In light of the flat possibility remaining on the table, today doesn’t contain anything earth-shattering in silver from an Elliott wave perspective.  For that, we still need a break below 22.625 (futures), which would eliminate the triangle count.

But from a more traditional technical perspective, it cannot be ignored that today’s drop took us past previous support (Nov. 9 and Nov. 19, 23.60 - 23.67) and failed to get back above that zone on the bounce, on the heaviest volume we’ve seen since Nov. 9′s precipitous drop from 26.135 to 23.60.  Additionally, the lagging span on SLV’s Ichimoku chart has finally dropped through the floor (if only by one cent), meaning we can finally say that all Ichimoku signals are now bearish.

I’m surprised to see that I hadn’t actually mentioned this last time, but I went short near the end of the day on 11/9 and have therefore been impatiently waiting the past two weeks for something to happen (and yes, I should have shorted more when /SI reached the 61.8% retrace and was rejected).  Today’s action is the first step.  Now if we can just break 22.625...
