You sat on you living room floor talking to your bestfriend, going over your past; crushes, relationships, goals, dreams and what not. It has really been 4 years. Damn, and you're over him, but Honnie just can't help but keep bringing him up. You've moved on, not with anyone in particular, but by working and working with yourself. You're doing good and you're not looking for a relationship, you just want to make this next project sale.

" Y/n..."

"Honnie don't start-"

"I know, I know, but he've changed."

"My goodness, Y/n" Honnie put the multi colored card box down on your coffee table, and made his way to the kitchen grabbing one of the sodas you had in hand.

Hong joong checked his phone.

"Shit, shit, shit I only got 15 min!" Hon made his way to the front door, grabbing his keys off the key hooks.

"I love you too Honnie. Now leave before you're late." You giggled before waving goodbye.

Hong joong gave a small wave, before he hurriedly made his way out your front door, downing his soda.

"He's something else." You stretched your arms, just ready for bed.

"Goodnight Abyss." It's 8:30pm you said your goodnights to your home putting trash away and making your way to you room, getting ready for the next day.

I remember THE OCTOBER OF 2020, having multiple mental breakdowns in a day, sleep deprived, having to finish Ten 100 marks assignments within 20 days, and listening to "THE SONG OF ACHILLES" as i did the assignments

and on the day of submission, i was finished with the last of the assignments at midnight, i had to submit all 10 in 11am. I finally picked up a paint brush in two weeks and painted.

at 4:00am i finished the audiobook "The song of Achilles" read by Jenny Juniper. I was sobbing, trying to muffle my cries so my mother doesnt wake up, i borrowed myself into the blanket and cried till i fell asleep.

After a week i found out all those assignments, those sleepless nights, those hand cramps, those faint spell, panic attacks, mental breakdowns were for nothing. The government issued new assignments, 2 subjects per week. The cycle was looser this time. But all my hard work was down the drain.

I listened to this song over and over and over again. Until i memorized it, i would sing this song walking through my empty corridor, in my empty house, in the middle of quarentine with no friends to even ask me if i was alive.

This song tastes like the October chill, the blanket, the allnighters, mental breakdowns. After maybe 2 or 3 years, this song pooped up again in my yt page. Almost ugly cried again.

The study of 18,000 children who were treated at 49 pediatric hospitals in the U.S. between 2004 and 2020 found that those who had cranial surgery, which involves removing or disconnecting the brain portion where seizures occur, were 83% more likely to be alive after 10 years. Children who received vagus nerve stimulation, or VNS, which involves implanting a device under the skin of the chest or neck to send electrical impulses to the brain, were 35% more likely to be alive. All of the patients were taking anti-seizure medications, because the drugs help to reduce their occurrence, even if they don’t end seizures entirely. Birth Control 101: Choosing The Best Contraceptive Method For You

There's short-acting, long-acting, and barriers of protection. Which one suits you?

I remember the day of my wedding…when I started feeling my contraception ring coming out of my vagina. I had only recently started using the ring even though I was more used to taking the pill. There I was in the bathroom stall with one of my bridesmaids, and she was literally helping to guide my ring back up into my vagina because I could feel it slipping out of me. Although quite embarrassing, let's just say that we're forever bonded by that experience. So, have you ever tried a new birth control method that wasn't the best for you but it seemed to work well for others?

During a recent interview with Board Certified Obstetrician & Gynecologist, Dr. Chimsom Oleka, she provided a list of all of the birth control methods currently available, which can potentially serve as a starting point for those of you who may be exploring new contraceptive methods.* As you continue reading, you'll notice that the list is organized based on what Dr. Oleka refers to as Short-acting (hormonal and non-hormonal), to Long-acting, to Barriers of Protection.

