Fandom Problem #4106:
When a well-known asshole likes/reblogs your posts and you want to block them but you are afraid to because you don't want to seem like an over sensitive baby who blocks people willy nilly because (for some reason) you care about what others think of you.

“Yejun, you cannot be serious right now.”
Yunho is the oldest out of two sons which comes with its own set of responsibilities and this moment was a perfect example of those unspoken responsibilities. He stares in horror, his younger brother surrounded by his friends with snack wrappers everywhere on the floor, empty bottles of soju dripping onto the table. His brother, Yejun, smiles at him gesturing towards with an already emptied soju bottle.
“Do you mind getting me another?”
Yunho yanks it out of his hand and slams it down onto the table, yelling at them to get up, clean their mess and leave. Yejun whines that it’s not fair but is quickly silenced once he catches his older brother’s expression, instantly sobering up and running to sort their trash. It was midterm season and an already stressed Yunho wanted nothing more than to just go home, hide in his room, and relax. He wasn’t expecting to unlock the front door and be met with his brother and his group of friends piled around the tv playing games.
Once the living room was cleaned and reorganized he had calmed down enough to agree to let Yejun’s friends stay but under the conditions they had to leave before he woke up. He didn’t have anything against them nor disliked them, he just knew they were going to be extremely loud and he wouldn’t be able to relax. Sighing, Yunho turns to finally head to his room but stops as he hears his brother call his name, turning back around, raising an eyebrow.
“Did you not bring your boyfriend with you today? I was hoping you would have so I could show these idiots on how to actually play this game.”
Yunho blinks before sighing with his hand pressed firmly against his forehead.
“Yejun, for the millionth time, Mingi and I aren’t dating and unlike you, he does more than game so he couldn’t come over today.” Yunho walks away entering his room but not before shaking from a shiver running up his spine swearing that the younger freshman sitting next to Yejun was staring into his soul.
For the following week, Yunho becomes aware of the freshman. She was the newest addition of his brother’s friend group, the silent type but clearly had a staring problem Yunho concluded. They ran into each other here and there, especially at home, you walking in on Yunho getting changed in the bathroom, both blushing and yelling apologies at each other. Exchanging numbers in case you needed anything from Yejun, Yunho wondered why you wouldn’t just text his brother but you were attractive and he wasn’t opposed to receiving texts from you.
Days go by without incident, finally seeming to go back to normal until Yunho sees his brother's friends again, being a day before their college exams, Yunho tiredly trudging into his bedroom not stopping once to say hi to anyone. He knew he had to study but he couldn’t get the motivation to, falling face first into bed as he allowed his eyelids to shut.
He’s restless, not being able to relax nor sleep from the loud chaos coming from the living room, Yunho huffs in irritation and turns to lay on his back, biting his lip as he takes his cock out. Moaning involuntarily behind his hand, he begins to stroke himself slowly. Stress melted from his body as he squeezed his eyes shut tight, no longer holding his moans back by much, rocking his hips to meet flush with his hand. Yunho shakes as he stops mid stroke knowing rubbing one off wouldn’t be enough, opening the drawer of his nightstand to grab his wand, body shaking at the expected pleasure from just turning it on, the vibrations making his stomach tighten.
Placing the wand directly onto the head of his cock, Yunho squeaks and moves it away, he was more sensitive than he imagined. He plays with the settings before he’s lost in his own pleasure, head hanging to the side with drool on his cheek, wand pressed against his cock, two fingers working his hole. Moans fall from his lips, panting as he feels his stomach tighten and thighs shake. Yunho doesn’t realize how loud he’s being, fingers desperately working to help chase his high, wand pressed against his groin as he goes back to stroking himself, using his precum to lube himself to jerk off faster. His head was in the clouds, chest rising and falling quickly as he pants with each stroke. He knew he was going to break, a third finger being more than enough for Yunho to cry out and cum onto his chest, the wand making him shake from the overstimulation.
It’s minutes of laying still and catching his breath before he’s sitting up and grabbing a tissue off his desk, cleaning himself up. It’s a couple minutes later when he realizes his door in fact did not shut entirely behind him when he came in, fear sinking into Yunho’s stomach. Has anyone heard him?
Yunho waits roughly thirty minutes before he opens his door further, poking his head out and looking both ways, darting to the bathroom. He properly cleans himself up, giving himself a pep talk before walking quietly into the kitchen, grabbing a water from the fridge; jumping out of his skin when he closes the door and turns to go back to his room, coming face to face with you.
“Can I help you?” Yunho asks with uncertainty, confused on why you were standing there. You point over his shoulder behind him towards the fridge, moving past Yunho.
“I was going to grab a snack if that’s okay with you, Yunho. It is, right?”
Yunho only responds with a quick nod, blush creeping up his neck. He couldn’t explain it but you made him feel embarrassed, even when he did normal day to day tasks. He watched quietly sipping from his water while you walked around the kitchen preparing snacks for your friends, turning around suddenly with a smirk on your lips.
“Do you need something, Yunho?”
Reality sets in for Yunho and he frantically shakes his head, leaving the room, not looking behind himself once until he slams his bedroom door behind him. A second wave of reality washes over him as he jumps into bed. Cursing at himself for getting flustered, hating himself for having a hardon for his brother’s best friend.
It has been months since their last awkward encounter, a few weeks since Yunho started purposely avoiding you. He’d stay busy in class all day, going out with Mingi and San at night just to hopefully avoid running into you. He hated how bothered he was by you, he hated more the idea of admitting he could possibly have a thing for the younger, an internal battle he didn’t want to face yet. Their last real interaction being the thing that set this new daily routine of avoiding you. He wasn’t expecting to come home from a late night of studying at the library, turning the corner to his bedroom as you walked out of the bathroom, towel wrapped tightly around your body. Yunho’s eyes widened along with his mouth as he quickly shut both and turned away to rest his head against his bedroom door.
“Oh, hi, Yunho.”
“I didn’t mean to look,” Yunho stumbles on his words, body frozen and burning up from embarrassment of gawking at you.
“It’s okay, Yunho. It’s your house so I’m sorry for freaking you out. I just got back with your brother from working out so I wanted to shower.”
