me when i care about victims of american militarism:
Tumblr media
[ID: a post dated 6 november 2023 by mariacallous. it says 'me, a trans imperialist warmonger, calling in a drone strike on you because of your horrible Ohnlyne Hawt Tayke before I go use my US military funded hormones.' the post has 212 notes. end ID.]
drone strikes haven't stopped under biden, and they still result in civilian casualties.
We do know for certain that ten civilians were killed by US actions after that six-month period, on August 29th this year [2021] in Kabul – in the final US drone strike of a 20-year war. The US initially claimed this was a “righteous strike” on an Islamic State terrorist. However investigative journalists quickly showed the victims were in fact an aid worker and nine members of his young family, forcing the military to admit an error. Despite this, it recently concluded no disciplinary measures against personnel were necessary.
it's ironic that she's making fun of online hot takes... while making a 'joke' that is only funny to chronically online muricans.
how the fuck do you get to a point where you think this is appropriate in any way? if you say shit like this, you don't get to complain about people outside the us making mass shooting jokes. both are tasteless and uncalled for. read the room for god's sake.
Tumblr media
[ID: a tweet by @agraybee that says 'The most important part of every left wing movement is picking the most toxic slogan possible and then spend 75% of your time explaining why it's fine. there is a reply by @diodelass that says 'if we picked a different slogan, that would overnight become the new 'most toxic slogan'. another reply by agraybee says 'you could pick something that's not in the hamas charter. a screenshot of these tweets is posted by mariacallous. the post is reblogged by sprinkledsalt, with the added tag: 'the left choosing a slogan is pretty much a kiss of death for that idea/stance.' end ID. ]
the slogan predates hamas, but whatever it takes to make pro-palestinians look bad right? and congrats, it looks like your republican representatives would agree with you.
Tumblr media
[ID: tags on a post. they say '#looking at shit all over social media today like okay welp a year from now#I hope you all die mad when Biden wins again#while the rest of us do the responsible thing and vote against the Muslim ban party#(still keeping this muted lol)' end ID.]
starting to think some of you only want democrats, not actual democracy. some of those people voted for biden, of course they feel betrayed and disgusted by his conduct. he openly tried to discredit the number of murdered palestinians, even though his own officials cite it internally. he still refuses to support a ceasefire. he wants more arms deals with israel to be done in secrecy. not to forget the fbi targeting muslim communities as recently as a week after hamas' attack.
it's not an easy choice at all and it's perfectly understandable that people want another candidate. isn't that the point of a democracy? don't you want someone better than him?

"3 mass shootings in the last 2 weeks" We're actually at 212 mass shootings since Jan 1st. That averages to 1 mass shooting every 16 hours :/
you know you're fucked when these are the statistics, and it's become such a norm that we only hear about the Big Ones™

Dear Diary,
There have been 145 days this year. There have been 212 mass shootings. Is this normal?
I made this piece out of anger in the wake of one of the most recent school massacres. I made this with so many questions in mind. When will enough be enough? How many children have to die before something is done? Where are the pro-life people when their children are being murdered outside the womb? When will it be safe for my peers and I to get an education? Why?

I just think it’s sad that someone would want to kill innocent children. And the thing is no one has tried to stop it. 15 people, that we know of, we’re kill today in an ELEMENTARY SCHOOL! 14 students and 1 teacher. We don’t need laws on being gay or abortions, we need laws on this! It is a public health crises because today is the 144th day of 2022 and Uvalde is the 212 mass shooting this year. If this doesn’t tell you anything about how fucked up the world is, I don’t know what does.
Edit: It is now 19 students and 3 teachers that have loss their lives in this tragedy.

What definition of mass shooting does that 212 or whatever mass shootings already this year are we using