Before we dive into the list, let's first clarify specifically what birth control does. As. Dr. Oleka explained, for most methods, birth control releases certain hormones in your body which contributes to the ultimate end goal: block ovulation or keep an egg from being released, thicken the mucus in the cervix so that sperm can't pass through, and/or thin the lining of the uterus, which decreases chances of implantation. Each birth control method is designed to do each or all of these things, but depending on the method, they will either do them better, worse, or not at all.

Choosing The Best Birth Control Method For You

SHORT-ACTING BIRTH CONTROL METHODS

Note: Throughout this section, you will notice references related to "continuous" or "extended" usage. As Dr. Olekaexplained, many of us have a false idea of what the period is supposed to do. Contrary to popular belief in terms of what our menstrual cycle does and why it's "necessary" every month, ultimately its main purpose is for pregnancy. That's it.

As Dr. Oleka expertly pointed out, "It's the birth control's period, not your period. Your birth control will start stimulating the lining and doing all of the things that cause you to bleed." So, as long as you have a hormone that's assisting with protecting and keeping your uterus lining thin, and as long as you've consulted your physician beforehand, then you don't have to necessarily worry about shedding the lining every month (i.e. having a period).

Consider, for example, women who have bleeding disorders (i.e. their bodies bleed too much or won't stop bleeding), female athletes, as well as those who may suffer with things such as menstrual migraines…situations like these support the case for continuous or extended methods.

Method: Birth Control Pill (Hormonal - Estrogen and Progesterone)

How It's Administered: Self-ingested orally, daily

Efficacy: 7 to 9% failure rate (i.e., approximately 1 in 10 will get pregnant)

Description & Overview:

Birth control pills usually come in 28-day pill packs (four rows of seven pills) including a week of placebo, non-active pills. There are different variations as well, but it's critical that you take it every day at the same time.

The most commonly used pill has both estrogen and progesterone. With estrogen, it tends to help provide more stability of the lining. However, some people may not want estrogen or they may have an underlying medical issue that conflicts with the estrogen. There is a risk of blood clots, although fairly low, but the risk of this goes up when you're pregnant. With the pill, it helps regulate the bleeding, which in turn, helps make it predictable. It's known to have protective benefits such as helping to decrease risk of certain cancers and it can help reduce symptoms related to fibroids.

Also, you can use this method, as well as other methods, continuously or in an extended way so that you can delay or skip the bleeding (i.e. going on vacation). For example, if you wanted to try an extended use, then you could delay the withdrawal bleeding (period) for a set number of weeks or months by skipping the last row for let's say two months. Then, you would take the last row of inactive pills the third month, so that you would only bleed approximately every 10 weeks.

On the other hand, if you're someone who decides "I don't want to bleed at all," then you could skip the last row of inactive pills and move forward with starting the new pack each month. Keep in mind, if you don't bleed or you bleed too heavily already, there may be other medical issues going on, so as always, you'll want to consult your physician about this.

Side effects can vary, but some of the most common side effects include: nausea, breast tenderness, and initial irregular bleeding.

Method: Birth Control Pill (Hormonal - Progesterone Only)

How It's Administered: Self-ingested orally, daily

Efficacy: 7 to 9% failure rate

Description & Overview:

This method basically works pretty much the same as the first pill mentioned above, but it doesn't include estrogen. It only includes progesterone.

Progesterone-only pills can be harder for some women to use because you have to be really consistent. If the daily pill ingestion time is missed by as little as three hours, then it loses its efficacy. Hence, it's critical that you take the pill every day at the same time.

With the progesterone-only pill, there's also a greater chance of irregular bleeding. Hence, this method is usually recommended by the physician if there are estrogen-related conflicting medical issues.

Method: Vaginal Ring (Hormonal – Estrogen and Progesterone)

How It's Administered: Self-inserted through Vagina

Efficacy: 7 to 9% failure rate

Description & Overview:

The vaginal ring is a soft, flexible ring approximately two inches wide and four centimeters thick that is self-inserted and removed in/out of the vagina. Some women will tie a string to the ring and there's also an applicator that can be used to assist with insertion and removal.

