Wait, I just realized why Dr. Hare is so popular:

His character is the perfect representation of the Poptropica franchise.

On a surface level he's a silly and comedic villain. He wears a bright pink bunny suit and steals carrots that power his machines. Pretty silly and dumb on a surface level.

But then when you start to look at him on a deeper level, there's a lot of dark stuff going on with him: kidnapping and brainwashing children, ruining the entire economy of an island, trying to hypnotize the entire world and become a dictator... yeah, that's pretty dark.

Poptropica the franchise is the same way. On a surface level it's just "Explore, Collect, Compete". Solve the island problems, collect medals and costumes, interact with your friends. Harmless fun!

And then you start to look under the surface...

And we have things like certain character backstories, several apocalyptic events, heavy themes like grief and depression, and a whole bunch of other stuff that I can't think of right now.

So you can say that Dr. Hare is a fitting mascot for the franchise. It's not just about him being the first villain, but more about him being the perfect representation of whatever the heck is going on in Poptropica!

I still think he's overrated, but oh well :p I at least understand why he's beloved.

Cursed 24 Carrot Idea

Concept: 24 Carrot Island game where everything is the same, except Dr. Hare or one of the minions hears you crawling around in the vents, & someone climbs in to investigate.

Imagine you're traveling through the vents, keeping an eye on the little yellow dot that shows where you are. Then, you see a little pink dot appear, and it starts moving in your direction.

It'd be even worse if the game had sound.
