#25 boring pages with 2 characters that are hard to write and not the ones that end up driving the story
sinner-as-saint · 2 months
Note
idk what’s been happening lately but i miss the era of bucky barnes stories where he’s the actual character. not a biker, step dad, fuck boy, etc. don’t get me wrong!!! i love your stories but i feel like all of the BB fandom on this app has disconnected from his character :(
//
^^^^^No I agree with this anon so much. They're all great and were all written by very talented writers on here. But these past few months,I've been trying to find Winter Soldier Bucky fics, basically canon Bucky, where reader had an encounter with Bucky as Winter Soldier in the past and now she meets him again as Bucky. It can be dark or non dark, reader can be an avenger, agent or just normal civilian, just anything because I'm so desperate for a fic like that and Google and Tumblr search didn't work for me. And so far,I only found 2 fics like that (which I'm so grateful for both fics being series with multiple chapters. Made the search worth it. I would hug the writers if I could). And that too,not on Tumblr but on AO3,in the James "Bucky" Barnes/Reader tag that had 705 pages which I then also had to filter out with 'Winter Soldier Bucky Barnes' tag and the pages came down to 25. I stopped at page 13 and that's how I found those 2 specific fics that I'm looking for. I haven't scrolled through all the pages yet so maybe there's more of what I'm looking for. And maybe not all writers are using the 'Winter Soldier Bucky Barnes' tag even if they're writing canon Bucky so that means there's more. But yeah,I was confused as Winter Soldier & Bucky recovering from being the Winter Soldier is is Bucky's main lore and yet I filtered it out,705 pages dropped to 25.
Like,I'm not complaining at all. And I'm so sorry if it came off like that. I'm not even a writer so I don't want to complain. I know how hard writers work while juggling work and personal life at the same time. I actually read every new Bucky fics posted here no matter how they're written. And I'm happy that many people still remember and love Bucky in 2024,so much that they would still write fics about him. Without the Bucky fics posted here daily by bunch of great & talented writers,my daily life would be dull & boring. But the anon ask above reminds me of the time recently when I simply trying to find Winter Soldier Bucky fics and found just a few of them and I was just thinking to myself "Damn....... Where did all the Winter Soldier/Avengers Bucky fics gone to?". Anyway,I sincerely apologize for my yapping.
I understand what you mean, anon. I have said whatever I had to say in the previous ask and unfortunately, I have nothing else or new to add
I will say though, if you can't find the fics you're looking for that might be a sign that maybe you should start writing! That's how I started out, I never thought I'd be a fanfic writer one day but here I am.
Also if anyone has any recs for the kind of fic that anon is looking for, please leave them in the comments below

HELLO HELLO IM LATE BUT I was curious if you were willing to share with me more about: 1) Break Out, 2) First Impressions, and 3) Jar of Hearts 🥰🥰🥰 [this is Fandom hahaha]
Hey Fandom 😘
It's never too late! Always happy to talk about my WIPs (all 25 of them, fucking yikes)
Break Out is an Aussie historical AU that I want to write that I'm pretty sure I'm the only one that would be interested in! Set in a small country town called Cowra, Australia during WWII, Kagome lives on a sheep farm, her and her mother and younger brother struggling to keep everything going while her father is away at war. Cowra had both a military training barracks and a POW camp, where German, Italian and Japanese prisoners were held. In 1944 the Japanese prisoners staged a break out. Inuyasha and Miroku are found by Kagome and Souta, hiding in their barn. Both men want to return home, Inuyasha to his ill mother, Miroku to his fiance Sango. Miroku can speak some English, having studied at Universtiy, Inuyasha none. A tentative truce is formed, with Kagome, Souta, and later Mama, hiding them from the authorities in exchange for help on the farm.
First Impressions. I did share a little snippet here in another ask, but I didn't share the full sketch that goes with it - here you go. Kagome and Inu all dressed up for the Star Ball, with Kags looking a little taller than usual, because heels and updo.
Tumblr media
Jar of Hearts is kinda problematic. Because it's a mystery, and I'm kinda still writing it and I don't want to give anything away, and I need to write it all and make sure I leave a bread crumb trail - I kind of wrote myself into a corner with the first three chapters and I'm writing my way out of it.
What I can share is maybe one of the character tarot card spreads I drew? I do this for all my chapter fics that are AU's - before I write, I draw cards for them - it helps me work out their motivations etc. Here's Inu's.
INUYASHA
HERO: The Lovers - A romantic situation, although it is much more than that. This is the card of the ‘hard choice’. Hard choices aren’t always big decisions. Choices are hard when there is no clear logical choice. Make a decision based on what your heart and soul feels is right.
DOMINANT OUTWARD QUALITY: Page of Swords - Smart, quick to learn, easily bored. Clever, insightful, discerning but can be judgemental.
DOMINANT INWARD QUALITY: The Star (R) - Rest and healing card - Am I hiding my light under a barrel? Where can I find the respite and healing I truly need?
GOAL: 3 Wands (R) - Choices have been made and actions taken - waiting for ship to come. Delay, discouragement, distraction.
MOTIVATION: Ace of Wands - The universe has handed you a gift. Take the plunge - use energy to get this off the ground. Just do it.
STAKES: The Emperor - A plan is needed - using resources and common sense. Work out what steps are required to reach your goal.
FLAW OR NEED: 2 of Cups - Intense connection. Be open and optimistic to this new connection. Enjoy the magic of it. Don’t ruin it by dragging expectations into the equation.
SOURCE OF THE NEED: 6 of Cups - Small act of kindness can change the vibration of a situation, creating a ripple effect of sweetness. Accept the gift with kindness.

🎶Stuck in an Adhd Rut Part 2🎷🪲
Are you still stuck? I made another guide because I gathered more information that could help! And plus I am always in a rut at least every week or so, aha!
Tumblr media
[gif of Spongebob working his ass off trying to write an essay but ends up writing just "The" in fancy lettering.]
Start a writing routine/ritual. It's like waking up in the morning, brushing your teeth, or showering…a nice and simple habit! Habits are hard, but we're going to try what is called Putting Yourself in a Productive Environment. Try your best to write at a certain time of the day when you’re the most able to focus (for me it's at 10 pm). Writing at the same time and same place is roughly habit-related I think. So that is probably good! To add to my Writing Ritual, I like to make tea. But how will we make a productive environment? Well…
✨️Ambience.✨️ In the last post, I mentioned putting yourself in a place to write that isn't where you do your boring work or slack off. I decided to go more into depth now that I have found things that could help more. Below are a few things You can try to make your work environment more productive!
Try colored lighting or those videos that have a fireplace, outer space, or rainforest in the background. You know what I mean??
Make sure you are comfortable because an aching back due to the chair you are sitting in makes it very difficult to focus!
Use full-screen mode in your writing app if you can. This will help minimize those pesky tabs and will prevent you from googling unnecessary things like the number of sexes mushrooms have (unless that is a part of your story)!
Try a focus app to get you back on track. Time passes in strange ways for those with ADHD, so constantly setting timers is a must for some people (I am some people)!
Play the playlists you made for your story! It really helps when I can imagine my characters in the songs.
Try the Pomodoro method (work for 25 minutes, then take a 5-minute break)! Of course, you can tailor this however you like. Each app below has a timer method of some sort to help you stay on track, but each has its own quirk! From least to most complex, we have…
Pomodoro Timer (minimalist design, no distractions)
Virtual Cottage (a cozy cottage setting with togglable ambiances such as weather, a fireplace, and lofi music)
Forest: Focus for Productivity (you get to grow plants while you work; also has togglable nature ambiances)
Focus Plant: Pomodoro Forest (this one is super interactive and reminds me of My Singing Monsters)
(Disclaimer: Every app mentioned can be found for free in the Play Store, except for Virtual Cottage, which is free on Steam. If there are any other good focus apps, then feel free to mention them! Help some people out!)
To remember everything that helps you, create a Writing Checklist. Make it pretty or funny or whatever gets you to remember it–add pictures, gifs, etc! Post it on your desk, computer, phone…Personally, sticky notes do not help me. But if I remember how aesthetic or funny I made the checklist, it helps it stick a bit more. It also helps if it's on the front page of my writing app!
What's in my Writing Checklist? I divided mine into 2 sections: "Writing Prep," and "It's Time to Write!" In Writing Prep are the things I must include to set up my writing environment, aka everything I mentioned above. When It's Time to Write, I have to remember to…
Body double if I can. Body doubling is working alongside someone, which can help put you in a productive mood. Think of a study hall or library!
Time myself while I work and take breaks in between. Remember that what you do during breaks matters, too!
Set a clear goal before writing. This is to make sure I don’t go overboard and so I have a sense of completion after finishing my task! It also serves as a checkpoint where I can ask myself if I am ready to continue or stop writing for a bit.
Have a page I can refer back to that summarizes the plot and purpose of the story. I find that fumbling through pages and pages of lore derails me!
Have some rewards on hand. Look, the ADHD brain is like a little child that wants a sticker or a treat when you do the Right Thing. So when I finish a task, a treat for me!
Hydrate and eat something during breaks! Breaks are your downtime. Everyone needs a break every once in a while, and that means it’s time to take care of You!
I tried to be concise while cramming in as much information as I could because I am the type of person who needs the information NOW. I hope someone can benefit from it, and if anyone has any more tips, I would love to hear them and I'm sure others would, too!

2., 25., 35., and 45., For the fic ask meme :3
Good questions!!!
2. Go to your AO3 “Works” page, to the sidebar with all the filters, and click the drop-down arrow for “Additional Tags.” What are your top 3-5 most used tags? Do you think they accurately represent your writing habits?
