AEW Full Gear 2022 - Review
Tumblr media
Saturday Night's Alright for Fighting, but also sleeping, and thus I opted to get one last good sleep before I have to get ready for returning to work...it didn't work so well XD
Nevertheless, now it's time to catch up with Full Gear. 10 matches on the main card filled with in-ring debuts, bitter rivalries and 7 titles on the line. Let's see how it went
Spoilers for the PPV
The Buy-In
Best Friends, Rocky Romero & Danhausen def The Factory (QT Marshall, Lee Johnson, Cole Karter, Nick Comoroto & Aaron Solo) [Pinfall by Danhausen on Comoroto via Big Boot] The babyfaces interestingly started without their 'Very Mysterious, Very Evil' partner but the tag synergy of Best Friends/Roppongi Vice held the early advantage over QT and his rookies. QT's experience did allow openings for the Factory to have brief moments of number advantages, including QT catching the Orange Punch with a Diamond Cutter, but when he attempted a steps piledriver Danhausen came out with the jar of teeth, outwrestling the Factory members up to Nicky C, who ate an Orange Punch, was fed the jar of teeth and then hit with the big boot for the 3. QT tried to escape but was hit with the spike by Danhausen. A nice pre-show opener to unveil Danhausen's Very Evil side, probably would've had QT take the pin if I were booking it but it was some nice fun. One does have to continually worry about the Factory, not only do they now have a size of at least 6 members (remember Anthony Ogogo is a part of them, Blake Li is a question mark now) but they lack firm direction, which can be a negative for the likes of Lee and Comoroto, they may need repackaging and downsizing.
Post-Match latest AEW recruit Konosuke Takeshita was interviewed by Renee, Beloved Cinnabon Man basically sad he's happy to be here, more a 'in case you missed it' kinda thing.
World Championship No.1 Contender Eliminator Semi-Final Ricky Starks def. Brian Cage (w/Prince Nana) [Pinfall via Roshambo] Ethan Page joined commentary to scout his opponents as Cage immediately went for the weakened Ricky. Page was very focused and intelligent on commentary, noting how he wants his opponents to wear each other out but he only cares about fighting Mox or Max. Naturally, the Machine used his monster strength to further damage Ricky's ribs, back and neck but it's Ricky's quickness and counter-wrestling that kept Cage on his toes. After kicking out of a Spear from Ricky but failing to beat him with a Discus Lariat, Cage went for an Elbow Drop but missed, Ricky tried the Roshambo but was overpowered into an F-5 position, but countered it into a Canadian Destroyer, a labored Roshambo finished Cage and books the desired outcome of Ricky vs Ethan - delayed however to be fought on Dynamite due to Ricky's legit injury last week. It was a good match, maybe could've gone a bit longer but given how there was a desired outcome they also didn't drag out Ricky fighting from underneath.
Fight Forever's trailer was aired after the match, followed by the promo package and an Eddie interview, Eddie was all jitters and butterflies about facing his hero, further selling his mindset on his personal dream match.
Eddie Kingston def Jun Akiyama [Pinfall via Uraken] The Buy-In Main Event started scrappy with both men trying to get the early advantage, the trade in chops and forearms get things further into the King's Road style. Akiyama got a lot of offense with a guillotine knee drop on the apron, a spike piledriver, a curb stomp and a running knee but Eddie hit back with an Avalanche Brainbuster, back and forth they went trading moves, Akiyama kicked out of the Uraken but Eddie kicked out of an exposed running knee, Eddie got the win with a Northern Lights Bomb and following up with a second Uraken to put the legend down. Very emotional, Eddie showed his respect to Akiyama who shook hands, when given the ring he embraced Ortiz and thanked the crowd, Akiyama, King's Road Style and all the past Japanese legends who aren't with us anymore, before telling the audience to 'buy the damn pay per view' in his classic tongue-in-cheek manner. It's a good match enhanced by Eddie's visible emotion and passion, they should've just let him run down the card - I mean he almost did - I probably preferred the Ishii match from a wrestling standpoint but frankly I'm just happy Eddie's happy.
The steel cage lowered to telegraph what the opener would be as Jim Ross joins commentary.
Main Card
Steel Cage Match 'Jungle Boy' Jack Perry def. Luchasaurus (w/Christian Cage) [Submission via Snare Trap] A battle between tag partners in the same arena they struck gold, Jungly Jim came in quietly and focused, shutting the cage door behind him as he faced the Dark Dino-Man. Jack's athleticism and Luchasaurus' power were both positions of advantage in the cage, but Jack was busted early by a lawn dart, Cage making sure to mock Perry from outside the cage. Jack was almost sent to the shadow realm after his rebound clothesline was shrugged off and he was thrown a fifth time into the cage wall, almost being caught in between. Christian however pulled a pickpocket by stealing the keys to the cage, unlocking the door just before Mike Posey got security to drag him out, Luchasaurus' attempts to save him were cut short by Jack, but he ate a slingshot into the cage's outer wall. Out came the table, and the chairs, JB got an advantage hitting a Destroyer for 1 and a Killswitch on the chair for 2, but Luchasaurus hit a Chokeslam on the chair for 2 also. After an Avalanche Sliced Bread, Luchasaurus did the sit up, but so did JB, Jack's refusal to stay down unleashed a babyface rally and a piledriver for 2. Luchasaurus though again hit back, a Tombstone and his swinging Tombstone facebuster only good for 2, he tried to powerslam JB through the table but Jack went into a sleeper, cracked his partner with a chair shot to keep him laid on the table and scaled the top of the cage for an elbow drop, after locking the snare trap, Luchasaurus tapped out. After climbing out the cage Jack embraced his mother and sister before leaving.
I have to say it, AEW Cage Matches > WWE Cage Matches. Compare this to Drew vs Kross and there's no contest, just shows how much more intensity can come by eliminating the 'escape cage finish' options. JB and Luchasaurus pulled off a wonderful 'irresistible force vs immovable object' battle as Jack's relentless babyface energy once again pulls out a banger from the underrated pillar. Take nothing away from the big man either, he was a great mountainous adversary for Jack, though I do think we lacked comeuppance for Christian, I did feel like him stealing the keys was gonna go somewhere more, but I'm sure the two will eventually collide in the future.
AEW Trios Championship Death Triangle (c) (w/Alex Abrahantes) def The Elite (w/Don Callis, Brandon Cutler & MT Nakazawa) [Pinfall on Omega by Fénix via Hammer-assisted Roll-up] Penta back in Joker mode (without his vest) while Fénix was en fuego, PAC was of course PAC. But everyone was awaiting the Elite's return, who came to Kansas' Carry On My Wayward Son to a big ovation. Callis joined commentary as PAC and Kenny began the fight, the Jersey fans erupting in 'Fuck him up' and 'Colt Cabana' chants. PAC and Kenny did roll back their earlier feud with PAC flipping out the Kotaro Crusher and spitting in the face of the Best Bout Machine, so the tag went to the Flipshow Nick vs Fénix and Power Brothers Matt vs Penta. I needn't tell you that Lucha Bros vs Young Bucks went exactly how you'd expect it to, the back and forth concluding with all of Death Triangle eating superkicks, the Elite pulled the playbook with Nick being given a cola? by the audience, but PAC intercepted a You Can't Escape to put the champions back in position. It became very clear that PAC would be central to the finish, with him continually antagonizing Kenny, but Nick got a slight in the match too hitting Punk's rising knee/bulldog combo. Matt murdered Fénix with a leaping apron DDT while Nick super hurricanrana'd Penta into the group of Elite and DT members, leaving PAC and Kenny in the ring, the Bucks recovered to attempt a Superkick Tombstone combo but DT came in and spiked them all with a triple Tombstone (every time someone hits a Tombstone Undertake gets a nickel). DT almost had it with a splash to Kenny, classic step-over destroyer to Matt, rolling cutter to Nick and then PAC hitting the Black Arrow/Brutalizer combo on Kenny but the submission was broken up.
