I suck horribly at actually talking to people but I NEED to make it known how much I've loved and enjoyed your jade fics!!! Every single one has been a total banger., i've been fed so well.
I absolutely loved the readers lack of autonomy in your japanese folklore fic (im typing off memory so my spelling of everything will be off) they didn't have a choice in anything. fish wife <3 I'll admit I was a little confused with the Garappo, i truly thought it was some weird suicide until Jade later mentioned it. And why Floyd mentioned his brother dying to one, (I honestly thought it was supposed to be jade creature)
AGHHHH fish wife??? really?? fish wife??? the ending was so delicious, i could almost visualize it. so lovely. the fear, lack of autonomy, the loss of all they've known, never knowing what's real and what's a fantasy. I'm not sure what you envisioned for their future, but I can imagine that lack of autonomy will be more of a pressing issue than it was. God, the view of that though!!! Someone you only remember when you're too hazy to be in the real world, someone that's been with you throughout your life, someone that's wanted you since you could remember. isn't that so romantic? Finally together where the sun can't part you, under the water.
i dont know how to really explain what im feeling, or what i think, but i feel like it's such a poignant visual to be killed by this Jade in that way. It feels like watching a puzzle you've been working on be completed, or reaching a new plot point in a game you like, it's this feeling of intrigue, anticipation, idk. I always get that feeling reading your fics and also HOLY FUCK THEYRE SO LONG!!!!!!
and dont think i've forgotten your other fics LOL im ready to talk about those too holy fuck. I don't have that much to say unfortunately, I really enjoyed them just as much but I'm far more speechless. The Jade fic based off of Mera's god! Floyd was... really nice. The altar scene felt like Jade was punishing them for something. That's just how the bee crumbles, though. "sadist" might not rhyme with "jade" but it's basically the same word anyway... I loved watching Jade's opinion of Reader change over the time skips, he goes from mild annoyance/hate or, idk, repulsion (?) to interest, to love (menace style).
The reader fulfilling nothing in the end was certainly something. I loved it.
I've never really had a family, so I can't understand reader's motivations in your "crowley finds a way to send Yuu home" fic, but it made me wish I had one. I enjoyed the ending, the usage of the ghost camera. Poor Jade, really. I don't have much to say, because I'm not personally a fan of angst.
I feel like I can safely say you're my favorite writer, even above Mera. (who i now know you're also a fan of!!! which is neat!!!!!)

matsuoka rin is like your knight in shining armor. from the moment you were introduced to him by his college advisor, he made a vow to himself that he would make you feel at home here
he remembers how tough it was for him when he moved to australia by himself + he didn’t want anyone to feel that way, no one deserved that
he gets very comfortable with you very quickly, often showing up at your place unannounced to invite you somewhere
you learn about his past quicker than what might seem appropriate but he felt like sharing it w you to help you feel more comfortable around him + kind of explain why he’s so doting
rin makes it his mission to show you everything there is to see, teach you all there is to know, and experience all there is to experience about sydney!
most days after classes, he’ll ask you to accompany him downtown so you guys can try out a new spot, whether it be for coffee or food or sweets. you quickly learn he does not like sweets from the way he lets whatever dessert he ordered sit there in front of him
every weekend you guys will either go hiking somewhere new or explore another corner of new south wales that you hadn’t visited before
rin teaches you to love the outdoors if you didn’t already, because you’re practically out with him from dawn till dusk
ofc, he wants to teach you how to swim !! he doesn’t take you to where he trains though—he feels like his teammates can be overbearing + doesn’t want you to feel put off by them
you guys go to the beach often + you mostly stay on the shore + watch him in the water
sometimes he begs you to get in w him so you indulge him + you both have more fun that way :)
rin sometimes serves as your translator for words that you can’t quite grasp yet + for that you are eternally grateful
once rin figures out when your birthday is, he will make sure you feel super special on that day. he invites all of his friends + your friends + plans a surprise party at your favorite restaurant so far
whenever you’re sick he takes care of you 100% he gathers all of your notes from classes you missed, he lets all of your professors know you’re not feeling well, he practically lives on your couch so he’s there for whatever you need
he’s just all around so lovely omg can i be you