The vaginal ring stays in for three weeks and releases hormones every day. Once removed for seven days, it allows withdrawal bleeding (period) to occur. Then, a new ring is inserted every four weeks. This method can be used continuously if you bypass the seven days and move forward with inserting the new ring every three or four weeks, or in an extended way if you bypass the seven days every few months or so.

The ring has been known to cause breakthrough or irregular bleeding. Not to mention, there are times when the ring can slip out during sex, which of course can directly impact the efficacy.

Method: Copper IUD (Non-hormonal)

How It's Administered: Inserted vaginally by physician (through opening of cervix, into the uterus)

Efficacy: Less than 1% failure rate

Description & Overview:

Similar to the IUD previously mentioned, the copper IUDis a latex-free, t-shaped, plastic piece but it also includes areas of exposed copper. By releasing copper salts into your body, the copper tricks the uterus into thinking something foreign is inside, creating an appearance of a "chaotic" environment in your system, which ultimately blocks sperm and prevents reproduction. It can last for 10 years, but it has been known to be effective for up to 12 years.

The copper IUD is ideal for someone who doesn't want to deal with hormones, or someone who is certain they don't want children for a long time. There are instances where it can be used as emergency contraception but it won't work if something has already been implanted.

Because this method doesn't affect ovulation, this method is also ideal for women who want to continue bleeding or women within certain cultures where the idea of contraception isn't readily accepted. This can serve as contraception method without anyone else truly knowing that you're taking it because you will still have a period as normal.

The most common side effects usually include more painful cramping or heavier bleeding.

Method: Contraceptive Implant (Hormonal – Progesterone Only)

How It's Administered: Implanted in arm by physician

Efficacy: Less than 1% failure rate (the most effective method)

Description & Overview:

The contraceptive implant is a flexible, plastic rod that's placed inside the upper arm. It's small and thick - approximately 4 cm long and 2 mm thick. It releases hormones daily, and lasts for three years, although recent data shows it may last longer than that. After three years, you get a new one if you choose to do so. Otherwise, you will return back to your baseline fertility.

Some of the most common side effects can include irregular bleeding, no bleeding (approximately 6%), or heavier bleeding. For those who experience irregular bleeding, there are ways to decrease it and make it more manageable. Also, there are rare occasions where, if placed improperly, it can shift or migrate.

BARRIERS OF PROTECTION** BIRTH CONTROL METHODS

The most common effects for any of the following methods can include vaginal discharge and irritation. After the use of these, the return to fertility is usually fairly quick.

As it relates to a lot of these barriers of protection, Dr. Oleka likes to think of it this way, "Condoms should be used more so for STD and HIV/AIDS protection, and less for pregnancy prevention." Nevertheless, they are still considered methods for both pregnancy and STD/HIV prevention.

Method: Male Condom (Non-hormonal)

How It's Administered: Applied by male on his penis

Efficacy: 15% failure rate (research across the board states this although it seems quite questionable by both the expert and the writer)

When to Apply: Right before sex

Description & Overview:

Condoms are usually latex or you can opt for lambskin if you're allergic to latex. However, anything non-latex has been known to be less effective in preventing pregnancy as well as STDs. With condoms, common things like inconsistent use, slippage during sex, and the risk of it tearing are a few factors that can directly impact the overall efficacy.

The Boondocks #30: “The Uncle Ruckus Reality Show” | March 23, 2008, - 10:30PM | S02E15 Aired on Teletoon. Aired on Adult Swim May 30, 2020 @12:00AM

Eagle-eared viewers of last week’s episode may remember dialogue suggesting Uncle Ruckus having his own reality show on BET. BET was established as being actually evil, actively trying to harm black people with it’s programming. This episode follows that one, but also gives you an ample introduction to the concept of BET as an evil force in case you didn’t catch the first episode. I genuinely wonder if these two episodes were intended to be run back to back or what.

