OC-OCTOBER/30 DAY MONSTERBOY CHALLENGE 2023 - DAY 27 - GRUESOME

not super gruesome, and he'd look way cooler if he looked like he did in my head, but... yeah. he's kinda based on like.. clotted blood/tissue, because after getting my wisdoom tooth pulled, i spit out some clotted blood and the way it moved around in the sink looked like some kinda animal... anyways, blood dragon!

meet Rino!

Rino/27/Gay

Rino (pronounced Ree-no, not rhyno) is a Blood Demi-Dragon! Instead of scales, he has semi-clotted blood (mixed with other fluids) covering his body. He's distantly related to Primal Ice and Water Dragons, though Blood Dragons are just a really rare subtype. He likes to swim, and actually mainly eats fish, though he's not opposed to other foods. He needs more iron, so he does hunt smaller marine mammals, too. At about 10'2"/310cm he's a pretty average height for a Demi-Dragon, but he's got a slimmer build and is lighter, since the blood is lighter than scales.

He's kinda feral, but he can talk just fine. Being a kinda odd guy just meant that he grew up even more secluded than other Dragons, but he's pretty open to other people

To hide his like... junk, I just drew some dripping blood cause he definitely is always naked lmao. His tail and wings are almost fully made of blood, as are his horns and hair, his limbs and back are just covered in it, and there's like regular bone and muscle structure underneath!

Day 5 - Washing their hair after a long day.

Eddie Munson x Fem!Reader

Warnings - None really, just a major amount of fluff :)

Word Count - 914

It had been a long day. Longer than you ever cared to admit, but alas, all good things must come to an end.

The party decided to have a picnic at the park to celebrate their big defeat over Eddie’s campaign. They had been working hard over the course of two months to try and beat out Eddie’s brutal monster selection. So when they won, they decided that picnic was the way to celebrate. They asked you to be their caterer, in which you said yes. So you packed up a huge lunch and headed out with the boys and Erica to enjoy the nice fall day.

You thought it was just going to be the party, Hellfire’s finest, if you will, but you caught on pretty quickly that Dustin had invited everyone.

You were originally worried that you hadn’t packed enough food but with a little reassurance from Eddie and Dustin's forward thinking, most guest brought some more food, so there was plenty to go around.

In a large circle of blankets on the grassy hills of Hawkins, Indiana, you and your closest friends sat and chatted about the small town and its residents. It was one of the most normal days you had all spent together. You know, outside of fighting interdimensional monsters and stuff like that.

By the time you got home night had fallen. The crickets chirped loudly and the night air had gone from warm to chilly.

“I’m gonna go take a shower.” Eddie announced to you as you headed to the kitchen to wash the many dishes you had used to carry food.

“Okay,” you smiled and continued to unload the Tupperware from one of the bags.

He cleared his throat from his spot. “I’m going to take a shower now.”

You just did a double take over your shoulder as you started washing the containers.

“O-kay,” You let out a breathy giggle at his strange antics.

“Jesus women, take a hint.” You felt the heat from his chest hit your back as his hand wrapped wound you to turn the faucet off, gently taking the plastic out of your soapy hands before dropping them to the bottom of the sink.

“Wha-“

“Come on,” Eddie whined as he began to pull you out of the kitchen and down the narrow hall.

“You can’t shower by yourself anymore?” Your voice playful.

“It’s not the matter that I can’t, it’s just that I don’t want to.” Eddie flicked the light on to the bathroom. “Why shower alone when I can shower with you?”

“Lack of privacy?”

“It saves money.” He winked down at you. “Less water means lower water bill and lower water bill means more money in our pockets. More money in our pockets makes us millionaires.” His quick wits won him a point this time.

“You make a fair point.”

He giggled happily as he turned around to turn the water on.

He turns back to face you with a sexy smirk on his lips. “Strip.”

You giggled at his deeper tone of voice. You gripped the hem of your shirt and pulled it over your head. You started on the buttons of your pants when you noticed Eddie just standing there gawking at you.

His cheeks warmed when his eye caught yours. You smiled to yourself before muttering ‘strip’ in a playfully sultry tone similar to his.

He eagerly pulled at all his clothes and jewelry. Within the matter of seconds, you were both ready to get under the stream of steamy water. The floor was littered with black clothes and heavy chains. So much so that you couldn’t even see the tile underneath.

