Can you do a request for bedhead Levi when he is just waking up? Thanks!
Hi, love! How are you? I hope you're doing great! Something you should know about me is that writing daily/mundane Levi is MY FAVORITE LEVI; therefore, I loved this one! Since you clarified to me that you just wanted early morning Levi, no need for it to be romantic. Here it goes!
Tiptoes running cold, shoulder blades aching painfully, saliva dropping to his chin. Contouring uneasy, paper sticking to his humid face. A numbling feeling down his folded arms as he softly peeked over them. He had fallen asleep on his desk... again. Slouched against the desk's chair, feeling the chenille relaxing sensation against his cheek as he rubbed his head against the furniture, like a cat against a leg.
A pointless search for relaxation again, as he had learned the hard way that once he had woken up, it was too late. His insomnia wouldn't allow much rest, or perhaps it was that the second his mind was slightly awake, it had the arduous and tireless task of reminding him how much work he had left—an endless mental to-do list.
Pale fingers brushed against his face, applying pressure to the bridge of his nose and rubbing his sticky eyes. The headache was an announced occurrence, perhaps due to the heavy strain on his neck… was it from sleeping on a desk? Absolutely. Did he have any intentions of changing that habit? No. Levi considered himself an "old dog" that doesn't learn new tricks, despite picking up new skills every day to improve his 3DMG performance. Old habits die hard.
Hearing the bird chirping from the window behind was relaxing; the earliness of the morning was something he valued. The calmness, the silence, the peace – a mellow feeling that lingered with an anxious anticipation of the upcoming routine or, perhaps, something worse, but he was unsure of what. Soldiers are always in fear of something, an unknown source of danger that is extremely vivid.
A loud scoff, echoed steps against the wooden planks as he finally stood up. His legs hurt because, once again, sleeping sat down at his desk wasn't a healthy practice for his blood circulation. Groan after groan escaped him as he did some daily stretches. It was like a drop of water for a starving man, soothing his exhausted muscles. Checking his reflection in the mirror, a swirl of hair in the top back of his head, locks pointing upwards, and the rough sensation under his fingertips as he caressed his face was noticeable. He sighed, tired and resigned. The shower turned on, waiting for the water to warm up.
Five minutes, a quick and effective military shower. Everything in Levi's life is measured in millimeters; this man is a man of discipline and order. It's hard to believe he was ever a thug. Towel around his hips, toothbrush in his mouth, free hand whipping the brush to create the shaving cream. Spitting in the sink, not wasting a second, he was already getting ready to achieve a clean appearance. Hair quickly accommodated with the wetness of the fresh shower, a sharp razor carefully caressing his neck. Days like this made him wish he wasn't so stupidly pale and his hair wasn't so dark. A bad combination.
Tidying up his room, folding papers back to their respective places for easy retrieval later, softly removing any dust that could have accumulated on any surface, brooming the place, and making the bed. The bed was immaculate and would remain that way; each morning he made the promise of extending the sheets so he would just have to jump right in when he got tired later on. He broke that promise almost every night. Tightening up the cravat around his neck, checking the weather through the window, he opened it to let the fresh air come in. It was a perfect day for 3DMG practice, so he tightened up his harness. The wings of freedom were on his back.
With a quick pace down the hallways, he knocked three times at Hange's office. 'They always oversleep,' he thought. At this rate, either they always oversleep or they are using him as an alarm clock. Brewing his own tea, the only luxury he allowed himself to buy, only to pair up with the breakfast tray everybody got. Sharing the meal with his team, he considered it an important bonding moment with the rest of the soldiers, or at least it was with his previous squad.
Who thought that waking teens up at 6 am was a good idea? Armin was basically asleep, resting his head on Jean's shoulder. Jean and Eren were arguing across the table, Connie was sleeping with crossed arms over the surface. Sasha and Eren were pushing food down their throats. Loudness, noises, high-pitched comments as the teens talked to each other. Levi wrinkled his nose, unsure if it was because most of the boys and Sasha were eating with their mouths open or the stink from the teens. 'Titans kill people, not soap and water for fuck's sake,' he thought. Then, 'You're supposed to eat with your mouth, not your clothes, Eren; pigs eat tidier!'
Fingers around his tea cup, deep breath in, counting in his mind, trying to find any piece of remaining patience left in him. The heat of the ceramic, the smell of a good brew invading his senses. Peace, peace at least in some form.
"Captain?" Eren's childish voice came from his right, breaking the mental relaxation. Slowly opening his eyes, silently checking on the titan shifter. "Today we will have 3DMG training?"
"Yes," he replied slowly. The smile on the teen's face, the happiness. 'Like a kid in a candy store,' he thought. He would even dare to admit to himself that the ridiculously childishness was almost endearing; it could have made a subtle smile appear on his face with the rest of his team cutely asking if "he slept well."