Yunho opens his eyes and turns around, holding his breath as he struggles to keep eye contact. Your hair is wet allowing water droplets to fall and cascade down to your collarbones and exposed chest, causing Yunho’s cheeks to flare up from shyness.
“It’s ok, I just wasn’t expecting it, you look great. Sorry, I got to go. Study, I have to study.” Yunho opens his bedroom door, leaving you alone in the hallway before you even get a word in. Chuckling softly as you walk down the hallway into the guest bedroom thinking Yunho was the cutest thing on earth.
So, it wasn’t that much of a shock once Yunho started avoiding you more seriously, doing everything he could to ensure their paths wouldn’t cross. He felt awkward, staring at you and for the vulgar images he thought of while stroking himself. Yunho felt dirty and didn’t want to continue feeling as such so his brilliant course of action was to completely forget you ever existed. Which he failed at clearly and very quickly.
Once again, Yunho laid in bed with his hand covering his mouth as he moaned profusely as he stroked himself. Sweat beaded along his eyebrow as he continued to chase his high. His mind was in a haze, so caught up in his high he nearly screamed as you crossed his mind.
Why now?
Yunho felt disgusting but his hand continued to stroke himself, faster now, he didn’t want to acknowledge how hard he had gotten from the idea of the two of you having sex. Imagining how you would feel pinning him down, your lips exploring his skin and leaving open mouth kisses onto the skin on his inner thighs. He wanted to feel small against you (despite the respectable height difference), his body shaking as he slips from any reality where he was in control.
“Fuck, y/n, please,” Yunho groans with a whisper as he reaches his high, a jumble of swear words and moans falling from his lips as he came onto his hand. Turning his head and gasping when he sees you staring at him with wide eyes. Yunho scrambles to cover himself with a blanket, you quickly slamming the door and apologizing saying that you hadn’t seen anything - - that Yejun wanted him. He was doing so well at avoiding you and the one night he put his guard down, you just had to show up. He felt disgusted and that feeling left Yunho wanting to violently throw up.
He quickly cleans himself up and pushes past you to wash his hands, ignoring you entirely to go see his brother. He had decided that he was not going to allow himself to let you affect him anymore. Which, once again, he fails at miserably. The universe must hate him or you’re a literal devil, proven clear a few weeks later when Yunho is now staring at you in horror as the youngest is holding a pair of puppy ears and pointing at Yunho’s closet.
“I was looking for my brother’s jacket I let you borrow. I asked Yejun to ask you and he said to just grab it because you were with your boyfriend, I am so sorry.”
Yunho angrily snatched away the ears, grabbing the jacket off his desk chair, throwing it into your direction and told you to stop being so nosy, wanting you to get out. You quickly agree and start to make your way out of Yunho’s room, stopping once Yunho calls out your name in a soft tone.
“I don’t have a boyfriend.”
You only smile and nod, pointing at the ears in Yunho’s hand.
“So, you aren’t into pet play with him?”
Yunho turns into a dark shade of red, telling you to shut up and slams the door behind the younger, hearing you laugh all the way down the hallway. What a sinister prick, Yunho thought.
After their (Yunho’s) failed attempts at avoiding you, he gives up on that quest; the two of you rapidly get closer each day. The friendship was short -lived, only taking a month before they started dating. Yunho feels a lot less guilty stealing quick glances and thinking about you in his alone time. It’s not too long after when they revisit Yunho’s collection buried in the corner of his closet, Yunho embarrassingly explaining to you what pet play was, who laughed and nodded, saying you already knew what it was.
It didn’t take long before you were calling Yunho puppy.
Not that Yunho minded it, eating up every praise dished out to him.
Tumblr media
You were always a very soft dom when it came to Yunho, it was something that Yunho admired but he wanted to see you get mad. So, he did everything he could think of to annoy you, not listening, acting oblivious to others flirting with him, laughing too hard at stranger’s jokes. This was quickly caught by you, who was now not only annoyed by your boyfriend acting out of character, but annoyed with Yunho's seemingly carefree attitude.
Once they get home, you seem awfully quiet, and Yunho starts to worry that he genuinely messed up and upset you, quietly following you to your shared bedroom. Yunho jumps as he feels an arm snake around his waist, bringing him down to sit on their lap, turning to stare at you. Excitement and fear crept in Yunho’s stomach, your face was unreadable and calm, too calm. Shivers running over his body as you worked. No words are spoken as you place a collar around Yunho’s neck, leash attached to the front, Silently moving him off your lap, placing him down onto the bed to retrieve the ears in the closet. You placed them onto the top of Yunho's head, adjusting them to sit perfectly. Firmly telling him to lift his arms, Yunho listening to these orders, biting his lip willst you lift off his shirt. He blushes profusely when you help him remove his jeans, sitting back onto the bed quietly watching as you take off your own shirt. Yunho dug his nails into his thighs as his eyes darted to yours. They're thick, pretty, Yunho wants to kiss them but he’s brought to you as you move to stand directly in front of him. You wrap the leash around your dominant hand, yanking on it, causing Yunho to slam down onto his knees, a gasp of air coming from the elder’s chest.
“Why can’t you be a good puppy? Answer me, Yunho.”
“I didn’t mean,” he’s silenced with a second yank on the leash, hissing as he slams chest first against your knees.
“Dogs don’t speak now do they?”
Yunho swallows nervously and barks. It’s deep, yet quiet which clearly isn’t what you wanted, eyebrows furrowed as you stand up and press the heel of your foot against Yunho’s lap.
“Again.”
Yunho barks until his throat hurts, you mockingly laughing as you feel him harden against your foot, precum soaking through his boxers.
You remove your foot and push Yunho backwards, shaking your head then squatting down in front of him, placing a hand under his chin, tilting Yunho’s head back to get a real good look into his eyes.
“You’re not trying too hard on being my favourite puppy, hm? Will I need to bring Yejun in here to show you how a real puppy acts?”
Yunho whines, sniffling as he shakes his head. He places his head onto the top of your knees and nuzzles the skin there, praying that you will forgive him for his actions. He knows that you and his brother never had anything past a platonic relationship, you using it to only rile Yunho up with his possessiveness.