Character study, Pre-canon, Headcanon and World building
Ohhhhh h my whehehzes ye s, yes they really truly are. I started writing again fic in earnest when I watched season one of the Umbrella Academy because I wanted to focus on the scenes we flashed through or moments I wanted more info for, and that trend certainly continued all the way to your gifts <3! That's where I absolutely thrive as a creator, poking at the little gaps between the lines and the subtext and sticking my grubby fingers in there asking "so what would happen Here" with enough analysis to become it's own piece
25. What other websites or resources do you use most often when you write?
Incredibly incredibly boring but uhh thesaurus is my biggest helper. I don't like having the same description words too close together, or sometimes I'll try to find a word that fits better. My search history is filled with "[word] syn" (because typing synonym is too much time and I don't want to accidentally get off track and lose steam while writing) as I search for words to swap around! Music too is a big one! Though recently I've been writing more on my phone so I haven't been playing quite as much as I would sitting on my laptop or at my desk
35. What aspects of your writing are completely unlike your real life?
I am,,, honestly a bit of a homebody with a generous imagination so most of it is different 😅 though most of my friends also live very very far away now so it's easy to stay put when I can reach them quicker through discord... though some day, stars will align for all the visits!! But ah,, yes uhh I also definitely don't have any magic as kickass as it'd be
45. What’s something you’ve improved on since you started writing fic?
Adding depth to the scenes I'm writing!
I think because of my theatre background as a stage manager and how a play really is just dialogue at the end of the day, and,,, focusing hard on just the words and not what's on the stage to make sure I do my cues on time,, my dialogue is fairly decent. Filling in everything around said dialogue is far more difficult and something I've gotten good pointers on - both in the Emight server watching other write and also in my rp world! Bouncing off of people who are Incredible writers - and also from consuming absolutely incredible stories that add a fire to my belly to make something that'll stick in someone's brain as viscerally as those stories do

How do monsters age? Also how old are the brothers?
~ Sincerely, a very Library Anon ~
Hello! Thanks for the ask, and also sorry for you, my friend, who’s about to have pages of me rambling about my thoughts and headcanons that may or may not be entirely supported by the game for a socially unacceptable amount of time <3
HOW MONSTERS AGE
I’ve actually had multiple different headcanons when it comes to monster age! They all go into three different categories: “all monsters age slower”, “they age the same way (unless they’re a boss monster without a kid)” and “some monsters age like humans, some slower and some quicker depending on species”. But, I now have one that goes into a slightly different category.
Now, I think, “what if their aging is a bit of everything?”
Allow me to explain what I mean.
My first headcanon was that monsters age 10x slower than a human does. Just choose a human age for a character and then tack on a 0 to the end of the number and you’ve got the right age. A part of me still wants to go that route, simply because it’s easier…
… but then, a monster would be a literal child while being 100 years old. It would make it a bit awkward to write about human kids being friends with monster kids lol, ngl. (Also I don’t want to write Sans and Papyrus as being like 250 years old.) Not to mention, it’s a bit boring. So I decided to spice it up a bit, if you will.
Let’s start explaining this by taking a monster with an average mental state who is the most average of species. They’re not suffering from any mental disorders, illnesses, have no trauma or physical ailments and are overall just what you’d call an averagely happy person. There’s nothing special about this monster. They’re literally the most average of average monsters, maybe so average they don’t even actually exist - they are made up by the statistics.
At first, they age quicker than a human does. While they’re what would translate to 5 human years (AKA when they’re 5 monster years), they are actually only 2 human years. At age 10 in monster years, they are 5 in human years. Their aging starts to slow down at 16 monster years, and by the time they’re 25 in monster years, they are also 25 in human years. Then it slows down even more quickly and on a huge scale, so that when they are 50 in monster years, they are about 500 in human years. On average, a normal monster becomes 2000 human years old. (Keep in mind, that this monster is so average they don’t exist - this aging varies a lot between species.)
Now, let’s take another monster of this same statistics-made species who is more happy than the average monster. They’ve experienced many good things, and bad things happening to them are unusual, but not unusual enough to make the happy moments meaningless. They make sure to care of themself and take their own feelings into consideration, they know their own worth. A monster like this may become up to a staggering 4000 human years old with some luck.
Finally, here’s a monster who suffers and just… isn’t happy. They suffer from trauma, have gone through horrible things, overall just not a very good time. They’re very likely to only get to 800 human years or less, if things don’t start looking up for them.
However, these aging mechanics also get more complicated when we get into species of monsters and monsters having children. Gerson, who is a turtle-species, ages about 5x slower than the average monster, which is why he was alive during wartime (though he is near the end of the line now, he’s only maybe 20 years from dying by the end of the game). A whimsun definitely won’t live past 1000 years, even if they’re the happiest whimsun on the planet, because their magic isn’t strong enough to last.
A boss monster (Toriel, Asgore, Asriel) doesn’t age past 30 until they have a child. When/if they have that child, they age at the same speed as the kid does. If the child dies, however, they stop aging again.
Speaking of not aging when their kids die, the same kinda goes for every other monster to a much smaller extent.
A non-boss monster will slow their aging after their kid dies. If they survive losing their kid (because a lot of monsters would dust from the hopelessness they feel after losing somebody so important), their aging slows by about 150%, again depending on the species of the monster.
However, despite their slow aging, monsters are weaker than humans. Too unstable emotions or living in conditions that make the monster feel unsafe may fuck up thair aging, as mentioned previously. To go into more detail about this: the aging process is not messed up by the situation the monster is in - the monster could be in the most horrible position without their aging being affected at all - but it has to do with how their hope is affected.
If a monster loses hope, their aging is affected so it speeds up. If they gain hope, it slows down.
Taking this in mind, let’s talk about the skeleton brothers’ ages!
Let’s start with the Undertale brothers, since they’re the “base” for the ages.
It’s hard to pinpoint exactly what I think their ages are, but I would say that:
At the time the game takes place, Sans is about 24-28 years old in monster years and Papyrus is about 19-23 in monster years. In human years, Sans is about 23 and Papyrus has recently turned 18. This has to do with their experiences in life.
Sans only has 1 HP. Skeleton monsters are among the groups that age more slowly, which ends up with him aging a tiny bit quicker than the ‘average monster’. This HP is mostly brought on by his clinical depression (which is actually very rare to have for a monster).
Papyrus ages slower than the ‘average monster’. He’s full of HoPe and is one of the most compassionate monsters, which says a lot by the way lol. But, we can’t forget that he literally didn’t have any friends, which did deal a huge blow to his self-confidence even if he won’t admit it. He aged just a little quicker than a skeleton monster should, at the time the game takes place (though this does change in my fics and headcanons right away, all he needs is one (1) friend to age as slowly as he should, or well. Slower, actually).
So, now that I’ve put down the base for what the two brothers are, let’s just straight up say: all the AU brothers are the same age in human years and there’s only small differences for the monster ages. Except for in Horrortale, which takes place later than the base game does.
I can’t say how old they are here, though, not exactly, because it would obviously vary depending on how long we wait to see them after the starvation starts, as horrible as that sounds. All my headcanons are off the basis that they were left in the Underground for about five human years after Frisk left, so let’s just go with that. After five years in the Underground, Dusk (Horrortale Sans) is about 38 in monster years and Aster (Horrortale Papyrus) is about 37 (he caught up quickly to his brother, as the things that happened took a bigger toll on him).
I want to mention, however, that all my headcanons for ages are very loose and not entirely my “final decision” on how I think monsters age lol, and they may change in the future. Anyways, this is what I’m going for as of right now! If you want any clarification feel free to ask :-)

“It’s not like Kirishima had come all this way to U.A. to immediately break the promise he made to himself upon arrival.
It’s just that Bakugou is as feral as they come, and the moment Kirishima recognizes it’s fear he felt crawling up his spine that day, he makes it his personal mission to face it head-on until it’s gone.”
(Or: Being friends with Bakugou Katsuki is anything but a linear experience. Kirishima Eijirou would have it no other way.)

Bakugou is staring.
Eyes on the page, Kirishima tries to focus on the function he’s been struggling to get for fifteen minutes now. Something about tangents and right angles? No, cotangents, which is different from a non-cotangent tangent because–
Bakugou has stopped writing a while ago, the fabric-covered pen resting loosely in his hand, his head propped up on a fist.
–the cosine does… something with the sine of X. Division? Maybe? X pops up in a bunch of places, actually, and Kirishima longs for the days math still featured numbers and not whatever nonsense this cos-sin-tan stuff is–
Bakugou is staring right at him, has been for ages now and Kirishima can’t help it. He looks up, only to catch Bakugou looking away, and huffs a nervous chuckle.
“Bro, c’mon. What’s up? Is there something on my face ‘cause you’ve been–”
“It’s black.” There’s a pensive twist to Bakugou’s brow. He breezes through the part of the problem Kirishima’s stuck on like it’s nothing, scribbled down in permanent ink like the monster he is. “Your natural haircolor. It’s black, right?”
“Uh, yeah?”
Kirishima picks his head up from where he’s slumped across Bakugou’s desk, the bean bag he’s sitting on shifting under his butt. Since when does Bakugou care about his hair? It hasn’t been black for over a year, anyways, so what does that have to do with…
“Wait, why do you–”
Bakugou’s eyes wander back to him, landing on Kirishima’s hair for barely a second but it’s enough. With a mortified noise, Kirishima slaps both his hands over his forehead – or more specifically, his roots.
Because Kirishima completely forgot he’s overdue on a redye for a good week and styled his hair as he usually does: gel evenly spread into carefully towel-dried strands, quirk on until it dries, done. He hadn’t looked into a mirror before heading to class or he would’ve seen his tips straying from cherry red to berry pink.
And that jet-black line where it’s growing back out. The roots that are the bane of Kirishima’s existence and that Bakugou saw.
Kirishima groans, curling into himself until his head hits wood with a dull donk. “How bad is it? Don’t spare me, bro, I need to know.”