Note
212 mass shootings this year, the most recent one at an elementary school. Those babies, 7 to 10 years old and a couple of teachers got mutilated. Some were so bad they were unrecognizable and had to use their relative's dna to identify them. 10 years since sandy hook, another elementary school shooting and nothings changed. In fact, texas just made it easier to buy military grade weapons.
The supreme court overturning roe vs wade, which is controlling women's bodies and in the future could reverse legalization of gay marriage, interracial marriage, banning contraception, the list goes on and on.
A state just passed something where they say life begins at conception, which means no abortions. It's illegal, yet we have a baby formula shortage and babies are in the hospital malnourished because they literally cannot be fed. What happened when everyone went out in the streets to protest against police brutality and having to shout "black lives matter" and to literally fight to stop black people from being killed just because of skin color? What did they do? Nothing! Pro life my fucking ass.
So what does the president do? Invite a kpop group? Are we serious right now? Asian americans HAVE been attacked and HAVE been victims of hate crimes and microagressions and it only sky rocketed when covid hit. A man who watched asian p*rn went to a restaurant and killed asian women. Fetishization is huge (and really disgusting) and will literally get you killed. If the president wants to address it, that's great! But why are bringing a non asian american group here to talk about hate crimes? Yes, bts have had a shit ton of racist shit thrown at them. But they dont live here. They will never be victims of hate crimes. They get to go back to their country where they live such a privileged life and are the majority (asian). They dont have to worry about it and they wont experience it. Get asian americans to do it. If you want a celeb, get, idk, fucking eric nam to do it then (lmfaooo?????). They have to live here every single day and endure microaggressions and worry about being victims of hate crimes because of the amount of racism and fetishization towards them. Have a group of asian americans stand up there with the president and talk about this if he really wants to make an impact, not a kpop group who probably wont even serve their own country when it's mandated. Idk. Im very angry and upset these days and it probably shows in this post.
yeah you sound very angry and it's 100% valid. you are right to be upset and i can't begin to imagine what it's like because i don't live in the US and i'm not a minority where i live. I'm really sorry and i sympathize with you though.
as the previous asked said the bright side here is at least this will spark a conversation and at least bts with their enormous popularity will give a platform to this discussion. but do not forget to hold the government and the people in charge accountable and don't let your love for bts blind you either, hold them and hybe accountable too! those are my two cents, as a person who is neither asian nor an immigrant nor a US resident.

tw: gun violence & religion (discussing the mass shooting in Uvalde, TX on 5/24/22)
There have been 212 mass shootings in the United States in 2022 alone.
Every single person I know is posting the exact same Bible verses and aesthetically appealing graphics saying things like “Just Pray ❤️” and “Pray for Uvalde.”
“Just praying” clearly is not working. We’ve been trying it for decades now. We have definitive proof that thoughts and prayers do not save lives. I don’t understand what’s not clicking in these peoples’ minds. Absolutely nobody— especially not elementary school kids— should live in fear that at any moment they or their peers could be shot to death.
And the NRA is hosting a convention IN TEXAS this weekend, to be attended by Gov. Greg Abbott and Sen. Ted Cruz.
We desperately need gun control and competent leadership. Full stop.

Trigger warning: school shootings, gun violence
Today in Texas there was a school shooting. 19 kids are confirmed dead so far, ages 7-10 years old. (This school has grades 2-4th.) 2 adults are dead. They were going to go on summer vacation in 2 days. They were probably excited for summer. I hope that most of them died quickly. I hope they didn't see it coming. These kids probably didn't even understand how fucked up our country is.
“This has been a horrific day. It doesn’t matter how much time passes, it brings you right back to that minute. I can’t stop thinking about these families today who need to figure out how they’re going to bury their children, who need to figure out how they’re going to console their other children, who need to figure out how they’re going to deal with the reality that they had other children likely in that school who are going to have PTSD, who need to figure out a eulogy,” -Fred Guttenburg (his daughter was killed in a 2018 shooting)
Imagine going about your day and finding out your child died at school, a place that's supposed to be safe.
I can't imagine the trauma that the students who were there witnessed/experienced. There were only around 500 kids at this school, so many people probably had friends who died. I can't imagine how the families feel.
This is 10 years after the Sandy Hook elementary shooting that killed 20 children and 6 teachers, the students ages 6 and 7.
This shooting today comes just 10 days after a man in Texas (both were 18 year olds in these 2 shootings) killed 10 black people in a grocery store.
This year, there have been 144 days in 2022. There have been 212 mass shootings in America. 212. That's almost 100 more shootings than there are days.
In America, it is incredibly easy to get a gun. In most states, it's faster and quicker to obtain a gun than it is to register to vote. When has "gun rights" been more important than the lives of innocent children? I'm tired of waking up every goddamn day in my country wondering if there was another shooting. I'm tired of it and my heart just hurts so much. I shouldn't be afraid to go to school or go out in public in fear of being shot, no one should. This has to change.
Guns should be way way harder to obtain than they are now. They should do background checks first of all and just all around make it much harder to be able to get a gun. Much harder. I can't believe that after how many times this has happened that gun laws in Texas specifically haven't changed. (They should change everywhere, but Texas is really bad about it.)
How many more innocent lives? How many more innocent children before something really changes?