“Sit up.”
Yunho springs up instantly and sits politely, resting his hands flat against his thighs as he waits for his next set of instructions. Watching closely as you walk around the room grabbing various things and placing them onto Yunho’s bed, his stomach burning red hot thinking of what you could possibly do to him.
“Up. Up, pup.”
Yunho crawls onto the bed, sitting politely on the edge on all fours, staring up at you who’s positioned yourself at the foot of the bed. Your eyes are dark, something that excited Yunho so much it sent shivers throughout his entire body. He sits obediently whilst you brush back the hair that sat on his face, responding to each touch with a hum.
“Do you remember what happens to puppies that talk back to their owners, pup?”
Yunho takes too long to answer, resulting in a sharp slap against his thighs, the cool leather whip leaving marks against them. He bites his lip knowing making any sort of noise would result in another hit. You ask again, Yunho scrambling for words that come out incoherently resulting in another hit. You demand him to strip off his boxers, wanting to see his thighs. The two of you continue to go back and forth for a few minutes, Yunho’s mind so blurred he can’t even think while you get fed up and grab him by the back of his hair, bringing his face towards your own, only being a mere few centimeters apart.
“Maybe this will help you remember, pup.”
Yunho’s eyes widen as his mouth is filled with your strap, tears stinging the corner of his eyes at the sensation. His throat burns as you rock your hips making Yunho take every inch of it, fingers tight around the puppy’s hair. It’s a delicious feeling that Yunho enjoys much more than he’d like to admit, gagging around the younger as his mind blurs even more. He reaches down to stroke himself, pin like needle sensations running through his hands from you striking him with the whip. It makes you pull out of Yunho’s mouth, the puppy whining at the sudden loss of fullness, looking up at you with a confused look.
“You can’t even listen for five minutes can you, ungrateful brat.” you hissed before grabbing Yunho’s cock into your hand, squeezing the head into harshly.
“It’s a shame you have a huge cock, you know? You can’t even use it properly.”
Yunho whines hungrily at your degrading words, fighting the urge to buck his hips up into the younger’s grip. You’re quick to notice the pup’s eagerness, chuckling, dropping your hold and slapping Yunho’s cock watching as the elder yelps. His ears are filled by your degrading words as he slips from any hold of reality he had before, begging for you to forgive him, begging to be touched. Leaning forward a bit, you duck down to kiss Yunho on the lips, not being able to suppress the laugh falling against said lips before landing another firm slap onto Yunho’s cock.
“Now the puppy wants to listen? You’re pathetic, Jeong Yunho.”
“Please,” is all Yunho could shakily muster out, tears running down his cheeks. His cock flushed red against his abdomen, begging to be touched. You pull Yunho towards yourself, bringing his legs to hang off the bed, then painfully slowly starts climbing onto Yunho’s lap.
“Master, please.” Yunho groans as he begs, panting at the closeness of their bodies makes him feel as if he’s on fire. Yet, you have none of it, telling him to be both quiet and be good. You shakily raise your hips and place your lube covered thighs around Yunho’s cock and press them firmly together, resulting in Yunho throwing his head back with a cry. The lewd, wet sounds of you moving your hips, thighs tight around Yunho’s cock made the elder squeeze the comforter between his fingers, body shaking like a leaf.
“Y/n-ah, please.”
Your body stiffens, looks down at Yunho with a glare, loosening your thighs and snaking a hand up to roughly grab Yunho by the throat.
“Who are you speaking to?”
Yunho apologizes quickly with tears pricking his eyes, trying to kiss the hand wrapped around his throat, not making it anywhere near close. Babbling on that you are his master, how he’s sorry for messing up, begging to be forgiven, You must’ve forgiven him because now you were shifting positions and lowering yourself to stand up off the bed. With a quick snap of your fingers, Yunho is sitting on top of you, his cock heavy on his abdomen, ears stained red from embarrassment.
Running your hands down Yunho's body, finding a home holding his thighs, Yunho groaning from the added pressure on his welts. He swallows hard as you speak to him as if he’s the dumbest person on earth, hands lifting him up and instructing Yunho to position himself prettily on the strap. You simply loved the way your much larger boyfriend looked and acted so small around you, pretty long limbs that turned limp as he melted from your fiery touch. Yunho whines as he slowly sinks himself onto your strap, clenching around the full feeling making you tilt your head back with a moan. Yunho loved how you praised him for being so good, acting as if you could feel every bit of it. Once he got used to the feeling, Yunho was rocking his hips, hands pressed against your chest as he bounced. The sound of skin slapping against skin made Yunho shiver, dipping his head down to hungrily kiss you, whining as you groped his ass, smacking one cheek. The soft jingling of the bell on Yunho’s collar was in beat with his hips, you growing impatient with Yunho’s pace, hooking a leg under his and flipping him over so that you could easily pin Yunho against the mattress.
“Let me teach you how to feel real good, pup,” you spoke softly in Yunho’s ear, kissing down from behind his ear to the center of his shoulder blades. Feeling Yunho shiver underneath you and whining from the teasing, you carefully realign the strap with Yunho’s hole before beginning to slowly push back into him.
“Master, please,” Yunho clenches the comforter between his fingers, looking over his shoulder to watch as you bottom out. He’s greedy, pushing his ass back to meet flush with your hips, who doesn’t accept Yunho’s actions. You’re quick to grab a fistful of Yunho’s pretty brown hair and yank it making him yelp and apologize instantly. It doesn’t do much good, you keeping a steady hand on Yunho’s hair while quickening your thrusts, the bells on Yunho’s collar and doggy ears filling out the room. Yunho babbles about how close he is, the comforter now clenched tight between his teeth, you only continuing to drill into Yunho. Poor pup could barely breathe from begging to cum, crying over how full he felt, how good you made him feel. You knew Yunho was close and fucked out, his glassy eyes full of tears and drool pooling in the space between his cheek and the comforter. His thighs quivering and sweat causing his hair to stick to his face. You couldn’t help but touch all of Yunho with exploring hands, encouraging your pretty pup to hold on a little longer, spanking the side of his thigh as Yunho shakes his head.
“You’ll do as I say, brat. Now, be a good puppy and wait until I tell you otherwise.”
