! We're so excited to be back for another year, and wanted to take a moment to explain what exactly a Big Bang is!

There's a whole Fanlore wiki you can read about the history of Big Bangs, but to quote their intro paragraph:

A Big Bang (or "Bang" for short) is a specific type of challenge usually involving long fics and accompanying artwork. This type of challenge is a reprise of the old zine tradition of collaboration between artists and writers for internet fandoms.

The original Big Bang took place in 2005 in the Drarry fandom, but Big Bangs can be found in so many fandoms (I started counting to say if it was tens or hundreds, but I lost track and gave up). It's truly a wonderful and multi-fandom-wide thing.

Fandom to fandom it varies how long they consider Big Bang fics should be, usually somewhere between 10k and 50k, and here at 1DBB we ask for a minimum of 25k. Over the years, we've seen amazing art created to accompany the fics, from digital and traditional illustration, to collages and abstract art, to manips and trailers.

If you would like to take a look through the treasure trove of previous Big Bangs, the master collection for the last seven rounds is located at New One Direction Big Bang on ao3. There are also five previous rounds hosted by a different collection of mods who retired, and that can be found at 1D Big Bang on ao3.

I think I check this blog & 1D Twitter once every six months just to get a vague overview of what’s happening. Yesterday there was a collage going to around on Twitter/X with the most recent pictures of the 1D guys. Niall and Louis have glown up! Zayn and Liam look the same (with more tattoos) then Harry, the youngest one looking worse for wear. It was his Pleasing Ad pic, so maybe bad lighting? Maybe it’s me but Louis and Niall seem like they are content, Zayn and Liam are navigating their new life with ups and downs. Then there is Harry… whatever the price he paid was too high.

Omg I use to LOVE Lizzie McGuire growing up and I would obsess over the Lizzie McGuire movie! And I was so down bad for Chad Michael Murray in Freaky Friday like he made my head spin as a child lol and I heard Noah on the radio the other day and I immediately thought of you! Also idk if you saw or anything but didn’t Noah cover Falling by Harry on an insta live??? I think I saw a clip of it??

I would say my music taste isn’t that broad or diverse soley bc once I find something I like I stick with it lol like the hyper fixating lasts a while lol or sometimes it’s just really obscure artists lol But I would say some of my faves would be Arctic Monkeys, Lana Del Rey, The Marias, Laufey, Lorde and lately I have been obsessed with the song Tell it to my Heart by Taylor Dayne! I probably have more but like I said it’s just all over the place! Oh and there are some other artists that I listen too in Spanish! And I often listen to instrumental/classical music lol ITS A LOT lol

The dentist is a scary place and plus who wants a stranger looking in your mouth like?! I don’t blame you! But yay be proud of your growth!!! I literally have 4x6 photos of him on my wall at school and my students (who are INSANE and don't know who Harry is) at the beginning of the year are like "is that your bf?" and I usually tell them "in my head, yes" and point out the pics of my actual bf and they're like "he looks like Harry" and I'm "yeah, I have a type 🤭"

I would get married in the Starbucks at Target. That would be my ideal venue. For a honeymoon we would go to the clothing section.

Oh yes! 🐱 is my biggest Made to Be supporter! That's how I "met" her! I think she helped me continue the story--at least the last five parts minimum. Neighbors was entirely her premise and I just ran with it! One of the Zipper Extras I was totally stuck on and I think she had the idea of where I needed to go. She's a wealth of knowledge and help whenever I need it most 💕