That rhymes, the part of his brain not burning in the hellfire of shame chimes in. Kirishima firmly tells it to shut up.
“Your hair?”, Bakugou asks from an unknown realm beyond the bit of desk Kirishima’s staring at, a beat late. Probably to treat him to a glare he can’t see.
Kirishima rubs his forehead across his math homework in a miserable nod.
“It’s not more or less shitty than usual, Shitty Hair.” Bakugou scoffs. “What’s the big deal?”
“Oh, nothing”, Kirishima shrugs, his voice a fake-cheerful mumble, “Just that I’ve been walking around like this all day. A whole ass day. Kill me, now.”
“Nah. Wasn’t the idea to ‘die like a man in chivalrous battle’?”
Kirishima shoots him a dirty look. Bakugou doesn’t even bat an eye; he flashes his teeth in a bright smile and knocks his fists against each other, whispering “manly” under his breath and okay, why does Bakugou have to be good at everything, including impersonating Kirishima?
“I hate you”, grumbles Kirishima. Bakugou breaks character to cackle, only stopping after Kirishima balls up his pitiful attempt at math to throw it at his head. Bull’s eye, right on the forehead.
“Oi! That’s your homework, moron.”
“You started it”, Kirishima points at him with his pencil. His notepad is pulled closer with a deep, long sigh. “Now I gotta do this stuff again and stress about my hair. Amazing.”
Ah, the God-help-me eyeroll. It’s been a while. “Just go fucking dye it and come back if it bothers you so much. Can’t be that hard.”
“Says the blond guy”, Kirishima huffs. “Dude, do you even know how long getting rid of this” – a gesture to his roots – “takes? Black hair is a pain to bleach. Literally.”
Bakugou considers his hair with a frown. “…How long are we talking here? Like, an hour?”
A laugh, louder than Kirishima intends. “Try three. Sometimes more, it depends.”
“Three hours?!”
“Or more.”
A little smug, Kirishima watches disbelief bloom on Bakugou’s face. When it comes to this, destroying the innocence of the uninitiated is the only joy he’s got. There’s really nothing fun about sitting through those hours every six weeks, give or take – just plain, boring routine. At least he isn’t anxious about making mistakes anymore, not like his first few times.
It’s definitely worth it, though. Kirishima loves his red hair.
“And it, what. It hurts?”
Bakugou is still processing it seems, a hand going to his own hair. (It looks so soft, that even light color Kirishima has envied since the beginning of time. Such a nice base for any type of dye, especially bright ones or pastels.)
Kirishima scrunches his nose. “The developer does, yeah. Anything over 9% makes your scalp burn like crazy so I stick to 9% and do multiple rounds. I can’t go light enough for the red I want, otherwise.”
“And then the dye?”
“Then you dye it, yeah. Roots first, then the lengths in small strands, let it sit for twenty more minutes or so, rinse it out and then you’re done.”
It’s weird to explain things that have become totally obvious to him step by step, but Bakugou looks strangely fascinated by what he’s hearing. He does likes things to be more complicated than simple in basically any regard, Kirishima muses with a private snicker. Perhaps it’s not that surprising, after all.
“I use pure red on everything but you can mix colors, too, there’s a whole science behind that. And if you decide ‘Hey, I haven’t suffered enough!’, you can do individual highlights as well. But that’s a production all in itself! Ask Kami, he does some wild things to get that lightning bolt just right.”
Bakugou slowly shakes his head. “You people are crazy. That can’t be worth it.” He squints at Kirishima, hums to himself and starts nodding, instead. Vaguely terrified of what’s brewing in that brain of his, Kirishima waits for him to finish thinking.
“Let’s do it.”
There it is, a suitably terrible idea. Also: What?
“Color or highlights?” Kirishima sputters. “Wait, you or me? Bro, I can live with my own mistakes but dyeing your hair is too much pressure. Like, I’ll do it if you really want me to but, um–”
“Color. And you, obviously. Who of us is freaking out about hair, huh? Sure as fuck ain’t me.”
I’m not freaking out about it, Kirishima wants to say. Okay, he had been freaking out a little. Maybe. Not anymore, not with the mental image of Bakugou with Riot-red hair sort of making his braincells implode.
It’s impossible to imagine. Kirishima tries to anyways, fails, shakes his head. Focus!
“But…”
He draws a blank. Actually, Bakugou helping him with his hair does sound kind of fun. Until his patience inevitably runs out and he explodes the pot of dye, or something. Which could be hilarious, too.
“…Homework?”
(Not that he particularly wants to go back to puzzling over non-tangent cotangents – Ectoplasm always seems to know when he didn’t do the thing, though, and Kirishima hates disappointing his teachers more than he does the variable X.)
Bakugou sparks off in his direction. “We got three hours. 'nuff said.” He snatches up the math book they were sharing, Kirishima’s notepad and even the pencil out of his hand, and is out the room before Kirishima has fully registered they’re doing this.
“Shitty Hair!”
Kirishima jumps to his feet.
“Coming!”
*
“This is so damn messy. How’s your bathroom not stained to hell already?”
Coming up on their third round over his bathroom sink, Kirishima feels little sleepy as he blinks up at Bakugou. That expression of intense concentration hasn’t budged all three rounds, Bakugou’s hands steady yet gentle where they’re starting to dab red dye over freshly bleached roots.
There’s a dot of crimson on his cheek already. After forcing gloves on Bakugou and explaining to him how red pigment is the hardest to wash out – on clothes, skin, hair, wherever it lands – Kirishima isn’t inclined to point it out to him just yet.
“I asked admin about it. They said everything in our rooms is practically indestructible, including the sinks.”
“Huh.”
“Yeah, right? They thought of everything, it seems.”
Bakugou continues. Kirishima dozes.
“Your hair is dry as fuck, by the way.”
Kirishima shrugs with his eyes closed, following the nudge to turn his head so Bakugou can get to the back. This is so much more comfortable than doing it by himself.
“Can’t be helped, man. The dye by itself is fine, actually, it’s the bleach that’s causes most of the damage. Oh well, with the gel it’s hard as concrete, anyways.”
“Mhmm. You’ll go bald by the time we’re outta here.”
“Hey!”
“Bald Hero: Red Riot”, Bakugou muses out loud, easily evading the kick Kirishima blindly aims at his shin. “Stop it, you’re gonna fuck up my hard work here.”
He’s smiling though, Kirishima can tell. It’s all in his voice, roughness replaced by warmth when it’s the two of them in Kirishima’s tiny bathroom.
“Stop dissing my hair, then. Besides, I know your secret.”
This Kirishima wants to see. He opens one eye and yup, Bakugou’s brows are doing the thing where they twitch and pull together. Not exactly a frown, more caught off guard than anything. Bakugou’s lips press shut, stubbornly silent as he brushes dye on every inch of Kirishima's hair.
Then: “I’m done. What am I s’posed to do with this shit?”
Kirishima glances at the pot Bakugou holds out to him. There’s still some of the thick liquid left.
“Just pour it on top. Can’t hurt and it’s better than throwing it away.”
Bakugou does exactly that. He tosses the empty pot and the thoroughly stained brush into the sink. Kirishima helps him wrap his hair in cellophane and a towel to reduce the possible mess, relocating to the closed lid of his toilet so Bakugou can take off the gloves and wash his hands.
“Okay, I’ll fucking bite. What secret?”
Lingering on the tension between them, Kirishima grins with all the confidence in the world. “That you like my hair.”
Bakugou barks a laugh. “After I went all Van Gogh on it? You better believe it’s good.”
“Nope, I mean before that”, Kirishima challenges.
“Proof?”, Bakugou shoots back without hesitation.
“Oh, I can give you proof.” Kirishima’s arms cross over the ratty shirt he always wears for this, its fabric dotted and streaked in interlacing shades of red. “One, it’s the first thing you noticed about me, hence ‘Shitty Hair’. Two, you were distracted by my roots growing in so you pay attention to how it looks–”
“I don’t–”
“–and three, you just spent hours dyeing it for me.”
Bakugou’s mouth snaps shut. He growls in his throat, grabbing an additional towel and drying his hands. Kirishima wasn’t aware those are actions that can be done aggressively but hey, he’s learning something new every day.
“Maybe”, Bakugou finally concedes. The towel is thrown in Kirishima’s face when all he does is smile. “Shut up.”
“I didn’t say anything.”
Bakugou’s cheeks are dusted pink. Still, Kirishima shows the guy some mercy: Bakugou spent all afternoon fixing both his hair and his math homework, after all.
“Hey, Baku?”
“… What?”
“Thanks, man. You’re a good friend, you know that?”
Somehow, that makes Bakugou look even more flustered. “Whatever, Shitty Hair.”
Because Bakugou is Bakugou, namely a man who doesn’t know when or how to quit, he sticks around until Kirishima can rinse out the dye. He emerges from the shower feeling fully restored, a towel wrapped around his waist and his shirt draped over his shoulder.
“And that’s how you do it.”
Bakugou throws him a look from his sprawl on Kirishima’s bed, manga in hand. His gaze flicks to his hair immediately; his lips twist upwards, obviously satisfied.
“Told ya, it ain’t hard.”
Kirishima chuckles, shakes his head. “You’re so full of shit, dude.”
Now that the hair situation is under control for a few weeks, he realizes how hungry he is. The evening has barely begun, too, which means there’s time for a movie before Bakugou’s ridiculous sleep schedule comes a-knocking, either taking him out or making him cranky. Each scenario has about a fifty-fifty chance of happening.
“Hey, you wanna–”
Out of nowhere, his door bursts open to reveal one Kaminari Denki, out of breath and clutching a very familiar book to his chest.
