I don’t think I need aspec representation so much as I need books without aspec characters to not have so much amatonormativity and to consider aspecs when making their stories. Rep is good and all but an allo romance where characters that aren’t interested in romance are supported by friends, no one treats it like a tragedy if you’re a virgin at 22, and the state of a couple’s relationship isn’t considered bad if they haven’t had sex in a while does more for me than having a handful of stories with asexuals separate from the allo stories or asexual stories that look a lot like the allo ones if you just remove a label. I want Allo stories without aphobia more than I want representation.