Until… "Jean! Stop kicking me under the table!" "I'm not kicking you; I'm simply taller! I need more space!" "You're only 5cm taller, you asshole!" mixed with Sasha pushing a bread down her throat.
Dead tired eyes admired the scene, 'I love my job… I swear I do.'

Pairing: Levi x fem!reader
Warnings: Angst...Death, mentions of war. Cussing, shouting, crying
Word Count: 649 (AAAHHH, It's short)
A/N: Two in one day AGAIN, damnnn
(Requests open)
Tumblr media
You hated fights with Levi, especially before expeditions. You two loved each other deeply however just like in any relationship, you had your good days and bad days and boy were your bad days BAD.
And today was one of those days.
“WHY CAN’T I GO, IM A FUCKING CAPTAIN JUST LIKE YOU LEVI!” YOU YELLED
“BECAUSE UNLIKE ME, YOU ARE COMPLETELY INCOMPETENT AND IF YOU GO OUT THERE YOU WILL DO NOTHING BUT TAKE UP SPACE AND CAUSE EVERYONE ISSUES!!” He yelled just as loud
“LEVI I AM DAMN FUCKING GOOD AT MY JOB AND YOU KNOW IT!”
“The only thing you are is delusional and you know it. So please, stop being a headache and listen for once.” He said in a chilling low tone.
He didn’t actually think that you couldn’t handle it, if anything, you were more skilled than any other member of the army. But that’s when It’s Titans. The war you were going to fight was against humans and they were unpredictable. He was just worried about you. If anything were to happen to you, it would ruin him. He just didn’t have the best way of communicating that.
“Well fuck that Levi. I’m a grown woman and I can do whatever I want, and I’m not going to sit here at home while people are going to be out there fighting for their lives and that’s final!” You walked out and slammed the door behind you and that was that.
***
He knew he shouldn’t have let you come. He knew he should have made you stay but you just wouldn't listen.
He was using his 3DMG to get to the medics tent as fast as he could. You were okay. Oh gosh you are going to be okay. He can’t lose you. He needs you. You’re his everything and he wouldn’t be able to survive without you.
Running through the tent flaps. His blood ran cold as he looked down at you in your bed with a bullet wound right in the center of your chest.
He knelt right next to your bed and held your cold palm on his own. Gosh, you felt so cold. Too cold.
“Darling, hey, hey, I’m right here. Look at me, look at me.” He said frantically, trying to grab your attention.
You slowly turned your head to face him, Smiling softly at him when your eyes met.
“Hey sweety.”you responded, although your voice is extremely soft as you’ve run out of energy.
“Hi, look, everything’s going to be okay, just stay with me, you’re going to be okay, I promise.”
“Levi, I’m sorry, I should’ve listened” you said sadly, a stray tear running down your cheek.
“No, no, no, please don’t be sorry, it wasn’t your fault.”
“Remember to take care of yourself.” You said, voice fading slowly
“Y/N please-” he responded, voice breaking ever so slightly as he placed one palm against your cheek, brushing away your tears. Gosh, you were bleeding so much…too much.
“And don’t overwork yourself”
“My love please, don’t do this to me.”
“And you dare, ever, forget that I love you.”
“Also, remember that I just want you to be happy, okay.?” “Y-Y/N I’m begging you-”
“And you dare, ever, forget that I love you.” You said, and then your chest stopped rising and your body went limp.
“Y/N, Y/N please, wake up. Darling, wake up. Don’t go, please please please don’t go. My love, don’t do this to me. I can’t live without you, please. Please.”
He was trembling as tears streamed down his face. You were gone. No matter how much he denied it or how much he prayed to all that was good and just, You are gone. You are gone and there was nothing he could do to change that.
He didn’t even get to tell you he loved you.

‘Attack On Titan XR Ride’ in Osaka’s USJ
As I mentioned in my previous post, I’ve been living in Japan for the better part of a year now, and one opportunity I absolutely did not want to pass up was to see the Attack On Titan XR Ride at Universal Studios Japan, Osaka, before it closed down in August. It’s been a few months, so my memory might not be perfect, but I’ll do my best to describe it to you.
Tumblr media
The courtyard in front of the ride was decorated with a Colossus Titan head, banners for the different regiments, and statues of Eren, Mikasa, and Armin.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
There was also a shop selling unique merchandise where I bought a very high-quality and cosy Survey Corps cape to wear in the gargantuan queue for the ride.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
A 3D animation that looks like the A.O.T. video games plays outside the ride while you’re waiting. A pair of closed windows by the entrance is opened up by Armin (it’s really a screen, but you can’t tell that til he opens them, so it’s a nice surprise). He then gives you instructions for the ride with interruptions from Eren, Mikasa, and Levi (who flies in in 3DMG gear in a very extra manner). About halfway through Hange butts in and takes over Armin’s explanation. They all have their Japanese anime voices.