A connection I failed to make while covering the first episode is that Wedgie Rudlin is a parody of Reginald Hudlin, who LITERALLY HAS AN EXECUTIVE PRODUCER CREDIT ON THE BOONDOCKS. He helped develop the pilot. So, the man they are mocking (the part where he instructs the entire boardroom to take out a copy of the Black Panther comic he wrote and read it feels particularly scathing to me) is also legally recognized as an Executive Producer for this show. Hilarious.

This episode is pretty great. It’s just Uncle Ruckus being Uncle Ruckus, which is to say he’s saying all the things every single one of you racist bastards is thinking but are too chicken to say out loud. He shows off his shrine to people my father unironically also has photos of (Except for Manilow, replace that with a photo of himself shaking hands with Newt Gingrich). The plot is basically Ruckus believes that he is actually white, so he goes to one of them Ancestry experts and has his DNA tested. He finds out he’s extremely African and has an existential crisis (102 percent African with a 2 percent margin of error - GREAT JOKE). He eventually attempts suicide, which is the funniest scene: they cut from him hanging up the noose in his house to the camera crew ghoulishly capturing it.

It ends sorta predictably, where BET has the doctor redo Ruckus’ test with new results, bringing back the status quo of the show. But that’s okay, this one’s about the hang more than anything. There are good Ruckus episodes, but this might the SIGNATURE Uncle Ruckus episode. It’s also a very funny episode in general. Best of the season? Maybe?? I don’t feel like figuring it out so I’ll just say “Maybe??”!

a "wurst", if you will? LOL

LOL. The man is a treasure, I’m not sure I can think of a least favorite. There was a thing he does very infrequently that always gets me, which is that Tom will say “excuse me?” and the Wurster character says “did you fart?” like it’s the most clever thing ever said.

Okay, this is a mild cop-out, but the time he DID NOT make me laugh was when I had a VHS compilation of Bob and David stuff, and it included the Superchunk video for “Watery Hands”. The joke of the video is that David Cross and Girl David Cross make a very bad video, and the band is sitting on a couch watching it and sometimes we cut back to them looking puzzled by it. At the end, Jon Wurster goes “BRA-VOH!” and starts clapping, only to get stared down by his bandmates. I remember being an arrogant comedy-liker and scolding him in my head for DARING to out-funny David Cross and Girl David Cross. I truly is my “Moment of Irony” like in that one routine by Fat David Cross.

Louis Tomlinson talks success as Faith In The Future hits No.1

Louis Tomlinson is revelling in the feeling of hitting No.1 as a solo artist for the first time.

As the Doncaster singer and his team told Music Week in our cover feature, Faith In The Future was a painstaking process, with Tomlinson poring over every detail. He was obsessed with the physical product and the connection he hoped it would have with his devoted fanbase.

Faith In The Future, the star's first album for BMG, debuted at No.1 on consumption of 35,239 units (14,944 CDs, 9,577 vinyl albums, 1,501 cassettes, 6,790 digital downloads and 2,427 sales-equivalent streams).

Tomlinson’s debut solo album, Walls, debuted and peaked at No.4 on first week sales of 14,729 in February 2020, and has since gone on to achieve consumption of 72,329 units. Faith In The Future, then, sold more than double its week one total.

“I like anything that's tied to a physical release because that's what I grew up with,” Tomlinson told Music Week. “It's nice to have something to hold and we put cool little inserts [into the records].”

Here, in a previously unseen extract from our interview, we look into the future with Tomlinson and talk, success, perception and his Away From Home festival…

What are your biggest dreams and ambitions that Faith In The Future is out in the world?

“To keep growing the festival would be great. The next target will be next year, maybe the year after. I'd love to do it over two days. And I'd love to play on the Sunday, because that will give me a really clear indication of whether it can live outside of the context of myself. Because in an ideal world, if I can keep growing this festival, one day, I won't play it and we could still put it on and that will be really cool.”