ok anyway i’m gonna draft this cus this might just be me getting mad about a thing that is very specific to me idk
basically i saw a post (and it really doesn’t matter who wrote it cus it’s more than a year old now and it didn’t even break 300 notes) which was making fun of people for claiming to have religious trauma when OP assumed they hadn’t been to X amount of catholic services. this by itself is a bit silly bc catholics gatekeeping religious trauma as being exclusive to them is obviously myopic, but one of the tags was like “you don’t have religious trauma you have ptsd from familial abuse that used religion against you” and im like. i fail to see how that’s not religious trauma?
like i’ve said before on this blog, my religious education was primarily reform jewish via my mom with smatterings of various christian denominations mostly via my dad; you could not measure any amount of “christian religious trauma” i have by continuous service attendance but like yeah my experience of christianity is still primarily one of punishment, alienation, antisemitism, supersessionism. and like sure, my dad is a dipshit who never stuck with anything for very long including going to any one church, so no that trauma does not include X hours of christian education or whatever. but boy oh boy did he still like weaponizing our “christian heritage” when i exhibited any proximity to judaism!
and i also feel like *part of* my difficulty with christianity is specifically not knowing what the fuck christians are talking about when they talk about concepts that are seemingly basic to them and having to piece it together after the fact from the random smattering of things i *do* know. and these concepts are just woven in the fabric of US society; everyone seems to understand them instinctively but me! or like i’ll be talking with my (ex-)christian friends about our various bad run-ins with christianity and then it’ll be my turn to talk and they’ll look at me like i have three heads because they can’t conceive of religious trauma that’s specifically centered around christian antisemitism. or i’ll be talking with my jewish friends and because *they* had a more rigorous or conservative jewish education, i won’t fit in with them either--and this too can be partially due to religious trauma on their part!
i guess the other thing too is, this post was kind of in keeping with a different post i saw about protestants appropriating catholic iconography when trying to make art about *their* religious trauma. and on the one hand it’s funny to me that we’re supposed to care about the trappings of a colonial institution being appropriated, on the other hand it’s funny as an outside observer cus i do think the iconography they listed as examples are more alike between catholicism and protestantism than they are different. like i remember some of the examples were stained glass and gothic churches (protestants also have those; i live in a city with many protestant gothic churches) and multi-eyed and winged angels (those are described in the tanakh; they are not exclusive to either of you).
and like maybe it’s corny but i do think they have become kind of signaling things for people with religious trauma to find each other and talk about their experiences. are these particular symbols necessarily 100% authentic to everyone’s experience? probably not, but 1.) they make cool art, and 2.) the looming and foreboding nature of some of these symbols (i’m thinking of the exteriors of gothic churches especially) can be evocative of the sense of alienation one feels when you’ve definitively decided you no longer want anything to do with the church, but it’s still ever present. imo these types are mad because they want exclusive use of the cool art symbolism more than they want to facilitate community. if you wanted to say that art symbolism is not a solid basis for a community, THAT would be an argument i’d respect, but that’s not what y’all said.

I have a question and I'm sure I'm not the only one who have thought about this at least once, especially with the recent updates and the ones before, since Toshio started living with Shindou.
Do you think Shindou actually loves Toshio romantically the way Toshio feels for him? Bcs so far it seems very one-sided. I know that Shindou will always be a tsundere character and with Toshio being much younger (physically and even more mentally), the mangaka might try to mitigate the 'moral burden' coming off from that notion with depicting Toshio being the one constanctly seeking affection and physical intimacies, so that Shindou remains an upright gentleman. But can't help feeling like Shindou is just going with the flow or giving Toshio anything he wants bcs he feels bad about the boy's situation and takes it as his responsibility to make him happy. I wonder if Shindou's feelings towards Toshio will be more clarified on the next chapters? Would love to hear about your thoughts, sorry for the super long ask!

First of all, let's go back to Volume 2 Chapter 9 for a bit, when Shindou talks about what he feels towards Toshio in the early stages of them living together.
Shindou says that yes, he does like Toshio. Flabbergasted, Toshio can't believe it at first and questions if Shindou really means it. Shindou replies that there's no reason for him to lie about that. I think these panels might answer a few of your questions about Shindou's intentions.
Of course, the panels above simply show an insight on Shindou's initial thoughts when he first took Toshio in. After they spend more time together, in the start of the "Left" volume, the first chapter ends with Shindou still wondering about the nature of their relationship.
As the chapters go on, I’m sure that while more questions are raised, some will also be answered, whether it be regarding Shindou’s feelings, Toshio’s identity, or where their relationship stands among it all.
I think seeing how their relationship is explored further in the following volumes is essential, and you'll also appreciate how Shindou's thoughts changed from volume 2 to the end of the sequels :))
Honestly, I want to go more in-depth about Shindou's feelings, but that might be more appropriate when we're all on the same boat story-wise. Hopefully I can sum up my thoughts better and share a short write-up when I finish uploading everything.