He helped you in, the steam already thick and hazy. The water pelted your back in a soothing warmth. You sighed and rolled your head back, letting the water soak through your hair.

Eddie’s hands came to cup your cheeks, bringing your face level with his. You crack your eyes open staring up at him with a small smile on his face. He leaned in to give you a quick peck on your lips.

"Mmh, here," You switched spots with Eddie so that he was now under the soothing spring of hot water. He groaned as he tilted his head back in a similar fashion as you. His shoulders visibly relaxed and you could practically see his overworked muscles begin to soothe.

While his eyes were still close, you grabbed his shampoo bottle and squirted a dolip onto your hands.

"Ed's,"

His head lowered back down to your level, eyes landing on your soapy hands. "Oh yes,"

His eyes rolled back into his head dramatically as your fingertips scratched at his scalp. You had to stand on the tips of your toes to reach the crown of his head, but seeing him so relaxed made it worth it.

When you pulled your hands away, he whined. You giggled at his pout, kissing it away quickly. "We gotta wash it out."

"Fine."

Once all the suds were washed away, you lathered his hair in conditioner.

"My god, you have the hands of an angel."

You decided his turn was up when your fingertips started to grow sore. As soon as you declared his hair as washed, his hands were on your shoulders and switching spots with you. He peppered your face with small kisses to show his appreciation to you. He pulled back and looked at you with his signature smile.

"Your turn."

Day 100: Wednesday April 10, 2024 - "This was 33 Months"

The 33rd month was a blur - the pace of play is picking up as fast as his vocabulary. Always on the run, squealing, smiling, rascaling it up. He's asserting his independence this month and lets you know his opinion is showing he's got all of his alotted Actingham bullheadedness that he was destined for. And its entertaining. Watching boss baby govern the Finca, his little universe. We shared most all this month with my parents who got to check in on him and his growth on more time before the heat of summer. And somewhere in this month we all to seem to notice a little change. Suddenly here in the 33rd month, we had more of a little boy, a 3 year old, than we did the little toddling two year old. His school sees it too - ready to move him up. Sharp as can be, easily excited, in love with his life - so long as it involves Beyonce more than it does sunscreen. This month he sure loved getting up in the morning and "going to see grandma" and god bless here that she was there for it, most every day - I loved it almost as much as he did. Then in the evenings when it was time to wrap it up, he just loved sitting in Papas lap and reading Mighty Tug, Magical Yet, My Truck Is Stuck, Lets Build A Highway. And I was so happy they were here and creating these memories and these happy lovely times. So healthy for him and his little brain. So blessed to have such loving parents and a loving home for our boo-boo to find his own in. I assume each month from here for awhile will be a lot like this one - with noticeable sizable shifts as he comes into his body and his voice and his emotions. And I want to be there for it. - every day, with the same alacrity that my Mom greets him first thing the morning. I want to be there for it to enjoy it and see it, as he grows and stretches, and learns, and wires up...Stay present and fertile for the changes. This is the good stuff - like when he wakes you up at 4am because the muffins must be cooled down now, or when you wake up with a monster truck under your hip in bed, or a foot in your butt crack, or even when we have to tag team putting on the pajamas, this is the good stuff. This is what I am here for. Every day.

Now the whining............... I dont know - not there yet. Maybe Month 34 will teach me that hack.

1. What fic of yours would you recommend to someone who had never read any of your work? (In other words, what do you think is the best introduction to your fics?)

Oh boy, this is tough. I experiment with writing styles frequently, so idk if there's just one that could be a good introduction to them all. Still, I guess I'll go with this one: "alive again" (short oneshot of post-BotW Zelink being cute and silly).

26. Would you rather write a fic that had no dialogue or one that was only dialogue?

Lol since you sent this ask, I've written two entire fics without dialogue: "this one at last" (TotK Zelda's POV of waiting for LInk) and "you waited smiling for this" (HW Link's journey of self-destruction and then healing). I'm interested in trying out a dialogue-only fic, but I don't have any ideas yet. There has to be a reason why there's only dialogue, y'know? I don't want to just write it that way just because.

30. Have you ever written something that was out of your comfort zone? If so, what was it, and how did it affect your approach to writing fic thereafter?

Yes, and I'm so proud of it! I've never written whump or any kind of fight scene, and definitely have never mixed humor and angst before, so writing this fic was a challenge, but it totally worked! One commenter said that this fic felt like someone put Looney Tunes music over an action film, and the compliment hasn't left my head since. Without further ado, I present "holding out for a beedle" (BotW Link gets captured and tortured by Yiga but Beedle saves the day).