“Kiri! Please tell me you guys figured out the–”
His eyes fall first on the splattered shirt on Kirishima’s shoulder, the trails of watery red dripping from his hair to his naked chest – and then on Bakugou, hands stained a faint red despite the gloves, that smear of color on his cheek Kirishima forgot to tell him about still very much there.
“Is that blood? What happened? Oh my–” Kaminari gasps. “Did you kill somebody?! Oh fuck, we have to hide the bo–”
“Kami”, Kirishima tries between bouts of laughter, “No, what the hell!”
A familiar cackle behind him does absolutely nothing to help their case.

For the ask meme, 3) and 17), please? And maybe 25) if you're up to it? Irrelevant but I'm the Tormentil- missing/Harrierpaw ruddles from Ailuronymy – I love your writing too, it's amazing! (I'm very excited for a potential Riverclan full-length story, like MAMS, at some point – even if I have to wait quite a while)
Hello there! Thank you so much for saying so, that’s lovely to hear. Please don’t hold your breath for a Riverclan novel, though! It’s not even on my concept list at this point and there’s a lot of other stories, including full-length ones, I’m going to be attempting first. So it’s not impossible for me to write a Riverclan one--it would be pretty neat to have a novel for each clan--but I can’t promise it’ll ever happen at this stage. Maybe! But also maybe not. It’s a mystery for me too.
Now on to your questions!
Send an ask: get to know the author.
3. What order do you write in? Front of book to back? Chronological? Favourite scenes first? Something else?
For all my Warriors work so far, I’ve written from beginning to end. In part that’s just because of the episodic nature of chapters, but also I’d say that’s my default approach for all my writing. When I get into original fiction--and especially big original fiction, novel-length work--I expect I’ll be taking a much more flexible approach, probably jumping around based on the vibe sometimes, but I like linearity because the first draft is really just getting the building blocks on the page. After that point, then you start really sculpting and being clever with it and moving bits around once you have a sense of the whole.
But for me, I think that first stage is more about getting a clarity of purpose and a rough outline--and that can be done pretty well with front-to-back writing.
17. If you could give your fledgling author self any advice, what would it be?
Don’t sweat it. That stuff you think is important is completely not important at all. You’re doing all this nitty-gritty obsessive researching and “world-building” pointless, mundane aspects of the world because you: 1. are procrastinating actually writing; 2. have been tricked into thinking that’s what the “good” “serious” fantasy writers do, because that’s what a lot of boring old guys you don’t even like to read do and brag about, and you’re still believing can’t be a good fantasy writer without that, because that’s the popular image of a fantasy writer; & 3. are scared if you’re not perfect and exact in every detail, people are going to tear your writing apart for being “inaccurate” or making a mistake.
That’s no way to live. You don’t like doing it, really. You’re trying to preempt criticism from people who weren’t ever going to like your writing anyway, and I think you know that. You’re trying to imitate authors you don’t even want to write like, because you think what they write is kind of boring and flat and it’s really straight and you sort of hate it, but you feel you should since it’s what’s “right”.
But you’re not being authentic to yourself, or your vision, or your talent, or what you want to write, and you should be.
It’s really not your fault you feel this way, but you’re going to be so much happier when you realise this version of a fantasy writer is all total hokum and not your style and instead start writing what you want to, the way you want to. People are really going to like what you’re bringing to the table. It’s going to set you apart and you’re going to love writing fantasy that’s a bit weird and kooky and self-indulgent and fun and queer and all the things those old books just aren’t.
I can’t stress how liberating it will be to put on heart-shaped pink sunglasses and decide that the most important thing your writing has to be is genuine and fun for you. You never wanted to write realist fiction anyway. Secondary worlds forever.
25. Copy-paste a few sentences or a short paragraph that you’re particularly proud of.
I thought about it for a bit because something I never do here is share any poetry I write, despite writing a decent amount of it. Partly that’s just not this blog’s audience, but also a lot of it I hope one day to put into publication, if only in a little chapbook. That said, I wrote this a while back on commission for someone’s character who was deathly ill and his lovers left behind, so I don’t mind sharing it now. It’s a tanka set (5-7-5-7-7, a bit like a haiku).
summer has four hands,  he remembers, and twenty  loving fingertips-- and it doesn't end, ever;  it lasts a lifetime--at least, in his heart--even as his own fingertips grew slow and cold, his hands too weak to return a touch, to reach out and hold on, to find comfort in their  warm skin and promise them that he would be okay: each new winter weighed him down with the too-familiar  tiredness of a body with not quite enough life in it, like a garden under the frost, cold and withdrawn at the edges of the leaves, waiting for a sunrise that isn't coming. The ground, he remembers, was solid as stone under the snow that last winter, a final  cruel laugh from the world, as though giving him to the  earth--as though burying a lover--was not hard enough for them already-- but it was a pain that time alone could heal; so he waited, in the place so near and so far away, until the seasons moved once more and time brought them to his open hands, ten fingertips made of light, never to let go again. when he remembers the living world, he thinks of it better than it  was and forgives it for the brevity and falling snow.

25 more things I learned during a global pandemic from your Local Teenage Train wreck :) (Pt. 2)
1. Gaining weight is okay. Losing weight is okay. Bodies fluctuate and are inconsistent. Just make sure that you’re trying your best to be healthy, whatever that means for you.
2. School is hard, especially during a global. freaking. pandemic. Don’t beat yourself up if it’s harder to get up in the morning or your grades aren’t as high as they usually are. It’s hard right now.
3. You’re mental health comes above all. School, responsibilities, and personal projects are not worth your time if it’s affecting your mental health. If your gut is telling you to take a break, take a break!
4. If you feel lonely, get a plant to keep in your room. Do some research as to that plants do best with the type of lighting in your room, and figure out some basic care instructions. Have someone to take care of besides yourself. Name your plants, and take care of them.
5. Even if you’re not good at writing, I suggest you keep a journal during this time. It kept me sane over the summer, and even though I eventually stopped because of limited time with school starting back up, it helped to keep me sane in the worst of the pandemic.
6. If you’re spiritual (or even if you’re not) learn how to do shadow work. This isn’t anything that has to be spiritual or done in just one religion. It’s basically giving yourself a chance and a space to be open and honest with yourself and to learn what you might need to work on through writing. If you google it, you can find a more in depth explanation, and prompts to start doing it. You basically give yourself a prompt. They can be questions like “What’s the biggest lie you’ve told someone else or yourself?” or they can be a little less heavy like “What are five non physical things that you genuinely like about yourself?”. This can be pretty heavy, and can dig up some unwanted emotions, but that’s the whole point; to deal with the emotions you may have been repressing and letting fester inside of you.
7. On days when you’re not feeling well mentally, take a break. It’s okay to drop everything and get an extra hour of sleep, read, or do something else to make yourself feel better.
8. After hard days, I know the last thing you want to do is get up and continue on, but here are some ways to do it:
- lay out an outfit that’s put together, but not as over the top. No sweat pants or crappy clothes, but it doesn’t have to be your usual put together outfits with a full face of makeup. A nice crewneck and a nice pair of black athletic leggings can go a long way.
-wear your comfort jewelry. I wear my beaded necklace that I bought for myself,  the silver ring my grandma gave me and the gold cross ring that my mom gave to me when I got confirmed.
-eat breakfast. A handful of cereal will do. Anything. But eat something. I like to make oatmeal. It sounds boring but if you make it right, it tastes just perfect for mornings when you don’t feel hungry but know inside that you are. Recipe is next on the list :)
-go to school. I know you want to lay in bed. I know the last place you want to be is a crowded building full of pubescent teens that aren’t nice, but go. Go to learn. Go to absorb knowledge like a sponge, and don’t worry if you fail and lose some of the water, because you can always soak it up later.
-if you have practice, rehearsal, a game, whatever, be gentle on yourself. Today might not be your best day physically, because the brain controls everything. Forgive yourself if you can’t land that double pirouette, get to the high note, or make that assist. You’re abilities are stagnant, and they’re going to change depending on how you feel
-When you get home, turn off your phone. Friends, social media, etc. can wait. Set a timer for one hour. Do work for just that hour. When the timer rings, finish what you were doing and then stop. Now have a 20 minute break and do something that’s not screen related. Read a book, draw something; heck, stare at the wall for 20 minutes and space out. When the timer rings, do another hour and repeat the same process until it’s all done.
-have a playlist you listen to to heal you. Sad boi hours are ok, just make sure to have a playlist of songs that get you moving again.
-Sleep. Even if that means putting off work for tomorrow. It’s ok. You really need it.
9. Oatmeal seems gross until you know how to prepare it. When you do, it’s revolutionary. It’s a high volume, low calorie food, so you’ll stay full for a while without overeating, all while consuming less calories than you would with a traditional breakfast cereal.
The right way to make it:
-measure out half a cup of old fashioned oats. Not steel cut. Those aren’t as good.
-MOST IMPORTANT STEP: add half a cup of water and half a cup of milk of your choice. I personally like almond milk because it’s kind of sweet already even when it’s unsweetened.
-SECOND MOST IMPORTANT STEP: add a pinch of salt, a sprinkle of cinnamon, and allspice, and a teaspoon or two of maple syrup. This is what makes it taste palatable. It’s less sugar than store-bought, and tastes amazing.
-Microwave that shit for one minute and stir. It should look kind of lumpy, but not a ton. Then, put another minute on. Stir at every half increment. (After 30 seconds, every 15 seconds, and then every 7) This is so it doesn’t boil over. Then, take it out, stir it one last time, and let it sit for a second.
-Wash up some berries to put in it. I love blueberries and or blackberries.
perfect oatmeal every. single. time. Feel free to add more toppings like nuts or if you wanna treat yourself chocolate or substitute the spices, but this is honestly one of my favorite breakfasts that keeps me full throughout the day.
