Hi HoB, have you had a look at the astrology for the US presidential election yet? Or is it too soon?
Tumblr media
I've looked at some of it. Technically, it gets down to looking at two charts and determining which one is more powerful during the election and immediately afterwards. Given we don't officially have nominees yet, no one can make an official determination. After all, we have more than 12 months until the election, and probably about 12 months from now until we have official nominees.
That said, we know that Trump is unquestionably going to be the Republican nominee. No other GOP candidate has come close to topping Trump in the polls. Trump's first federal trial is currently scheduled for May 2024, which means the outcome of that trial is unlikely to affect Trump clinching the Republican nomination. Even still, Trump is unlikely to win in November 2024.
But is Joe Biden going to be the Democratic nominee on the top of the ticket in 2024? I highly doubt it. Will Kamala Harris be on the Democratic ticket? I highly doubt that either. I may be on the left half of the political spectrum, but Kamala Harris is the weakest VP since Dan Quayle. (And I am old enough to remember Dan Quayle!)
I still suspect Kamala is going to get an easy out from this political mess and head to a different branch of government. She just needs an opening in the judicial branch to make that happen. The only question is if it will be an associate position or chief of the judicial branch. Chief Justice isn't a job opening that happens very often. Not even once a decade. If that position opens up, which I think is somewhat possible, then you know that Kamala will be gunning for that position just like Hunter Biden wants a sweetheart plea deal.
Speaking of Hunter Biden, I bet we continue to get more of his mess as this summer and early fall drag on. Which means Kevin McCarthy will probably be forced to make a choice on impeaching Joe Biden or not. And let's not forget there's a significant section of the House Republican caucus who hates McCarthy. They got taken for a ride just a few months ago on the debt ceiling bill, and I bet they haven't forgotten about it. So...will Kevin continue to be Speaker of the House from now to the end of the year? I'm not so sure of that. Are we going to end up having another vote where we go ten, fifteen, or more rounds to determine who is the Speaker? I won't be surprised if that does indeed happen again.
So, if we have a situation where Kamala has moved over to SCOTUS, then that means there is no Vice. And if we have a situation where there is no VPOTUS and no Speaker of the House, well, the line of presidential succession still exists. And so does the 25th amendment.
As to your question about the 2024 election, I think when it gets down to it, the man who is likely to be the winner of the 2024 election has not announced yet. However, as things begin to change this fall, I suspect the Big Kahuna will change his mind and announce because...well, we'll wait until then. But regardless, I suspect the 47th president will be finishing out the remainder of Biden's presidency as a caretaker president, as she is not someone who ever wanted to be POTUS.

From the February 13, 2024 article:
West Virginia Attorney General Patrick Morrisey (R) called on Vice President Harris to invoke the 25th Amendment against President Biden on Tuesday, claiming that the president is not physically able to perform the duties of the job.
Morrisey argued Biden’s mental health is a serious concern after a 388-page special counsel report was released last week describing the president as a “well-meaning, elderly man with a poor memory.” Biden has aggressively fought back against that characterization.
...
The 25th Amendment was passed by Congress in 1965 in order to clarify presidential succession following the assassination of former President Kennedy. It also included a section allowing the vice president and the Cabinet to remove a president from office if they are deemed physically incapable.

Former acting White House Chief of Staff Mick Mulvaney was seen by reporters leaving his interview Thursday with the House Select Committee investigating January 6, 2021.
Mulvaney resigned from his position as special envoy to Northern Ireland in the aftermath of the January 6 attack on the US Capitol. He previously served as former-President Donald Trump's acting chief of staff until March 2020, when the President replaced him with Mark Meadows.
As he left the interview Thursday evening, Mulvaney told reporters, "I haven't talked to anyone in the White House for a long time," when asked if he spoke with anyone in the White House between December 2020 and the Capitol attack.
Asked by CNN's John Berman on Friday about his appearance before the Committee, Mulvaney said he was questioned about tweets and texts he sent on January 6, his involvement in Trump's campaign and discussions he had around election day. He also criticized the Committee and its structure as "politically biased" but said they are getting "good and sound information" from Republicans whom they have spoken with.
"It was not a fight, it was a free-flowing discussion of information that I thought was helpful," Mulvaney said on "New Day," adding that his testimony lasted about two and a half hours.
He also said there were general questions about processes in the White House, including how visitors would see the President and noted "clearly they're trying to figure out" how lawyers Rudy Giuliani, Sidney Powell and others in Trump's inner circle got the access they received.
CBS News reported earlier on Mulvaney's appearance on Thursday.
Rep. Liz Cheney, who serves as the Committee's vice chair, told CNN over the weekend that the Committee would likely be speaking with more people associated with the former President.
The Wyoming Republican said the Committee had "many interviews scheduled that are coming up. We anticipate talking to additional members of the President's Cabinet. We anticipate talking to additional members of his campaign."
The Committee has also been engaging with former Secretary of State Mike Pompeo, and he could sit for a closed-door deposition with the panel as soon as this week, multiple sources familiar with the Committee's schedule tell CNN.
Pompeo's potential appearance comes as the Committee has shown an increased interest in former members of Trump's Cabinet.
Another source connected to the Committee's investigation previously told CNN they are particularly interested in conversations surrounding the 25th Amendment after the events of January 6.
In the immediate aftermath of the attack, a growing number of Republican leaders and Cabinet officials told CNN that they believed Trump should be removed from office before January 20.
Invoking the 25th Amendment would have required then-Vice President Mike Pence and a majority of the Cabinet to vote to remove Trump from office due to his inability to "discharge the powers and duties of his office" -- an unprecedented step.