The ring hammer came in though with PAC throwing it to Fénix while Penta had Bryce distracted, but once more Fénix refused, eating a V-Trigger for his troubles, Tiger Driver 98 was only good for 2. Trios BTE trigger broken up by PAC, who prepped to clock Kenny with the hammer but was blindsided by Nick's superkick. After hitting Fénix with a V-Trigger, Kenny was unable to see PAC hand his partner the hammer once more, who clocked Kenny while up in the OWA position to roll up Omega, retain the titles and spoil the Elite's return...and it was magnificent. Honestly the heat is gonna be fantastic for this because heel Lucha Bros are great too, even if Fénix feels dirty by it right now, I knew the hammer would come into play but I was thinking it'd be a DQ. I was surprised the House of Black did not show up though. The match unsurprisingly was great, and swerving the crowd will further both teams' direction.
TBS Championship Jade Cargill (c) (w/Kiera Hogan & Leila Grey) def Nyla Rose ('c') (w/Vickie Guerrero & Marina Shafir) [pinfall via Jaded] Nyla continues to endear herself to me by coming out in an Eddie Guererro-esque low rider, Vickie sporting the 'I'm Your Papi' shirt too. Lord though, Jade sporting the Cheetara from Thundercats gear, Jade does not miss when it comes to gear (I'm sorry but if you're not seeing this you cannot tell me to contain my thirst, I am not strong enough for this). Nyla went for the Baddies first though which allowed Jade to enact her aggression on Rose, including a pump kick over the barricade. Nyla hit Jade into the steps to regain the advantage, scouting much of Jade's trademark offense and hitting the Beast Knee. Jade hit back with a sit out powerbomb of her own for 2 and managed to counter Nyla's scrappy attempt to roll out of the Jaded, she ended up eating her own finisher for 2, but the true TBS Champ got the win thanks to avoiding Nyla's Swanton, allowing her to nail the Pump Kick and Jaded, 42 and 0.
I think that may've been Jade's best match so far, a proper physical challenge for the champion. Give nothing away from Nyla too, her physicality was a great match for Jade but her antics to help build this match has been great, Nyla being a hilarious tweener is her best position.
ROH World Championship Chris Jericho (c) def. Bryan Danielson, Claudio Castagnoli & Sammy Guevara [Pinfall on Castagnoli via Judas Effect] Ian Ribacconi joined commentary for ROH representation. Sammy's entrance gear was...a thing, like devil cape with SG on the straps makes sense but it also kinda looked like the Borat swimsuit, Jericho's bedazzled shirt was clean though. Naturally the match started with BCC vs JAS, Claudio facing Jericho and Bryan facing Sammy. The BCC managed to dispose of the JAS leaving both alone in the ring, a lingering handshake foretelling that the two were set to exchange blows. Jericho intercepted Bryan and Claudio's clinic but ate a flapjack and double crab, but Sammy hit a flying cutter on both men. Le Sex Gods then divided and conquered the BCC members, aiming for Danielson's injured eye like they did on Dynamite. A little tension though as Jericho had Sammy stand by as he pinned Danielson for 2, Danielson though rallied in Danielson fashion, raining kicks on Jericho and Guevara, but Sammy's athleticism evaded him enough to hit a Spanish Fly, which led to Jericho pouncing with a Lionsault. Claudio gutwrenched back into the match but ate a Codebreaker, which Sammy then broke up! Allegiances became damned as Guevara fought Jericho, hitting his own Codebreaker for 2, but he ended up in the Walls, Danielson tried to dropkick him but ended up in the walls too. Jericho was unrelenting in the hold against Claudio's big boots, but a suplex broke the hold and put Jericho in a Sharpshooter - which he had tapped to on Dynamite - wily, the Ocho crawled to pin Danielson in front of him, but ended up being locked in a LeBell Lock as well, saved by Sammy's superkicks. Sammy helped Jericho up and embraced him, but he maintained wrist control when the hug broke, landing a GTH and a Shooting Star Press for 2. Sammy Hammer and Anvil'd Danielson but it was no sold by the American Dragon, who had Claudio gorilla press Sammy out the ring into Jericho, only for Claudio to eat the Buisaku Knee for 2. Hammer and Anvil was exchanged between the two BCC members, exchanging nearfalls, as they tussled on the turnbuckle Sammy went double time with a cutter on Claudio and then a Super Spanish Fly on Danielson, but Danielson got him into a LeBell Lock, Jericho breaks the hold, Claudio then becomes the Tour de Force; uppercuts to Jericho against the barricades, he catches Danielson's knee and hits a Gotch Neutralizer outside the ring, Sammy hits the Shooting Star but his second dive is caught into a Pop-Up Uppercut for 2, Sammy uses the ropes to try and roll up Claudio for 2 but ends up in a Swing, Jericho then dives in with a Judas Effect on the swinging Sammy, and then another on Claudio to retain.
A great match again, hate Sammy for his personality but god did he wrestle out of his skin tonight. Claudio, Jericho and Danielson are once more fantastic, though I'm surprised we went for Jericho pinning Claudio again, especially without shenaniganry or a surprise Final Battle opponent showing themselves. Nevertheless, you rarely bet against the heel champion in the multi-man.
Saraya def Dr Britt Baker DMD [Pinfall via Ram-Paige x2] With her brother Zak Zodiac identified in the crowd, Saraya made an emotional return to the ring. Baker intentionally arrived alone, intent on making a point. Chants of 'welcome back' rung in the crowd as the two women locked up, though Saraya acted tender to her neck. Britt honed in on the neck with a neckbreaker to the outside, before mocking Zak who cheered his sister on. In control, Baker continued to act confidently, preparing the glove early, but her frustration with Saraya was palpable also, who kept firing back - a crossbody to the outside gave the former Anti-Diva the rally, Baker did hit the turnbuckle facebuster but also ate a Paige-Turner for 2, Baker hit an Air Raid Crash and a Curb Stomp for 2 also having failed to get the Lockjaw fully cinched. At the turnbuckle, Baker's Avalanche Air Raid Crash was countered into a Sunset Powerbomb and a Ram-Paige (I dunno what the Saraya-names are for this) for 2, but she escaped the Cloverleaf to ram Saraya into the turnbuckle pad and get the Lockjaw, both exchanged Crucifix Pins for 2 but Saraya came out on the advantage with a thrust kick and running knee. DMD hit a ripcord forearm and her own Paige-Turner and Curb Stomp for another 2, but her next Air Raid Crash attempt was reversed into a Knee Strike and two Ram-Paiges for the win. Afterwards Saraya embraced her brother before departing.
This was a good match, the crowd however hurt it. I dunno why but they seemed kinda gassed, maybe it was an energy dip due to the quality of the prior matches but the lack of energy did make it feel less impactful of a match, which is a shame because both women worked really well. Saraya had a bit of ring rust which is passable given how long it's been, her running knee perhaps needs a bit more theatrics to it because sometimes it looks a tad messy plus we need to know the non-WWE names of her finishers, but this is a starting point for Saraya, hopefully we can see her shake off the cobwebs and even go beyond the level she was before.
TNT Championship Samoa Joe def Wardlow (c) & Powerhouse Hobbs [Submission on Hobbs via Coquina Clutch] - NEW CHAMPION! Our Triple Beef Barbecue began with Wardlow releasing frustrations on Joe, which allowed Hobbs to take advantage. Hobbs held the early advantage being able to fend off Joe's attacks when interrupted, but Wardlow roared back with a moonsault on both his opponents, Hobbs was tendered by a Swanton by Wardlow and an Elbow Drop by Joe, the Samoan Submission Machine taking advantage next with his classic offense. Beef continued to slap outside of the ring with each men trading advantage, Wardlow kicked out of the Hobbs Spinebuster, so Wardlow started hitting the Powerbomb Symphony, Joe however snuck in, hitting Wardlow with the TNT title and getting a dazed Hobbs in the Coquina Clutch for the win.