You pull out, receiving a whine from Yunho, rolling him onto his back. Placing your hand against Yunho’s stomach, moving it down slowly before wrapping a hand around Yunho’s flushed red cock, Yunho screaming for permission to cum, hiccuping and crying. You stroke Yunho slowly before stopping to align yourself back into Yunho’s hole, hips snapping against Yunho's pretty thighs, telling the pup to beg louder and then maybe the heavens will hear his prayers.
“Master, please, please,” Yunho begged too fucked out to form complete sentences, tears staining his cheeks. You spank his thigh before leaving toward Yunho, whispering into his ear.
“Cum, you greedy pup.”
Yunho moans at your growling, deep voice, shivering as his body gives out and cums. However you’re not slowing your thrusts once until your own thighs quiver, sinking teeth into Yunho's shoulder when you lean down, cumming. Panting, the two of you fall onto the bed. You don't bother pulling out, cuddling Yunho from behind, letting the older boy warm the strap, kissing the back of Yunho’s neck and reassuring him that he did amazingly well. Love confessions getting lost between kisses and giggles. You finally pull out, smiling as Yunho moans, the boy giving you puppy eyes as he whines from feeling empty. Pressing kisses all over his face, telling him to let you clean up, Yunho pouting and grabbing you by the wrist. You’re a bit shocked by the sudden movement but fall into a bigger shock as Yunho presses your fingers against his now gaping hole, pouting with the biggest puppy eyes you’ve ever seen.
“Please, master, keep me full.”
And who would be the biggest idiot to tell this puppy no?

ELVIS MASTERLIST // SONG LINK // HALLOWEEN MASTERLIST
The suite was quiet as you entered, almost perfectly still just as your husband had left it. The curtains were closed though you doubted they’d even been opened today and the air conditioning was on making the room a crisp sixty-eight degrees. It made you shiver. After all, you had spent weeks back at home alone getting used to being in rooms that didn’t feel like a meat locker. Still, as the goosebumps formed on your flesh and the scent of his cologne hit your nostrils you were happy to be there. As you moved through the room you noticed your suitcase had already made it upstairs and though you knew you only had a small amount of time to get downstairs before Elvis went back on for his second show you didn’t find yourself rushing. No, even though you were happy to be reunited after weeks apart you wanted to at least look presentable so you heaved your suitcase up onto the bed so that you could rifle through it. However you had only managed to pull a couple of items out when you heard the door open and expecting it to be one of the boys you turned around ready to tell them you’d not be long. Yet when you looked around you found it wasn’t one of the boys at all, it was another woman, one you didn’t recognise.
She crept in, straightening up once she turned around and found you watching her, a blush on her sun-kissed cheeks.
‘Oh sorry,’ she mumbled, ‘I didn’t know anyone was in here.’
‘It’s fine. Can I help you?’ you replied.
‘No, it’s um nothing,’ she said dropping her gaze to the floor as she ran a hand through her blown-out brunette locks, ‘it’s fine I was just-’
‘Looking for Elvis?’ you asked which finally made her bright blue eyes snap up to meet yours, guilt swimming through them as they stared back at you.
‘No, uh,’ she said no doubt scrambling for an excuse yet you were quicker, having been down this road before you had learned to distinguish between the two types of women who circulated around your husband. Those who could be trusted and those who couldn’t. And those who couldn’t all seemed to harbour the same actions whenever you were around, watching you with wide-eyed guilt, dropping their gazes, or feigning stupidity or ignorance. Whether it was for your benefit or theirs you weren’t sure but sometimes, when Elvis wasn’t around, you grew tired of it. You grew tired of pretending not to know why a woman would be sneaking into your husband's private suite, not when you knew that there was no way your husband would’ve allowed her to come anywhere near his room tonight. No, he would’ve orchestrated it so that your paths never crossed which meant that her presence here was of her own choosing and so you decided to do away with pretences.
‘So what are you doing in his suite then? You’re aware it’s private, right?’ you challenged which appeared to make something change inside her, whatever coyness she had been going to attempt disappearing, an attitude in its place. Ah, you realised. She’s one of them. As you had become an expert in fishing out the woman who couldn’t be trusted you had also started to put them into categories. There were the innocent ones, the ones who fell for his charm and charisma like you had many moons ago and even though they knew it was wrong they succumbed all the same, guilt coursing through them at the mere thought of you. There were bold ones, ones who weren’t really expecting whatever they had to go anywhere but were making the most of it whilst they still had his attention. They too had guilt but it was different, rationalised that at the end of the day, he still chose you. And then there were ambitious ones, ones that had fallen for him too but now sought to lay claim. Ones that didn’t feel guilty because in their eyes you were the other woman, the one keeping them from what they wanted. These were the worst of the bunch, mostly because they almost always sought to make it sure that you were aware of their presence. Hence why she was standing in front of you. Indisputable proof.
‘If you must know he asked to see me,’ she said, folding her arms across her chest. You eyed her for a minute, musing over the fact you’d probably seen more fabric on one of your daughter's dolls than she was had on right now though she’d probably spent hours agonising over just what to wear. For both yours and Elvis’s attention presumably. As you finally caught her eye you found she was watching you exasperatedly, no doubt wondering why you hadn't torn into her. Wondering how you could remain calm when both of you knew what was going on. Sometimes you wondered how you could do it yourself but to see how your lack of reaction was getting under her skin you continued, the only words that you offered were, ‘Oh sure.’
‘He did,’ she said snappily making you smile.
‘Honey my husband is many things but he isn't stupid,’ you said moving back to your suitcase so that you could continue unpacking. To come here and goad you was one thing, to distract you from the task at hand was another.
‘What's that supposed to mean?’ she asked.
‘It means that he asked me to come to Vegas today. Do you really think he’d risk having another woman in his room?’ you said, turning around as you folded a dress over your arm. Her face went cold then, any trace of guilt wiped from it confirming your suspicions she had chosen to do this off her own back, ‘no. My bet is you thought now was a good time to come and tell me the truth right?’
You waited, looking at her expectantly as you continued to unpack. When she didn’t say anything, you sighed and said, ‘Well go on then. I haven’t got all day to wait around for whatever you’re gonna say.’