Virginia Walmart manager shot and killed 6 people , What Happened? explained A gunman opened fire at a Walmart supermarket in Chesapeake, Virginia, leaving "multiple casualties" and injuries at the scene, police said. Let's take a closer look at this Walmart shooting.
Walmart shooting
A shooting at a Walmart in Chesapeake, Virginia on Tuesday night reported "multiple casualties." Authorities said the suspect also died. Chesapeake Police spokesman Leo Kosinski told reporters outside the scene that officers were called to the Walmart Supercenter at 10:12 p.m. local time due to a serious threat situation. The Walmart shooting shocked many. Over the next 30 to 45 minutes, Kosinski said, "we were able to find several casualties and several injured people." The exact number of deaths and injuries has not been confirmed. Five people are being treated at a hospital in the region for unidentified injuries after the injured were rushed there.
Gunman dead
"While details of the suspect's death were not immediately released, Kosinski said the shooter is believed to have acted alone. Although at least one body was found outside, Kosinski said the shooting is believed to have occurred inside the store. According to Walmart's website, the store was accessible to customers at the time of the shooting. More than 40 emergency vehicles rushed to the Walmart store on Battlefield Boulevard after a 911 call was made at 10:12 p.m. local time on Tuesday. When police responded to the scene, they realized it was an active shooter situation and changed their tactics accordingly, Mr. Kosinski said. The coastal Hampton Roads region of southern Virginia, which includes the cities of Norfolk and Virginia Beach, straddles the Chesapeake. It's unclear how many deaths there are, but the Chesapeake Police Department said there were "multiple" casualties in the Walmart shooting.
According to the source
According to a law enforcement source, "Preliminary information about the Walmart shooting indicates that an employee, possibly a manager, went into the break room and shot several employees and himself." According to ABC News, the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives is on the scene. "Our first responders are knowledgeable and willing to help. Our communications staff is organized and willing to share additional details. Tumblr media
On May 19, 2022, the New York Times published an article entitled “At Wells Fargo, a Quest to Increase Diversity Leads to Fake Job Interviews”. Wells Fargo is a diversified financial services company that provides banking, investment, mortgage, and consumer and commercial finance products and services. The lawsuit was filed in the United States District Court for the Northern District of California and alleges violations of the Securities Exchange Act of 1934. 22, 2022 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) - Bernstein Liebhard LLP, a nationally acclaimed investor rights law firm, reminds investors of the deadline to file a lead plaintiff motion in a securities class action lawsuit that has been filed on behalf of investors who purchased or acquired the common stock of Wells Fargo & Company (“Wells Fargo” or the “Company”) (NYSE: WFC) between Februand June 9, 2022, inclusive (the “Class Period”). Bonner said he hopes to reach a settlement ahead of the class-action suit, but if those parties don’t come to the negotiating table, he plans to file the federal lawsuit in September.īonner said the claim seeks to establish a medical monitoring fund to pay for counseling for those affected by the incident and further compensation for the victims of the shooting, their families and the other people in the school on the day of the tragedy.Īs it stands, the class named in the prospective lawsuit covers nine families of shooting victims, but Bonner said he expects that more people impacted by the shooting will sign on moving forward.Did you lose money on investments in Wells Fargo & Company? If so, please visit Wells Fargo & Company Shareholder Class Action Lawsuit or contact Peter Allocco at (212) 951-2030 or to discuss your rights. The claim, which could become a precursor to a class-action lawsuit, puts the would-be defendants of a potential suit on notice. In addition to serving the school district and City Council, Bonner intends to seek damages from the list of law enforcement agencies present at Robb during the shooting and Daniel Defense, the manufacturer of the AR-15 the shooter used that day. The report, which was published a month ago, found that “systemic failures and egregious poor decision making” contributed to the gunman’s ability to get inside a classroom and law enforcement’s delayed response in confronting him. Bonner told The Texas Tribune he intended to serve Uvalde city leaders on Tuesday evening at a City Council meeting.Īs evidence of the school district’s responsibility, the claim pointed to a Texas House committee’s report that investigated the shooting as well as law enforcement’s response. On behalf of Uvalde mass shooting victims and their families, the California-based law firm Bonner & Bonner is seeking $27 billion from a litany of governmental entities over the May 24 Robb Elementary School massacre that left 19 children and two teachers dead.Ĭharles Bonner served the Uvalde Consolidated Independent School District with the multibillion-dollar claim Monday, requesting compensation for the victims. Highland Park
Special Column: The mass shooting in Highland Park and how it is being used by the Left to protect their voting base
