A Little Sister Goes A Long Way.

Ramona Quimby (Joey King) is a grade-school student with a big imagination. So big, in fact, that she often clashes with her no-nonsense teacher Mrs. Meacham. When Ramona's upbeat dad Robert loses his job, the family - including her teenage sister, Beezus (Selena Gomez) and their practical-minded mother - must make major adjustments, like dad learning how to run the house. Ramona dreams up various plans to make money so that she can save their house, but because everybody in the family seems too preoccupied to help her with her own worries, she turns to the one person who always has time for her, Aunt Bea. But even Aunt Bea (Ginnifer Goodwin) is distracted these days because of her ex-boyfriend and next-door neighbour Hobart (Josh Duhamel).

Through all the ups and downs of childhood, Ramona and Beezus learn that anything's possible when you believe in yourself and rely on each other.

This adorable family film is available to watch on Disney Plus.

Joey King plays Ramona, a 9 year old little girl who is very mischievous but also extraordinary. Selena Gomez plays her older sister Beezus.

When Josh Duhamel slide out from under that car, I thought to myself "oooh this film just got a whole lot better!"

Ginnifer Goodwin stars as Aunt Bea and Josh Duhamel is Quimby family's handsome next door neighbour and Aunt Bea's ex-boyfriend who she's still in love with.

This movie is so wholesome. Little Ramona sets up a Lemonade Stand in the front yard to help her family when her dad loses his job! Awwwh cute!

If you love feel good family films with happy endings, this Disney film is worth watching.

Season II - A series of snippets to fill my Elucien heart.

365 Days

“Open it.”

Elain looked at him, her eyes widened in the most child-like manner as she whispered excitedly, “What is it?”

Lucien chuckled and poked her forehead gently. “The cherry to top this day.”

This day marked the first anniversary of their mating ceremony and Lucien had waited patiently for this moment.  A year had meant nothing to him — he’d been alive for so long that the years passed in a blur, but for Elain…he wanted to make this day as special as possible. 

He’d coordinated a whole day and evening with his father in the Day Court that involved all of Elain’s favorite things and it had gone perfectly. They were now back home, sitting on their shared bed and his heart was so full, Lucien was surprised it hadn’t burst from all the joy he felt. He’d certainly felt Elain’s elation as the day went on, almost choking on his own happiness. 

And finally…he had waited until they were back home to give his gift to her. 

“Wait! Let me get my gift too!” Elain said with a grin and excitedly darted out of the room. He watched her come back, bouncing in excitement, and crawl back on the bed, sitting across from him, crossing her legs. 

“You didn’t have to get me anything, dove.” he said, humbly accepting the square-shaped package. “You’re the greatest gift of my life.”

She gave him a playfully stern look and tapped his leg as a scolding, accepting her own square-shaped package from him. “You are my greatest gift. This is merely a drop in the ocean of gifts I want to give you. Besides, you’ve already made this day more than magical, I don’t need any more gifts.”

He smiled, shaking his head, and leaned over to kiss her lips. “You deserve the world and more, my love,” he said and gestured to his gift to her. “I’m excited for you to see it. Open yours first!”

Elain wiggled in anticipation and giggled then gently unwrapped it. When she finally opened it, she looked up at Lucien in surprise then flushed again in joy. “What’s this?”

Putting his gift to the side, Lucien gently took the scrapbook from her and held it so she could see the title clearly.

365 Days with my Flower

“Do you remember when we first started to get to know each other and how you would always shyly give me a flower each time?” Lucien began gently and Elain nodded, her eyes already starting to tear up. “Well…after that first time, I bought a flower press and started saving each one.”

“No, you didn’t.” she whispered, her lips trembling, reaching out to grip his free hand and Lucien chuckled, squeezing her hand.

“I did,” he said softly. “Each time you gave me a flower, I went home and wrote about what happened with you that day and how it made me feel.” 