The setting is that you’re on a Survey Corps expedition in Wall Maria, around Season 1-2 era. Once you enter the building, you go inside a hexagonal room surrounded by screens like window slits, through which you can see a Wall Maria town. Armin is talking to you over the speakers, when suddenly you hear the THUMP THUMP THUMP of titan feet, and outside the windows their feet come into view! One crouches down and you can see its face (I think it was the Peering Titan, the one that ate Mina).
Armin tells us we’re getting out of here, and the screens depict our descent as Armin lowers us down an elevator, like the one in the Battle of Trost when they’re trapped at the supply depot. When we reach the bottom, Armin tells us we need to retreat to Wall Rose, and a guide in Survey Corps cosplay ushers us through a door.
Past this door is where the real queue begins. It took about an hour or so, but it was made more enjoyable than the outside wait by the atmosphere and pretense that you’re on your way to evacuate. Music from the anime plays over the speakers, and the ride safety information that plays on the screens is done in the same manner as the ‘Current Publicly Available Information’ slides from the anime, and is narrated by Hange.
Eventually you get to the rollercoaster proper, sit down and fit a VR helmet over your eyes. You see a POV experience of the video-game style animation, with you going through a tunnel seated in a horse-drawn cart. When the ride gets started, and you leave the tunnel, you see the Colossus Titan tearing up the town. The twists and turns of the rollercoaster are portrayed as your carriage running up and down the falling debris, and even getting caught in the hand of the Colossus!
Luckily, Mikasa saves you, accompanied by Eren and Armin, and she asks if you’re okay. Levi appears to beat back a sea of Pure Titans trying to grab at you, saying something cool - probably “get a move on” or something (there were no English subtitles on the actual ride).
Eventually, you get out of the collapsing town and plunge down to a grassy plain. Here, you see the Armoured Titan charging at you, but Eren turns into a Titan and keeps it occupied. At one point, Sasha dashes past you on a horse. She drops her potato and looks back to it, wailing mournfully.
You’re almost at Wall Rose now, but the Beast Titan is blocking your path, saying something in that wonderfully deep voice of his. Eren’s Titan returns to you and you ride up his arm. At his shoulder, you abandon your cart and start zipping around in 3DMG with your comrades, the rollercoaster getting very wild at this point. You see Hange swinging by laughing maniacally.  With your combined strength you’re able to attack and immobilise the Beast and swing past him into Wall Rose.
The entry into Wall Rose is very sudden and you’re on a cart again with Eren. You can see all the townsfolk cheering your arrival, and the other comrades who fought with you are lined up on a podium doing the Survey Corps salute. Eren compliments your efforts and the ride ends. And no, sadly, Historia was not present, nor Jean, Connie, and Erwin 🥲.
While I was getting off, I heard a little girl shout “Levi kakkoii!” (Levi’s so cool!). Dunno if someone younger than 10 know about SNK, but at least she had fun.
Tumblr media
Outside the gate is a food stall with an SNK aesthetic (third picture). They sold food themed off the characters: I remember there being a Mikasa steamed bun.
Tumblr media
I didn’t eat there, though, because I already planned to have lunch at the SNK restaurant opposite the ride (fourth row). Inside, there was music from the anime playing together with clips from the show on a TV screen, up to the latest season. The set meal options were the Eren Plate, the Levi Plate (with tea, of course), and, for kids, the Mikasa Plate. You could also get desserts themed after Mikasa, Armin, and Levi, and a cup for your drink with one of the Shiganshina or Veteran trio on it.
Tumblr media
You can guess what I chose. This Japanese conversation occurred with the woman behind the counter:
Her: “An Eren Plate with an Eren Cup. You really like Eren, huh?”
Me: “Yes, I’m a Jaegerist.” (joking!)
Tumblr media
As you can see in my photo, the Plate Meal has an aesthetic like the anime without being such simple grub as the Survey Corps often have to eat. It was expensive, but damn, it wasn’t just because it had a picture of Eren sticking it out. It was one of the most delicious meals I’ve ever had. Also, I got to keep the cup.
Between the ride and lunch, I wandered around the rest of USJ and went on the Spider-Man VR ride - surpisingly themed to the 90s cartoon, which was very nostalgic. Japanese J. Jonah Jameson is a treat, and a recording of Stan Lee even thanked us for going on the ride at the end. I also saw Harry Potter, Jaws, and Jurassic Park attractions. Sadly, the queue for the Mushroom Kingdom was too long.
While I was wandering about, staff members from attractions totally unrelated to SNK would notice my cloak, give me a Survey Corps salute, and thank me for my service. This was probably an instruction given to all the staff, but damn if it didn’t make me feel good. Although, if they really wanted to make me feel like I’m in the series, they would berate me as a waste of tax money.
It was a 10/10 experience, the closest one can get to feeling like they’re really in the society of the Walls. Sadly it is now lost to time, but I hope this post allowed you all to enjoy it vicariously.