I understand Elvira is a character, but it is deeply uncomfortable the way you and that anon referred to the actress' actual body. I don't care that they change the neckline for the doll, I understand they're trying to make her appear more PG with the neckline change, but her having large breasts isn't inherently sexual. People who are frustrated with the inaccurate body aren't automatically perverts or only wanting to see her body. Many young girls going through puberty are sexualized for their body developing early. The body change is MH agreeing that large breasts are inherently sexual and should be changed in order to be "appropriate," which is wrong.
I understand you are trying to make a point about what other people would call the doll if it was more accurate, but even hypothetically bringing up "groomers" when talking about Elvira is in poor taste. Elvira actress is a queer woman, and the accusation of lgbt+ being "groomers" is a constant argument in homophoc hate speech. Her actress body isn't an inherently sexual thing that will "groom" kids. Again, I know you are not saying it, but just to bring it up in such an apathetic manner is shrugging off the issue instead of arguing against it. It's not just people being conservative and annoying. People like that are actively harmful to young girls and queer people. This is something people are allowed to fight back against because bodies or identities shouldn't be inherently deviant and must be censored for kids. Monster High took the cowardly route in changing Elvira's body shape. Their complacency is agreement that, yes, breasts are inherently sexual and large ones are inappropriate for anyone to have or too see.

And I don’t think that I’m shrugging off any grooming issue while saying that some people would make that accusation, I’m not saying I agree with it (especially as a bisexual woman) but it would most likely happen, I don’t think most people even know that Cassandra Peterson is queer so they might not even make that association, but Elvira is pretty promiscuity as is so I don’t even thing it would have anything to do with Cassandra’s queerness (of course people could bring that up but that may not be what people immediately think of)
I don’t like that they didn’t give her bigger boobs because 1. Super iconic thing about Elvira and 2. Yeah it’s a body type, it’s not like it would be that difficult for them to make a new mould for a collector doll (hi greta) also wasn’t there controversy bc bride of Frankenstein was on the younger sister body?? Like why was that a thing if it’s just a body type?
I’m not saying people aren’t allowed to fight back against it or anything but I do think the entire situation is a bit ridiculous like,, even if this brand is primarily targeted towards kids, this is an 18+ collector line that are mostly made for movies that kids shouldn’t even be watching in the first place
Looking at it from a company perspective it makes sense why mattel chose not to do it (especially with the recent stuff that’s been happening with some mga brands receiving backlash) because while it’s a different line it is still under the monster high brand which is meant for children and yeah boobs aren’t inherently a sexual thing they are just a body type and someone shouldn’t be sexualized just for having big boobs, but the thing is Elvira is kind of a sexual character and her boobs do play a part in that,, anyway whatever mattel chose to do it would be a loss situation and I think they just chose to go with what they thought was the least controversial route

I refuse to be belittled or lectured to about gun control from the administration that armed the taliban. If I need to spell it out for you pumpkin, I’ll be keeping my guns. The government can’t “buy back” what was never theirs and even so, they aren’t for sale. If you wanna send guys with “assault rifles” to take my “assault rifles” I’m pretty sure that’s a threat to my liberty and freedoms and I will respond appropriately to any attempted theft of my property, be it a criminal or government. Don’t like that? Change the constitution. Good luck getting the 2/3 of the senate to vote for it and then 3/4 of the states to sign off. Don’t like how we do things in America? Move to Mexico. You’ll love it there. Plenty of gun control. We definitely won’t miss you should you head south of the border. Canada won’t take you. They only accept people who can actually contribute to their country, both financially and economically.

It wasn’t until recently that I understood , what the depth of a comment I received from my Aunt held when she said she respected how noble it was that I became a stay at home mother. & the majority of the world will never understand. It’s one of those things you’ll never understand is like.. like what losing your home to a fire means, or losing a family member you loved with all of your life means. Because even at your very strongest, you watch things you can’t control happen. You trade money and the comfort of friends for a love you hope doesn’t fade. You hope you can give them a stable home. & You watch this attachment happen with your kids that only you will know because they physically have no capacity to remember anything except for extremes and you just hopes that you’re not giving extreme negativity. You watch literally everything materialistically you worked so hard for get stained, chipped, ripped, cut or broken but have no sureness in how exactly you’ll be able to replace any of it. You don’t make any money. Especially any money to replace these things. Or even to get the hygiene care you need to keep up with the new stress or even to rank with women of your age. You watch yourself desire to become the best at this job more than you’ve ever purely desired to become, and fail. or you feel like you’re failing. bc you snap. bc why do I tell you not to pull the whole toilet paper role put 10x a day for over 10 months. or you can’t draw a black marker line on literally 100 things in less than 2 minutes while I was in the bathroom that totals a loss of $3,000 and you can’t make out with your sister in the shower that’s weird. or you can’t eat lipgloss or smother yourself in all of your food. and you can’t touch your diaper. and you can’t touch knives and why have there been so many glass pieces in my feet I’ve walked around with for days multiple days a year and you can’t lock mommy outside until firemen show up and all the neighbors think I hunt myself even though I’m not even like that for anybody to see I don’t think.. why did they think that??? and you’re afraid to tell anybody bc they think they have the solution and you can’t tell them their wrong. and you live alone. but not alone but with minds that experience everything you’re experiencing but for the first time…. And you’re in charge of making it magical or else they might get your suicidal ideations. Holidays. Appointments. Taxes. Paperwork. every single cleaning detail. 98 hours+ a week. outdoors everyday, development everyday, enriching activities everyday, music for kids and appropriate adult music times everyday, shopping, fun activities and cooking that you have to include them in and when you do it takes 4x as long, good morning after goodnight . back hurting, wrists hurting, tailbone feels like it’s broken if you sit for too long, but you’ve been doing chores for so long on flat feet that your feet bone structure hurts and your hands rash even in summer for over washing, your butthole feels like it’s about to fall out if you sit in the toilet for too long on your phone. not to mention if you sit down anywhere they climb on you to regulate and it bothers you but it doesn’t until things start to fall or they start to wrestle you for your coffee. but if they’re not sitting on you they’re climbing in the counters and the tables to see what you tried to hide from them, or the couches and tables to jump off, even thought they have a huge slide that takes up all the play space. and it’s like whyyyy do you want to hurt your bodyy by trusting the world so hard just let me tell you yes or no and you see the future bc of this & then you’re afraid of being by yourself as a women outside with kids. you look over your shoulders every second , have a knife, a phone and a vape in all of your pockets, always making an escape plan. There’s never a break.
It’s not like anything regular you’ve ever known. It’s not even compatible. & it’s funny people even try to make comparisons. Bc this isn’t even the half of what it’s like to be a stay at home mom. This was just today.

