I just have so many questions about Killian’s backpack. Where did it come from? What does he keep in there? Why does he have so much stuff that he just carries around with him? Who told him about backpacks? Why is this the first time we are seeing it? I just have way too many questions

Because I felt we didn’t have enough angst so here’s some more with a little sprinkling of smut. Set right after the events of “Smash the Mirror” Rated T can also be read on ff.net

Killian joined Emma and her family on the porch noticing they were all a little tense. Had they already found out that the Crocodile had taken his heart? He wondered tucking the hat case deeper into his pocket guiltily.

“Swan what’s happened is everything all right?” he asked her as he came up beside her. She is so radiant he thought to himself, she deserves a better man than him, someone whole, a hero just like her, someone who is definitely not him.

“Well it was for all of two minutes until these weird ribbon things appeared on mine and Elsa’s wrists and now we can’t use our magic,” Emma said looking from him to her parents and Elsa.

“We think the Snow Queen is behind it somehow,” said Elsa still trying to get the yellow ribbon off of her wrist.

“So what does this mean for right now? What should we do?” asked Killian, he is not at the will of the Crocodile yet and he intends to do as much good and be as helpful as he can until his old friend starts to use him as a pawn.

“Well we could try to find her but we still have no idea where her lair is,” Charming said looking at Snow concernedly. The woman has a new born and hasn’t been able to see him or sleep for more than a day.

“No let’s just, let’s just go home. There’s no point in trying to find her in the woods in the dark plus I’d like to sleep in a bed tonight rather than the bug. I’m getting a little too old for sleeping in that thing,” said Emma with a slightly defeated expression.

“Aye but not as old as me, Swan” he replied hoping to get her to laugh or at least smile.

“True, I guess the bug is more comfortable than the caves you probably slept in 65 million years ago,” Emma said a small smile on her face and the rest of the group laughed and turned to head back to the loft.

“You can ride with me if you want and I can drop you off at Granny’s,” Emma proposed.

So I know tonight some people are disappointed in tonights episode and that’s okay. Everyone is allowed to have their own opinions but I for one really like the way things are going and here’s why:

  1. I freaking love that OUAT put an emphasis on the importance of self love. Self love is so freaking important but unfortunately can be extremely difficult to learn to do. I myself am going on a journey of self love and it’s really really hard sometimes and it can feel impossible. But I know that someday I will have it and all the difficult stuff I’ve been going through will be worth it. Emma Swan is a very emotionally closed off person and we have seen her over the course of 3 seasons now gain this great support group but she also needs to learn how to love and accept every single part of herself.
  2. I know the thing that pissed a lot of people off was the it was Elsa and not Killian who helped her control her powers. Here’s the thing, Frozen Swan is so important and amazing. We need to see more friendships like theirs, one that is very supportive and encouraging instead of the kinds that we usually see between women in the media which is a lot of tearing each other down and condescending comments to each other aka “frenemies”. I say more best friends less frenemies in mainstream media! Elsa has been nothing but supportive of Emma and vice versa since they met and Elsa understands Emma’s magic and how closely they are tied to her emotions.
  3. Killian having his heart ripped out can only lead to this amazingly epic battle for Emma to literally win his heart back. Just think that if they are holding off on an “I love you” or a TLK now it has to be super freaking awesome when we actually do get it! Like the finale kiss we got at the end of the Captain Swan movie, we had to go through all that angst and it was so satisfying and exciting to see that passionate and tender kiss. This can only mean good things on the (far) horizon for Captain Swan, and in the words of Emma Swan herself “be patient”

why do people think rumple's gonna trap emma in the hat?

The press release for 4x08 (which I really don’t understand why they released when we’re only on episode 5) said “Meanwhile, in Storybrooke Emma’s powers are out of control and her fear of hurting loved ones pushes her away from everyone she cares about. In her confusion Emma turns to Gold for help getting her powers under control. Gold tells her about a way to get rid of her powers altogether and Hook tries to put a stop to it.”

People are taking that to mean he’s going to try to trap her in the hat. Of course, it could be something else. Maybe it’s the anti-magic dust from the deleted barn scene. But Bobby has said Rumple is going to continue to do some really bad things, so maybe…
