Whoo ! It's the Animaniacs, the brother (and sister) Warner ! I think it got a revival two years ago, I only saw some clips, but it seems pretty nice.
Now, they're vacation it seems. They didn't clean anything in their house since... lazy.
I finally watched Nimona the other night (really good btw, highly recommend!) and something I kept on thinking throughout the movie is that Nimona's hair style is literally what TMNT 2012 tried to do with Karai's hair but Nimona did it better because she's got an actual visible hairline!
Like a friend of mine pointed out to me how Karai’s hair just kinda flops down across her head. None of the pieces of her hair are broken up in sections, no hairline, so they all look like they are one solid piece that’s on her head. The back of her hair and her bangs are connected like a Lego’s hair.
Nimona’s hair has layers and an obvious hairline. It broken up so you can see where certain parts of the hair start and end so they aren’t one piece of hair all together, if that makes sense.
Okay, so it is in fact very funny that bandwagon-jumping Dungeons & Dragons podcasters are brewing up D&D hacks of the Cyberpunk: Edgerunners anime in spite of the fact that it's literally already based on a tabletop RPG, but I have to grant that this isn't the sort of square peg/round hole situation that you usually get with flavour-of-the-week D&D hacks. This is one of the very rare cases where you can legit do this without any real problems: in terms of the frameworks of play that are needed to support them, the cyberpunk heist and the sword and sorcery dungeon crawl are functionally identical.
(Indeed, the fact that you can so easily do a cyberpunk heist in D&D is one of the main pieces of evidence that folks like to cite in support of the argument that D&D can do anything – and as long as you never try to run anything that isn't either a sword and sorcery dungeon crawl or a cyberpunk heist, it's technically correct!)
The Evolution of Violence and the Macabre in Animaniacs
Nah this isn't gonna be some essay or something, I just think it's kinda funny how Animaniacs goes from having to put a smiley face on a bat to get away with Wakko hitting someone with it, and having to change the name of a segment from "Death or Consequences" to "Meatballs or Consequences" in season 1...
...to season 5, where Wakko can be shown burying a corpse, and Wakko's Wish, where the Warners kick Salazar out a closed window at a large height, shattered glass and everything (after which the movie implies he gets mauled to death by dogs)...
...to the reboot where they just straight up have a character be covered in blood onscreen, and there's a series of segments literally called "Murder Pals".
I will be vacationing in South Korea and Japan for a few weeks and taking a bit of a social media break. See y'all later!! 💖
Wakko packs away the snacks 🤭