"I have a better idea, Bambi. If your leg feels strong enough and you're up for it; we'll try and get you back on both your feet." Maria remained silent as she examined the prosthetic in his hands.
"What's with the face?" Levi sighed out.
"For starters, how did Hanji bring this along? I don't recall her bringing it on the carriage. Second, how are you certain my leg is well enough to try?" "I told you If your leg feels strong enough and you're up for it, didn't I?" The ravenette rolled his silver orbs.
"Besides, Hanji was going to give it to you anyway. She wasn't the one who brought it along; I ordered Jean to get it and put it on one of the supply carts."
"So what's it going to be Bambi? The reinforcements just left, so we'll be here for a while. It's your choice, I'm not gonna tell your grown-ass what to do."
Maria would lie if she would tell him she didn't want to get back on her own two feet, but it would never be the same now, would it? Levi had massaged her sore flesh mere hours ago. Wasn't it too soon for her to be thinking about this; using her leg?
"Now what's bothering you?" "Nothing." "I don't know what kind of play-act you're trying to make me believe, but you know damn well you can't fool me. You haven't changed your mind about all of this, have you Bambi?" The mockery in his voice made her believe he was only messing with her in his own way. "I've had to listen to your whining for days about how much you wanted to get back on your feet."
"Well no, believe me when I tell you; that's not it." "Then what's holding you back." Maria frowned looking at her freshly bandaged leg. "Say, Levi. If I try it on and start walking right away, am I not taking the risk of my stump opening up again?"
Feeling pain was something she'd grown used to since the end of the expedition, but the honey-blonde couldn't help but feel worried about her still healing flesh. What if it opened up and would start to inflame, Erwin would never even think of taking her back in.
"You've been healing up fine Bambi. Four-eyes talked to your nurse before we left. Stop worrying." Maria shifted her doe-eyes from her leg, to the prosthetic.
"You're just gonna get used to the feeling of standing on it. Or did your thick head think you'd be using 3DMG straight away?" Maria couldn't help but snort, looking at the man in front of her.
"Should I point out again how uncharacteristically caring you've been?" "I'm emotionally constipated. I haven't given a shit about anything in years." He 'tch-ed' the small woman and flicked his pointer finger against her forehead.
"Ouch..."
"Alright, alright, I'll give it a go..." Maria muttered, giving the black-haired male a lopsided smile.
· · ─── · ·
Getting the prosthetic in place had been quite the task. Levi had helped her pull a protecting sock over her bandages to make sure her leg would be kept from damage and further irritation. Maria had insisted on doing it herself but the male simply wouldn't let her, telling her she had to save her strength for walking. Of course, it didn't make sense, but the honey-blonde didn't want to argue with him either. Instead, she was stuck, watching him from under her lashes yet again.
"Let me do this one..." She muttered from under her breath, gently taking the strap - that belonged on her thigh - from his hands. This time the man did not argue as he got up from his squatting position. "Make sure it isn't too tight but it isn't too loose either."
"Aye Captain," The ravenette watched her fingers work on the strap as he crossed his arms. "Alright, can you turn around please?" Maria whispered, earning a questioning look from her friend.
"I need to secure the last strap." Meaning she had to go up a little higher than she wanted Levi to see. The man did not speak as he did what she asked him to and he left the room to get his crutch. He knew he wouldn't be able to support her weight entirely with his injury. Although it was healing quite nicely, he was advised not to put too much pressure on it just yet. Supporting another body with his ankle injury could make it worse. Still, he would try and help his Lieutenant; Injury or no injury.
"Are you done?" "Yeah, all strapped in." Maria smiled while shifting her eyes to his crutch. "Your crutch?"
"I can't fully support your body, so you'll have to use the crutch to compensate for the weight you'll be putting on your leg." "Are you sure that's even going to work?"
"Just take it." "Don't you need it anymore?" "No, it's yours now. You'll be needing it more than I do." The honey-blonde gave him a weak nod as she moved her body to the edge of her seat. One last look in his grey eyes was enough for Maria to place her right foot on the ground. With the support of Levi and his crutch, she pushed herself off the chair. Her right knee soon started to buckle as she tried to get used to the feeling. It was just as when Jean and Armin had helped her in the wheelchair. Confidence seemed to fleet from her body as Maria withheld herself from placing her left foot down.
"I'm barely 5.2'. It's all your fault if you had high expectations..." Maria whimpered. It was meant to be a joke, but she couldn't help but feel unsure about her capabilities.
"I'm not, you're the one holding high expectations." He spoke, again surprisingly gentle. She could feel Levi's hands tightening around her left forearm and waist.
"When you're ready, Bambi." The woman gulped as she looked down, still trying to find her balance. "Alright..."