It was as advertised, but also I have to say I enjoyed this the least so far. It was way too short for one but I also felt that Joe didn't need the win, you know who did need the win? Powerhouse Hobbs. Hobbs was coming back from losing to Ricky after all, giving him the TNT Championship would've helped elevate him while Joe and Wardlow fought over the ROH TV title, instead he took the fall and Joe's a double champion. Now I get it, we all like Joe, but you did pick the oldest dude in the match to hold 2 championships while the two bright and young talents get nothing, Hobbs hasn't touched gold and this was kinda the perfect time for it, so it was a let down.
Post-match Jericho praises Sammy's competitive spirit, only to be met by Orange Cassidy and Danhausen. Neither are his challenger though, on Wednesday the Ocho will be challenged by the Stone Pitbull, Jericho vs Ishii. Hager and his Hat also is gonna face OC for the All-Atlantic Title.
No DQ Sting & Darby Allin def. Jay Lethal & Jeff Jarrett (w/Sonjay Dutt & Satnam Singh) [Pinfall on Lethal by Allin via Coffin Drop] Ric Flair's last match without Ric Flair, Jarrett came out with some Sting-mask goons as well, which is often a bad strategy. A Body bag was left on the ramp to bait Lethal and the Sting Goons as Darby charged out with a skateboard to lay them out, Sting meanwhile appeared behind Jarrett in the ring. Lethal did return in time to divide the fights between Sting/Lethal and Darby/Jarrett around the crowd. Darby got out a ladder to coffin drop Jarrett but was caught like a baby by Satnam Singh before being dumped on the ramp. Singh caught Lethal before he was dumped out too, but Sting dived from the crowd to down the giant, erstwhile Jarrett used weaponry to punish Darby. Back in the ring it suddenly just turned into a 'with rules' tag match, since there are legal tags (I mean what's the ref gonna do?) Sting hit the hot tag to Stinger Splash both men and lock Jarrett in the Scorpion Deathlock, Sonjay tried to break the hold and failed, so Satnam shoved him aside and chokeslammed the Icon. Lethal and Darby fought next, Lethal catching a Coffin Drop and getting a Lethal Combination, Jarrett whipped out the guitar but stopped before hitting Lethal by mistake, allowing Darby to hit the flip stunner, Darby's Coffin Drop was met by the guitar shot, but Darby kipped up! Unleashing the Sting-rally that prompted Singh to come out, Sting tries a Scorpion Death Drop but cannot get the Drop part, so Darby lands the Coffin Drop on him too, smashing Jarrett with a suicide dive as Sting catches Lethal's Lethal Injection with a Scorpion Death Drop. Since Sting was either winded or not legal, Darby finished the match with a Coffin Drop.
If you want a chaotic fun tag match, you call Sting and Darby. It's a great Palate Cleanser I must admit, it might not always feel like it belongs but it's entertaining, and it does remove the TNT bad taste. Where it goes from here is a bit of a down because it doesn't really advance anything but the result is the right call, Satnam Singh also deserves credit for his role in the match.
AEW Interim Women's Championship Jamie Hayter def. Toni Storm (c) [pinfall via Hayterade] - NEW CHAMPION! I do really wish that we made Toni the official world champion, like it wouldn't have hurt Rosa to appear backstage and call Toni the de facto world champ, she's held it long enough. Regardless, Hayter appeared alone just as Baker did, highlighting the support the crowd had for her. The women started with their technical prowess, narrowly avoiding the other's finishers. Hayter ate the ring post while Toni hurt her hand chopping it, but the weakness activated Hayter's aggression, swinging Toni into barricades, turnbuckles and into the mat, exerting her physical dominance over her former friend. Toni struck back with a Thesz Press, Hip Attack and Crossbody for two, falling into her common strategy of using DDTs, a headbutt led to Toni falling on Hayter for 2 which prompted Rebel to come out. Seemingly unbeknownst to Hayter, Rebel cracked a rope-prone Toni with the belt, leading to an Ushigoroshi and a sliding Lariat for two, when Rebel protested though Hayter was disappointed by her inclusion, but watched on as Rebel was kicked out. Toni reversed the Hayterade (her ripcord lariat) to hit her own, she went for a hip attack but ended up out the ring, where Baker hit a curb stomp on the belt, Hayter hits the Storm Zero but it's another nearfall! Now it seems like Hayter was in on the plan, but her Hayterade misses again for a Half-and-Half and a Storm Zero for 2, she goes for the Texas Cloverleaf but decides to swipe at Baker on the apron, causing Hayter to hit back with her Backbreaker for 2. As Hayter attacks Toni in one corner, Baker attempts to remove the turnbuckle pad on the other, but collides with Hayter during the removal, Hayter however still throws Toni into the exposed turnbuckle dazing her enough to hit the Hayterade and get gold.
The crowd erupts for Hayter despite being a heel. Toni had a fantastic showing in demonstrating her toughness which made it a dramatic battle, however I do wish that Hayter won either clean or without knowing of Rebel and Baker's interference, Tony is right to put the belt on Hayter, striking on her popularity, but he seems to be delaying the inevitable face turn.
AEW World Tag Championships The Acclaimed (c) def Swerve in our Glory [Pinfall on Swerve by Bowens via Avalanche Falcon Arrow] Caster came out with an extended rap for the champions but they were noticeably without Daddy Ass, so sadly no Scissor Me Daddy Ass, the crowd at least kept the spirit alive. The focus once more was on Bowens' injury, this time his shoulder established on Wednesday, Lee took a nasty bump hitting his knee on the apron when clotheslined over but he was walking well, the champions focused on Swerve with a Scissor Me Timbers but the challengers continued to hone in on the injury, Swerve trying isolate Caster from Bowens. Bringing out a barricade, Swerve and Lee remained at odds over tactics, but it didn't get used for a while. Bowens got a tag after hitting a Poison Rana on Lee, but he couldn't lift the Limitless one. Bowens came in again to hit Swerve with a Facebuster/Cutter combo, but Swerve attacked the arm once more. The barricade came into play when Lee saved Swerve from being kicked into it, only to be crossbodied into it himself by Bowens. Swerve kicked out of an Arrival, catching Bowens with a Flatliner and a foursome of Swerve Kicks, when he set for the Swerve Stomp Bowens avoided it and hit the Arrival again, Bowens hit the Mic Drop but Lee broke up the pin.
Swerve avoided a team move because of the injured shoulder, allowing Lee to be tagged in and pounce both men, Fall From Glory on Bowens was only good for 2, Bowens is tagged in thanks to Caster reaching from a powerbomb position, but Lee just throws Bowens into him continually, Swerve attacks Caster and has the Pliers, which has Daddy Ass come out. In the chaos of the refs trying to eject him, Swerve passes Lee the pliers, but Lee throws it away, so Swerve slaps Lee! Incensed, Lee picks Bowens up, and leaves Swerve to fend for himself. Swerve escapes the roll up twice, including one that reverses the JML Driver, his roll up is stopped by the blind tag making him eat a dropkick, Swerve is finished though by an assisted Falcon Arrow.
It was a good match, maybe not the best of the trilogy but one that narratively sends Swerve and Lee to fight one another. You can't go too bonkers before the main event also, so it was a good match where the right people won.
Announced for Thanksgiving however was Elite vs DT again, announced now to be a Best of 7 Series! Which will go throughout the entire year including Holiday Bash and New Year's Smash.