Maybe this fic affected my approach to writing by giving me confidence to explore more. Now that I know I can write a decent fight scene, I want to try to push myself to write something more in depth, like a spar between HW Zelink.

OC-OCTOBER/30 DAY MONSTERBOY CHALLENGE 2023 - DAY 7 - PLANT BOY

nghh, my anatomy lately is soooo off but I guess at least his colors turned out nice?? tried giving him actual leaf hair too lol. also i was experimenting with different clothes but ended up just giving him shorts cause... idk i think they look cute!!! his name is also temporary, lately, i've been bad... or rather worse at naming characters lmao

this is Ivy!

Ivy/23/Gay

Like most Dryads, Ivy's pretty mellow and sweet. The wood covering his limbs is actually somewhat malluable, so he can move them just fine, though they get stiffer in cold weather. He IS sluggish in winter anyways, so he prefers warm weather. He smells really good, like most Dryads, and usually is found lazing about in the Emperor's gardens 'cause they're spacious, comfortable, and there's always nice company. Ivy needs to drink a lot of water to not dehydrate (which, also, is normal for Dryads, especially the root-less ones) and likes to sunbathe to.. you know, photosynthesize. He does eat in addition ot that too though, since Dryad bodies are too complex to just.. live off of water and sun alone, especially since, as I said, there's no roots in his case) Just a really pleasant dude mostly, just a bit touchy-feely in some cases. But that's kind of normal for the Demon Realms, different cultures and all.

Once you get past its...peculiar ways of progression you’ll find a game that’s pretty bold in some areas, I mean how many NES games had a real time day and night cycle?

Unfortunately said game also tends to be...kinda mid

Castlevania II introduces some light RPG mechanics. Extremely light and also sloppily implemented

I feel like 30% of this game’s issues can be attributed to the way it handles currency: in this game hearts act as currency. You get them from defeated enemies and if you kill them at night you even get double the amount, nice!

Here’s issue number 1: you can only carry a maximum of about 250 hearts at once

This is stupid

Very stupid in fact

Because this means that as soon as you hit that number it’s time to spend all of your hearts and some stuff can be pretty expensive, meaning that you’ll have to probably grind every so often just to buy one thing at a time

The other issue is that upon getting a game over you lose all of your hearts. ALL of them

Now I MUST compliment the game for essentially giving you save states in 1987: no matter where you die you will always respawn only a few feet away from that spot even if it’s a gameover. For an open ended game like this it’s ideal and honestly really ahead of its time for the 80s, impressive!

But it’s just so stupid that the game empties your wallet with each gameover because all it really results in is you having to grind more

Another very stupid thing is that shops close at night and you have to wait until it’s morning. I get the logic, there are monsters outside an all, but this just adds to the whole feeling of artificial padding that the game has

And it’s not like this is the grindiest game ever nah. Technically Dawn of Sorrow can be grindier with its bullshit droprates, it’s why I used to resent that game. But at least in Dawn of Sorrow you can get some overpowered souls from grinding that can mop the floor with enemies and bosses, it feels like an extra that you can delve into if you want to. Here you need to grind for basic whip upgrades and stuff like laurels which are sometimes needed to go through poisoned marches. And in that game you don’t just loose all the progress of your grinding just by dying too much

The Mansions act kinda like dungeons from Zelda. These are very sloppily designed, they kind of act like more open ended versions of the first game’s stages, but they’re not nearly as interesting or varied when it comes to their obstacles, they’re often very cheap with enemy placement (I swear stairs are worse here), and after you prosess one of Dracula’s parts the game doesn’t warp you outside like Zelda does nah you gotta strut all the way back to the entrance can you spell padding?

We have very little in terms of bosses and what is there is...uhhh...

Oh look it’s Death! Boy he ain’t looking very hot now huh?

Oh but don’t worry! Should he somehow prove himself to be too much of a challenge to you...you can just straight up ignore him by walking in a straight line, he won’t even hit you!

In fact upon reentering the room he’ll respawn like an ordinary enemy! My man wasn’t really feeling it today at work wasn’t he?