She slowly let the ball of her prosthetic foot make contact with the wooden flooring. Putting on as little pressure as she could, Maria tried to shift her body weight while hissing in discomfort. As she focused on herself, she forgot Levi was still holding her. To her surprise, it didn't hurt as much as she had expected it to. It was merely a weird and a bit uncomfortable sensation. The honey-blonde was standing upright, with two feet on the floor. However, she could only feel so much. The stump under her left knee touching the material of her new extension brought a peculiar feeling with it.
"Is this alright?" Returning from her daze, Maria turned her head to catch a glimpse of Levi's face.
"It doesn't hurt." "Good. Now try and lift your right foot." "Are you crazy? That means I'll be putting pressure on my left leg." "You've got the crutch and I'm holding you." "That's reassuring... You're still injured yourself." Maria hissed.
"Do you trust me or not Bambi?" "With my life." "Then lift your damn foot."
Doing as he said she put her right foot forward, her legs wobbling with the smallest step. Levi noted she resembled a newborn foal taking its first steps. Maria sucked in a breath as she now moved her left foot. It wasn't a big step, but she knew it didn't matter because Levi reassured her she was doing well.
"That's it." As Levi spoke these words, she could feel his breath hit the shell of her ear. "Go slow." Maria followed his lead as he removed his hand from her arm, slowly moving around her while holding her waist.
"No, don't let go of me yet..." The honey-blonde whispered anxiously. "I won't, keep going, and don't forget to concentrate on your footing." Levi's grey orbs locked with her doe ones, noticing her unsure expression. The male opened his mouth to reassure her yet again but was interrupted by an urgent knock on the door.
"Captain Levi sir! I'm here to report! Section commander Hanji and the other injured soldiers have returned from the wall!"

Are you ready for ERWIN AND MIKE TRAINING CADETS HEADCANON EDITION?! YES?! OK, HERE WE GO!
Erwin was short, not that muscled, couldn't grow a bear for his life depending on him and was those nerd awkward kids that you think "this kid will never get pussy"
Thank god puberty hit him harder than the colossal titan to wall Maria. But he was a late boomer though, around his 17-18. Therefor, he had stretch marks on the bottom of his back because this kid like grew like crazy when his time finally came around.
Mike? he was the complete opposite, this kid was 12 and looked like 20 lmao. He was already tall like a mountain, thick like the walls, hairy like bear. He was the girlies dream as a cadet, pussy he wanted, pussy he got. He was the Reiner of his promotion, every girl wanted him and every guy wanted to be him.
Mike was what my mother would call "American's boyfriend", all the girls of the continent were his girlfriend at some point. He slowed down later on.
Erwin and Mike shared bunk beds and I think that at the beginning they didn't really get along. You know? Like Mike didn't pay any attention to the strategy/theory classes but was a genius on the 3DMG (Let's not forget that Mike was humanity's strongest soldier before Levi showed up). On the other hand, I feel Erwin as a kid/pre-teen kind of thing was those kinds who want to get along with the professors who do everything legal and correct until they had this magic moment where they realize they can get away with stuff. Plus, Isayama said that Erwin was in the top ten of his promotion but he wasn't that good at 3DMG. So Erwin want classes on 3DMG to get better and Mike needs to write an activity report that doesn't seem like written by a dog. When they began to work together, the friendship started.
Erwin is jealous of Mike, basically any girl he has a crush on only gets close to him to ask if Mike is available. Mike is ALWAYS asking him if he can leave the room and Erwin wants to sleep to be productive.
Let's jump when they stopped the training and carried on to the scouts, they share a bedroom. Erwin isn't a clean freak like Levi but Mike passes the limits, the new black plague grows in his bed. Erwin is always complaining he's the only one doing "all the chores, what will you do the day I decide to leave"
"You sound like my mother, Erwin"
Nile was the third one in the team and their betray to change to the MPs felt personal for the two. The three of them used to share rooms.
Ok, you remember I told you Erwin grew up all the sudden? ok, it took him awhile to get used to the attention before becoming the handsome charming smooth talker he's as a commander.
Mike would hear a girl talking to Erwin, see his clueless friend used to not being the girls attention and having to write him in a tissue from across the bar "she's flirting"
When it was Erwin's time to finally want the room for himself, Mike is a gossip little bitch. He wants to know all in return, how was it? how they did it? what they did it? which positions? This man was shameless, he would ask it in the middle of the corridor making higher-ups turn around with a smirk on their face and Erwin is a dying mess.
Each single bad idea originally was Mike and Nile the, as I told you, Erwin began to realize he could smooth out his way out of everything and oh boy. He planned the biggest scape plans and they never got caught.
It took Mike months to convince Erwin that Marie, the girl that Erwin has had a crush on for years, is finally showing interest and he's not making it up in his mind.
Definitely a toxic roommates relationship, Mike is just too laid back for Erwin in some aspects and Erwin is too obsessive for Mike. They 100% flighted way less once each got their own room lmao.