‘Elvis and I are dating,’ she said proudly, a smile tugging at her lips.
‘Is that right?’ you asked, finally stopping in your movements to look at her.
‘Yeah it is,’ she said, ‘have been for a while.’
‘Wow,’ you said sarcastically, ‘and uh, let me guess he loves you? Promised you the world you and you're just here to let me know before it all gets outta hand?’
‘It’s the right thing to do,’ she said.
‘And is dropping your panties for a married man also the right thing to do?’ you asked. You refused to show your irritation outwardly but it didn’t half stick in your craw whenever they laid on the martyr act. The girls-girl only looking out for your best interests, like they had been thinking of you and your family when they’d let him talk his way into their beds.
‘Look I didn’t have to come here. I didn’t have to tell you,’ she started making your irritation crash like a wave inside you, finally seeping out into your tone.
‘Oh but you wanted to right?’ you challenged, ‘that’s why you came looking for me when you knew I’d be here alone. Let me guess you’re just letting me know so I can plan ahead. Bow out gracefully, right?’
‘It’s better than being dumped,’ she scoffed.
‘True,’ you said, ‘but then again that would mean me allowing someone to take what's mine. And I can tell you now that'll happen over my dead body.’
‘He doesn’t love you anymore,’ she snapped.
‘Is that right?’ you mused, genuinely trying not to laugh. You knew it wasn’t funny, the idea of your husband lying beside this twenty-something and filling her head with the idea they had a future yet you couldn’t help but laugh. Because they fell for it every time.
You knew how of course. It was that same silver tongue that had gotten you into his bed, the ring on your finger, the marriage that you had. He had wormed his way into your life the way he did to theirs but there were differences because for all the promises he gave them, he gave you twenty more. For all the times he told them he loved them he made sure you were loved in every way possible. It wasn’t exactly painless, the idea that he could flout your marriage vows so easily would always hurt, but you had learned to deal with it because you knew that they didn’t mean anything, not really. Because time and time again you were the one he chose. Maybe you were a fool to let him. To turn a blind eye to it all. But when it was over, when he’d had his fill of whatever contact or affection he needed he always came back, more the man you married than before.
‘He told me he just wants out,’ she sneered, ‘he just doesn’t want to pay you your money.’
‘Honey,’ you said knowing full well your tone was fully laced with condescension but unable to care, ‘if you believe that you’re dumber than a box of rocks.’
She scoffed at that, her mouth falling into a tight scowl that made it look foreign against her pretty features. You sighed before you said, ‘you think I’m lying? More to the point do you really think you’re the first?’
At that her face flicked with uncertainty, your words calling into question whatever she had assumed to be fact, casting doubt she hadn't anticipated. It was cruel really and if she hadn't been so cocky, so determined to ruin your life, you might’ve even taken pity on her. After all, she was just a kid, one whose head had been filled with nonsense that she was too naïve to see couldn’t possibly be the truth.
‘Do you really think that if he wanted to go he wouldn’t just leave? That if he was so unhappy with me I’d force him to stay? He knows that if he doesn’t want to be in this marriage I sure as hell wont force him to be. And I'm sure whatever money he has to pay for our family he could earn back in a minute,’ you said. Again you watched as pain flicked across her features, guilt finally settling with her at the mention of your kids. Yet you didn’t let up. You refused to, ‘he has no intention of leaving me and whatever yarn he spins to get you into bed is between you and him. Hell darlin’, he’s probably as surprised as I am that it actually works.’
At that you offered a small laugh one that made her brows knit together as she tried to hold back whatever emotions she was feeling in front of you. It almost made you feel sorry for her. Almost. Yet you still needed to make sure she got the picture.
‘Elvis loves me and why his head may get turned every now and then he always comes crawling back, promising it won’t happen again until the next young thing in a tight skirt walks by,’ you said, ‘now a weaker woman would probably give up on him but I’m not weak and I sure as hell ain't gonna step aside and watch you ruin my marriage you hear me?’
She stayed quiet, that scowl still on her face though it looked as though it was holding back whatever she was scared to let burst out of her in front of you. Whether that anger or tears you weren’t sure. If anything you didn’t really care, you had said your piece. Though for whatever reason you felt the tiniest amount of compassion swill in you. After all, you were a seasoned veteran in the game of loving Elvis Presley, didn’t it fall to you to show her the ropes?
‘I will however offer you some advice,’ you said finally turning away from her and continuing with what you were doing before she came in, a slight act of mercy that allowed her to release the breath she hadn't realised she'd been holding. You heard it come out, shaky and pathetic, before her voice cut it off, her words coming out snarky as she replied, ‘Oh yeah, what's that?’
‘Don’t tell him you came here tonight,’ you said and as you pulled out a stunning blue dress, deciding that would be what you would wear at tomorrow night's show you heard her scoff.
‘Why afraid it’ll make him kick you to the kerb?’ she said, the scowl she had perfected back in full force as you turned around. You didn’t bother moving towards her, instead, you moved to the closet, sliding the door back until your husband’s vast wardrobe was on show, your dress slotting in perfectly next to his clothes, an action that made her eye twitch with irritation.
‘Oh honey,’ you said with a condescending smile, ‘it’s not me I’m scared for.’
And with that final remark she stormed from the room, slamming the door so hard behind her that the sliding door of the closet rattled in its tracks. You however couldn’t bring yourself to offer more than an eyeroll, her actions reminding you of your daughter who had a tendency to pitch a similar style of fit whenever she didn’t get her own way though of course she had the excuse of being three years old. You knew you should probably let it bother you. That the idea of another woman coming to tell you your husband didn’t want you any more should shake you to your core but it didn’t. You refused to let it because if you did it now you'd have to let it every damn time he conceded to be weak. And you refused to be weak too.
After that you busied yourself with unpacking and though you did head downstairs you made sure it was when Elvis was on stage, after all, there were things more interesting to you tonight than your husband's performance. Like finding out just who the girl was. That was how you’d come to find him on stage with her, laughing and joking as if nothing had even happened. And in an instant any thought you’d had about playing nice left your body because you had meant what you said. You weren’t going to stand aside and let her take him but now you were actively going to ensure she didn’t have the chance.