Are there any artists you look to in terms of careers you'd want to emulate?

“It's hard to think like that... I don't really compare myself to others. Look, the most important thing for me is that I can keep making the music I love and touring it to the extent I have been. So, in terms of what a dream might be, if I can still be touring in 10 years, I'll be buzzing.”

Faith In The Future sounds in parts like a record made by a band rather than a solo act. Have you ever thought about doing something like that, rather than under your own name?

“Definitely, yeah, and it's a good point. Around halfway through making Walls, I had a conversation with my manager at the time, because I [was thinking about] a number of things, the sessions I was going into and the natural perception and judgement around coming out of a band like One Direction... I had this plan in my mind that was, not quite like a Gorillaz kind of vibe, but something where I could hide who I am, and maybe people like the song first, and then be surprised that it's me. I definitely went through that process in my head. I mean, I might still do it one day, I do like the idea.”

Where did that idea come from?

“From the fact that I felt frustrated about the perception and the judgement I'm always going to be up against. I understand that I've lived long enough now, that's why I have to play the long game, but it’s about chipping away at this idea of me as a solo artist and someone coming out of a band.”

How do you feel about where you’re at in life now?

“Where I'm quite lucky in my life is that my job keeps me feeling forever like I'm 18, it just has that way about it. We're always moving about. But when I go and spend my personal time with my son in LA, it gives me... That's when I feel, you know, like a responsible 30-year-old. I put my Dad hat on and I'm almost taking on a slightly different version of myself, because that's what's required as a parent.”

WORK IMMERSION

(DIVISION OF TALISAY)

Today,(March 12,2024) is the beginning of my work immersion.I don't know how to start this but I really felt nervous, anxious at the same time excited, it's a privileged for me to enter and work at division office.I arrived before 8:00am,We immersion (10) student met Mrs. Jane the Head of Records she introduced and tour us at division office.She let everyone speak 1 by 1 starting by telling your expectations.After that,I went to the unit I was assigned which is the Supply Unit.I met Mr.Julius and Mrs.Marfie the Head and Ast. Head of Supply they are very kind and hands on.Mrs.Marfie discussed and oriented us the function and the technical term use in the Unit.She gaves us a bunch of papers to encode for Purchase Request, Purchase Order, Inspection and Acceptance Request and Request for Quotation.At first I'm a little bit confused about using the excel formulas since the work is connected to numbers (money).Yes,Mrs.Marfie is very hands on to us she teaches some basic keyboard shortcuts,excel formulas.Then, I proceed to the stock room and started doing the inventory of the IT supplies.Janitorial Supplies,Office Supplies and Medical Supplies.I was dizzy by the smell of the room because it has aircon,it's a mix of detergents and other janitorial supplies that makes me dizzy.

Days passed,I started to understand and learned the documents I was doing,Mrs.Marfie let me and my partner take care of the documents for RSPC and CVIRAA such as the list of player,coach and uniform.

Time flies so fast, It's already my 2nd week .I'm really not feeling well for this week.I have cough,fever, sneeze and soar throat.This week is very busy indeed in school and division's office.Because of the destruction from nat and exam there's so many extension happened on my work days.As usual we're busy encoding the the request of the clients.We encode 6 IAR for the foodpack of rspc.We went to the supply room because there's a delivery coming.We accompanied the delivery personnel,we count and check each product they deliver if it's right.We also arrange and count the extra uniform from RSPC 2020.The empIoyees are very kind because they treat us a snack every snack time.We are also happy to be able to participate in their/there flag ceremony as we Iead the prayer and Zumba.I have learned many things and something new not only for intellectual competencies but also the behavioural competences such as teamwork,consistent, punctuality and resilience.I can say that my 2 weeks work immersion in division office is amazing such a unforgettable experience that I want to extend my work.