INTRO
Hello! If you came here after reading my first blog post (not necessary but it would be funny if u wanted to see my struggle) welcome back! It’s nice to see you again! If you diDN’T read the last blog post (the disloyalty smh /lh) hello! Nice to make your acquaintance!
If you aren’t aware what I’m doing here (tbh same life is definitely,,, A Thing™ for sure), I essentially ventured out to learn about game development in JavaScript (a coding language, often paired with HTML and CSS if you weren’t aware which is completely fair). I have previously had experience with JS in terms of website development but never really for game development. For the sake of this post and the catered audience, I’m just gonna assume that you know JS and HTML and CSS and all that jazz. If you don’t, my sincerest apologies (/s,,, kinda).
(The title of the game and display of the current score would be what is controlled by html and css while everything in the black box would be controlled in js)
MAKING DECISIONS
So, first thing I had to figure out which IDE to use. Now this wasn’t too hard of a choice, as I already have multiple different IDEs with options for JS, html, and css (by multiple I mean 2, the accursed netbeans and the modern and sleek vscode). For this project, due to its simplicity and familiarity, I chose vscode (I was gonna give a whole outline as to what vscode is but I’m not getting paid to do that so no thank you).
After getting my IDE decided and figured out, I had to find out what game I wanted to create. Of course, as I am overly ambitious (which I must admit is one of my fatal flaws) My initial idea was “hey, why don’t I make a short, simplified version of pokemon or a fighter game like mortal kombat or smash?” y’know, like a fool. While these goals may have been achievable if I had multiple months to do this and no sense of procrastination, it simply wasn’t possible to pull off unless I wanted to neglect my studies and focus solely on the game.
After hitting that miserable realization, I made up a list of games that I could make in the amount of time given and the amount of motivation I had inside of me (which,,, is not a lot actually). My list eventually came down to these games:
Snake
Pong
That one offline dino game on google
Tetris
and Flappy Bird
Now all these games were doable, however, when it came to applying the things that I already knew, I would have to choose snake. As I had learned previously (not in the last blog post tho) how to control the movement of a shape based from keyboard input and object collision and everything of the sort, snake seemed like the easiest option to me.
HTML
After creating the project, I immediately created all the files and game them appropriate names (tho they deffo could’ve been better but eH ‘twas a lapse in judgment). First thing after creating all the files was to set up the html page.
Just like any html page, I included the basic tags. The DOCTYPE, meta tags, title, a link to the css page and a script to the js page, a header with the extremely (/s) original title and a body with a div to show the current score and a canvas to allow me to draw in (canvas being the only new thing that has anything to actually do with my game).
CSS
Now I won’t bore you with the css details as most of it iS just setting the font, font colour, centering elements, placing elements side by side, and all that jazz hOWEVER, one thing that ig is really cool even though it’s not my original code bc in no way, shape, or form am I this cRACKED at css, would be the title.