Look I know it's not original but I am a total sucker for "Baby". When Ian called him Baby in S11 I was whining like a wee dog. Something we didn't hear in the tv show otherwise, let's see. Ok, so the premise is that Ian loves when Mickey calls him nicknames, especially related to him being ginger (because he knows how Mickey loves that too), but I imagine Mickey calling him with Spanish nicknames (Rojo, el Gingero, Bonito) and NOT liking them because he gets jealous of possible (and probably made up lol) ex Mexican lovers so Ian burst out a "YO! Tiny but mighty! SHUT UP!" and generally speaking other nicknames would be related on Mickey being shorter than him XD once Ian is drunk and calls Mickey "Pokemon" because of Pocket-Monster and Mickey pretends to be furious but he actually likes it u.u Ian's favorite nickname from Mickey is "Red", because it's classic, it's old-but-gold, or "Hot Stuff", or "RHCP" (Red Hot Chili Pepper) but he also loves all the sweet ones he gets when Mickey is drunk or high and goes all sweet like "Sugar Daddy" (because he is Ian's "Baby"), "Sweetie", even "Love". Ian likes the sweetness of them but he will always prefer the sarcastic ones because he knows Mickey says them with all the love charge he can anyway.

He was so young he didn't want to do them. He was like 11 or something but Terry forced him to ("No son of mine is a fucking pussy, you'll get them today"), from some Milkovich cousin (because who would ink such a young boy that was clearly forced into it otherwise?) and when he had to pick which words he picked "FUCK U-UP" with the promise that those very inked fists will fuck Terry's face up one day in the future. He was so used to see them he eventually forget about them, and he thought about covering them only when he is in his 30s, but Ian confesses that he loves them and couldn't imagine Mickey's hands without them, so he keeps them forever <3

For Mickey: every time Ian curses/uses fowl language. I mean not like the regular "Fuck!" for the small things, but when he gets really pissed off and just lets it go with a long sequence of profanities. It goes straight to Mickey's dick. For Ian: when Mickey is jealous -which doesn't happen often, because he knows Ian is hot so he is not jealous whenever someone looks at him, it would be unrealistic, but if someone really hits on Ian then he goes nuclear and starts say that Ian is his fucking husband, don't you dare touching him, I'll fuck you up, etc... and generally speaking, every time Mickey calls him "husband" especially in public :D

I don't see Ian&Mickey from the canon being Instagram users to be honest, while I totally, utterly, LOVE social media AUs (like yes please gimme!). Canonically, let's see, I would say that Ian open one IG account during lockdown out of boredom and though Mickey doesn't open one he tells Ian to make a joined account (still for Terry's sake) so Ian creates @mr-and-mr-gallavich and the Bio is like: Ian&Mickey Gallavich Husbands Love wins, a$$hole! And what starts like a fuck off to Terry actually will be filled with plenty of photos of Mickey playing with Franny during lockdown, of them with silly faces, then of them in their new flat, their new business, their new cats, their kids, etc etc <3

While I love the fanon dog "Bazooka", I am more of a huge fan of Mickey as cat-daddy. He is a cat-daddy in the majority of my fics too (Lizzo cat, I miss you!), and Mickey is the one who spoil them more, he is daddy. While Ian is the pet's punching ball :'D or better, scratcher/cat-tree ahahah! They obey to Mickey but they love the both of them u.u

Ok Hear me out, The Take a Hint scene from victorious x The Fruity Four (specifically Robin x Nancy)

So one night, Robin, Nancy, Steve and Eddie decide to go out and Nancy suggests they new karaoke bar across town. Its small, the foods kind of meh, the patrons that sing are terrible which means its hilarious to make fun of them but its busy so they don't check ID's.

Steve and Eddie are on the closing shift till 10pm, at Family Video and The Bowling alley. Meanwhile Robin's had the day off and Nancy finishes her apprenticeship at the local newspaper in the next town at 6pm. So Robin and Nancy get together to get ready and go there together. They arrive about 20 minutes before Steve and Eddie are supposed to get there.

The girls weave through the somewhat already growing crowd of people to the bar to get a couple of drinks, then find a table for them and the boys for the night.

Not even 10 minutes at their table flirting chatting, Nancy already trying to convince Robin to do a duet with her and Robin absolutely refusing. A couple of guys seemingly a bit tipsy saddled up to the two trying to chat to them, flirt with them (key word: trying). Instead their teasing about not singing ended up implying their too insecure to do it themselves so they're just here to judge others.