Once to make up, Mike searched for Erwin and said "It's a shame when we fight but a miracle when we fuck," being all goofy doing the regular "gay jokes between guys". Erwin looked at him completely done and said "Mike, the commander is in the bathroom he probably heard you,". The entire higher-ups of the scouts back the laughed about it from months in the meetings.
Erwin used to do kind of like "internships" to get his hands on legal and court themes more with Zachary. So when Zachary and Mike hangs out they make fun of how "cute and nerdly" Erwin used to be and how he shouldn't get cooky because they can always tell the rest. Erwin just role his eyes but he's secretly ashamed lol his modern au probably erased his teen pictures after his glow up.
Erwin isn't really good at holding alcohol but he's really good at pretending he does. Mike is all the opposite, he's better at holding it but once he's drunk he looks drunk and he acts drunk.
Mike and Nile once dared Erwin to use his "monitor" pass to go to the female barracks of the scouts, joking that he had to stay there for half an hour without getting caught by a girl. ... didn't come back in the entire night, the next morning Mike found him sneakily taking a shower and made fun of the hickey he had for weeks. Saying stuff like "I didn't know there were vampires in the female barracks "
Mike is one year and half older than Erwin, he joined with almost 14 years old the training grounds because his family had a farm and it was a rough year the one of his 12 and his family needed his help around. Good mommy boy.

A wedding interruption prompt!!!!!
I love the drama and l think that a levihan au could be very interesting
I LOVE THIS! I keep thinking of that one tweet about someone’s grandma who stood on a roof with a shotgun and declared she didn’t wanna marry the guy she was bethrothed to and wanted another guy instead and I thought *~LEVIHAN~*. Also Hanji’s parents are like oh well what the heck... and her whole village is really chill and they’re all like oh alright, you do you... and they all end up at the pub for a pint. PERFECT. I hope you like:
Run baby run
Levi is riding as fast as his horse can possibly carry him. He’s a fast rider and the winds are whipping against his face almost brutally. He’s regretting his stubbornness, but part of him still simmers at the fact that Hanji had just told him yesterday she’s getting married-
Today.
Along with all the other shit- gross and grimy and completely unreasonable- that she puts him through on a daily basis, Levi feels he deserves this. He deserves to feel angry. But the anger has possibly cost him the one good thing in his life. So fuck this entire situation, and fuck Erwin who had wasted time teasing him before giving him directions to Hanji’s village.
He knows Hanji’s family is essentially nobility in their little village. “It’s not a big deal. It’s like being mayor of one street in Sina...” she had said.
True enough, it’s a very small village, perfectly missable, if the village had suddenly vanished, it might take a while for people to notice. The streets are empty and Levi soon realises everyone is gathered outside the chapel in the middle of the town.
What completely catches him off guard is Hanji standing on the roof of the chapel in her white dress and veil with a shotgun in hand. And he realises the faces of the people in the crowd are not faces of joy and celebration, but of absolute fear. She’s waving the shotgun in the air and yelling something incoherent like a maniac, and Levi can’t figure out what’s going on until he blends with the commotion.
“Hanji.” He shouts. And that manages to catch her attention. The yelling stops and she looks straight at him, and so does everyone else in attendance. She’s beaming, and if Levi hadn’t been so goddamn confused by the situation he would’ve processed how stunning he thought she looked.
“I don’t want him,” Hanji says, she then proceeds to point her shotgun casually at Levi, “I want that one.”
At this point the whole town is gawking at him. Levi loosens his grip on his rifle. He feels very out of place with his full 3DMG. But hey. This is Levi’s first time objecting to a marriage so he hadn’t been quite too certain of what to take with him.
“... if he accepts...” Hanji adds as an afterthought, she’s a little sheepish now. They haven’t really spoken about this.
Levi thinks if there’s a good time to speak, now would be the time, so he pipes up, “why else would I be here you idiot?”
There’s whispering amongst the people in the crowd. Hanji is laughing.
“Hanji! B-but you’re betrothed to him!” It’s her father this time and Levi can tell this isn’t the first time he’s seen Hanji with a shotgun, but he’s scared still, and stuttering.
“But she’s in love with the angry little man!” Someone shouts from the crowd. Levi huffs, assholes. But it seems to be working, more voices from the crowd join in. And soon, Hanji’s parents slump their shoulders. “Alright Hanji... Go on then...” they say, without further struggle.
Hanji whoops and begins her descent from the roof. It’s a sight to behold really, and Levi is in awe. He watches her apologise to her (ex) husband to be and he looks relieved really, it’s evident from this debacle that he has dodged a few bullets.
“Hey...” Levi says. He’s fidgeting with his rifle now and his gear is clanging awkwardly against his legs.
“Hey...” Hanji says. She gestures at his getup then grins, “first time attending a wedding?”
Levi chuckles, “didn’t know whether to go for smart formal, or Coup d'état...” he shrugs.
When Hanji throws her head back to laugh, all his anger dissipates.
“So... You brought a shotgun to your own wedding?” Levi quips.
