Hebrews 4:12 (AMP‬‬). “For the word of God is living and active and full of power [making it operative, energizing, and effective]. It is sharper than any two-edged sword, penetrating as far as the division of the soul and spirit [the completeness of a person], and of both joints and marrow [the deepest parts of our nature], exposing and judging the very thoughts and intentions of the heart.”
2 Timothy 3:16-17 (NIV). “All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness, so that the servant of God may be thoroughly equipped for every good work.”

Living His Word
Tumblr media
All Scripture is breathed out by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, and for training in righteousness, that the man of God may be complete, equipped for every good work. — 2 Timothy 3:16-17
The Bible is not a book like any other book. The Bible is the Word of God. True, the Bible is written in the words of human beings. It has to be, or we would not understand it. But the Bible makes it clear that its words are the medium for the Word of God. Scripture is "breathed out by God," our verses for today proclaim. The very Word of God is revealed to us indirectly through the words of human beings. Behind the approximately forty authors of the Bible was the one God who inspired them all.
Since the Bible is the Word of God, it should have a status in our lives that supersedes any other book. We may learn a lot from other books, but the Bible should stand above them as the ultimate standard by which they are assessed. If other books fail to measure up to the standard or if they contradict it in some way, then they should be critically evaluated as such. The Bible gives us perspective and knowledge that cannot be acquired in any other way and, as a result, it should inform, guide, and direct any further search for perspective and knowledge on the world we live in.
Given what the Bible has for us, if you want to be a "man of God," if you want to be a person who is complete, then you must be a person who has been taught, reproofed, corrected, and trained by the Bible. People who have been trained by the Bible are ready for good works. This does not mean that further training is not necessary, but it does mean that those trained by the Bible are ready to live life as we are meant to live it. Without the perspective and knowledge of life that only the Bible can give we are incomplete human beings in a very fundamental sense.
The Bible should not be just one other book in your collection of books. The Bible should be the book that you give pride of place in your collection of books.
The Bible is the most important book ever written.

Do not take every word your pastor says as absolute solid biblical fact without studying the word of God for yourself. It is a disservice to you as well as your pastor. If  the pastor is found to be in error than you can help strengthen him and help them on their walk with God. After all they were a sinner in need of a savior just like you.
16 All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness: 17 That the man of God may be perfect, thoroughly furnished unto all good works. 2 Timothy 3:16-17

Why I believe in the Holy Bible!
At the beginning of each year my wife and I, like most Christians devote the 1st 21 days to fasting, praying, and calling out to God. During that time this year I found myself asking why do I believe the Holy Bible to be true. I know the answer, but the crazy part is I can never verbalize it well. One day a youtube notification popped up on my phone titled “Why I believe the Bible” by Dr.…

Eternal Assurance: Trusting in Christ Alone
Back in the early 90’s I faced a crisis as I held to a works-based salvation and constantly lived in fear of my eternal destiny. I had no assurance of my salvation because I never knew if I’d performed enough good works to validate my salvation. It was a terrible place to be. The solution came when I began to study the Scriptures carefully, stopped looking at myself, and fixed my “eyes on Jesus,…

Are You Growing in God’s Truth?
By Adrian Rogers “All Scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness, that the man of God may be complete, thoroughly equipped for every good work.”  2 Timothy 3:16-17 All Scripture is the breath of God. When I speak, you’re hearing my breath. I’ve taken breath into my lungs. My diaphragm is pushing against…

Writing YOUR Story: It's Time for YOU to write ME!
Writing YOUR Story: It’s Time for YOU to write ME!
Why have I been writing these posts for the last 3 years? Maybe because “In the past God spoke to our ancestors through the prophets at many times and in various ways, but in these last days he has spoken to us by his Son, whom he appointed heir of all things, and through whom also he made the universe.” (Hebrews 1:1-2, NIV) The Bible is an amazing book, and it makes some powerful claims about…

Why Should We Read and Study the Bible Daily?
Why Should We Read and Study the Bible Daily?
1. To obtain instructions. To keep His words in our hearts. “Receive, I pray thee, the law from his mouth, and lay up his words in thine heart.” (Job 22:22) 2. To obtain corrections, which lead to life. “For the commandment is a lamp; and the law is light; and reproofs of instruction are the way of life.” (Proverbs 6:23) 3. To help us obey God. To avoid sin.  “I have stored what you have…

Verse of the Day 6-9-22
Verse of the Day 6-9-22
All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness, so that the servant of God may be thoroughly equipped for every good work. 2 Timothy 3:16-17 The doctrine of inspiration refers to the process by which God oversaw the composition of Scripture, guiding the authors to write exactly what he wanted them to write without error. The Greek…
