Attention Soaked
Date: 2 June 2020
Duration: 1 hour at 10:26 pm
Depth: This note was written soon after the session-
‘This was a somewhat different session than all the others so far. The shakings have been on for a while. This session’s shakings were different from all the others so far.
Today, I genuinely felt as if I was able to withstand the humongous energy that the kundalini is proving itself to be. Today’s shakings began much later than usual in the session. Also, they never really became violent. I wasn’t able to remain poised through the sessions that had shakings, up until tonight.
Right towards the end of this session, I felt cemented to the meditation technique. My attention felt cemented to the Hong Sau. As if I wouldn’t be able to move it away even if I tried. In fact, while trying to exhale a particular way in order to close the session, I ended up inviting another shake. And this came out of an inability to get the attention off the Hong Sau.’

Heartstopper Vol 3 by Alice Oseman
I woke up, took care of Xander as he doesn't feel the best so we slept in a little bit, then mid morning texted Chelsea (chelseareads_) so we could start our buddy read of Volume 3!
This book was purchased by my friend. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
Genre: Young Adult Graphic Novel
Published Date: 2.6.2020
Publisher: Hodder Children's Books
Rep: Queer, Coming of Age
Content Warning: Bullying, Eating Disorders, Self-Harm
“There's this idea that if you're not straight, you have to tell all your family and friends immediately, like you owe it to them. But you don't. You don't have to do anything until you're ready.”
If you haven't read this adorable YA graphic novel, you need to pick it up immediately. It's such a fluffy, feel good read that makes you feel all sorts of ways. This was probably my favorite so far as it really touched on a lot of issues that were issues I went through as a child such as eating disorders, and self harm. I think Alice captured this trauma in a relatable way and gave Charlie an outlet in Nick to feel safe and not judged for his pain.
I enjoyed their trip to Paris, I love the fact that Harry got what the fuck was coming to him. I loved the character growth and the open and honest communication (for the most part). Nick is seriously the best bi cinnamon roll of all time. I needed this.
5/5 Stars!

If you or someone else are in an emergency situation, do not consult this post for help. Instead, contact your local emergency number and allow them to instruct you through the process. (This warning might not apply to those of you at protests. If you’re at a protest and have been tear gassed, there will likely be fellow protesters with materials that can help you. Ask them first - unfortunately, local organizations won’t do much in this scenario.)

Today’s Question: What first aid techniques can be used for tear gas?
Tear gas is currently used, even on peaceful protesters, in many countries around the world. It is, however, banned in wartime. I thought, especially now, that this post is important to make in support of those who are protesting the loss of black lives at the hands of police. This account and its owner stand in full support of current protesters, and remind you to stay safe and remember that we are in a pandemic, so it’s best to keep relative distance from other protesters if you can.
Tear gas, according to Wikipedia, “irritates mucous membranes in the eyes, nose, mouth and lungs. It causes crying, sneezing, coughing, difficulty breathing, pain in the eyes, and temporary blindness.” Especially if you are at a protest, it will be obvious if you have been attacked with tear gas, given your surroundings. Police may begin putting on gasmasks right before they begin spraying tear gas, so if this occurs, move away if possible, and put on protective gear. It’s important to bring masks and goggles to protests, as well as long clothing, so that the least amount of tear gas touches your skin. Do not wear your contacts.
First, try to avoid panic. This will only make your symptoms worse. Try not to touch or rub your face as well.
Expose yourself to fresh air. A fan or breeze is good. Move away if possible and get higher than the tear gas clouds.
Spit, blow your nose, rinse your mouth out, etc. Try not to swallow. Remove clothing with the material on it, and put cold water on yourself if you can. If you don’t have goggles or a mask, you can breathe the uncontaminated air inside your shirt.
When cleaning your skin, use soap that cuts through grease, like dish soap. Otherwise, the material may remain there.
Make sure to thoroughly flush your eyes out with water as well.
Anyone assisting you should wear gloves and cover themselves so that they are not exposed to any of the material.
Liquid antacid mixed with water is also a good soothing method. I have also heard that the lubricant found in condoms is effective as well, although I cannot find a source for this, so I would recommend the former beforehand, as that has scientific proof behind it.
If you want to stop tear gas at its root, many protesters have been known to place traffic cones, stoppered with a gloved hand, over canisters. This has been popularized by Hong Kong protesters especially.
Remember that many undercover protesters are cops - they will usually have handcuffs in their pockets, police boots on their feet, a coloured band on their arm to identify each other, and will have a vest under their shirt. Also remember that random piles of bricks are meant to incite violence and should not be used by protesters, as police will be watching them for those who do take bricks and use them.
Above all, stay safe. You are supported by so many.
Stay tuned for tomorrow’s post on how to deal with different fractures!