DISPLAY WINDOW
Now here’s where it gets into the fun bit. The first steps to actually be able to do anything would be create the display and context. (Just for a little bit of unnecessary context, the code being presented is not in order of the actual project it’s just been copied and pasted to show you what I want you to see like those illusionists or something)
First thing we must do is create a grid in our minds. In this imaginary grid, each square is 25 pixels by 25 pixels, which has been assigned to the blockSize. Next we choose the dimensions of the display, I chose 20 blocks x 20 blocks. Then, as I had been taught in the past, we create the variables that are meant to hold the display information which is the width and height of the window and the context of the page just so that we can manipulate the window.
In the update function (the function that reruns every time the setInterval tells it to. This is the thing that I talked about last blog post that allowed for either a higher or lower fps.) we set the background colour as black using fillStyle and we draw the rectangle (square??? a square is a rectangle right?? geometry was rough) using fillRect. The first 2 values are the x and y of the top left corner of the display while the next 2 values are to set the actual size of the window.
Now, you may be like “hey, my guy, respectfully, you talked about display and setting the height and width and context and setInterval and actually drawing the window, but what about all the stuff in the middle? The change direction and foodRando and everything?” and to you, loyal reader, I say hush. It will all be revealed in good time impatient child.
DRAWING THE SNAKE
Next, we draw the snake.
Now just like the display, we get the X and Y of the snake head (obv not hardcoded bc we dO want it to move unlike irl). Next thing we add into the update function (don’t let the screenshot fool you this iS still the same update function as the last one). We also get the colour for the snake (I went fancy for this one and decided to do a hex code instead of just like,,, ‘green’ even though both would’ve produced similar results) and update the x and y of the snake based off of some things that will be talked about later on. We then continue to use fillRect again to draw the head of the snake.
Now the next bit is a bit more complicated then everything else shown previously (but if u know coding then its genuinely not that bad lmAO it just looks a bit spooky). In the for loop, we essentially create the variable i (you’ll see this bad boy a lot) and cycle through all the entries in the snakeBody to draw the rest of the body of the snake that way the snake’s body isn’t a fixed size. And can be increased depending on the entries in snakeBody.
Next we have the for and if loop that’s placed before the snake display. The for loop is used when the snake is moving. Basically, every time the snake moves (and especially when the snake is turning) it allows the current section of the body to get the placement of the piece in front of it and replace it and moves down to the head which is placed using the if statement right after which is able to move (mostly) freely that way u can get those crisp 90 degree angles when your snake moves.
DRAWING THE FOOD
Finally, the last drawing piece, would be the food.
Just like all the parts before this, we start with initializing the variables that are to be used when finding the placement of the food. In the update function, we do the same thing we did as before, we set the colour using fillStyle and fillRect to place the food somewhere in the window.
Now finally, for the part that I told you guys to wait for, the meaning of foodRando. What foodRando does is that it finds a random place on the window using Math.floor to ensure that the number chosen is rounded down to a while number and Math.random to find that random place. The for loop is to ensure that the x and y coords of the piece of food isn’t inside the snake otherwise it reruns until it lands in an empty space. This is ran every time a piece of food is eaten and when the website first launches.
MOVING THE SNAKE
And now we talk about the other part of displayScreen that you were (or were not idk I can’t tell… or can I? No I can’t don’t worry you’re safe for now).
The next thing after being able to draw all these components to the window was to figure out how to actually move the snake. This is there the changeDirection comes into play. Inside displayScreen, we have an event listener which listens for when the user’s finger lifts off of an arrow on the keyboard, specified with ‘keyup’. Once that action takes place, the event listener runs changeDirection which takes in an event. in this event, we determine which key was pressed and move it according to the key that was pressed by changing vX and vY which is just the velocity. -1 in the Y variable means up while 1 means down. In the X variable, -1 is left and 1 means right. For both, 0 means just not moving.
But what is the && for? If you recall from all those years ago (it’s okay grandparent I get it ‘back in your day’ or whatever) the snake can’t go from going up from going down immediately, same with left and right. This is because, if the snake were able to do that, it would just eat itself (and break its spine which isn’t really the best but who am I to judge) and immediately end the game. The && is meant to prevent that from happening. It’s a check to basically say “if you wanna do this, first we gotta make sure you ain’t doing the forbidden move”.
SCORING AND GAME END
Lastly (if you’re still here, hOLAY I’m barely even still here lmAO how do you dO it what is the sECRET?), dealing with collisions that cause the game end and keeping and increasing score.
For this last stretch, we state the variables for keeping score and ending the game, score and gameEnd. If you recall from the very beginning in displayScreen and in the html, there was some part with score in it. document.getElementById(“score”) is taking the variable from the js file and displaying it in the html so the reader gets some sort of validation beyond their snake getting longer (firstly, haha innuendo don’t look too deep into it. secondly, talk ab parental problems or something lmAO just like me frfr).
Next in the update function, we have the first if condition. In this condition we’re just specifying that, if gameEnd, the variable used to tell if the user has lost or not, is true, we end the game and restart using history.go (that’s something new that I learned I am but a tiny child) the page to allow the user to play again. The next if we have is to recognize when the snake has become fed and increase it’s size (like chickens to the slaughter) and increase the score. Once we have done that, we rerun foodRando, generating another piece of food.
Finally, we enter the game end conditions. The first if statement is used to identify whether the head of the snake has hit the wall (like the tiktok sound or something idk). The for statement after that is recognize that if the head of the snake hits another part of the snake, that means it’s game over. For both, it recognizes game end by changing gameEnd to true and then sending an alert to the user (with a kinda mean message I’m sorry but not really) informing the player that they had lost the game.
CONCLUSION
In the end, this game was fun to make! I think if I were to go back and restart the game or add additional features, I would include things that I wanted to but was too overwhelmed to add like a menu where you can choose your display settings or maybe just a whole different project as this one seemed a bit simplistic and easy :P. While coding I realized just how similar this is to java or any coding language really. Truthfully, the only difference would be that of drawing the shapes and figuring out logic behind collisions and the syntax but everything else: the if and for statements, the functions, and logic behind everything is still the same. I think that was why I would’ve appreciated if I took on a harder game or task but, in the end, it was pretty fun to play with.
THE FINAL PRODUCT

