Song #51
I've been waiting for the bus for 40 minutes now, but I'm hopeful it will arrive within 5 minutes. I've just been sitting and listening to music, but I'm always a bit paranoid that I will be too focused on the music and miss the arrival of the bus :( It has not happened so far! But still.
Anyway, this song! It's nice and calm, asking the questions of life, and I like the way it's on the border between pop and classical (minimal)

maybe my earlier outburst was more indicative of my mood
#I want to fucking die that's all#I'm ending my fourth year of studies. in a two-year degree. and I'm still doing first-year subjects.#and I never actually wanted to study in the first place I'm literally only doing it for the money#$366 a fortnight plus the measly five bucks they add on top as 'rental assistance' in a state I don't live in#not that I'm complaining about that mind you $5 is $5#but I can't wait for the moment the cunts realise and bill me for ten times the amount because robodebt hasn't ended it's just#rebranded.#I nearly became the only male in my family over the last few months and honestly it's killing me that I can't be seen as that if it were so#and i know it's selfish to say it because I know people have it far far worse but#genuinely lost any chance of being myself with covid being a thing.#lost any chance at running away I know I have some sort of stockholm syndrome even though ik that was a made-up term#I should've. saved up over 2019. made money with commissions worked myself to the bone with that#since school nearly killed me anyway#what's even changed since 2018! I still spend every day on my bed and get yelled at for I have nowhere else to go#I still get shamed for not eating what my grandmother wants. she still yells at me if I don't eat her cooking.#don't really want to be in the world to be honest.#if I'd just. left at the start of 2020. not taken my flight home that day. left to go somewhere else#I've wanted to run away and leave since I was thirteen for fuck's sake#not that i knew it. but#there's a common theme in my writing and it's the moment the character has to leave home. the start of the hero's journey.#but I don't have a hero's journey I'm not a character I'm a person who can't even. I can't even function half the time#if I'd just left and if I'd just focused on actually being good at things instead of pretending to keep up appearances#I should just let myself die. wouldn't that be better for literally everyone

2023 in a nutshell - chạy trời không khỏi nắng 🥲
Nhưng dù sao mình cũng đã cố gắng để chạy dưới trời nắng đó.
Mong mình đủ sức khoẻ, đủ mạnh mẽ và may mắn để chạy tiếp chặng 366 ngày tiếp theo.

Song #95
I like the sound of Portuguese. That might just be because I don't understand it, so I listen more to the shapes of spunds than to words and meanings. This song is really nice

Heute ist Schalttag!
Schalttag ist der 29. Februar.

The Archive
Introduction On 14 June 2020, I accidentally deleted my tumblr, wiping out a blog that I had been maintaining since January 2011.  I was distraught due to losing a lot of fond memories – and crushed at the thought of so much of my writing disappearing.  I hadn’t been very disciplined about keeping offline back-ups of my work, so when my blog disappeared, so did a large collection of poems, short stories, vignettes and fanfics.
Over the last few years, I’ve steadily recovered a decent chunk of my writing (about 300 pieces) thanks to my friends reblogging my posts and being diligent with their tagging systems.  I’ve now been able to archive and remaster my poems and prose pieces – though my fanfiction remains in the ether (which, to be honest, I’m okay with). On that note, I would like to express immense gratitude to the people whose blogs I recovered my works from:

caitsylph
@houkou-nrl
jirohoushi
kara-kitsu-x

@kidasbrainspace

lassinajumper
@lenandbonten
@mono-frog
@mon-qi
seethebattlefield
@s-ephiroth
@tacotits
@ten-thousands-hobbits
thunderdownongreenside-archive
I know a lot of these bloggers either are no longer on tumblr or use these accounts (and tumblr wouldn't allow me to tag everyone?); even so, I want to share my thanks. And thank you to everyone else who read, shared or otherwise enjoyed my writing over the years.  I hope that it inspired deep feelings and I hope that it bought you comfort.  I want you to know that I wouldn’t still be pursuing writing if it wasn’t for all the support you sent my way.  I read and savoured your comments and tags and, I promise you, I am grateful for all the love I received. Methodology While it would have been simpler to reblog the old posts, save for those that were trapped under a Read More (and a fair few pieces fell into this category), for this archiving project, I opted to take the opportunity to edit my works (also, I didn’t particularly want to bombard my friends’ notes by reblogging ancient posts).  This gave me a chance to appropriately re-format some works which had, unfortunately, originally looked quite ugly! The editing process was incredibly interesting – I ended up making changes to almost all my posts, so it’s good to know that I’ve definitely grown as a reader and writer over the last decade.  A very small number of the posts were brand new for the blog, but at this stage, I’m happy to count them as part of my archive.  For me, it’s important to compartmentalise and draw a divide between the writing I shared then and the writing that I will, hopefully, go on to pen in the future. I’m still in the process of proofreading: some of my tags have typos and there are certainly some errant dashes, among other issues, here and there.  Nevertheless, I’m satisfied with the state of things for now. Some posts are titled [‘Circa …’].  If I had been savvier about using tumblr mobile in conjunction with the web version, I could have recovered all of the exact dates of my original posts.  However, what’s done is done and I am satisfied with what I was able to accomplish. Statistics I love numbers – here are some interesting graphs regarding my posts:
Tumblr media
Posts by Form - Prose – 37 - Poems – 271 Total – 308
Tumblr media
No. of Posts by Year - 2012 – 1 - 2013 – 4 - 2014 – 21 - 2015 – 61 - 2016 – 114 - 2017 – 44 - 2018 – 22 - 2019 – 16 - 2020 – 20 - 2022 – 4 - 2024 – 1 Total – 308 There’s definitely a lot of writing that I wasn’t able to track down: in 2016, for example, I believe that I posted 366 poems.  Still, I’m pleased with the works that I did find – it was great to rediscover works that I’d completely forgotten about. I think that draws this post to a close.  Thanks for reading!