10. Learn a new language. Yes, Duolingo is annoying, but do it. Find one that you’ll like to learn and that’s easy for you. Try them on like old clothes and find one that fits just right. For me, it’s French. Expose yourself to that language. Listen to music, read books (or try to) and watch movies with subtitles. Soon enough, you’ll be eager to learn more.
11. Learn how to use notion.com. It’s super amazing. You can literally keep track of your entire life there. It’s pretty fun to use as well. I made schedules for each day after school, a reading log, a want to read list, a personal habit tracker, etc, and they’re all extremely helpful.
12. Make a list of things you weren’t allowed to do as a kid and do one every day. Heal your inner child by finally itching the spot that may not have been scratched for years.
13. Learn how to make origami stars. They’re really easy, and I can’t recommend Maqaroon’s (Joanna’s) video on how to make them enough. Once you’ve got it down, get yourself a nice big jar and write down things you’re grateful for on the slips of paper you’re going to fold. Fill up your gratitude jar and make a wish once it’s full. It will come true.
14. Have 30 minutes a day to put your phone down and read. Yes. You will have to sacrifice something to do this, but it’s so important and good for not only information retention and learning, but for mental health as well. Even if you have to get up half an hour earlier to do it, it’s worth it.
15. It’s okay to be alone, but learn to recognize the difference between alone and lonely. If you’re lonely, here are some things to do:
-write a letter to a friend. It’s something nice you can do for yourself and others, and it’s not feeding into the toxic instant reply culture that we live in
-read a book or watch a show that gets you to connect with the characters, even if that means (I've said it before and I’ll say it again) rereading a favorite ya series or binging atla for the fiftieth time. It’s good for the soul.
-take a walk and smile at the people you see coming past. Again, it’s good for the soul.
-go to the coffee shop and ask the barista to make you a drink that tastes like “_____” (insert whatever you want there. It could be a color, song, feeling, etc.) It’s weird and uncomfortable, but it gives you a conversation starter and 9.9 times out of 10 a really good drink. (Also helpful for when you think the barrista’s cute)
-Reading in general. It opens up so many new worlds with the turn of a page.
16. Monitor your food intake. No, don’t restrict your food intake, monitor it. This means first seeing exactly what your putting in your body and altering it to gradually improve to a clean diet. Humans weren’t built to process all the preservatives, additives and sugars found in most processed food (cereals, chips, anything in a foil bag that’s either really sweet or really salty) and it’s important to cut down and if possible eliminate as much as you can of it out of your diet. Food is fuel, and you truly are what you eat. You’ll notice that by increasing your vegetable intake, reducing white processed sugars and carbs*, and cutting out sodas/extra sugars, that you’ll feel better. This isn’t a weight loss thing, but you may start to trim down a little bit once you go more intense with it. You don’t have to eliminate anything fully, and please enjoy your favorite “bad” foods! Everything in moderation is perfect! Just make sure that you’re getting the good stuff in there too! *Side note, do NOT cut out carbs! See my post on how I’m losing weight to get more into depth on this.
17. Buy fresh flowers for yourself. Who says that you have to wait for someone else? That’s completely false, and you should totally treat yourself to a nice bouquet on occasion, especially in the dead of winter.
18. The whole idea of self love is flawed. Loving yourself has nothing to do with the way you look. Loving yourself comes with genuinely loving your life. If you don't love the way you’re living, change it. Make and set goals. Fail at achieving those goals. Get back up and try again until you finally get it, but make sure that whatever you’re doing, you’re doing to love the life you live. Life doesn’t live you. You live life.
19. Have candles and incense. (Or a diffuser if you’re not allowed to burn stuff) Making your environment smell good makes a huge difference
20. Once you turn 18, get a tattoo. It doesn’t have to mean anything. Pick something small and get it behind your ear, on your ankle, wrist, fingers, whatever. You’ll love having the memory when your old.
21. Realize your worth. We often put ourselves down because we think that valuing ourselves is equivalent to selfishness. It’s not. At all. You are just as important as everyone else. Your voice matters too.
22. Go to art museums
23. Go to free concerts in the park
24. Expose yourself to new art, ideas, and literature
25. Life is gonna suck sometimes. It’s just how it is. That doesn’t mean a bad day’s gonna last forever. As cheesy as it is, keep your head up :)

"4000 YouTube watch hours" and its true meaning that creators couldn't help but know!
What are Youtube watch hours?
Watch time metric tracks how long each viewer watches a particular video. According to YouTube, this metric applies not only to individual videos, but also to the entire channel as well.
The platform once states that “channels and videos having lots of watch time result in higher visibility on the search engine and recommendations”.
Nevertheless, there’s a common misconception that watch hours is directly proportional to the length of the video. You can’t improve public watch time simply by creating a longer video, since the content quality is more important than the video’s length.
4000 watch hours? This number isn’t too strange to Youtubers anymore. For your information, if you’re little exposed on this subject, this is one of the compulsory conditions for a Youtube channel to join the Youtube Partner Program (YPP).
In 2018, Youtube had made a change in requirements for channels that they must meet at least 4000 watch hours and 1000 subscribers within 1 year in order to start monetization.
Hence, by a conventional and audience-oriented way, we just need to create videos with great content that appeal to viewers and motivate them to subscribe to the channel to reach this threshold.
Furthermore, you need to finish this task in a consecutive 365 days from any given date.
To be more detail, let’s say you have 2000 watch hours and for the first 6 months and in a year, you only have 3500 watch hours. This figure hasn’t been eligible for Youtube Partner Program (YPP) yet.
However, in the next 6 months, you have gained 5500 watch hours, you can send the monetized application. Watch hours will still be valid  as long as you keep earning enough for 1 year.
Apart from that, you also need 1000 subscribers and you can get this threshold in a lifetime since this requirement isn’t time-constrained. On the contrary, bear in mind that the more subscribers you have, the more views and watch time your videos generate.
So, the revenue is just on the side of a coin. Another reason (maybe the real reason) of 4000 watch hours you should aim for is the engagement between you and the potential audiences.
You need to produce high-quality videos constantly or else, the video’s views decrease, and ultimately the connection will drop meaning the less amount of money you will have.
How does Youtube count the watch time?
Watch time metric keeps track of how long a viewer watches a particular video. This metric applies not only to individual videos, but also to the entire channel as well.
However, there’s a common misunderstanding that public watch hours is directly proportional to the length of the video. Consequently,  you can’t just grow public watch time simply by creating a longer video, as the quality is more important than the video’s length.
Now, let’s do some math!
You need 4000 hours watch time from all the videos you post on your channel. That means 240,000 minutes of viewing is required. Let’s say just one person watches your video, he/she will have to watch your video 24/24 for 166.67 days continuously. Indeed, that is completely impossible.
Moreover, no matter how unpopular your channel is, only one person viewing your channel is too few. (since the video-sharing site has 2 billion visitors per month anyway).
It will be difficult for you to predict the number of viewers who are willing to come to your Youtube channel. So let’s focus on the number and duration of each video.
For instance, on average, you post a 10-minute video per day within 1 year, and you’re the only viewer, so you have 3,650 minutes of viewing. That’s not enough, so you’ll need around 65 more people to watch your videos.
Again, this sounds kind of stupid, a bit!
Those people have to watch the videos every day for a year consecutively, as well as watch the whole 10 minutes. Well this makes sense in some sorts of way, unless you can really get 65 people you know into the habit of spending 10 minutes a day watching all of your videos, then we have nothing left to say.
That’s a good deal too good for you.
However, all mathematical calculations work only on paper. 365 videos in a year is too much, random and redundant, even though a channel with a large number of videos will be a good platform for Youtube to evaluate your channel.
In addition, ideas cannot be forced. Continuously planning and implementing ideas for 10-minute video content is an ineffective tactic (and that doesn’t take into account video production yet).
Another issue is the content quality. As we mentioned, Youtube has over 2 billion visitors a month, with more than 500 videos uploaded every minute.
On this video-sharing platform, there are tens of thousands of types of videos that creators upload, so this is no different from a fierce “content battlefield” of increasing views and subscribers.
Make sure your content is unique and original to increase your audience engagement, and make sure they watch all of your videos.
Besides, there is another factor like promotion campaigns for your channel. Just uploading a video is not enough, good content without finding the potential is also in vain. Your videos will be completely buried in the 500 videos posted every minute.
Tips for complete 4000 watch hours fast on YouTube
Optimize videos to increase views
There are many ways to optimize the video. For example, put the title containing keywords.
This is the basic foundation that you need to build firmly before you plan to develop your channel abroad. Normally your title should be short and be around 56 characters long.
Pressing too many keywords in the title will make the title lose its attractiveness and creativity, but gradually becomes stiff.  Videos are like a boring textbook that states what to say, not as attractive as videos while playing while learning. If your title contains many keywords, it will overwhelm the audience.
Therefore, you should consider how to make the title both SEO factor and the appropriate length when appearing on the search engine bar. The longer the title will make the viewer do not want to click.
In addition to the title, you need to pay attention to the video quality in terms of both audio and visual. You need to pay attention to watch videos with 720 or higher HD resolution.
Once you ensure meticulousness and carefulness in each step of creating video content, it will easily achieve 4000 watch hours fast on YouTube. You can make phrases that pull or guide something. For example “Unexpected …”, “How to …”, “Revealing the secret …”, …
Currently, many YouTubers prefer to use tools such as https://keywordtool.io/google to analyze and avoid tagging by few people searching.
Thanks to this keyword analysis tool, many people can raise the channel to the top of the display, allowing the channel to reach more viewers.
The more you know how to do keyword research to include it in your video title, the easier it is for your video to reach the trending top.
Once it has reached the top and is recognized by YouTube as not violating the rules, the complete 4000 watch hours are only sooner or later.
Remember three factors you need to keep in mind: good title – good SEO keywords – impressive channel name.