my thoughts on the rings of power teaser: overwhelmingly positive. here’s why…
1. first off, I say all this as an avid lover of tolkien, who has read not only the hobbit and lotr multiple times, but the silmarillion multiple times as well… and I’ve read a decent bit from the histories of middle-earth series, too. I know some elvish. I can write in tengwar. I could go a few rounds against steve colbert in trivia before he’d beat me. I am not gatekeeping at all, but I’m just saying I’m not a super casual fan and I know what I’m talking about.
2. LOVE the name. I think it’s really smart to preface it with “the lord of the rings” because let’s be TOTALLY honest—how many randos out there KNOW that tolkien wrote anything besides the hobbit/lotr? instant gateway for more casual fans. and the rings of power? fantastic. love it. looks good on a shelf or whatever. it’s a little repetitive but tbqh no one is going to use the full title, we’re all gonna end up calling it ROP or whatever anyway.
2. the fact that the teaser for the title is NOT CGI, but PRACTICAL EFFECTS, is very encouraging to me. it’s only the title sequence and they’re going balls to the wall? oh man sign me up. keep delighting me. my hopes are high that it won’t be a CGI-ridden mess. blows a kiss to the hobbit I love you very much but you know what you did.
3. the music. the MUSIC. very reminiscent of howard shore—not sure if he’s working on this show, but I have heard if it’s not him it might be bear mccreary who I would also trust with my life. I vibe to the outlander soundtracks on a regular basis.
4. GALADRIEL MY QUEEN. I love cate blanchett with all my heart, but her version of galadriel doesn’t have to be the only version. excited to see what morfydd clark brings to the role. I love love love the silmarillion elves and I really hope we get to see the younger, fiery, passionate side of the noldor elves, and not just a simple recreation of the all-encompassing mournfulness of the elves of the third age. I want to see more elves like tauriel! sure she was extracanonical, but she represented what tolkien showed elves to be like in the silmarillion more than any of the others.
5. the multi-language title video had some TENGWAR at the end, and man oh man that delighted me so much. I don’t actually know much sindarin (my singular failing) but it looks like it says “hîr i chorvath | corvath bâl.” all I know is that “hîr” means lord lmao. so far so good? the part that REALLY struck me was that they took the TIME and the CARE to use beleriand mode tengwar as opposed to later tengwar, which shows that they did their RESEARCH on what would be appropriate to the second age. gives me hope. and to those who complain about “inaccurate translations”: tolkien invented enough sindarin words to cover less than 1% of the english language. you’re never going to get an accurate translation, ever. there aren’t enough words for that. sit down.

May I request some of the bros, specially Mammon, Luci and Satan, with a MC who's similar to Lucifer in some aspects (like, some of their manners are the same as his and sometimes they're little bit too strict) and after a while they discover that its bc MC is also an older sibling. And (only if you want) meeting their younger sibling, please 🙏

