the halo show is baffling because it would be so much better if they just didnt make the master chief the main character. like you can still have him on the posters or whatever, & have action scenes with him, but trying to follow the narrative of events leading up to Halo: CE while also having As Little Covenant Presence in the series as possible is so silly.
Just make an original spartan & team. silver team is fun but theyre desperately weighed down by the master chief in this show. I dont even mind the 'ahh heres an evil human covenant lady !!!' plot but the shows writing is very scattershot & its got more misses than hits

I finally watched Nimona the other night (really good btw, highly recommend!) and something I kept on thinking throughout the movie is that Nimona's hair style is literally what TMNT 2012 tried to do with Karai's hair but Nimona did it better because she's got an actual visible hairline!
Like a friend of mine pointed out to me how Karai’s hair just kinda flops down across her head. None of the pieces of her hair are broken up in sections, no hairline, so they all look like they are one solid piece that’s on her head. The back of her hair and her bangs are connected like a Lego’s hair.
Nimona’s hair has layers and an obvious hairline. It broken up so you can see where certain parts of the hair start and end so they aren’t one piece of hair all together, if that makes sense.

I love in TMNT whenever they animate the ribbons of their masks flicking around like it's hair. It's just very visually satisfying to me like yesssss fabric yayyy!!!

Got tired of piecing by hand after like 8 hst blocks lol. So I sat down with my beautiful and heavy sewing machine to finally work out the tension issues.* I've also already deviated from my original plan to just sew a bunch of hst oriented in the same direction together to this diamond and triangle pattern and before someone tells me there is a much less labor intensive way of working it I know! This is where indecision gets a person! Also it's my first quilt so..
*by work out the issues I mean I sat down with her and it was miraculously working perfectly. I am now too scared to put her back in the box out of fear she will start skipping stitches again and have decided to name her Superstition.

thinking abt how in 'a night we'll never forget' the moment the views pick up in both official uploads of the song is when the 'crackerjack' demo melody + tone kicks in. it's certainly interesting that even tho ppl diss 1988 4 being a hot mess they still rlly like it when one of the messiest numbers is included in the revival, even if 4 a brief moment...

The real apocalypse of 2012 was the Republicans taking the House and killing all funding and support for walking, biking, and alternative transportation, despite (or perhaps as backlash to) the fact that there was a 60 percent increase in biking to work (notably among young urban progressives) in the US between 2008 and 2012 (which itself was likely caused in part by the recession).

Nebraska (2013, Alexander Payne)
20/02/2024
Nebraska is a 2013 film directed by Alexander Payne, starring Bruce Dern.
Presented in competition at the 66th edition of the Cannes Film Festival, the film received the award for Best Male Performance given to actor Bruce Dern.
Woody Grant decides to travel from Montana to Nebraska on foot. His wife Kate is against the trip, but will agree to come to the town where she previously lived where her husband and son stopped before reaching the city of Lincoln.
Filming of the film began in October, ended on December 7, 2012 and took place in the state of Nebraska. This is the fourth Alexander Payne film to be shot in Nebraska, the state where the director himself was born; the other films are Citizen Ruth, Election and About Schmidt. The film was shot entirely in black and white.
The film's budget was approximately $13 million.
Actors Gene Hackman, Robert Forster, Jack Nicholson and Robert Duvall were initially considered for the lead role. Bryan Cranston also auditioned for the lead role, but the director didn't think he was right for the part.