That thought came to you again later that night as you heard him call your name, the bathroom door opening as he said, ‘Lor, ya in here?’
‘In here,’ you called listening as he moved into the bathroom, clothes dropping to the floor as he went before you finally heard the glass door click open and then shut as his naked body slid in behind you, his arms ensnaring your waist.
‘Hi there,’ he mumbled as his lip met your neck.
‘Hi,’ you breathed sinking into him as he peppered kisses along your shoulder before you felt his hand snake down your slippery skin cupping your sex which caused you to shriek, ‘Elvis!’
‘I missed ya,’ he said as if it was your own fault not to have expected it.
‘I can see,’ you giggled wiggling your ass against his cock that was already growing rigid against you.
‘Joe told me you got here in between shows,’ he said his arousal not yet pressing enough that he felt the need to forgo chit-chat, ‘how come ya didn’t come down?
‘Oh I did but you know how it is when you haven’t seen folks in a while. I ended up bumping into people and we just got chatting,’ you said. That wasn’t untrue. You had spoken to some people, using carefully selected questions to get the information you craved without alerting them to what you were up to. You see you hadn’t been lying when you had told her to be careful. After all, you had done this dance a hundred times before and you knew all the steps. You knew if you challenged Elvis about his behaviour it would only get ugly. No, you needed to be smart. To orchestrate the situation so you got what you wanted but he was the one who felt like he had made the decision. And that was a skill you’d become an expert at.
‘Are they more important than me?’ he said and for a moment you were glad you were facing away from him, your expression liable to give you away as you thought about how he prioritised people in his life.
‘Of course not,’ you said, ‘but I knew I’d have you all to myself soon so I figured I’d play nice. Let them have you while they can.’
‘Ever the diplomat,’ he mused, his lips moving back to your neck for a moment. You knew now was the time to broach it, with him happy and pliant coming off the buzz of the show and the excitement of having you back. Yet you needed to do it carefully and so as he kissed you, you picked at your nails, removing the non-existent dirt from under them as you said, ‘but it wasn’t all bad. Actually, I got talking to one of your band members.’
‘Yeah?’ he asked, stopping his actions and resting his chin on your shoulder as he watched you carefully.
‘Yeah I don’t think we’ve met before though,’ you said, ‘they must be new.’
‘Yeah, there’s a couple of new faces around. We lucked onto some good talent for this season,’ he agreed.
‘Mmm, pretty too,’ you said, and though your words were casual you felt him stiffen, ‘I think her name is Kathy?’
‘Oh?’ he asked airily and though you could feel the heat of his blue eyes watching you you kept your face casual.
‘We had a nice chat,’ you said, ‘she told me you’ve really made this gig special.’
‘That right?’ he asked flatly.
‘Mmmhmm,’ you said.
‘Lori,’ he said ruefully.
‘I just think it’s a shame,’ you said continuing as though he hadn't spoken.
‘A shame?’ he asked confused.
‘Yeah well I know I said I didn’t manage to see the show before I came back up here but I caught some of it and well to think of her stuck being backing vocals when she could be great on her own is just a shame. Don’t you think?’ you asked.
‘Yeah,’ he said quietly, ‘yeah you’re right.’
‘I sure think so,’ you agreed. You could feel him hesitate behind you, no doubt trying to figure out exactly what you knew or whether to let it go but after a minute he pulled back and you turned to look at him for the first time since he had gotten in.
‘Everything alright?’ you asked with a frown that forced him to fake a smile and nod.
‘Yeah, I’m gonna get out okay?’ he said.
‘Okay,’ you said, placing a wet hand on his chest that he grabbed, taking it to his lips so he could kiss your fingertips. A feat that brought a genuine smile to your face.
‘Do you want food?’ he asked.
‘Yes please,’ you said.
‘Okay,’ he said leaning in to kiss you properly before he said, ‘take your time. I’ll order for us both.’
‘Okay,’ you smiled.
And then he was gone, moving from the room at lightning speed only just managing to throw a towel around his waist as he headed to the phone, yanking the receiver from its cradle before he punched in the number he wanted rather harshly. It didn’t take long for the line to connect, a sweet young voice saying, ‘hello?’
‘You told my wife?’ he asked in an angry whisper, listening to Kathy as she scrambled to sit up.
‘It wasn’t like that-’ she protested.
‘What the hell did you say to her?’ he snapped.
‘Not much I promise,’ she exclaimed.
‘How could you go behind my back like that?’ he said angrily.
‘But I thought-’
‘What that if you meddled in my business I’d just fall into line? That I’d just up and leave my wife because you’d decided you’d had enough-’
‘No of course not!’ she cried.
‘Because that’s not how this shit works you hear me? And if you don’t get that then maybe I was wrong about you,’ he spat.
‘Elvis,’ she whispered but he was on a roll. Too angry to bother listening.
‘You know what? We’re done,’ he snapped.
‘Elvis-’ he heard her whimper but he had already slammed the phone back onto the hook anger bubbling through him until he heard you say, ‘was that room service?’
‘What?’ he asked turning to find you standing in the bathroom doorway, unaware as to how much you had heard though on the off chance it might have been nothing he said, ‘uh no… the uh line was busy.’
‘Shoot,’ you frowned.
‘It’s okay,’ he said, ‘I’ll call down in a minute.’
You smiled and nodded, padding into the room and climbing into bed dressed in the nightie you had donned in the time since he had left the bathroom. Elvis watched you, wondering how you could be so calm when he was sure that you knew if not all at least some of it. As you offered him a sweet smile he felt his heart tug, the guilt creeping in as it did every time. He moved to throw his towel on a chair in the corner, changing into the pyjamas you’d lovingly laid out for him like the good wife you were. As he slipped in beside you, allowing you to cuddle into him for the first time in weeks, that thought consumed him.