It doesn't occur to Lucifer how similar the two of you are, but the first thing he realizes is how pleasant conversations with you can be. You both share common interests, your tastes suit his own, and you seem to be the only competent person in this house.
You're the responsible type, and he likes it. He'll sometimes find you scolding his brothers for their behavior too, and as amusing of a sight as that may be, he doesn't want you to be burdened with their idiocy.
AND you're the eldest sibling in your household? Cheers to that. You too know the weight of being the responsible oldest, and the role one must take to ensure their siblings grow up well. You too know that you'd rather your siblings have things easier than you did.
But there's one thing he finds annoying... You can NEVER speak your feelings, and act as if it’d kill you to do so. He can respect secrecy when it's appropriate, but Lucifer would like to know what's on your mind. Not only that, but you can be HORRIBLY headstrong. There's nothing that can stray you away from what you've already decided.
"MC, I request that you take a few days off from school to do as you please. I've already spoken with Diavolo and your professors, and you've been given an excuse. I know you'll study anyway, so I've dropped off your assignments in your room. But... you should rest. It isn't good for you to be pushing yourself so hard. Hm? You're calling me a hypocrite?"
Mammon
As if one Lucifer wasn't enough. Now there's TWO of em?! Why's his luck gotta be so lousy!
Definitely the first to realize how much like Lucifer you are, and was SHOOK. Seriously, what gives?! What horrors exist in the human world that could've made you like THAT..?
Ever since you showed up, it's been impossible to get away with anything! He can't sneak out of the house because you're always there somehow, you tattle on him when you catch him leaving anyone's room, and you won't even let him copy your homework! What gives?!
Avoids you like the plague. You're no fun! There's only rare moments when you're kinda okay, and he likes those the best. The times when you're kinda sensitive and you'll drop the high and mighty act. But then you're back to being a pest!
"For the billionth time, I ain't got time to study! There's money to be made, and a guy like me ain't gonna waste a second lookin' at a dumb book when I could be- H-Huh?! You're gonna call Lucifer?! N-now, there's no need to be so hasty, right? Oi!! I'm sorry, damn it-!"
Levi
What's the deal with Lucifer number two? As comedic of a trope as that may be, Levi doesn't really care for having two nagging types in the house. Especially a human...
When you're in his room, all you do is nitpick about how he should tidy up and open a window! Don't you know that an otaku's room is his pride and joy?! It's a sacred space not to be trampled on by the opinions of a normie!!!
But still... he has to admit that even if you don't get all the stuff he's talking about, you at least try to understand it. And there are even some of his interests that you're genuinely invested in!
You might be a pain in the neck and harass him about annoying things, but he guesses he can deal with it if you'll actually sit through a TSL marathon with him...
"I-I'll lend you this manga, so make sure you read it! And when you're finished with that, I'll lend you the spin-off series by the author's brother! I know you'll like it, since you're interested in gritty stuff. Oh, and- Huh? My laundry? Y-yeah.... I'll do that.."
Satan
You are... surprisingly good company. Satan enjoys talking to you over afternoon tea, and the two of you share stories between one another.
But still, he can't shake the feeling that there's something... unpleasantly familiar about your personality. It isn't until you say something that sounds suspiciously similar to what Lucifer would say that he realizes who you remind him of. And oh, he hates it.
Tries playing pranks on you, but somehow they never go to plan. How that is is beyond him, but you never fall for anything! No matter how sweet his smile, you're always rightfully suspicious. You're annoyingly meticulous about checking your surroundings, and you're so aware of yourself that it's troublesome! Be more gullible!!
The king of petty has decided that its now his life goal to make you fall for at least one of his pranks. He doesn't care how elaborate he has to make it, or how unrewarding the payoff may be. He'll make you pay for seeing his brother in two places at once.
"MC, would you like to join me this afternoon for a book reading? Though, I'd love it if you could read this book in particular. I think you'll find it very-.... Hm? 'Isn't this the cursed book that makes you grow hair all over your body', you ask? Ahaha.... tch."
Asmo
Come now, there can't be TWO killjoys in the house! That's way too depressing!! It was funny at first to see that there's someone who can match the scary Lucifer's energy, but now it's becoming a nuisance!
You won't even go to the countless parties he's invited you to! Hell, you barely even give yourself room to mess around a little? Isn't it boring being so tightly wound? You're in luck, because the adorable Asmo-chan knows the PERFECT way to let loose~
You'll RARELY let him close to you, and that's usually when you're tired of him harassing you. Then he gets the honor of playing with your hair while you've got no energy to fight back! He'll style it wonderfully for you!
Also nags you to take better care of yourself. You're not a demon, so you have to care for your health! These late night study sessions are giving you bags under your eyes! And stop taking on so many extracurricular activities!
"Geez, MC! I didn't think you'd die from overworking, but that's the path you're headed on! You really are like Lucifer, you know? That being said, I'll do my best to make sure you relax! Shall we begin~?"
Beel
Beel may not be too bothered by Lucifer's strictness, but that doesn't mean he's immune to it. To think that even a human can be like that...
It's nice to see that you can take care of yourself, but aren't you working too hard? Your grades are good and you've got many interesting talents, but you also have to properly rest.
Has started bringing you snacks on the regular. And don't even think about skipping meals, because he won't allow it. He'll literally pick you up and bring you to the table if he has to. And if you're staying up late to study? He'll carry you to bed. Don't try to protest.
Beel is your babysitter now and there's nothing you can do about it. It's good to be responsible, but don't think about trying to take care of everyone else if you can't care for yourself. Now eat these twelve meat buns he bought for you.
"MC, let's eat lunch together. I know you were going to skip because I heard you talking to Solomon earlier, and I won't let you. Ah, don't worry about not having money, because I've already bought you some lunch. Let's eat in the courtyard."
Belphie
NO.... IT CAN'T BE... THIS HAS TO BE A NIGHTMARE....HE WANTS TO WAKE UP....
You're such a drag. You harass him to attend student council meetings, but him about his studies, and won't let him avoid a single obligation he has. What are you, his mother?
Has 100% joined forces with Satan to try to make you fall for many, many unsuccessful pranks. Are you curse proof or something? When he tried a '10 hour bed-head' spell on you, it just rebounded right to him! Then he found out that you'd borrowed a spell repelling amulet from Solomon and realized just how prepared you are...
When you aren't bothering his entire soul by trying to make him do things, you're actually nice to talk to. You're knowledgeable, you pay attention to the people around you, and you can always read a room. He likes to ask you for advice sometimes.
"Aren't you tired of being like that all the time? So... attentive, I mean. You should just take a nap some time. Or better yet, take the week off. Maybe I'll teach you how to properly relax? Then you might finally be able to take that stick out of your- ow... What're you hitting me for?"