“It was doomed from the beginning... Heard the bride was never much into the groom...” Hanji winks, linking arms with Levi. The crowd is slowly thinning, and Hanji’s parents wave at them, then gesture over towards the pub. Hanji nods, they could all use a drink. That’s the general idea of a wedding anyway, right? “So... You like me...” Hanji teases. And at that moment, Levi realises they haven’t really discussed- this.
Whatever this is.
But they’re standing in front of a chapel and Hanji’s in a white dress (which she absolutely abhors and it’s starting to itch up a storm), and Levi’s not one to waste a perfectly good moment, no matter how inexpressive he may be. So with a scoff, he pulls Hanji down for a kiss.
“No more marrying other people...” he says, eyes narrow, but his hand has found Hanji’s and this is nice and new and he never wants to let go.
Hanji smiles, hiking up her dress with one hand, with her other hand in Levi’s, “that would be best.”

Five years ago...
"Who did you drag in this time, Erwin?" Levi's eyes were set on a small honey-blonde woman who seemed to be lost in thought, not caring about the world around her. His first impression of the young woman was far from positive. She was short and slender and her curly shoulder-length locks adorned a soft and innocent face.
Erwin sighed, thinking back to when the young widow accepted to join the Survey Corps. "Her name is Maria Hirsch, we picked her up from Trost district." He intentionally didn't speak of the situation and Levi knew, though he didn't bother to ask about it either.
"She won't last one single expedition." He bluntly stated. Erwin frowned. "She's too frail."
"Can you teach her the ropes?" "Heh?" "Can you teach her some things?" Levi scoffed. "By the looks of this girl, I'm gonna tell you; it's not worth my time."
Levi turned to look at his superior. "Why are you asking me this?"
"Because your skills are outstanding, and she hasn't had any training yet." The raven-haired man rolled his eyes. "I think she might surprise you."
· · ─── · ·
And well; she did surprise him... During her first combat training, Maria stood on the side, not too sure of what to do. "Oi." Her eyes suddenly made contact with a pair of dull grey ones.
"Ah, hi." She breathed out quietly. Before her stood a short but, handsome young man. His raven-colored hair was styled straight and shaved in an undercut. Despite his good looks, he did not display any kind of emotion, and this did not add up to his appearance. His extremely calm demeanor and expressionless face intimidated her.
"Let's get this over with." Maria cocked her head, questioning what he meant. Levi's irritation seemed to grow with the passing minutes. 'She wasn't this dense, right?'
"I meant, show me what you got Bambi. Fight me." This was the first time Maria got called Bambi by the black-haired male. Although she didn't quite understand how to fight him, she still did what he asked her to do. "Oh, yes of course." She mumbled with a small smile and got in a fighting stance. That was the first thing he noticed; her posture was wrong.
"Advance." Maria dashed forward and threw her right fist forward. Levi easily dodged her and flung his own back. He did not plan to hit her hard, he just wanted to see her reaction. When his fist made contact with her arm, Maria flinched - cowered back from him - while protecting her head.
Levi frowned, stepping back. "Why did you even join the Scouts?" Maria now uncovered her face, looking back at the stoic man. "You're too afraid to fight back and defend yourself. I bet you'll shit yourself when you would see a titan." He scoffed. "If Erwin took you in without training in the Cadet Corps, It would've meant you possess some kind of special skill. So, I hope you're better with 3DMG, then you are at combat."
The twenty-one-year-old just smiled back awkwardly. "I wouldn't know..." Levi let out a "Tch" and clenched his fists. "I don't care what Erwin said, I'm not gonna train a coward." He'd seen more than enough. Levi turned on his heels and walked off to find another sparring partner.
"Aww, don't take him too seriously, he's a short prune anyway." Someone butted in. Maria whipped her head to where the voice was coming from. A girl around her age placed a hand on her shoulder. "My name is Hanji, and that was Levi." She snickered. "We both joined last year- well technically Levi didn't join of his free will..."
Maria blinked, trying to process her words. "I'm Maria..." She slowly spoke. "So, he's also a cadet?" "Yeah, although he's a few years older." "Older?" "I see where your confusion is coming from, I mean he's quite short." Hanji tapped her chin with her pointer finger while thinking. "Levi's around twenty-eight I think. He doesn't talk about himself actually. Let's say he's kind of bad-tempered." The brown-haired woman hummed. "Oh?"
"I call him shorty or short-stack. But now I take a good look at you, I think you're even shorter." She suddenly changed the subject. Although Hanji seemed very nice, it didn't stop Levi's words from haunting her mind.
· · ─── · ·
Maria had slipped out of the barracks after sundown and made her way to the stables. She was well aware she sucked at combat, but not for the reasons Levi thought. The moment the male had hit her back, fear overtook her body.
Changing her demeanor would be a difficult thing to do. However, she was going to try it anyway. Even if this meant it would cost Maria her sleep, or she would risk getting punishment for sneaking out after curfew. The raven-haired man's words had hurt her, but they made her want to become better.