Just the above three factors, your channel will easily reach the milestone of 4000 watch hours. From there, you can meet 1 of YouTube’s monetization criteria.
Since January 16, 2018, YouTube has issued a monetization regime that the channel must reach 4000 watch hours within 12 months and 1000 subscribers. Therefore, video optimization is the basic thing that you must do to strive during the race to reach 4000 watch hours within 12 months and 1000 subscribers.
Optimize video description
Write your description as concisely, as well as enough, as much as you can. Below the description must add a web link, Facebook, phone number, … to increase interaction.
You can also prompt viewers to click on the new clips you just posted to discover interesting things.
The keywords that you analyze in search engines should also be included in the description so that viewers know your video is pointing to what they are looking for.
Do not be subjective and neglect to invest in video descriptions. Because now a lot of YouTubers fail just because they do not know how to get more attention and popularity in the public eye.
The more professional you are and the more thorough your description is, the more easily your video will be in the top search of YouTube.
The extra keywords that are scattered around the description make your video stand out in the eyes of the viewer and the position of suggested videos.
Some basic guidelines for optimizing video descriptions are as follows:
You need to make sure the keyword is in the first 25 words
Make a description of at least 250 words and no more
Repeat keyword 2 to 4 times
Please insert some related video links with the same topic for viewers to enjoy clicking explore
If you follow the above requirements, YouTube and Google will not list your videos in the spam list.
Another important thing is that you must build a backlink from outside to do “SEO off the page” YouTube video.
You should use a link with the form of text links or iframe to link directly. Never talk about sales because readers may be offensive.
You need to give your audience the feeling that you create value and that they will click to support new value creation and spread in the community.
 Backlink YouTube video
SEO Backlink means the process of pushing SEO keywords to the top of Google search by creating multiple backlinks on your YouTube channel.
SEO YouTube video backlink has the same nature as SEO Backlink on Google for the website. You should note that the backlink should not be shot too hard but must be steady for viewers to click as a habit.
You need to be careful not to shoot the text link, the anchor text is too hard and forced.
Through sharing links on social media such as website, Facebook, Reddit, Tumblr, LinkedIn, … you can earn a rich source of views from many platforms.  You can take advantage of fan pages that share the same topic with videos or groups with a large number of members to effectively promote the videos in the channel.
Dofollow links are important because Google only uses these links when determining search engine rankings. That said, Nofollow links will not be able to rank your video up.  Make sure internal linking with tracking links is a major determinant and related to each other. Create an expanded video with the same theme for people to organically click on the video.
If the tool to check website traffic is Google Analytics, Google Search Console, SEMrush, Bitly, … then the tool to check YouTube video traffic is YouTube Analytics.
Therefore, if you have completed the above procedures and want to check that 4000 watch hours fast on YouTube is complete, you can immediately use YouTube Analytics.
 Adword advertising
How to pull views with Adword ads has a huge advantage because it allows you to research deeply and identify detailed audiences.
Who is the target of the YouTube channel, in which country, what is the age group to how much, what interests, …
For example, if you post a video about a car, do not pay attention to people under 15 Age or over 80, that is the age when buying a car. However, how to do Adword ads to increase views, you also have to spend a lot of money.
If you want to cut money, then you can search for people with business accounts to help you run views quickly.
It can be said that pulling views through Adword ads helps many YouTubers complete 4000 watch hours fast on YouTube.
Exchange views
View exchange is usually done by new YouTubers. This good process takes a lot of time and effort. Because you need to increase the view, sub, like, comment, … to get “coin” and get “coin” to increase views.
View exchange sites like Addfast are all too familiar with YouTubers.
To Add fast, there are also view exchange software such as Uview or subscribers like Usub software.
However, if you overuse the tool or view exchange software, only your channel will lose in the long term. Your channel has no loyal viewers. That means that if you do not use the view exchange software, your channel will be easily forgotten and monetization cannot be enabled.
However, there is another possibility that your video is powerful enough to engage viewers and make them stop.
Besides, when seeing positive metrics like likes, registrations, or comments, viewers tend to click more instead of just having a few comments.
In addition to using view exchange software, there is an option that many YouTubers choose to use VPS, VPN to increase views. Renting a VPS or VPN helps you save money when renting a machine running at home. The effects of running VPS at home effectively but bring many undesirable consequences.
The first harm is that Google and YouTube notice and detect that you use a tool to help increase fake views and subs. From then, your video is canceled and the channel disappears forever.
In addition to using VPS or VPN, another tool that many people use to achieve 4000 watch hours is using bots or proxies. However, this only puts your video and channel at risk of being detected by YouTube and deleting fake views.
Currently, in addition to “plowing the view” through software or exchanging views, it is possible to apply view buying services such as SEPClick, QQtube, …

What happens after you reach 4000 watch hours on Youtube?
If you want to keep track of your watch  hours, YouTube Studio has a dedicated page in the left handed navigation panel called ‘Monetization’. This shows you both subscribers and the progress of watch hours your videos have gained.
On the next step, now you can apply for the Youtube Partner Program. Follow these steps:
- Sign in to YouTube.
- On the top right, click on your profile picture -> YouTube Studio.
- In the left menu, click on Monetization.
If you haven’t hit 4000 watch hours and 1000 subscribers yet, click “Notify me when I qualify” to receive email notifications when you’ve reached 1000 subscribers and 4000 watch hours in the last 12 months. If you hit the threshold above, click the Get Started button on the “Review Partner Program Terms” tab.
Once you have signed the terms, Youtube will mark this step with a green “Done” symbol on the “Review Partner Program Terms” tab.
At this point, you have completed the first step in the process of making money from Youtube, which is to register to become a partner of Youtube. In order to have money in your pocket, you need to register an Adsense account for your Youtube channel.
In the monetization section, click View monetization settings.
A menu box as below will appear, you click on “How will I get paid?” and choose to link to an Adsense account.
Then the Adsense’s instructions are complete. Registration form Your Google Adsense will be reviewed in 1-2 days.
Once you sign the YouTube Partner Program terms and connect to your AdSense account, your channel will automatically be queued for review. Youtube’s automated systems and reviewers will then review the content on your channel to check if the channel complies with all of its guidelines.
It will take at least 30 days for the evaluation to be completed, and Youtube will contact you to announce its decision on your channel after the review is complete.
If you’re accepted into the Youtube Partner Program, you are allowed to make money on Youtube from the ads displayed on your videos (by Google) as well as enable other monetization features.
And unfortunately you’re disapproved, meaning reviewers found out that the majority of content on your channel is not in compliance with the platform’s policies and guidelines. As a result, you can reapply 30 days after the denial.
Furthermore, some creators may have to wait for over a month. There are many reasons for delays, such as more applications than usual, system problems or sometimes, we may need to reallocate resources, or decision-making time can be longer as creator’s channels may need to be reviewed multiple times.

Some new bookish asks for you all
Hi I didn’t get tagged to do this, but I’m bored and I’ve got some hot takes. I’m going to start the chain. Imma tag some peeps too. Do the whole thing if you want or not at all. @scxrletguardsdawn @evangelineartemiasamos @cptdanvxrs
1. Which book would you consider the best book you’ve ever read and why?
Honeslty a hard tie between The Red Queen Series and Elsewhere. Okay, so while RQ does have it’s flaws, it was a book series I started my sophomore year of high school when I was starting to reach the bottom of the barrel mentally and was realizing that maybe I wasn’t as happy as I thought I was. That book got me through high school, along with Glass Sword. When I say I weeped reading Mare Barrow’s internal dialogue in GS I was actually sitting under my covers junior/senior year WEEPING with a flashlight because on one hand I had never felt closer to a character, and on the other had never felt so understood in a book before. As for Elsewhere... that book (while being a young readers book) profoundly affected how I view life, death, and everything in between. I highly recommend it. You have to have a little patience with it as an older reader, because it is probably meant for middle school readers, but some of the things said in that book are definitely meant for older readers to ponder.
2. Are you an Austen person or a Bronte person?
Haut take. Both. (P&P holds a very special place in my heart)
3. Are there any genres you will not read?
Contemporary romance and Contemporary/non-fiction books (i’ve tried. I really have to read these and I just cant do it.)
4. Are you a fast or slow reader?
Depends on your definition of slow/fast. I’d say I’m fast, I can read 500-600 page books in a day, but that’s going morning until almost 2 the next morning.
5. What was your relationship with books like as a child?
They were my escape. I was heavily bullied in elementary/middle school so I would read 2-3 in a week to just escape. I think this is why I can’t read contemporary stuff, I need the fantasy.
6. Are you the type of person who will read a book to the end whether you like it or not, or will you put it down straight away if you’re not feeling into it?
Honestly, normally I’ll push through. I think the only one I physically put down because I couldn’t take it was ACOWAR. My friend made me finish it two years or so ago so that she could complain without having to explain everything before she did.
7. Have you ever despised something you have read?
*side eyes the entirety of Throne of Glass and A Court of Wings and Ruin*
8. Do you prefer to read first person or third person?
Nope. But I do prefer to write in 1st person (it’s cheating, I know.)
9. Are you for or against multiple narrators in the same book?
Give me all the POVs please.
10. Bookmarks, dog ears or leaving the novel open and face down to keep your spot?
All the above. I’ll use my dog if I have to mark my place if I have nothing nearby XD
11. Do you prefer to read at a certain time of day?
Nope. If I’ve got a book that I’m reading, I’ll read at anytime.
12. Do you need to finish a book before you can move on to the next one, or will you have multiple books going at once?
I feel called out, because right now I have like three books that I’m trying to read at the same time, but I normally like to finish a book before starting another
13. How do you chose which book to read next?
The wand chooses the wizard. Lol normally I find a book that has a good premise that I like and normally I’ll read that. Although I do take suggestions from people.