bumblebabies !!
buckle in everyone this got a little long!!
((just gonna reuse some old pics))
Yue (yoo-eh) is the first-born!! Her motif is all about moon imagery, and she’s loosely based off the goddess of the moon/combat/revolution Mayari from philippine mythology. Inherited Yang’s wild unruly hair which she kept short for most of her childhood for easy management, but learned to embrace it and grew it out when she got older.
She’s quite mild-mannered, friendly, and exceptionally perceptive— which plays into her semblance, which is enhanced perception. Kinda like Maria’s preflexes, but not exactly. She can make the choice to react, vs. maria’s semblance which seems more….automatic action?? reflexive, like she’s not thinking about it, while Yue can see the path leading to the outcome of say, a person or object’s movement before it happens, thus allowing her to react appropriately in the moment. This is a semblance that was triggered when she was a child taking her role of older sister very seriously. And while yes, it was to make sure she could protect her little sister from getting hurt…. It was also to protect others from her little sister and her pranking schemes.
With a non-physical semblance, she’s somewhat of a weapons nut much like her Aunt Ruby. The bigger the better. It must also be a gun. She reads engineering manuals for fun and has definitely taken a microwave apart in curiosity to examine the pieces, as well as many different household appliances. Has probably also taken apart her moms’ weapons just cause she could. She carries a remarkable knowledge in dust thanks to her Aunt Weiss.
Tara (tah-rah) is about 2-3 younger than Yue, and is all about star imagery for her motif. She’s based off the mythological phillipine goddess of the stars Tala (who in turn is based off the hindu goddess Tara) and in different sources is either Mayari’s sister or daughter. Outwardly she’s the quieter, calmer of the Xiao Long-Belladonna kids. Do not be fooled— she is an agent of chaos. You’ve been warned.
She looks like a sweet little angel who could do no wrong… until you realize she’s the one who planted a self-destructing glitter bomb in the backseat of your car. That bucket of water that fell over your head when you opened a door?? Tara’s doing. Whoopee cushion when you sit down to eat breakfast? also tara. Anyone and everyone can be a target, and she’ll do it all with a calm smile on her face. tbh she’ll still have that smile when she’s caught. Her semblance is fire-based like Yang’s, able to generate balls of flame. Maybe they explode. Maybe they don’t. (i’m still working out the details lol)
Despite many of her pranks being foiled by her older sister when they were kids, she very much looks up to Yue, and does defer to her judgement and knowledge in uncertain situations.
RANDOM HCS AND TIDBITS:
Just in case y’all haven’t seen this post, Weiss loves the girls. One could argue she loves them more than Yang and Blake themselves. She absolutely spoils them rotten.

Yue makes a cameo in my sister @pugoata’s bumbleby fic Banshee and its subsequent oneshot!! I am honored that she asked me if she could include her in her universe
In Banshee au Yue is also a banshee and Tara is a phooka!!
Bc i can do what i want, the girls’ eyes also change color when they use their semblance, like Yang
Yue’s are deep red like Raven’s, Tara’s are pale red/reddish-pink like Qrow’s
Yue has a deep sense of justice like Blake does
Tara remembers everything and even if you think you’ve been forgiven, she will remember and get back at you anywhere from weeks to months later. Then you’ll be even
older Tara definitely has an undercut (the similarity to catradora baby finn from she-ra was completely coincidental and actually predates the first public art of them)
Idk yet what Yue’s weapon is aside from BIG but Tara’s may be bladed tonfa? I’m a sucker for dual wielding