“Lucien…”

The tips of Lucien’s ears had turned red but his smile widened. “It’s very…sappy but…every moment with you and getting to know you has made me a better person. I cherish each moment I spend with you and wanted to document them all, dove.”

Elain finally took the book from him with a sniffle, wiping at a stray tear that had slipped out. “Oh, Lucien.” she breathed, running a hand on the cover. “This is so beautiful.”

“I’ve lived for a long time,” he said quietly, as he looked at her. “But I’ve never felt more alive than I do when I’m with you. I needed you to know how much every moment we’ve shared matters to me.” 

Elain smiled at him and he smiled softly in return as she went back to examining the book then he blinked when she laughed.

 Lucien tilted his head, amused. “What’s so funny?”

Elain laughed again, wiping at her eyes then reached next to him to hand him his gift again. 

“I made you a book too.”

Lucien’s eyes widened then he started laughing as Elain giggled.

“Two peas in a pod, you and I, hm?”

“Great minds think alike.” she said with a grin and watched as Lucien’s hands gently touched the wrapping. 

Lucien looked up at her then. He looked at her as his expression softened and he swallowed. “I love you…so much.”

“I love you more than life itself.” she replied quietly, leaning over to squeeze his hand and smiled. “Open it.”

He smiled at her, one so full of love that Elain had to look away from him, her smile just as wide. 

Slowly, his hand trembling slightly as he opened the wrapping to find a similar book to his own.

365 Days of Falling in Love With You

Lucien looked up and found Elain smiling at him shyly. “Elain…”

“I know the beginning of us wasn’t very fair to you and we’ve worked through it all to be here today.” she began softly. “So, I wanted to document every moment of that first year…every moment of me falling in love with you and all the little things and flowers that reminded me of you.”

Elain leaned over and gripped his free hand again, squeezing. “I used to think I knew what love meant,” she started quietly. “But after everything we went through, everything that we did…love has a whole new meaning. Love is…too small of a word to describe what I feel for you.”

Gently, moving his gift off his lap, Lucien leaned forward and his hands reverently held her face. He whispered against her lips, “You are mine and I am yours.”

“You are mine and I will always be yours.” she whispered in return and the two sank into their kiss. A kiss like a breath of fresh air. A kiss that was always a benevolent claiming. A caress of comfort. A kiss that was home. 

A kiss they had built all their dreams on. 

Pulling away slightly, Elain squinted playfully. “How much am I going to cry reading this?”

“Probably a lot.” Lucien said with a chuckle. “How much am I going to cry reading my gift?”

“Probably a lot too.” she said with a laugh and Lucien gave a dramatic sigh.

“It barely took a year and now I’m too soft. You’ve made me too soft, little dove.”

Elain made a disapproving noise and kissed him. “You’ve always been a little softie, my love. It took me a lot less than you think.” she replied with a smile that sent Lucien’s pulse racing.

He chuckled and returned her kiss, peppering her lips, jaw, and neck with soft kisses until she melted into a giggling mess in his arms. “I have been at your mercy from the moment I met you.”

“You do look very handsome on your knees.” she said breathlessly and Lucien eyed her cheeky grin with a smile and shake of his head.

“If I may be so bold to say,” he whispered and Elain’s blush deepened with another one of her giggles. “So do you.”

“You’re so handsome, it makes me melt.” she whispered and leaned in to kiss each of his eyelids and his scar.

“And you’re so breathtaking, I fear I might cease to exist altogether.” he replied, cupping her face to kiss her nose softly. 

She gasped playfully and curled into his lap further, snuggling into him. “No, you can’t! I won’t be able to exist without you.”

“Then you have my word.” Lucien said with a chuckle and kissed her lips once more. “Happy anniversary, mate.”

“Happy anniversary, mate.” Elain replied and kissed him again. “Next year, I’m going to rock you out of this world with my planning.”

“I have no doubt you will.”

And so the two sat in each other’s arms that night, rediscovering all the moments that had turned their mating bond from a single thread to a beacon of life, joy washing over them in every moment shared together.