14. What is your favourite children’s book?
This is very hard but The Tale of Despereaux, or The Wrinkle In Time series. Does the Book Thief count? Cause if so that books on this list too. If we’re talking really really young: The Original Velveteen Rabbit or Goodnight Moon (my mom used to read both to me when I was little and i have vivid memories of that).
15. Do you agree that Jane Eyre should be considered a feminist novel?
Young high school me vehemently says yes. But older wiser me squints and says: hmmmmnnnnnnnn maybe.
16. What’s your favourite of Shakespeare’s plays?
Hamlet, Othello, Much Ado About Nothing, and Macbeth
17. Do you know any poetry by heart?
Sadly no.
18. Did you enjoy the Hunger Games?
I’m unashamed to say I still do.
19. E-reader or traditional book?
I like traditional books, but the older I get the more I like E-readers because it makes it so much easier to transport all my babies.
20. Do you read in the bathroom?
not really.
21. Ideal reading position?
Curled up somewhere with a drink.
22. Hardcover or paperback?
Which ever has the prettier cover XD
23. Nicest edition or cheapest edition?
Which ever has the prettier cover XD
24. Do you prefer happy endings or sad endings?
OOOOOOOo haut take, I prefer the ending that the book calls for. Whether it be happy or sad.
25. Do you enjoy concepts in books to be concrete or abstract?
Depends on what I’m reading. Sometimes, I like a book that calls me to think about the world around me and question things. Other times I like to have a book I can just dive into and tear through without having to think too much. But I think all books call for us to think about abstract concepts of the universe on some level.
26. A book you studied in school and ended up loving?
Jane Eyre, and Brave New World, Tuck Everlasting
27. Classics or modern literature?
Is it not enough to love both equally? XD
28. Thoughts on adults reading YA?
I am an adult reading YA. I dont know if I will ever stop either.
29. Have you ever read a book in another language?
I’ve read some easy books in spanish back when I was in high school.
30. Have you ever written your own book?
Tee hee hee, she’s been sent to an editor and Im await his first thoughts. ((((:

Our Darkness feat. Matatagi Hayato & me
I have been watching episode 25 of IEGo Galaxy and i was... reflecting my self while watching every Hayato's part. I know i don't have a lot followers but i still want to confess my feelings here (i have bad english so correct me immediately).
I still not finishing the orginal series yet. The reason i jump straight to Galaxy series (i even not watching GO series yet, except Fubuki's debut) because i want to see Fubuki in Galaxy series (yeaaaaa honestly i watch this anime just for seeing Fubuki XD i loove this boi) but until now i'm not see him yet.
I don't know how good GO series's story was so i just comparing between the original and the Galaxy here.
Rather than the original series, i think Galaxy series has more insteresting plotline, character develops, designs, backstories, and specially their uniforms X3 but it was too much about playing football with aliens and travelling space with train, but the staff really do a great job building the backstory about it. And that is the reason why the series titled Galaxy and beside all of that, i still love this series more than the original one.
I was get bored at first, but i kinda like Ibuki Munemasa at first episode so i continue to watch this series XD AND UNTIL NOW I STILL LOOOVVVEE HIIM (i'm sorry Fubuki :" ). And i like Matatagi Hayato too when his first problem debut. I was thought his story ended up here, but there is another..
In Galaxy series, there is lot of characters that relateable to real person in our lives. There is Ibuki's cocky personality, Nozaki pushing herself to be number 1, Hayato's behaviour, Konoha and her past, and more. Comparing the original series, the character's backstories like Fubuki's or Kidou's is less relateable and make me hard to feel symphaty for them. So when i watch Galaxy series, this is one of my reason to keep watching it because i can feel their feels, and i want to be happy with them too when their problem solved by playing football in Inazuma Japan / Earth Eleven, or just talking to Tenma or Shindo for some advice. But i wan't to talk about Matatagi Hayato because i think he is me in real life here.
Matatagi Hayato--2 faces boy with strong mind. I can feel his desperate, loneliness, and his only way to keep through life everyday. It's freaking hard to make lot of faces, holding angriness, faking smile, sweet tone while cursing, just to pretend to be a good boy. I know you all can feel the same way as me and Matatagi Hayato do.
My problem and Matatagi Hayato's problem is different but we are in the same page. About friends, about how we trust them, about how we trust ourselves, about how we think our friends are, about how we need to do about it. That feels when we doesn't want to be there, that feels when we think our friends will like us someday, that feels when we still left behind, that feels when regreting to trust ourselves that they will like us to be a friend, that feels when we can't be who we are. 2 faces is a thing that hard to do. Being another person is a thing that stressful to do.
Matatagi Hayato's problem is in his environment, while mine is myself that become the problem. We have the same past problem, and we have the same way think to do all the sh*t.
The loneliness that Matatagi Hayato felt is not normal. He is lonely. It's just like my mind that keep saying that i'm not lonely and everything is normal when i wake up in the morning and sleep in the night everyday.
I know i need to fix myself to become the real good person. I wish my tiredness to struggling this will ended up. My point is, keep being a real good person. We don't know how their fight every single breathe to keep alive. When i write this, i'm not yet watch the next episode so i'm hoping for Matatagi Hayato's best.
And that is all of my confessions. I think i was too much feelings here ~-~ i will finish the Galaxy series first then continue watching the original. I miss Fubuki so much ;-;
Have a good night for you that kindly reading all of this. I love you ♡
Tumblr media
When i draw this, i imagining that i hold his hand (the pinkish hand one at the top right) while he keep staring the sky alone upon the cold shining white grass.
Feeling relax but still drowning in his struggle--
Matatagi Hayato's darkness.

199. Sonic the Hedgehog #131
Tumblr media
Deep breaths, guys. I know what the cover page says. I know. We'll get to that. Just hang in there. I think you might like what I have in store.
Home (Part 2 of 4): The Gathering
Writer: Karl Bollers Pencils: Ron Lim Colors: Jason Jensen
So not much actually happens in this installment of Home other than the various characters talking to each other about and preparing for the upcoming battle. Since Sonic has been gone, a new Freedom Fighter Special has been constructed that can cut travel time dramatically around the globe. A journey that in the Tornado or on foot (in Sonic's case) would have taken up to two hours can be completed in a mere half hour now, thanks to Rotor's engineering prowess. And thus, Sonic and Tails head out to Old Megaopolis to stop Eggman's twin nukes from launching, along with an… interesting backup team, to say the least.
Tumblr media
Man, remember Fiona? It's been ages since we've seen her! It appears that while Sonic was in space, she joined up with the crew in Knothole and has been helping them fight Eggman. That's definitely a better life for her than to be running with the likes of Nic the Weasel, eh? Meanwhile, Knuckles, Julie-Su, Amy Rose, and the other two (active) members of the Chaotix head to Fort Acorn, where General D'Coolette is giving a speech to the soldiers under his command. We've never even heard of this fort before, but according to the general it's been here for ten years, keeping a forward watch on Robotropolis, and this watch has been maintained even after Robotropolis' destruction in case of just such a situation as the current one. With their reinforcements from Knothole, the crew at the fort prepare to defend the city against a massive swatbot assault to lower the forcefield keeping the radiation in check. Back in Knothole, extra measures are being taken to make absolutely sure that even if the worst happens, the citizenry will be safe.
Tumblr media
Station Square, for their part, has sent a squad of GUN commandos to help in the battle at Old Megaopolis. The commander of the military is baffled by this decision, wanting to send in their full fighting force, but the president instead opts to trust his allies from Knothole - though just for insurance, he's sent one of his own operatives along for the ride…
Tumblr media
Now that's what I like to see! It's about time Rouge got herself some proper screentime. As all this is going on, Eggman waits aboard a docked battleship in the harbor of Old Megaopolis with his assistant M, and orders A.D.A.M. to begin the missile countdown. However, almost immediately, the sound of a biplane puts them on high alert, and Eggman is shocked to see Sonic and Tails bearing down on his location, not having expected them to be able to get here nearly so fast. See, Eggman, this is why you resist the siren call of your ego and keep your damn plans to yourself. All you did was give your enemies ample warning to prepare to foil your evil plot, you idiot!
Mobius 25 Years Later: Prologue
Writer: Ken Penders Pencils: Steven Butler Colors: Jensen
Okay, guys. This is it. We've reached the most Penders thing of all time. This is something that has been hinted at here and there from all the way back in the Sonic In Your Face special to now, and we're finally seeing the culmination of all of that buildup. All the intricate worldbuilding, all the complex character arcs, all the intrigue and political spider webs and back to back wars and everything that the world of Mobius has been through up until now - there's so much to explore, so many directions it could have gone. We're about to see what this world might look like twenty-five years into the future, and with so much rich history to draw from, what might you imagine this story might look like? What genre might it fall into? Well wonder no longer!
It's a drama. It's a teen drama.
There's a reason that Mobius 25 Years Later is widely considered to be one of the worst parts of the comic. The tone of it is just so far off anything else we've experienced so far that it clashes horribly with what we've come to expect. It's not some masterful subversion of expectations or something - in a lot of ways I consider it to be a genuine insult to the rest of the preboot's material up to this point. It's painfully and immediately clear that this is a story Penders has wanted to tell for a while, but, not being able to fit his "middle-aged adults adulting everywhere and being so adult-like while ignoring the feelings and difficulties that ordinary teenagers face" plot anywhere into the rest of the comic, he's opted to just fire the world a couple decades into the future, pair all the major characters off into weird and oftentimes arbitrary heterosexual marriages, give everyone 2.5 children and a titanium picket fence, and then throw in some allusions to the old "war against Doc 'Botnik" here and there lest we forget, entirely understandably at this point, that we're reading a Sonic the Hedgehog comic here. This thing goes on for nineteen whole issues, taking up each subsequent issue's backup story, and ultimately has no real impact on the actual story involving the characters we already know and love. However, this is technically canon, or at least a version of canon (as when you play with alternate realities and multiple timelines, futures are bound to get mixed up here and there), so we're gonna be covering it - all of it. I wouldn't be tempted to skip it anyway, as by delving into each chapter in this trainwreck, we can actually explore why this whole thing fails so hard, and why it's therefore so loathed in the fandom. Plus, I do recognize that some people actually do enjoy this arc for various reasons (one of my close friends does, and has a whole AU of her own relating to it in fact), so I do plan to at least try to be fair in my review - but I really can't hide that I find this whole affair boring as hell, often downright offensive, and ultimately completely out of place. With all that in mind, let's dive in!
