you were talking to your friends and family as they gifted you leis and balloons

you couldn’t help but feel overwhelmed by so many emotions: relief, happiness, nostalgia, sadness

meanwhile, tsukki was still swimming through the crowd, searching for you

it’s a good thing he was a tall tree bc he could overlook the swarm of humans and find just right where you were

when he sees you wiping your face with the large sleeve of your gown, he sprints

just full on charges through the crowd and people had to swerve aside to let the man go

then, you feel a tap on your shoulder

turning around, you find a worrisome Tsukki who pulls you into a hug

it felt nice finally being in an embrace with the one you’ve been waiting for most throughout the night

When your teary eyes met his in the audience, Tsukki felt a sudden urge to jump down and cradle you in his arms

it was a good thing Yamaguchi was there to calm him down

“Congrats, graduate.” Worry fades from his eyes when he sees you smile.

“Enough crying,” he scolds, wiping your tears with his hand.

you nod, despite the sobs that continue to release from you

A bunch of cameras flash around you two as your family took photos of the moment to commemorate it.

But you both ignore the flashes, bringing each other into another hug.

when they announced your name, you walked up the stage

you hear all your friends cheering and hollering for you

semi sends a loud whistle your way

getting all caught up the moment, you can’t help but be emotional, tears pricking your eyes as you receive your diploma and wave at the section where your loved ones were

you blow a kiss over to a particular silver-haired person who smiles back and sends you a hand-kiss back

Even from a large distance, he could tell you were crying

And he wanted to jump over the gate and run to you, but he waited patiently until the ceremony was over when graduates could finally meet with their families and friends

In fact, he was the first one you saw

Taking you in one huge hug

And you felt your tears pool even more

his hand smooths over the back of your head, another soothing your back

“I’m so damn proud of you,” he says. “Congrats.”

Then gives you a kiss on the forehead.

It doesn’t take long when your family and some friends catch up

Semi moves back, bringing his camera up to take a bunch of photos

doesn’t notice you crying

he’s too busy screaming your name as you receive your diploma

it was during the lei ceremony when Bokuto jumped on you, giving you the largest hug that he noticed your emotional nature

And he’s kissing your tears away

“Aw, don’t cry, baby…” Brings his arm around you and attempts to calm you down

everyone is waiting to hand you their gift for you like: 👁👄👁 are they gonna stop? *checks watch*

Akaashi had to tap Bokuto’s shoulder to bring him back

“Hmm?” the volleyball captain opens his eyes, cheek pressed against the top of your head and still hugging you.

It takes him a moment to realize the amount of people staring and he pulls away. “We can continue this later,” he whispers to you before moving aside and letting others greet and share their congratulations

he stands next to you like a bodyguard the whole time, holding heavy bags of gifts for you.

#called my mom at 7am out of a desperate need for validation #had a 37 minute long convo that amounted to ‘you should look into therapy’ #(in a much nicer and more constructive way it was actually a very good conversation’ #and she told me that she’s been in therapy for the last year #and that it did wonders for her mental health #and that she went from being on the verge of divorce #to looking forward to spending her retirement with my dad and expanding her home business to cover health insurance #since my dad is currently unemployed and most likely isn’t getting another job (industry and & age related reasons) #and ofc I’m glad to hear that they’re doing better #but I’m wondering if she got thru everything she needed to in therapy #and if she’s sorry about last winter #when for two days in a row she screamed at me for hours on end #about what a failure I am and how much I’m a drag on the family #how I was responsible for their impending divorce #and she was going to gift my dad divorce papers for Christmas and it would be my fault #how I looked like a clown at my recent graduation #and a bunch of other things #if she’s sorry for how every year since I was 14 she’s screamed at me about how I’m responsible for their being on the rocks #how it’s my fault my siblings will grow up in a broken family and we’ll have to sell the family house of 25 years to pay for the divorce #for when in April 2020 she tried to [redacted] herself in front of me while telling me it was my fault and I’d pushed her that far #all while I whisper-screamed for her to stop bc it was midnight and my siblings weee sleeping in the next room #she has never apologized for any of those and I don’t want to bring it up now #bc I don’t want to relive the past #but I wonder #mother mention cw #negativity cw #divorce cw

Currently we have 23 Welcome to Night Vale characters submitted. It's going to be a 32 person bracket. So we need 9 more characters. I was very quickly able to come up with 14 characters, and obviously they all won't fit. So if you want one of these characters to be a contender for Sexiest Fictional Podcast Character, or you have another character you want to see compete, submit them now.