The 25th Amendment is terrible at removing a dangerous or incompetent president.
Whenever the Vice President and a majority of either the principal officers of the executive departments or of such other body as Congress may by law provide, transmit to the President pro tempore of the Senate and the Speaker of the House of Representatives their written declaration that the President is unable to discharge the powers and duties of his office, the Vice President shall immediately assume the powers and duties of the office as Acting President.     Thereafter, when the President transmits to the President pro tempore of the Senate and the Speaker of the House of Representatives his written declaration that no inability exists, he shall resume the powers and duties of his office unless the Vice President and a majority of either the principal officers of the executive department or of such other body as Congress may by law provide, transmit within four days to the President pro tempore of the Senate and the Speaker of the House of Representatives their written declaration that the President is unable to discharge the powers and duties of his office. Thereupon Congress shall decide the issue, assembling within forty-eight hours for that purpose if not in session. If the Congress, within twenty-one days after receipt of the latter written declaration, or, if Congress is not in session, within twenty-one days after Congress is required to assemble, determines by two-thirds vote of both Houses that the President is unable to discharge the powers and duties of his office, the Vice President shall continue to discharge the same as Acting President; otherwise, the President shall resume the powers and duties of his office.
What needs to happen is:
The VP and half the cabinet agree
They tell congress
The president has time to appeal to congress
Congress holds a vote that needs to pass by 2/3 in both houses and then the President stays, but in diminished capacity.
[There is no clause for what happens after 1 month or reinstatement. Because obviously nobody actually bothered to munchkin this fucking amendment]
This is a far higher standard than impeachment which requires half the House of Representatives and none of the VP or principal officers, and ends up permanently removing the President. Non-permanent removal for incompetence should be much easier to achieve, especially if the Vice President is involved.
What should probably happen instead is:
The VP and either (half the Cabinet) or (the Speaker and the President Pro tem) or (Chief Justice and/or Supreme Court, in very rare situations where action is needed quickly and the other principals cannot be found) are enough to temporarily remove the president for up to a month.
After one month, a vote of half of each house of Congress is necessary to maintain the temporary removal.
If the VP, the temporary removing officers (Cabinet, speaker, CJ, etc), and half of Congress agree after one more month, the President is removed from office for the remainder of the term, albeit not disqualified.
[Similar procedures are required for removing the acting VP, or a President without a VP, but the Acting duties go to the Secretary of State, because continuity of government and separation of powers]
None of these rapid procedures can allow for executive power to pass to a member of the legislature.
There should be multiple routes to removal, because removal should be easy and redundant in the event of a crisis. If multiple actors are incapacitated, the government should not be paralyzed (what if the VP cannot be reached, the Speaker is injured, and the President is unconscious? The Secretary of State should be able to assume power by telling
Fundamentally, if the President has lost the confidence of two branches of government, including their self-selected VP, the President should not be in office.

But didn't Charles McNary die even earlier in 1944 than Wilkie?
You're right! For some reason I was confusing him with the 1944 GOP Vice Presidential nominee, John W. Bricker, who died in 1986 but McNary died in February 1944 -- about eight months before Willkie died. So if the Willkie/McNary ticket had been elected in 1940, neither of them would have survived their first term. That's the only time in American history that both nominees of a major party died during what would have been their term of service.
Even in the best of times, simultaneous vacancies in the Presidency and Vice President would obviously be a tumultuous situation, but World War II was raging in 1944 and any interruption, inconsistency, or indecisiveness by the Commander-in-Chief could be very dangerous. Since the 25th Amendment was still years away from being enacted, there was no mechanism in 1944 for replacing a Vice President, and the Presidential Succession Act of 1886 was in effect at the time. That means that the Speaker of the House and the President Pro Tempore of the U.S. Senate were not in the line of succession (as they are today), and the Presidential vacancy would have been filled by the Secretary of State, who would be "Acting President" for the remainder of the term that Willkie and McNary had been elected to serve. In the midst of some of the heaviest fighting by American troops during the biggest war in human history, the possibility of the President and Vice President dying in office and being replaced by an "Acting President" would have been a frightening prospect.

This is your final warning that major fuckery is about to ensue, and I'm not just talking about Prince William doing his usual, scared-to-leave-the-house routine.
Eclipse "season" is almost upon us. It officially begins 10th/11th March, depending upon where you are, and goes until 22nd/23rd April. However, the effects of this season aren't going to finish winding down until June.
This is going to be the biggest eclipse "season" since George Floyd died four years ago during the eclipse "season" of 2020. Hey, remember how you felt during that time? FLASHBACK!
Was the war in Gaza already infuriating you? Did you want a bigger war involving other countries in the Middle East? No? Too bad, you're getting one.
Will Mike Johnson make it past the six-month mark (25 April 2024) of his congressional speakership? And if so, for how long? Seven months? Can he have a longer speakership than Kevin McCarthy? Well...
Will it be associate j or chief j?
Do we get a Franz Ferdinand moment of the year with or without a metaphorical Gavrilo Princip?
Does everyone know who the lady is with the whitish-blond bob and glasses is yet? No? You will soon. Bothell ain't just a random seven-letter word.
Hey, remember back in 1968 when the Democratic Party held their convention in Chicago and it turned into a total clusterfuck? Remember there was a controversial war at the time? And that the incumbent president ended up not running for re-election due his controversial war stance? Gee, did you know that the DNC is holding their convention in Chicago this year? What are the odds!
Fun times ahead!
The Dragon will not disappoint in the drama category!

Is the liberal media plowing the road to prepare us for a possible/probable Biden resignation in 2023 due to “health issues”? It’s going to take a lot of heavy lifting to make anyone comfortable with this utter incompetency ascending to the Oval Office.