"Didn't you hear? they want to hear a little songy song action." Robin, using their words against them, directing her statement towards Nancy. Robin arching her eyebrows in a challenge.

"Okay, we'll sing you a song" Nancy with a tight smile says in the sweetest voice she can muster. The kind of voice she had to use with the asshats at Hawkins Post.

The girls slide out of their chairs and head toward the song book. The asshats take their seat laughing and whispering like they're in middle school. Robin slides her finger down the list till she lands on the one she wants. She slides in a quarter to the machine and presses 'T305'.

Nancy stops Robin just before she presses play. "hey can you start the song? you know take Victoria's part?'

"wha-why? -- wait is Nancy Wheeler nervous? THE Nancy Wheeler who 5 minutes ago was convincing me to do a duet with her? That same Nancy Wheeler whose faced interdimensional monsters with a sawed off shotgun? Is nervous... about karaoke?" Robin teases, more in bewildered curiosity than maliciously.

"yeah, I've never really sang outside of the shower"

"sure okay"

Robin can't really say much herself, although she's performed it was usually playing an instrument... with 30 other kids. Definitely not in a duet, safe to say her stomach was doing somersaults as she hit play on the machine.

The song starts, Robin picks up the mic, she blows a sarcastic kiss to the boys currently occupying their seats.

"Why I am always hit on by the boys I'll never like?" she starts.

Nancy picks up the mic too but takes a moment facing the wall to compose herself. She steals over as her part comes up, turning round channelling the badass that like Robin said 'faced interdimensional monsters with a sawed off shotgun'.

"Don't wanna be a priss, I'm just tryna be polite but it always seems to bite me in the-"

They sound good together, even harmonise on the chorus. They patrons loved them, a few whoops from them gave the singers enough confidence to really relax and have fun with the song. At some point they went in to the audience gradually making their way towards those guys again, who are currently enjoying the show.

The girls were mid song when Steve and Eddie finally arrived. At first the boys couldn't see over the sea of people at the bar and staring towards the stage in the far corner.

It was only when "you asked me what my sign is and i told you it was stop"

"Is that Nance?" Steve asks Eddie, knowing full well he probably didn't know the answer.

"and if I had a dime"

"Well that's Robin for sure" Eddie says in response. "oof they're good" he comments when he hears the harmony that follows.

They push their way to past the bar and towards the karaoke area where they find their powerhouse friends make their way over to a couple of guys at a corner table.

R: "what about no don't you get?"

N: "so go and tell your friends"

R+N: "I'm not really interested"

"oh I feel so bad for those suckers right now" Steve leans to shout into Eddie's ear.

"don't be! They probably deserve it" Eddie shouts back, still in awe of the harmonies. Robin taking the low note whilst Nancy goes for the full belt higher notes.

The guys from earlier that made the mistake of hitting on them gather their drinks to leave but Robin and Nancy stop them. Singing to them directly.

N: "one"

Nancy fully into the song now, glares up at the one that was interested in her, burning a whole in his forehead.

R: "take your hands of my"

Each line they take a step forward - encroaching on their space

N: "two"

R: " 'fore I punch you in the"

N: "Three"

R: "stop you staring at my"

N+R: "hey!"

With the asshats intimidated, humiliated and backed up against the bar, the girls, satisfied, march back up to the stage for the final verse of the song.

This last bit was no longer to teach those guys a lesson. it was purely for their enjoyment, they sang towards each other instead of the audience. silently communicating to go big for the finish.

As they finish they fall into a fit of laughter and the bar erupts. Steve and Eddie attempting to clap and holler the loudest.

Robin and Nancy take a bow and come down from the stage to head back toward their now vacated table, absolutely beaming with pride they just did that.

Steve and Eddie rush over to congratulate and freak out about how awesome they sang together.

Steve focusing on "holy crap you guys got up and sang in front of audience" knowing how big that is for both of them

Eddie focusing on "holy crap you guys sounded amazing together. I knew Buckley could sing but you too Wheeler, that was awesome!"

Steve gets the first round of drinks - Robin and Nancy discarding their half drunk ones from earlier for new ones. and then the rest of the night flew by...

Notes: Ignore the fact the technology for Karaoke machines where definitely not advanced enough to have wireless microphones and not at all like I described in the 80s. Because if this song exists 35 years before its released then they can have wireless microphones to sing Karaoke and teach some immature boys a lesson.