AEW World Championship MJF def Jon Moxley (c) (w/William Regal) [Pinfall via Brass Knuckles shot] - NEW CHAMPION! I'm a little confused because my stream had no entrances, maybe something was running too long? Things started ruggedly as Moxley ensured that this would be his kind of match, MJF however popped the crowd with antics - which only further aggrieved Mox, playing the heel. Mox was whipping out submissions befitting of the BCC with STF and a Cross Armbreaker, but MJF was pulling classic wrestling, Flair's strut, Atomic Drop, Rhodes jabs, back rake etc. Out came the table but Mox came out with the Cutter and the BCC Stomps. MJF jacked his knee hitting an apron Tombstone, which allowed Moxley to hit a Piledriver through the table. MJF beats the count out but lands into a Paradigm Shift for 2, Mox then wrenches the knee with a Figure Four, Max turns though so Mox uses the rope break. Heatseeker is only good for 2, his knee prevents a second so Mox uses the Chop Block and hones in on the injury, on the turnbuckle it's hammer and anvil and an Avalanche Paradigm Shift, but MJF is saved by a rope break. Mox trades blows willingly with Max, but when he tries the Lariat Max pulls the ref in the way. He brandishes the ring, which brings out Papa Regal, telling him to not, which he does. However, Mox locks in the Bulldog Choke, Max tries to pin Moxley but he simply releases and locks in again, a second Ref Bump appears as Max visibly taps from the choke, but Regal tells Mox the ref is still down. Astonishingly, Regal passes Max the Brass Knuckles! Smacking Moxley with it for 3.
It was the right winner, but I can't say I loved that match. It kinda trudged, and although it was possible for Regal to betray BCC for Max, I never liked the option. BCC are now without the leader, which seems more of a loss than Max just faking the whole Firm betrayal like I had anticipated was the case. It wasn't a bad ending like Revolution's fizzle was, but I do feel a little deflated.
As a result, this was a really good PPV, just edged out of being great. Full Gear stumbled from being an all timer by the curious booking choice of the TNT title match and the world title finish. For the most part the direction we are going is good and this is certainly worth the price of admission, but I feel like the personal weak points diminished the feeling I have. Regardless, huge praise has to go to so many people in this show, and Moxley can finally have his well-overdue holiday as we can finally begin Max's world title era.

I dunno if I’ll ever get around to coloring these honestly so I’m just gonna post them! A few months ago the first D&D party that I participated in was all killed rather abruptly, as the DM wanted the tie up loose ends before we switched to 5E (since we were playing in 2E). Kinda traumatizing if you ask me, but whatever Party Killer, you’re a meanie panini. (light-hearted) ;-;
Anyhoot these were a bunch of sketches I did that weekend of just some random memorable moments to commemorate our little family! Under the cut for explanations and things if you’re interested!
(from left to right, top to bottom)
1~ Damien, Xavior, and Darby doing their rogue thing, investigating the lair of an evil wizard dragon guy. Xavior’s just happy to be included in something so of course, photo op lmao. I love that this was literally a moment the DM described xD
2~ A funky drawing where I was playing around with my style and wanted to try to draw Damien’s wings! The sketch at the bottom isn’t related I just couldn’t crop it out and I’ll get to that one in a minute lol
3~ [Xavior being hit in the head with a pan flute, saying “Oh! My pan flute!”] That time we were sneaking into a place so some of us were invisible (except Xavior who couldn’t be invisible if he tried) and Xavior was looking for his pan flute for bard-y purposes. He had lent to Darby before so Darby, invisible, chucks the pan flute at him and it appears outta nowhere and bounces off Xavior’s face
4~ [Darby with his arms covered in blood, crying and saying “I’m sorry I killed your moose friend!”] When Darby started getting into alchemy is when he got... weird. So this is about five minutes after Larcato has cast a spell to befriend a moose he found drinking at a pond, and while Larcato is petting it and telling it how beautiful it is a deranged Darby sneaks behind the moose and slaughters it, desperate to obtain a moose heart for a potion. It was a rough time for everyone. Larcato wouldn’t speak to Darby, or anyone but Draco. Darby, covered in blood, felt extreme remorse and apologied profusely but to no avail. Damien awkwardly tried to comfort Darby who was now in tears in deep regret for his actions. Magic lost what was left of his faith in humanity. Fun times!
5~ [Larcato saying “I’ve got a spell for that!”] Larcato’s player was always saying “I’ve got a spell for that” and flipping through the book for fifteen minutes before they took their turn so it was too iconic not to draw
6~ [Darby holding a tiny Damien and saying “Oh no! Magic!!”] Darby ate some magical cake and grew twenty feet tall (just kidding, it was a potion he made) to help with a big battle. But unfortunately, his enormity and the calamity of the battle caused an avalanche, and Darby tried to quickly scoop up the party members still on the ground - he was able to hold tight to Damien but as the avalanche hit he dropped Magic into the oncoming cascade of snow.
7~ [Magic, buried up to his neck in snow, saying “Well. Fuck.”] Being swept up in the avalanche, Magic assumes this is the end for him. He’s depressed so he welcomes death, but death stands him up. Again.

Wishlist. POST ADVENT CHILDREN IDEA.
Tumblr media
Tired of living a life behind a counter and waiting for a mess to clean Tifa slowly comes up with an idea in a ShinRa-free world for individuals who can not find work in the new world (those who only know battle with some other handyman work ethic they weren't able to use before) called 'Jaegers'.
Its a contract-less freelance type of mercenary job that requires the dispatching / hiring of certain individuals who would fit the criteria of an individual's issue. (Ex; monster extermination while repairing a roof. Finding a missing kitten while taking out the large fiend holding it hostage and picking up some eggs at the grocery store etc. They are paid for ALL of it.)
The mercs assigned to the client earn the cash and are to split it down the middle between them. They are to go in groups and watch each other's back. This also gives them the freedom to do their own base of operations within their group. They can easily create a branch and begin hiring underlings of their own while paying their employees however they see fit. (Tifa is strict about being fair as well. So its not uncommon to have the big boss lady appear at other bases)
The only thing Tifa strictly expresses is that, if any of her jaegers commit a felony, or turn on their client, that is a self-motivated crime and the company will not be responsible. Only the person or persons who committed the act is getting the boot. But that's the unfortunate risk when hiring a jaeger.
Anyone can hire them. And yes, that includes ShinRa. Even if the reason goes against whatever they stand for. However. Jaegers are not bound by a contract. They are bound by their pay. And once that paycheck is given to them, they are not your ally anymore. If they choose to retaliate, they will retaliate.
Anyone can apply. And yes, that includes Turks and other ShinRa operatives if they want a little more cash on the side. There are no prejudices. Just pay. People need to make a living somehow, and people need help adjusting to the new way of life.
Tifa's branch (The Red Constellation) is the main branch of jaegers. Jessie, Wedge, and Biggs have enlisted, (using ff7r as base so they're still alive) and are now operating under Tifa's command to provide extensive training to newbies, weapons distribution, and analyzing their manpower to bring about better devices to aid them on their excursions.
The jaegers aren't to be taken lightly, however. Some of the employees are ex-SOLDIER, hardened criminals wanting to right their wrongs, missing turks who need to make a living within the new world (no one is aware because they're still secretive xD) and so on. They have a reputation for being stronger than ShinRa's SOLDIER due to their past experiences, and are more than willing to share what kind of knowledge they have in battle / tech / whatever they assume can be useful to their fellow jaeger.(Save for some few sourfaced losers that do try to snake their way in jaeger territory to get their hands on weapons and what have you just to wreck havoc. Ofc they're intercepted almost immediately because of Jessie's technology. The weapons lock up if the device detects its power isn't being used properly. The perks of having a technical genius such as Jessie!)
So. Here's what Tifa's little 'business' looks like.