By Ray Hanania On the day that Americans celebrated the birth of their nation, its Democracy, and its freedoms, a suspect killed six civilians and injured 16 others in a shooting rampage during the start of a 4th of July parade in one of Illinois' wealthiest suburbs, Highland Park. Immediately, the violence became the focus of a national debate over the issues of the weapon used to commit the killings rather than on the motivations that pushed the suspect. Democrats are demanding tougher gun control laws while Republicans insist that controlling guns is not the answer. Gun laws prevent law-abiding citizens from owning guns, but the killers using the guns are not law-abiding at all, Republicans argue. The debate gets edgy when the race of the shooter is discussed and most try to avoid pointing a finger at issues of poverty and race anger as causes of the violence. There is violence in both Democrat and Republican areas of the country, But, how those acts of violence are treated is what's different. Most minorities live in urban areas dominated by Democrats, not in areas dominated by Republicans. Violence in Republican-controlled areas generally involves poverty. Those are difficult issues to address and anyone who raises them is often denounced as "racist." So, the focus instead shifts to the easier-to-argue battle over "gun control." The debate over gun control is merely a distraction to prevent a discussion of more uncomfortable issues such as poverty, race, and even ideology. Chicago's population is 66 percent minority Black and Hispanic, many living in poverty, but even a hint at that discussion can raise the ire of racism from the Left. The majority of Americans are being bullied into silence. Americans say they don't want to stereotype in addressing violence in America. But they don't have a problem stereotyping when the violence is in foreign countries where they insist the violence is the consequence of extremist political or religious ideology. They easily stereotype Muslims and Arabs when violence occurs in the Middle East, for example. Stereotyping of foreigners is common among Americans, who condemn those who stereotype themselves. The violence in Highland Park, and a dozen other locations including the city of Uvalde in Texas where a teenage gunman shot and killed 19 children and two teachers at an elementary school, involved individuals who clearly had psychological problems. The issues of what factors in their own lives and homes influenced their criminal behavior is brushed aside, and the focus is on gun ownership. What about the responsibility that parents have for their children? Didn't the parents of the Ulvalde shooter recognize the factors that pushed their children to commit these horrendous crimes? And what is their responsibility for the actions of their child? Had Ulvade been in any other foreign location, and not Texas, the issue would have been all about the religious upbringing of the shooter, his (or her) ideology, and the environment in which they lived. These are issues pushed aside in the American "gun control" debate. The advocates for "Gun Control" don't want to address these other factors like the failure of the home, the failure of parents to be parents, and the walking on rice paper when it comes to addressing the race and poverty aspects of violence. Uvalde was not unusual as school killings go in America, unfortunately. There have been 26 other mass shootings at schools this past year across America. And it was one of 212 mass shootings in cities across America. In Chicago, the homicide rate continues to climb. For Chicago, the year 2021 ended as the deadliest year for mass shootings in more than a decade with 791 homicides, 25 more than in 2020 and 229 more than in 2019. There were 3,561 shooting incidents in 2021, 300 more than the previous year, and 1,415 more than in 2019. This past weekend, nine people were shot and killed on Chicago's streets and the Police are being bullied by politicians to be restrained when dealing with criminals. They would rather have the crime go unpunished than deal with the criminals because killing a young gangbanger whose parents have failed to be parents, is an issue they don't want to address. Chicago's Mayor Lori Lightfoot insists the problem is the need for greater "gun control," although Chicago has the fourth toughest gun ownership laws in the country, behind New York, Philadelphia, and Baltimore, all Democrat Party-controlled municipalities. In one case, 13-year-old Adam Toledo, a Hispanic child, was with a known street gang member on Chicago's West Side at 2:30 in the morning when Police chased and then shot him. The debate focused on did the 13-year-old had the gun in his hand when the police shot, as police claimed, or had he dropped the gun as anti-police activists insist. No one is asking why a 13-year-old was out of his home in the middle of the night long after curfew or what responsibility for the child's death should fall on the shoulders of the boy's parents. Instead, they focus only on the role of the police who were chasing, regardless of Toledo's age, an armed gangbanger. The mass murderer in Uvalde was a high school student who had just turned 18. Don't mention that Salvador Ramos is Hispanic. The Left and the biased news media that supports it focus on the fact that Ramos went out and purchased guns and ammunition for his birthday before murdering the 19 young children and their two teachers. But what about the parents? Did Ramos suddenly become a criminal or did he have problems the parents didn't want to address? Why should they address the child's problems because society doesn't pressure that kind of accountability so it's easy for parents to do nothing? In the Toledo case, it is not unusual that children under the age of 16 have been shot and killed while engaging in gun-related violence after curfew. Toledo was associated with street gangs, something his parents should have known and taken action to stop. But as long as the child isn't injured, why do anything? If the child is killed, you can always blame it on the police, rather than yourself, and hit the Chicago Homicide Jackpot filing a lawsuit against the police this past Spring. Whatever happens in Highland Park, the issue won't be about the killer because the killer is not Middle Eastern. Highland Park police described the suspect as "a male white, 18 to 20 years old." The real tragedy of America is that it is not a "war on crime" that is being waged but rather an exploitation of a crime. Criminals are being given the benefit of the doubt and are even being released without being jailed, and many commit more crimes. Law-abiding citizens are being told that they need more laws to prevent crimes, and law-abiding citizens follow the laws. But it's the criminals who don't follow the laws, the non-law-abiding citizens, who are committing the crimes. And nothing is being done about them.