day 9/366
mindblown, still 🤯 — of what ? mech vent 🥲
could never understand how i survived this class. been trying to make easier-to-understand notes at the time and after that ive been avoiding studying it because my head literally hurts from being overwhelmed, hahaha
was only supposed to study using persing's but since it was too summarized, i brought out my notes from chang's and egan's and ultimately gave up for the night 😌 (i mean it was already 12mn so i feel my giving up is justified)
anywho, deviated from my supposed sched for today, and this is what happened:
laundry
grocery + ice cream date with mama
attempted to study mech vent
day 2/7 prayer and worship + day 2 fasting
messaged our program head regarding my inquiries about my classes (unfortunately i wasnt able to send follow up questions that i needed bc doc wasnt able to reply)
forgot to mention the highlight of my day: making a friendship tracker with my friends, hahaha, we've entered that phase 🥲
ive also found a vlogger (Hayeon) whom i now adore because as someone who wants to grow spiritually, ive been meaning to make my bible reading and quiet times in the morning again during breakfast before anything else (like how i used to despite being overloaded) +++ work out again !! ive gained so much this holiday season i think all the weight i shed during 2020-2021 came back hahahaha
also, to note, ive just been continuing to self-study topics related to respi to not forget + now im tackling the topics that gives me a hard time, i figured i should face them now instead of hiding under the topics i like hahaha

To achieve anything, you must be prepared to dabble on the boundary of disaster.
- Stirling Moss
To many, he’ll be known as the greatest Formula 1 driver to never win a championship, and while true, that statement does something of a disservice to the many incredible feats he chalked up in his life. His 16 wins in F1 were just the tip of the iceberg.
Single-seaters. Endurance racing. Road racing. Touring cars. Moss competed in them all, clocking up as many as 62 races in a single year. As an all-round talent, Moss was unbeatable.
Of the 366 races he finished he won most of them. 222, to be precise.
Although Moss’ F1 achievements are numerous enough to fill one very long article with them, it was arguably in the realm of sports cars in which he left his most significant mark.
It’s tricky to pick out one of Sir Stirling’s 16 F1 wins to feature over the rest, but his 1961 Monaco Grand Prix victory seals the deal for us for several reasons. His underpowered Lotus-Climax 18 shouldn’t have been anywhere near the pointy end of the grid, yet he bagged pole position, going on to win the race ahead of the Ferrari 156s which would go on to dominate the season. To cap it all off, the victory was given an extra dash of heroism by Moss’ decision to remove his car’s side panels to keep himself cool.
Away from the well-known racing exploits, Moss also dabbled in speed records. Along with a couple of endurance-based efforts in a Jaguar XK120 he also drove MG’s EX181 at the Bonneville Salt Flats in 1957.
The streamliner - nicknamed the ‘Roaring Raindrop’ - was powered by a supercharged 1.5-litre inline-four producing nearly 300bhp. Moss claimed five ‘Class F’ records in the vehicle, with a fastest flying kilometre average speed of 245.64mph.
Sir Stirling won the Nurburgring 1000km three times on the bounce - 1958, 1959 and 1960. With a fourth victory to his name in 1956, he’s won at the race - now known as the 6 Hours of Nürburgring - more than any other driver. In typical Moss fashion, he did so using a variety of cars - a Maserati 300S, an Aston Martin DBR1 and a Maserati Birdcage.
Moss’ top-flight motorsport career was cut short following a colossal crash at a non-championship race at Goodwood in 1962, which put him in a coma for a month. So severe was the collision, the Lotus’ steering wheel was infamously left bent out of shape from the impact of Sir Stirling’s head.
Not only did Moss recover from partial paralysis, he even managed to get back in a racing car the next year. And he was still fast; his test session laps in a Lotus 19 were said to be at a competitive pace. Regardless, Moss felt he’d lost his instinctive racing edge, and chose to end his motorsport career.
Still in his early 30s, he had packed an incredible amount into a short space of time. And that isn’t where his motorsport journey ended, either - he’d remain a prominent figure in the racing world for decades until illness would eventually force him to retire from public life in 2018. He died with Susie, his beloved wife, at his bedside in 2020, aged 90 years old.