The Red Constellation - MAIN BASE - BOSS LADY QUARTERS
-The boss. But really isn't the boss. Basically mom.
-Takes any client who will hire her group.
-Made up of her former AVALANCHE gang. Is sometimes hiring her own friends who need the extra gil.
-the most requested branch.
-They can fix most things, have connections,
Zephyr - Branch I
- Main focus is monster extermination. Specifically overpowered monsters.
- Group made of 2 ex-SOLDIERs (2nd class), 1 totally not a turk, and 3 former criminals
- They can easily repair houses, heavy lifting, construction work, and fire extinguishing.
Chameleon - Branch II
-Masters of disguise. Main focus is infiltration and information seeking.
-Made up of 4 Turk dropouts, 1 former infantryman, and 3 former ShinRa security guards
-They can locate missing children / elderly people, gathering supplies and offering aid to the needy, offers free healthcare to those who request at a fraction of the cost.
Oroboros - Branch III
-The muscle of the group. Only used for exceptionally hard, or rather impossible battle feats.
-Made up of 4 wutai veterans, 6 of Hojo's former assistants, 2 SOLDIER dropouts (or deserters), 1 of Scarlet's personal assistants, Kunsel
-They are usually just there for the slaughter. Save for Kunsel. He just gives everyone the deets.
Blue Star - Branch IV
-The medics.
-Made up of several scientists, 3 doctors. 3 Nurses.
-Offer medical assistance for on-sight relief
-Offer rehab for mako junkies
-They can fight well enough but oroboros isn't that far away from them.
Again. ANYONE can hire these people. They are not tied to anything. Just your money. And in some instances, they are NOT cheap.
However, the branches have noticed their boss has been talking to President Rufus an awful lot... is she going to let him buy them out?
Bonus for fun: You’ll know you’re near a jeager when they yell “JA!” as an acknowledgement of an order given.

Please mind the Spoiler slap that might come your way guys...
Let’ talk about Rufus Shinra.
Yes, he has been exploited better than the OG, and yes, once you get the hint the assesment is trying to throw at you, it’s easier to whack his butt.
He still beats the crap out of you.
We have to realize that Rufus is a normal human being. He’s not a Turk either. Sure, he was a prodigy and has been trained by the military, and he might have trained with the Turks too during his “extended assignment oversea” (despite being him the boss, I bet Reno would still try to zap him in the crotch, if left unsupervised). Rude would gave him a sturdy run for his money (of course pun intended) and Tseng did probably manage to wipe the floor with his gorgeous platinum-blond ass at least once when they were younger. Rufus manages to stand his ground against Cloud, a final-stretch-game Cloud. Not an early-game Cloud. You have to run, dodge, parry and dive like hell, and when he hits you, it fluffing hurts. He’s the only human enemy in the Remake who actually manages to do some serious damage using a firearm.
He’s been designed to do that, you might say. Well, yeah, duh, he’s still the only one, so that’s awesome.
Moreover, he doesn’t actually look exhausted, nor particularly beaten up when the battle ends; he just smirks his way out. We couldn’t appreciate it in the OG, but heck yes we can now.
We might argue that’s all a façade, and I think that part of it could very well be true. Cloud did roughed him up after all. Plus, that’s his character, he would never show a speck of vulnerability (”nobody has ever see him bleed or cry” - can we seriously blame him for becoming an ice prince?).  And he’s not stupid; once he’s disarmed, he immediately opts for strategic retreat. He’s not a brainless goof, he recognized his huge disavantage: a true tactician indeed.
Him and Cloud's battle dialogue...is it just me, or did they sound like ex-boyfriends angrily snapping at each other?...
C: Think you got my number? [Cloud?]
R: Not at all. You’re making me sweat. Good thing I came prepared. [Rufus?]
C: That’s a new trick.
R: Like it? ‘Course you do.
[Did they actually meet in Before Crisis?!]
R: Let’s make it a night to remember.
Okay guys, seriously, tone it down a notch, would you? That’s too much gold for a single scene!
His outfit might not have us all agreeing, I can totally see why. That off-white contrast to Cloud’s pitch black tho...
Here’s the knot my brain is twisting itself over.
The question slammed my brain like a train, pretty much the same as Rufus’.
Tumblr media
I don’t know, you tell me how the heck are you seeing the Whispers...
Tseng going:
Tumblr media
Rufus looks at him like “Wait, what? You’re not seeing this shit? You kidding, right?” then proceeds to glare him into submission, either because he thinks Tseung might imply he’s not okay after the fight and he might be suffering some side-effects, or he’s mocking him.
[If it’s the last one, that would open another pit of thoughts, like: if he thinks Tseng is teasing him, that means that happened before. If that happened before, it means he’s not a utter cold-blooded bastard, and they interacted like functional(ish) human beings up to the point of joking. What is this? Solid character background? OG-wise, we know he’s not a saint, but we also know he’s not totally batshit cracker either. Because WRO and Avalanche. (Can’t wait for Barret’s reaction when that’ll happen. That’s gonna be spectacular XD)
Reno’s line ‘You’re sure you wanna do this by yourself, boss? (ENG)//That’s dangerous (JAP)’ could support this theory, even if we know he would talk back to Sephiroth himself.]
Tumblr media
Untill now it’s evident that he being able to see them is “Because Plot“
But my spider senses are tingling, feeling something lurking below.
He didn’t seem to be able to see them on the platform while Cloud’s smacking his way through. That could be arguable, ‘cause spotting dark stuff in a dark background is not that easy.
But after the Edge of Creation cutscene (and that’s another thing I’ll talk about later), he’s pretty well able to do that. And he’s the first character we see...
So what happened in between?
Well, there’s Wedge scene...but that’s the only thing we’re allowed to see.
Based on what’s happening in the game, you’d be able to see the Whispers because of Aerith/Sephiroth’s intervention or because the Whispers need you to see them.
That create some interesting choices, which might combine, ‘cause they’re not mutually exclusive:
1. Rufus finds/saves Wedge, or the Whispers are bringing Wedge to him (very unlikely, but you know, overthinking is so fun). He was minding his own businnes, and Wedge suddenly appears. If this happens, I don’t think he’s gonna kill him...Because Avalanche (and because if you resist Wedge’s puppy eyes you don’t have a heart, nor a soul). Yes, he’s ruthless, I know, but there are times during the story in which he doesn’t behave like a complete dickhead. Very few times. But maybe the Whispers need for Rufus and Wedge to meet, and maybe that’s what happened in the hall.
Also, my useless rambling neuron got stuck over a very stupid, very impossible, but very cute idea why Rufus wouldn’t kill him: what if Wedge and Rufus know each other? Barret and the other knows his face, but what about Wedge? Maybe somehow they casually met in Junon, or (god forsake it, my heart) even before in Midgar he saved him from whatsoever situation and he never mention it? Chances are never really zero in FFVII, but I’m well aware that this is far-fetched...like, a lot.
How cute would it be if Wedge woke up with Rufus crouched down there, skeptically looking at him.
‘What are you doing here?’
To which he would chirp “Hey Rufus, long time no see! How’re you doing? I thought you were still in Junon.”
‘I’m the boss here, I ask the questions. What are all these creepy things flying around.’
“Well, I don’t have that much of a clear idea...Also, you’re not my boss!“
‘That’s not helping. Also, technically, yes Wedge, I am.’
”Huh?”
‘I’m Rufus Shinra. (smug smirk)’
“I know that dummy (Rufus would scrunch up his face), what I don’t understand is how that would make you my boss. Blowing up one of your reactors using your explosive can’t make me pass as construction worker.”
‘I am not your boss because of Shinra. I am your boss because I’m the boss of the boss of your boss.’
“WAIT, WHAT?!”