We begin with a full page of exposition delivered to us via high school lecture, because everyone knows the best way to establish your worldbuilding is by infodumping it directly into your audience's eyeballs. Apparently, over the last twenty years, Angel Island has been heavily developed into its own independent republic, with a new city, Portal, acting as the center of trade between the island and the mainland below. We're once again introduced to Lara-Su, who, instead of being the badass time-traveling young adult whom we followed before, is now an ordinary teenager taking ordinary high school classes among a bunch of ordinary high school echidnas.
Tumblr media
One of the biggest failings of this story is that Penders writes every teenage character how he thinks teenagers act, from his point of view as a middle-aged adult. This becomes abundantly clear the longer you read, as every teenager is a hormone-fueled, authority-defying, entitled, whiny, fickle child who just doesn't understand how the real world works, while every adult is a wise, experienced, and highly logical individual who always knows more than their younger fellows and refuses to pay attention to the whims of mere children. Like, I'm not even exaggerating here - I'm going to be pointing out every instance of this kind of behavior over the entire rest of this arc, and you can't stop me, so nyah nyah. Penders shows so little respect for the mere concept of teenagers, which is a terrible attitude to have not just in general, but especially if you're one of the head writers for an entire series about teenagers saving the goddamn world! Anyway, case in point: the teacher, instead of admonishing Rutan for being a bully, merely snaps at Lara-Su for not acting enough like a "young lady" and tells her to stay after class. Ugh.
Later that day, Rotor arrives on Angel Island as a liaison for the royal ruling couple, Queen Sally and King Sonic, because yes, Sonic literally becomes king in this timeline. He catches a ride from Harry - hey, good to see our favorite dingo still doing well for himself at least - and meets with Espio, who is now apparently Knuckles' secretary or something. At least, that's all I can assume from this weird-ass conversation.
Tumblr media
As a matter of fact, yes, Sonic and Sally are bringing their two children, Sonia and Manik, to the family dinner! How very mid-70s domestic family unit of them! Espio informs Knuckles of this over a television screen as the latter broods around in some kind of high-tech facility. Unlike what we've seen of Espio, the years have dramatically changed Knuckles' appearance - his right eye is missing, replaced with a mechanical one, and he sports the cowboy hat that Hawking gave him in the past (you know, the one we never saw again after he received it). While I actually quite like the idea of a main character in the comic losing something as important as an eye, I feel like there's a huge missed opportunity here - instead of just thrusting us into an alternate future where everything is fine but one character is inexplicably missing an eye, how about actually showing us the story of how that eye was lost? Show us a Knuckles who's learning to cope with the loss of an important body part, and having to adjust to his mechanical prosthetic! Go into his feelings about the subject, as someone who has so long been opposed to a faction that thrives on mechanical prosthetics, instead of just skipping over what has the potential to be the most interesting part of this story! Ugh, sorry, there's just nothing that gets to me more than a missed opportunity like this. Knuckles and Espio exchange some tortured small-talk about their kids for a little while, with the only interesting part of the conversation being their discussion of Rotor's arrival and how he's likely here to see someone named Cobar, with whom he apparently has a history. More on that later. Knuckles excuses himself from the conversation, as he has to be home in time for his daughter's "Unveiling" tonight, and as the call ends we zoom out to see that apparently nowadays, the Master Emerald is hooked up to all sorts of technology in this facility, presumably maintaining everything automatically. However, this story isn't done throwing weird curveballs at us yet - it's time to see what our former villains are up to in this future!
Tumblr media
There is so much to unpack here. Dimitri, feared overlord of the Dark Legion, is now an amiable cyborg-head-in-a-bubble. Lien-Da, the treacherous second-in-command who regularly spoke of betraying Dimitri and taking the Legion in her own darker direction, is now apparently a single mom who's embraced the domestic life, taking care of her rowdy teenage son while, predictably, complaining about the behavior of kids these days. And weirdest of all, apparently everyone is just fine with these literal former terrorists living in their midst and doing ordinary mom and grandpa things, with Lien-Da even apparently amenable to the idea of trying to make up with Julie-Su because "they're family," despite her history of, you know, erasing Julie-Su's memory multiple times and killing her biological parents as revenge for her birth. I mean, is this what Penders thinks adulthood is? Is he even entirely sane? Does he know the definition of terrorism?
Any-goddamn-way, Knuckles arrives home to his eerily sterile-looking steel-plated mansion that looks more like the lobby of a pharmaceutical laboratory than a place where people live, and greets his loving housewife Julie-Su, who's gained a cute giant ponytail but lost absolutely everything else that made her unique, including her own cybernetic parts and just her personality in general. She informs Knuckles that Lara-Su has locked herself in the bathroom and is having herself a mighty tantrum, refusing to come out to get ready for her Unveiling ceremony, which is apparently the equivalent of a Quinceañera for echidna girls. Knuckles, instead of doing something reasonable like asking her why she's upset, starts aggressively demanding that she come out of her room this instant, while Lara-Su repeatedly yells about how she doesn't wanna. Ugh, teenagers, amiright?
Tumblr media
Seriously, I just can't get over how little respect Penders has for teenagers in his writing. Like, yes, I acknowledge that teenagers aren't always the most logical of beings, but they're also not goddamn three-year-olds either. They're old enough to articulate their desires and express their unique opinions, and often do so in very mature ways, especially if they're raised well and treated with the same respect you'd afford any adult. I should know, I was one myself. I would have assumed Penders was one as well at some point, but perhaps he just popped into the world one day as a fully-formed 43-year-old, full of disdain for those younger than himself. It would certainly explain everything we're seeing here.
Anyway, it turns out that the reason Lara-Su is upset is because Knuckles refuses to train her to be a Guardian, and so she whines and yells about it from behind the door like a petulant child as Knuckles continually refuses to actually give her a solid reason why he won't let her be one. When Julie-Su basically forces him to calm the hell down and explain himself, he reluctantly explains that since all the duties of a Guardian have by now been taken over by other functions of their society, he feels there's no longer any need for one, himself included. This is apparently enough to make Lara-Su immediately happy enough to burst out of the bathroom and grab her father's arm, suddenly totally excited to go to her Unveiling as long as Knuckles promises her the first dance. Ah, the fickle mind of a silly, silly teenager!
Kill me.

Hey everyone!!
Sam here and I’m still on travel. So.
Ginny’s Update
This wasnt a big reading week for me, but I still got a little bit done.
Finished reading
Ace of Shades by Amanda Foody:  one of the twists was a little obvious but I liked the world that was built and could see being really interested by an exploration of the powers people had.
Lost and Found by Carolyn Parkhurst: this book was a pretty quick and easy read. Its a satire about reality tv shows and with the kinds of characters you could expect to show up on a show like that. I liked the mother dsughter duo. Some of the conflicts felt cliche but for a reality show thats to be expected
Currently reading
Hillariously Ever After: still reading this. I find the irritating 20 year olds in small town america hard to get interested about.
On the Come Up by Angie Thomas: I’ve just started this so i dont have comments yet. But I like her writing style and Im excited to read this.
  Linz’s Updates
What Linz read:
Pretty As A Picture by Elizabeth Little: Thanks to ALA/Viking/the author for this ARC, coming out Feb. 25! A female film editor is hired to work on the closed set of a movie, complete with “gomaniacal movie director, an isolated island, and a decades-old murder.” The protagonist was pretty well-formed and I really liked the story, but man some shit talk was spoken about Delaware. I’m pretty sure the MC has Aspergers, and thought maybe a little education for readers could have been folded in.
What Linz is currently reading:
Sufficiently Advanced Magic by Andrew Rowe: I WILL NEVER FINISH THIS BORING ASS BOOK JFC.
Minda’s Update
What Minda is reading now:
The Sound of Stars by Alechia Dow – YA read that takes place on earth post-alien invasion. Just started but so far so good. Got ARC from NetGalley—book drops 2/25.
Sufficiently Advanced Magic by Andrew Rowe – It’s the book club book so we’ll all be reading it at one point or another. I have it on audio so I can listen while taking care of baby R after husband goes back to work.
What to Expect the First Year by Heidi Murkoff – Buddy reading (skimming) this with husband. Recommend the series for new parents and pregnant couples, but you definitely don’t need to read every portion.
What Minda finished:
The Queen of Nothing by Holly Black – Ahhh I loved it! The romance and weird family dynamics really get me here. Good ending to the trilogy. Sam’s review here.
Sam’s Update
HIIIIII. I have sorta returned. It’s tome topple, I’m excited. But I’m on this work trip and I’ve been here 5ever and cannot wait to be home.
What Sam Finished:
Angel Mage by Garth Nix: Good GOD this book was boring. Won’t be continuing.
What Sam is currently reading:
The Stars We Steal by Alexa Donne: Look man, I started this book a week ago and I’m only on page 75. I’ll probably be putting a hold on this to pick up my Tomes =)
Until next time, we main forever drunkenly yours,
Sam, Ginny, Linz, and Minda
Weekly Wrap-Up: Feb 4 – 9, 2020 Hey everyone!! Sam here and I'm still on travel. So. Ginny's Update This wasnt a big reading week for me, but I still got a little bit done.