He didn’t know why he did it. How his head could get turned time and time again when you were all he could’ve ever asked for. You were the perfect wife, the perfect mother, a friend, a lover and yet he never felt satisfied. Time and time again he’d think that the grass was greener only to find that they weren’t you. And so he’d come crawling back, begging for forgiveness. At least he used to, now it was this complicated dance the two of you did. The one where you pretended not to know what he had been doing so long as he nipped it in the bud when you asked. It was a flawed system but it was one that seemed to hurt you less. And if he couldn’t stop himself from hurting you, he’d at least try and make it somewhat better. He knew he was weak but he could give you that much. Which is why when you looked at him with knowing eyes and words that hovered around accusation but never landed he knew it was time to move on.
‘You know I’ve been thinkin’,’ he said clearing his throat which made you look up towards him, ‘about what you said.'
‘About what baby?’ you said laughing to yourself how you made fun of his floozies for feigning innocence when you were better at it than any of them.
‘Ka-’ he said stumbling over her name and instead opting for, ‘my backing singer.’
‘Oh?’ you asked, your fingers playing with his chest hair as you waited for him to tell you what you knew was coming.
‘Yeah, you’re right. She’s talented…maybe she’d be better tryin’ to get her own solo thing goin’,’ he said.
‘Oh no doubt,’ you agreed.
‘Maybe I’ll give one of the talent scouts in LA a call tomorrow,’ he said hesitantly, ‘help her out ya know.’
‘Why aren’t you sweet,’ you mused, your nervous heart finally settling as everything clicked into place. You knew it was harsh. You knew that you should’ve just been satisfied with him breaking up with her but as you pictured her smug face, the one that had expected you to roll over you couldn’t help but smile.
‘I just wanna help,’ Elvis said.
‘Well I’m sure it will. Sometimes people just need a helping hand you know,’ you said.
‘Yeah, I know.’
Women like you they're a dime a dozen you can buy 'em anywhere,
For you to get to him I'd have to move over and I'm gonna stand right here,
It'll be over my dead body so get out while you can,
Cause you ain't woman enough to take my man.

Day #4106
You can love a character and still admit when they're wrong… I love ralph but can still acknowledge his flaws (he has none) and hold him accountable for his wrongdoings (he's never done anything wrong in his life) and call him out for his actions (which are always correct)

So is the Life of a Pirate (6/?)
Series: One Piece
Chapter: 6/?
Word Count: 4106
Rating: T
Pairing(s): Sanji x OC (Reader)
A dalliance six years ago has a funny way of catching up to Sanji when the Straw Hats stop to restock the ship.
a/n: It's been a while, huh? Yeah...About that. I had other stuff going on. I've been meaning to post a new chapter for the last week or so, but here. Have a new chapter. It's special just for you.
[1][2][3][4][5]
Cordelia and Sanji had a marketplace to skim through.  It wasn’t an overly full marketplace, but it still had everything they needed.  Meats, vegetables, spices, staples.  Everything they could’ve wanted to make dinner later.  Everyone in the marketplace knew Cordelia.  Some vendors were even kind enough to offer her a discount on a regular basis.  She was but a single mother trying to do what was best for her son.  However, the gentleman at her side was not the usual gentleman with her, so naturally, there were some stares.
“Um, Cordelia?” Sanji wondered, “Is there a reason why they’re all looking at us?”
“I don’t get out much, Sanji,” Cordelia pointed out, grabbing a beautiful assortment of fresh fruits, “They’re going to see a new man at my side and get curious.”
And the assorted whispers finally caught up to her as a small group of women surrounded her.  It’s not like Cordelia didn’t know them.  Beniville Bay wasn’t big by any stretch of the imagination.  A redhead stepped out from the group, “Cordelia…”
“Hi, Danica,” Cordelia smiled sweetly, “Did you need me for something?”
“Just some rumors circling that I’d like your clarification on,” Danica glanced over her shoulder at Sanji, who was in the middle of negotiations for a sack of rice, “Are you busy right now?”
“Kind of,” Cordelia pointed out, “I’m in the middle of my shopping.”
“And,” Danica wondered, “Do you have anyone watching Ash?”
“Of course,” Cordelia nodded, “I’m not just going to let my four year old go around on his own.”
“Then, I don’t see why you couldn’t come sit in my chair for a while,” Danica offered, “Free of charge.”
“What’s happening?” Sanji rejoined Cordelia at her side.
“Oh, nothing,” Cordelia glared through Danica, who sat back with a massive grin on her face, “Just a little fishing expedition.  Nothing more.  Nothing less.”
“Hi,” Danica nudged Cordelia aside, taking Sanji’s hand, “I’m Danica.  I run the salon down the fairway.”
“It’s nice to meet you, Danica,” Sanji mustered up a slightly uncomfortable smile.
“And I was trying to offer Cordelia a spot in my chair for the afternoon out of the goodness out of my heart,” Danica tattled, hoping Sanji would be able to help her out, “But the girl’s too stubborn to take it.”
“Uh-huh,” Cordelia knew better.  It wasn’t that she had a problem with Danica.  Far from it.  They were perfectly ok.  But that didn’t mean she wasn’t wise to her ways.
“You make me out to be such a monster,” Danica scoffed.
“Go ahead, Cordelia,” Sanji insisted, falling into Danica’s charms, “I got all of this handled.”
“Are you sure?” Cordelia tried to wiggle her way out of Danica’s claws, but Sanji wasn’t making it easy, “I thought you said you’d need my help.”
“I got it,” Sanji assured her, blissfully unaware of the hole he was digging for her, “Besides, you worked your ass off this morning and you deserve a little pampering.  Go on.  I’ll finish up here.”
As much as it pained her, Cordelia caved, “Alright.  I won’t be gone long.”
“Take all the time you need,” Sanji swore in his heart he was doing something nice.  Yet Cordelia knew better.  And she could feel the devious grin on Danica’s face growing by the second.
“Wonderful.”
In that moment, Cordelia knew she’d kill Sanji the second she saw him again.  Sure, she might have been worried about having to see Nora and have to talk to her about Sanji, but Danica was worse.  What may have come off as a harmless little pampering would be much worse than anything Cordelia could’ve imagined.  There was a reason why she said it was a fishing expedition.
“Alright, Cordelia,” Danica brushed off her chair while all her other cohorts sat around her, “Talk.”
“Ok,” Cordelia knew how to deal with these women, “How are you, Danica?  How are things?”