*Whispers taking him away*
2. Sephiroth has a brief chat with him during the moment he’s left on his own (while we’re fighting his true self in the singularity). In the OG, Rufus always had this incontrollable drive to find Sephiroth, an inespicable and obsessive draw to hunt him down, which only Cloud match (and he’s the one guarding Jenova’s remants in Advent Children...). And no, it’s not because he killed his father...we know how idyllic that relationship was. That spark could have been started here.
3. A combination of the two. Because why not.
4. Something else within him helped the trigger.
Speaking about this, I discovered some interesting info. The Remake has retconned his age from 25 to 30, flopping back his birthday from 1982 to 1977. Five years shouldn’t make that much of a difference. We can agree, artistic licence.
Too bad 1977 is also the exact same year Jenova’s remnants have been discovered...As well as the very start of the machination for Project S and Project G.
Using Dirge of Cerberus as reference, 1982/1983 should approximatly be Sephiroth’s birthyear. Which leaves 5 years of preparation.
Is this a coincidence? Maybe. Or maybe the president let Hojo start to experiment on baby Rufus as he saw fit. Nobody would convince me that the president wouldn’t have done it, those two are just too fucked up. That could explain why he was so flipping good with a shotgun since he was 10, why he managed to face a SOLDIER without turning into minced meat (he didn’t show negative repercussions because he could have been resistant to mako poisoning, like Zack; plus he is the only human enemy with some resistance to Poison and Magic), why the president didn’t kill him when he sided with the Turk’s assassination attempt. That wasn’t paternal love; that was probably Hojo interceding to not have a succesfull test subject except Sephiroth eliminated, promising to have him brainwashed.
Like Cloud, despite Jenova’s cells, he wouldn’t be able to see the Whispers by his own. But Sephiroth, or Aerith, might have flipped the switch in some way. Or even Jenova’s or n#2′s bodies, to which we still have no idea what happened.
4.1. The annoyed/angry glare This could also be another reason for the angry/annoyed glare he shoots Tseng, like he’s saying “You know what I am” or “You know taking me down is not that easy”. The first one reminds me of Cloud’s line to Jessie...the look is pretty similar.
Another interpretation of this expression could be that he actually has, from time to time, some odd quirks or weird moments, residues of the mako treatment/cells' interaction. It is very likely that if that’s true, Tseng - and maybe even Rude and Reno - witnessed them.
That wouldn't surprise me: he’s sporting some serious dark circles under his eyes in this scene.
So, he could be also saying “What? Are we doing this again? You still think I’m frail and crazy? Do I have to beat that out of you like last time?”
5. He touched Jenova’s blood; it wouldn’t be that improbable, since it was smeared all over the floor. That might have done the trick by itself, or, if connected to point 4, he could have been drawn to it by the cells within him, which could have worked as catalyst.
6. Any combination of two or more of the previous points. It’s Nomura Testuya we’re talking about, they could all be true for what we know. He’s a goddamn psycho: it’s easier to build a house with a sand-pail and a plastic shovel than understand Kingdom Hearts' series plot .
Too many questions, but the revelation that Rufus can see the Whispers is very intriguing; the whispers needs him for something. Destiny needs him for something. That makes him an even more valuable character that he already was in the OG, and I’m glad they’re doing it.
Nobody seems to be left behind (in character development sense) this time.
We can only wait and hope.
Wish you all the best, Rufie (ノ◕ヮ◕)ノ*:・゚✧ ✧゚・: *

Squall: We bet to see how many candidates will drop out until the end of the Recruiting Course
Cloud: The winner get to sign-up to Captain Sephiroth Special Training Session
Lightning: And the loser?
Cloud: …
Squall: Get to “babysit” the newcomer for the first week.
Lightning: Is that why Cloud was so grumpy on my first week?
Oh well, I came up with this silly self indulgent StarFox AU, I mean, I played StarFox 64 a lot when I was a kid, it was kind of our family game. At the time I was never able to beat my father and brother’s score (the best score I got was third place), but I was the first and only one to get the Setor Z medal years later on 3DS remastered (because non of them played StarFox anymore lol). Anyways, I have a lot of fond memories of this game and after seeing all the newest render arts of the StarFox crew I got inspired to draw a Strifehart in StarFox uniform! And now I end up with a whole AU in my head with characters from Dissidia and Kingdom Hearts. (I’m no writer, why to a do this to myself? T^T)
I customized the uniform design to get as close as possible to their FF attire style, without losing the elements of StarFox uniform. Squall colors were the hardest to choose while I knew from the very beginning I wanted Cloud’s colors to resemble his uniform from Crisis Core (I may explain this choice later).
Now some AU Head Canon time! (My English is not that good and my Final Fantasy and StarFox knowledge are limited too, so please have patient with me xD)
[Arc 01] In this AU, SeeD is a Galactic Mercenary Organization based in Corneria. They work in small groups through the Lylat System. Aircrafts are boarded with 5~6 members (3~4 Arwing pilots, 1 captain and 1 engineer).
Sephiroth is one of the youngest captains among  SeeD, he command Shinra Airship, but he still like to go on field mission as a Arwing Pilot.
Squall and Cloud applied in the same year, at 15 yo. With both been assigned to the same Aircraft (The StarFox), they started working under the supervision of Barret Wallace a Senior Arwing Pilot, together with Laguna Loire as their captain and the engineer Cid Highwind.
The following year, when Barret was promoted to Captain and reassigned to start a crew on AVALANCHE Aircraft, StarFox chose Lightning Farron as the new pilot from the approved candidates list of that year. After growing some concerns about the safety this new StarFox team, Laguna requested to recruit a fourth pilot to help on missions, and that’s where we are.
I’ve think about 3 Arcs for this AU, but gosh, I so bad at writting things >_<

For the ask game, here comes an avalanche: 1-15, 30-32, 37, 43-45, And 48-50. I’m sorry but I just can’t resist against my curiosity 😅
Tumblr media
I’ll do my best!!!!
1. Favorite place to write. Believe it or not, in my room or someplace I can look out of a window. The atmosphere isn’t as smothering to me. 2. Favorite part of writing. Creating an entire world for others to enjoy along with my personal lore and such ^^ 3. Least favorite part of writing. Not having enough time and unwarranted critiques. I mean I don’t mind people offering a critique but do it in a respectful manner. And “2P!AMERICA’S NAME IS ALLEN/JASON NOT ALFRED DDDD<!!!!” is not a critique, it’s general bitching. 4. Do you have writing habits or rituals? Yeah…I don’t just write the whole thing through from beginning to end ^^ I start with some of the beginning, what I want to happen, then middle, the end and connect everything together like Frankenstein’s monster ^^ 5. Books or authors that influenced your style the most. Well…when I’m doing my original works, the Chrestomanci Series by Diana Wynne Jones. I love her world building for her works and used to take elements from it. 6. Favorite character you ever created. Hmmmmm well a few come to mind. For my HP Days, Regina Black, my OC, my original works two characters, a girl named Agatha and a woman named Marceline, for Hetalia, Kaya because having Alfred knocked down a few pegs is fun to write and Roderick’s Reader because she deserves to be happy, and for my One Piece fics, Reader-chan because she’s just this typical child and that’s her only duty but she’s being nurtured to be curious, ask questions and be creative, and the Maids because they’re little weirdos I swear 7. Favorite author. Diana Wynne Jones and Neil Gaiman n,n 8. Favorite trope to write. Comedy and General! 9. Least favorite trope to write. …hmmmm anything that’s too cliché. 10. Pick a writer to co-write a book with and tell us what you’d write about. 11. Describe your writing process from scratch to finish. 12. How do you deal with self-doubts? I just keep writing. If I stop, I will disappoint a lot of people and I don’t like seeing things unfinished. 13. How do you deal with writers block? Take a break and work on something else that I can get an idea from. 14. What’s the most research you ever put into a book? That would be my WWII Fanfics because there’s a LOT of history involved and it’s disrespectful to romanticize what happened. There’s nothing wrong with romance but don’t downplay how bad it was to be anyone living in Nazi!Germany, Soviet Russia, or Imperial Japan in WWII.   15. Where does your inspiration come from? Books, movies, daily life, and just letting my mind wander ^^ 30. Favorite line you’ve ever written. “I love f—DATING your grandma!” –Silvers Rayleigh XD 31. Hardest character to write. Uggggggh I’ve been trying to write a 2P!Poland fic but I can’t get into his head. 32. Easiest character to write. 2p!Alfred, I just have to be as shameless as possible 37. Most inspirational quote you’ve ever read or heard that’s still important to you. It’s better to be quiet and be thought of as a fool than opening your mouth and removing all doubt.