She thought the stables would be a perfect place to train. Therefore she made sure she wasn't spotted when she had left her shared room. Under her arm, she carried a pillow which she had taken from her bed. She had to wait for girls to fall asleep before she could leave. It wasn't easy to move outside without being seen.
Maria made sure to check her surroundings before entering the stables. The female stacked up some hay bales and tied her pillow to the side. She wasn't going to hurt her knuckles for everyone to see the next morning. If she damaged her hands, she would be in trouble for sure.
However, she didn't know Levi had snuck out as well, not being able to sleep due to his insomnia. The young man walked around Head Quarters, enjoying the cool breeze on his skin. He didn't make an effort not to be spotted, he just didn't care if he was seen or not. Moreover, most of his superiors wouldn't dare to start a quarrel.
Levi looked up at the sky as he kept walking, only for his peace to be disturbed by sounds coming from the stables. Due to his annoyance, he strode over to the source of the noise. Levi huffed when he laid his eyes on the petite woman he was asked to train.
"Your posture still looks like crap."
Maria let out a small shriek as she whipped around to look at the raven-haired male. "How long have you been standing there?" "Long enough." Her face contorted.
"Don't worry, I won't tell." He spoke in a bored tone. "Because I don't care."
"If you don't care, then why did you even come in. Besides, you're still here." She bit back. It surprised Levi she would even talk back. She almost hadn't spoken a word before. "You're free to leave. Tell the Captain. I don't care either."
Levi put up his hand and turned around. "Just keep the damn noise down if you don't want to be caught."
· · ─── · ·
In the following weeks, Maria would run extra laps and train her endurance. She would occasionally practice till the early morning and would sometimes even get through the day on just an hour of sleep. Now and then, Levi found her asleep on the table during dinner.
He did see progress and even started to become impressed with her perseverance. He hadn't expected her to act this way, but he had a hunch it was all about what he said to her on the first day of her training. He noticed how she would study the way her comrades would fight in combat, and then tried to mimic their actions in her own way. Slowly Maria even started to become better than some of them.
Erwin also noticed her sudden progression. "I see your teachings have paid off." "I didn't do shit." The blond man frowned.
"She has been training on her own." Levi turned his head to watch Maria from afar. "Surprising indeed, she even surpassed cadet Hanji Zoë." Erwin muttered.
Levi scoffed. "Well let's see how far beating four-eyes brought her." The man stepped forward, approaching the twenty-one-year-old who was currently sparring with Hanji.
He didn't want to boast about his skills, Levi just wanted to test her and see how far she'd come.
"Bambi." Maria turned to look at Levi. "Ha! Shorty, when did we earn the honor to be in the presence of Humanity's Strongest?" Hanji snickered.
"Fight me." The young woman let out a short laugh. "Fight you? You're me kidding right?" Although the smile on her face was sickeningly sweet, her words sounded derisive. Their last sparring session couldn't even be called a proper fight. Maria knew his skills were exceptionally high, but she was ready to test her luck and take him on again.
Levi was fast to act upon hearing her mocking undertone. His hand flung forward to grip the collar of her shirt. "Levi! What are you doing!?" Hanji yelped, but Maria's expression didn't change. "I thought I wasn't in your league, but if you think I am good enough right now, I'm happy to fight you." Her hand went up to grip his wrist, pulling him back.
That wasn't really the case. "Do I look as if I like to joke around?" He hissed. 'I had to make sure you wouldn't just throw away your life, stupid brat.' The thought swirled in his mind. After losing his friends, he didn't want more lives to go to waste, simply because he hated more unnecessary casualties.
Although he didn't want to train her at first, he had to make sure she had it in her to fight for herself.
"Positive." She made sure to create distance again, knowing her mockery would not go down well with Humanity's Strongest. All eyes were now set on the two standing across from each other. "Well then, advance." She taunted him, repeating what he said the first time they had engaged in combat.
In a rapid movement, Levi flung her over his shoulder. The girl landed on the ground with a hard thud. She whirled her body and hooked her leg around his ankle, bringing him down in the process. Maria's shoulders heaved as she panted and rolled over to straddle his hips. After getting ahold of his arms, Levi caught her off guard by pulling her forward. His face was now a few inches away, her breath fanning his face. He suddenly whisked away, pushing her body down on the dirt.
Maria turned her head spitting out the sand that had entered her mouth in the process. Levi now sat on her thighs, holding her down with one hand. He leaned in to whisper in her right ear; "You've become significantly better, but don't get too cocky."
He got off her and held out his hand. Maria's brown eyes locked with his grey ones as she took his hand. "Keep training like this and you may not be so worthless after all."
Maria smiled again, finally seeing through his charade. Some might have seen him as a complete asshole, but he did care about his comrades. Knowing this, she had a feeling Levi would grow on her.