Why are we Focusing on This?
By Lara Barney
Photos By Louis White
Tumblr media
When I first sat down to write this, two cities came to mind: Buffalo and Laguna Woods. Both were affected by aggressive acts of gun violence. But now, I am thinking of elementary school students and the teachers that guide them. At this point in time, there have been 212 mass shootings in 2022 but that number changes almost every day.
These egregious acts that have been happening for years have gone largely unchecked by the government; even with protests and backlash from the public. The people that are protesting are angry and devastated, yet they are not unreasonable. They are protesting for gun control, a safer America, and most of all freedom for everyone, whether they own guns or not. A total ban on guns is not the solution they are looking for.
Tumblr media
···
A few weeks before this tragedy happened another bombshell was dropped on the United States. It was made known to the public that Justice Alito had penned a majority opinion in favor of overturning the landmark case of Roe v. Wade.
Roe v. Wade allows women to have access to safe medical abortions. This isn’t to say that abortions were simply not accessible before the decision, only that women had to have unsafe and illegal abortions in the shadows. After the landmark decision to allow women abortions, the CDC found that the number of illegal abortions went from 130,000 to 17,000 and deaths went from 39 to five during the years from 1972 to 1974.
Tumblr media
···
“Roe was egregiously wrong from the start. Its reasoning was exceptionally weak, and the decision has had damaging consequences”, states Alito in his initial draft of the majority opinion.
When I hear him cite damaging consequences, I ask him to name them. Roe v. Wade has done nothing but bring safe access and education to women all over America. Since the landmark case women have been empowered to take care of their bodies and practice actual family planning. The conversation has been moving towards less shame and stigma and women can get an education easily and freely.
Alito goes on to say, “And far from bringing about a national settlement of the abortion issue, Roe and Casey have enflamed debate and deepened division.”
Tumblr media
···
If the damaging consequences he is referencing are truly the deepened division in this nation I question where his priorities lie. How can he put the feelings of our nation over the physical safety of its people?
What about the damaging consequences of refusing to regulate guns? People every day are affected negatively by gun violence, yet we get silence from those who are supposed to guide us. I feel unprotected by the government. If I'm supposed to keep my unwanted child, how can I send them to a school that is unsafe?
Just recently baby formula was recalled, making the supplies sparse on the shelves. Almost 200 Republicans voted against a bill to provide $28 million dollars of aid to go to the FDA to combat the formula storage. Why would I bring a child into this world if I’m not able to feed it?
Tumblr media

Alito goes on to explain that we need to heed the Constitution and it does not say anything about abortions. My argument against that would be that we are promised life and liberty and taking away our right to choose by putting it in the state's hands is a direct attack on our liberty as individuals. Does the Constitution say anything about other medical procedures and our freedom to receive them?
Abortion is a safe, sometimes medically necessary procedure that has come so far from where it started. Most can now be performed at home. They affect no one but the individual having the procedure.
To bring everything back into focus, why are we making things harder for women, when so many other public threats are more pressing and harmful to the community? It seems like it will only incite more frustration with the government and further divide us as a nation; contrary to what Alito hoped to achieve. A baby in the womb is worth two in the world.

Why are we Focusing on This?
By Lara Barney

After the landmark decision to allow women abortions the CDC found that the number of illegal abortions went from 130,000 to 17,000 and deaths went from 39 to five during the years of 1972 to 1974.