43. Are you an avid reader? Yes…but something happened to make me put reading on the back burner. I just need to get back to it.
44. Best piece of feedback you’ve ever gotten. Write, even if you think it’s bad.
45. Worst piece of feedback you’ve ever gotten. Paraphrasing: “I made you change it, that’s what I wanted, so deuces” 48. Favorite genre to write in. For my original works, I like writing fantasy ^^ But usually it’s reader-inserts n,n 49. What do you find the hardest to write in a story, the beginning, the middle or the end? It allll depends, sometimes the beginning is easy but the middle is hard, sometimes you have the middle and the end, but you need the beginning, it all depends. 50. Weirdest story idea you’ve ever had. …it involved the ghost of a 1950s business woman who dies ad possesses this little girl in order to redeem herself. Yeeeeeeah it was a weird shower.

Tagsy tags and long answers
Half a century ago, I was tagged by @eurovisin to do this. I LOVE these, but since I tend to write novel-long answers and sincee I do it half on my phone and half on my computer, it tends to take another half a century to get it done. But here we are now ! The questions answered and others asked ! :D
Rules:  1. Always repost the rules 2. Answer the questions given by the person who tagged you 3. Give 11 questions of your choice to the people you tag 4. Tag 11 people
 1. Which times (in your opinion) had the best clothes:
I'd say now! The availability of different fabrics for different occasions means that everyone can find something for them... Either now or the Antic time, that is xD simply attach a drape around you and allow it to hang. Practical, comfortable, and you don't get into "I don't know what to wear" situations. You can lose weight or gain weight and your clothes will still fit because they're basically drapes. 2. If you could choose a language that has the role of the worldwide communication (like English nowadays), which could it be?
THIS IS A BEAUTIFUL QUESTION! :D
I love that English has the role of the worldwide communication because it's a very rich language, which perfectly captures all the nuances of every meaning. It's not my mother tongue and I'm a hyper-polyglot; however, I still feel that it's the language that allows one to express themselves the best... Other than that, I'd choose Arabic. I don't even speak Arabic, but I've looked a bit into the structures of the language and... and it seems awesome. It also seems like one of those languages that can properly capture different nuances of meaning and suggest a very vivid picture of everything. Unfortunately, I plan to learn all the European languages before going further (simply because I'm more likely to use those, due to geographical proximity xD), I don't think that I'll learn Arabic for years to come :'(  3. Favourite places you've been to:
I enjoyed Tignes (French Alps) more than I thought I would! Mentioning it because I find that people there were incredibly kind and hospitable and the place itself was idyllic... and also, because the recent avalanche tragedy there really shook me :( Other than that, it's usually who I'm with which makes the place better for me. I went to Edinburgh when I was 16 and to Prague when I was 14, so both more than a decade ago, and both figure amongst my favourite places because I've been there with friends, as a school trip :3 4. Is there a celebrity people claim that you're similar to?
I've been told that I look like Zaho (a very real French singer) and Lara Croft (a very fictional video game character) it's pretty much due to my hair and skin colour and to my body shape; since I have on one hand a feminine figure (that chest-hips accent) and a pretty strong physical build, with large shoulders and a strong back... and a love for sweet stuff, which means that I actually look like Zaho/Lara Croft if they swapped their gym sessions for food parties xD just a little though, I intend to turn those little fluffs of fat into muscle soon enough :3 5. Any New Year resolutions?
I made a JAR of New Year resolutions. Or rather, "affirmations". I have a wonderful friend who believes that if you write your goals on a piece of paper in the present (ex. "I can speak Dutch" instead of "I'm gonna learn how to speak Dutch"), put it in a box, and give that box good vibes (I guess through positive reinforcement, prayer, or the such), those affirmations will come true one by one. So I took a jar and filled it with mine ^^ 6. Do you like mythologies? Have some favourites?
Yes, pretty much... I like legends or ancient tales too... I don't know if religious mythology counts, since it's often accepted as true as well, but yeah, that's my favourite... those stories related to the three biggest monotheistic religions (lots of which I consider either true or plausible, so I don't know if it counts as "mythology"). Also, when I dig through my memories, I realise that most of the mythologies I know are either born or popularised either on the European soil or pretty close... as in, there's a whole world of legends and myths and wonderful stories from all the other continents, but I haven't been exposed to those. Now once again, it's understandable, since geographically, what's closer to you is more likely to resonate with you... still, if you have some beautiful American or Asian or African or Australian mythologies I could look into, I welcome your ideas :) 7. Vanilla or chocolate?
Chocolate 8. Favourite names?
I like names with a diphtongue or otherwise two vowel sounds following each other x)) they look somehow eternal to me; you could imagine them in a time long ago or long after us, but they'd still fit the present too! Some frequent ones are Raphaël, Mordecaï, Faysal, Andrea, Chloé, etc. In literature, you have those often used in fantasy, be it Eowyn or names like Cersei, Shae and Tyrion 9. Was there something you were fixated on as a child?
Superheores, Barbies, and Moomintrolls J Oh, and bead jewelry ! 10. Do you believe in lucky charms?
Nah. I believe, however, that carrying something you love with you makes you feel better, so that can count as a "lucky charm", if you want, but I still believe that you carry your real lucky charm in your heart and in your heart alone 11. If you were to write a book, that you know would be widely read, what would be the topic?
Oh, the nature of humanity, most definitely! Whether it would be a science-fiction novel or something set in the present (or heck, in the past), I would write it in a way that it would question the fabric of society and the idea of what makes us truly human My eleven questions are: 1. What would you say is the best book you've ever read? 2. If there was one thing that you could improve about yourself, what would it be? 3. What are the top ten languages that you would want to speak? 4. Who are the most beautiful famous people to you right now? 5. What sort of food do you eat the most frequently? 6. What is your biggest victory?  7. Did you ever have have a weirdly specific wish that came true?  8. What's your favourite song to sing during karaoke nights? 9. What cartoon is the epitome of your childhood ? 10. If you were a fictional character, who would you be ? 11. What movie have you seen so many times that you can quote it ?
And I tag, and I tag... @slightlyintimidating @marysuestarkaryen @childrenoftheeuroverse @european-euphoria @thatguy-allan @yodelvision @namasteale @myslowianie @stufforestlikes @fandomfishie @uselesseurovisionfacts @esc-is-for-eurovision and everyone else tempted to do this x)))

NON-SPOILER REVIEW Overall: This was so much fun! I thoroughly enjoyed it! It reminded me a lot of Tenimyu where everything but the main topic (e.g. tennis, or in this case.... going to the west? Becoming gods? Becoming priests?) happens. There's so many ridiculous and funny moments in this hat's just so unrelated to the main plot. It was very funny, there were quite a bit of adlib or higawari (daily changes) as far as I could tell and it was a hella lot of fun! It really made me want to pick up the manga once I finished watching this! Rating: 8/10

SPOILER REVIEW
For once I just enjoyed the play rather than making lots of mental and critical notes through out it, so my review may be shorter than normal.
PLOT We follow Ukoku and Koumyou as they reminisce about their training days, they also somehow manage to go back into the past and be part of it so sometimes they have to run away and hide from their younger selves. Also, I'm not a Saiyuuki fan so I could be fuzzy here, the main plot between the two of them is that Koumyou is attempting to kill Ukoku so he can get the ultimate blessing or something (y'know that mark on Ukoku's head).
This is the summary of the story for the Wikia: At a training temple buried deep in the snowy mountains, eleven apprentice monks battle each other in order to become the next highest ranking monk, a Sanzo Priest. ---Among them, there was one genius.
THE STAGE
There was so much charm in this stage! So many parts of this was just so charming and so much fun!
☆ The opening scene is really good because it's where Ukoku and Koumyou are talking seriously with Jikaku about their mission and what must be done, but Jikaku is just ripping into Koumyou like there's no tomorrow. He was very funny!! There was one point where Jikaku asks 'and how old are you?' and Koumyou replies 'I'm 16/18' and the entire audience died in laughter. It continued for a good enough time. Then Jikaku kept getting Koumyou's name wrong too.
☆ Then there's the opening song where they wear cat masks and I really enjoyed that visual of them! I really should read the manga so I can understand what it all means.

☆ And so we follow them through the training and they have two trainings; the first one which is the day before their final test or at least one of their big training tests.
☆ We’re introduced to young boys who are in the middle of training and they have to fight while staying out of the water, or else you’ll be out. I really liked the projection mapping when they 'fell' to the lower part of the stage and the mapping showed the water splashes on the wall behind them. It was neat!
So the night before their big test, they get into a crap ton of ridiculous stuff. So let's break that down!
☆ First we have bath time! And the public bath owner won't let Houmei, Genkai and Toudai take a bath because Jyuuan is in there and he's clearly more important than them three xD When Jyuuan comes out, he has a slow dance and song about his bath time and how gorgeous his hair is but obviously Houmei just doesn't care and sneaks into the bath while Jyuuan is prancing about xD Then Jyuuan realises there's a knot in his hair and he has a hissy fit and runs off trying to fix it xD

☆ Also during the shower scene, I remember someone (I want to say Jyuuan but I don't think it was) falling on top of Houmei and it was the very comedic moment of a split second of silence before he gave the biggest high-pitched screen ever; it was absolutely hilarious.
☆ The next ridiculous thing to happen is about Shou-un; he acts all tough and like he hates everyone but then Ryuuzen comes on stage with a mic and is like 'he acts all tought but in fact......... he's really a nice person!' and then there's a song of how cute and nice Shou-un really is and this makes Shou-un really angry and embarrassed and he's like 'I'm not nice!! I'm a tough guy! I'm mean!!!' and then mid-way through the song, three of the cast come down (one of them being Gichou who's pretending to be a marathon runner, and the other two being supporters) from the back of the theatre room and down the stairs, pretending they're in a marathon and Gichou collapses in the mid-section of the audience seating area and he's like 'I can't go on anymore' but the audience start clapping and cheering for him to continue you, Ryuuzen is like an MC /Commentator at this point for the song and audience and this ridiculous skit. So Gichou finds the strength to get back up and makes his way to the main stage where he collapses again and the commentator is like 'can you continue on? For you family?! Your wife?! Your daughter?!' but he's down on the floor. So here, Shou-un breaks and gets down on the floor next to Gichou and starts supporting him and telling him to go on and Ryuuzen is like 'see he's nice!' and so Gichou finishes his marathon and the song about Shou-un being nice continues and finishes. I was dying of laughter this entire time. The ending of this scene was the best because Ryuuzen is like 'god guys, why you so loud! Some of us are trying to sleep!' and storms off and Houmei, Genkai and Toudai are just stood there in shock like '...but you were the one making all the noise!' xD it was very perfect timing and very funny and I enjoyed this so much!
☆ Then we had Ukoku and Koumyou randomly cross-dressing and working at a hostess club -- the audience went absolutely mental when they saw Koumyou/Mikami Shun in his dress becuase he damn he looks so gorgeous and so beautiful in it! And everyone died of laughter when Ukoku/Karahashi Mitsuru came out because he still had his stumble and he was bow-legged and he kept his deep voice and instead of tending to the customers, he was busy pouring him and drinking his own drinks xD And then it got even more hilarious by the amount of times he said 'omoshiroi na / isn't this interesting (in a very masculine way)' and the customers were so baffled by him but Koumyou was trying really hard to keep their cover safe while Ukoku just didn't give a shit xD and then it got even more ridiculous when Ukoku lifted his dress all the way up so we could see his skinny, hair legs and his black boxers -- and he did it twice and we were just dying of laughter and poor Koumyou was like 'get out! let's get out now!'  xD what the point was of this scene, I have no fucking idea xD I think it was just the boys imagining what it's like in a hostess club? But I swear to god that one of the 'girls' was YuuKun.... but if it's not, I need to find out who the fuck it was because DAMN they were damn pretty and had the nicest legs and arms!!
☆ And then we get to the boys' sleeping quarters where they're all clearly wide awake and none of them can or want to sleep so they start doing stupid things like throwing pillows at each other; especially between Shou-un and Jyuuan xD they also ended up singing, obviously.
☆ We get some slower moments around this point; we get a partially solo song from Genkai because he has special powers which allow him to see the future and he remembers how his parents died (they were slaughtered and killed which is sad) and then during this song we also have some of the other boys like Jyuuan singing the troubles they've been through. Also Genkai is bullied somewhat during his training his because he's not human like the rest of them.
So finally we get to the day of the test:
☆ Which started off very nicely because all the boys stripped off the top half of their costumes so we could see ALL their torso and arm muscles and of course they all looked great! But of course I was gooooooogly too much at YuuKun - in fact I didn't really watch anyone else when he was on stage because I AM BIAS!
☆ I really liked how in the fight scene, they soon learnt that fighting together makes them stronger and it was great seeing them go off into pairs.
☆ During this test scene, we cut back to Ukoku and Koumyou, and Ukoku finally tries and attempts to attack Koumyou and it was very beautifully done but of course Ukoku admits that's it's impossible because of how strong and talented Koumyou is in comparison.
☆ We get to the climax of the stage which is a GIANT SNOWMAN! Their final enemy! And Houmei quickly realises that they should ALL join together in order to defeat it, so they all join hands and combine their power to defeat it! I really loved this scene because many parts of the stage at this point 'collapsed' and 'fell down' so everything looked very messes and it fitted the whole 'there's avalanches everywhere because the snowman is raging and breaking everything'.
☆ BUT one thing in this scene confused me, probably just because I haven't read the manga but; when they joined forces, Genkai didn't join in. In fact, he just hopped onto Toudai's back and Toudai carried him for the entirety of that final battle scene; so is it that he doesn't have any powers similar to them and that's why he couldn't join in, but he's obviously an important nakama (comrade xD) so they wanted to protect him.

☆ I like how for their final attack, they are at the top most set of the stage. way way at the back and behind a railing, and they're all in a line and it was a great way to finish it. But the boys had such a short time to get from the bottom stage, up to the top stage so you could tell they're ran up and some of them were hard breathing -- most likely partially acting but I bet some of it was true haha

I did have one slightly negative thing to say but it doesn't seem that worthwhile to say.... but in case you wanted to know; I was a tad underwhelmed by Taiga in this. I don't think he was all that able to show off much n this one but that could just be his character? Because he’s great in EnStage, he’s great in YowaMushi, I’ve heard he’s great in Daiya no A, he was great in Danshi ha Tsurakunai yo? so maybe it was just this one. I think his character just wasn’t developed enough for this stage. I wanted to know more - about all of them actually.

And I think that is all!