“You know that’s not what I’m looking for, honey,” Danica pushed her along, “The pretty, leggy blonde.  What’s with him?”
“He’s a friend of mine,” Cordelia told her, “What about him?”
“He’s just a friend?” Danica smirked, “That’s good to know.”
“No,” Cordelia put her foot down, knowing that was the nail in the coffin.  Getting defensive over Sanji would give her away lickety-split, “He’s a special friend.  He’s someone I’ve known for a long time and you’re not getting anywhere near him, Danica.  Just get that thought out of your head.”
“Come on, Cordelia,” Danica twisted her fingers up in her hair, “Look at him.  There’s no way you’re just letting him go by the wayside.”
“Trust me,” Cordelia smiled a bit, “I know what that ride is like.  That’s not something you want to ride too much.  That’s how you end up seasick, if you know what I mean.”
“Lucky you,” Danica gasped, “So…Obvious question…What’s he got?”
“What do you mean?” Cordelia knew what she meant, but she needed to hear the words come out of the woman’s mouth.
“Come on, Cordy,” Danica gave her a nudge, “You know what I mean.  What’s he packing?  Because there’s no way he’s that pretty and well-endowed.  I’m just curious.”
“Danica!” Cordelia squealed, “No!  I am not telling you that!  That’s not your business!”
“Fine, fine,” Danica backed off, “I’m sorry.  I see I’ve overstepped some boundaries here.”
“SOME?”
“Alright,” she cringed, “All of them.  I’m sorry.  But you need to relax a little, yeah?  I won’t ask about how big he is again.”
“Thank you…” Cordelia started to relax.
“But there is something between you two, Cordelia,” Danica assumed, “You two seemed awfully close in the marketplace.”
“We are,” Cordelia smiled softly, “That’s for sure.  There’s something between us, but neither one of us can put our finger on what it is.  Is it love?  Is it lust?  Is it something that should stay casual?  I mean…considering where it got us, I don’t think we can call us casual anymore.”
“Where did it get you?” Danica latched on and she refused to let go.
And Cordelia knew she was screwed.  Or she just needed to give Danica a different bone to chew on, “It got me him.  And he’s going with Ash and me on our yearly trip.”
“You lucky girl!” Danica awed, twisting the ends of Cordelia’s hair up in her fingertips, gently snipping away at the dead ones, “You get a romantic voyage at sea with him and we end up stuck here.”
“Trust me,” Cordelia let out a heavy sigh, “I need that romantic voyage.  We both do.”
“What?” Danica picked her chin up, no longer coming from a place of cattiness and an insatiable thirst for gossip, but genuine concern, “Cordelia?  What’s wrong, honey?  What happened?”
“Nothing bad,” Cordelia clarified.  Although, she wasn’t sure how honest she was being, “Just…some mistakes were made on both sides the last time we saw each other and…I don’t know.  We’ve both forgiven each other for it, but…I don’t know.  I don’t know if it’s something we can make up for.  And I know he’ll try his damnedest to, but…Like I said, I just…I don’t know.  There are a lot of uncertainties here and I got Ash to think about, too.  I don’t know if we’d be able to do something long term.  Not when he’s out at sea so much.  I don’t want to put the weight of my world on his shoulders, you know?”
“Maybe that’s something you need to ask him first,” Danica suggested, “Let him have a little hand in that decision, too.  And if he’s right for you, he’ll take it.”
“And if he doesn’t…?” Cordelia didn’t even want to give that a thought.  Having Sanji back in her life has been too wonderful.  She missed him and the thought of having to miss him like that again made her queasy.
“Then, it wasn’t meant to be,” Danica draped her arms over Cordelia’s shoulders, “You’re worried about it too much, sweetheart.  He seems like a decent guy.  I mean, he was more than happy to let you come here.  Hell, I bet he’d be alright with taking Ash, too.  He is going on your annual trip with both of you, isn’t he?  I bet he would take some of that weight off your shoulders.”
“I hope so,” Cordelia let out a heavy sigh, “God, I hope so.  Because I really do love him, Danica.  I don’t want him to go.  When we come back from that trip, I don’t know what I’m going to do with myself.  But I also don’t want to hold him back.  He’s got hopes and dreams of his own, too.  You know what I mean?”
“I know just what you mean,” Danica agreed, “But it’ll be alright.  Like I said, if he’s willing to sacrifice, then he’s willing to sacrifice.  That’s not your decision.  That’s his.  And he’s allowed to make that.  Just like he’s allowed to choose to leave and to run off and follow his dreams.  I’m sure you have your own, too.”
“I do…” Nowhere in those dreams was becoming a mother, though.  Now, I just want Ash and me comfortable.  Sure, in a perfect world, we’d have Sanji, too, but…I don’t know.  Could I do that to him?  Would I even be the one doing that to him?  Am I just wrestling with this for zero reason?
“Well, honey,” Danica kissed the top of her head, “As much as I’d love to string you along some more, how about we get to what you really want out of me?  Because I know you’d be coming in some time before you leave anyway.”
“Yes, please.” That was enough to put a smile back on Cordelia’s face.
While she and Danica passed the time together, Sanji was on his way back to the ship.  He had plenty of supplies and some of the most beautiful fresh produce the West Blue had to offer.  He had the whole kitchen to himself.  For however long he had, he would have his peace.  His serenity.  His mental happy place.
BANG!
Until his peace was gone.  One of the cannons on the upper deck had gone off and a massive splash went off in the sea.  Immediately, Sanji ran up to the upper deck to find the culprits of the cannon fire.  Luffy, Usopp, and Ash stood on the upper deck, cheering at the demise of their target.  A spire of rock that stood off in the distance was reduced to barely an island.
“What are you doing?!” Sanji squealed.
“Hi, Sanji!” Ash chirped, “We shot a rock!”
“Yes, you did, Ash,” Sanji glared at Ash’s babysitters, “My question is WHY?”
“Because it was fun!” Luffy beamed in the way that only Luffy could, “You want to try it, Sanji?  It is a lot of fun.”
“No, I don’t want to try it!” Sanji screeched, “Where are Zoro and Nami?  Aren’t they supposed to be watching you three?”
“Zoro went to go find snacks,” Luffy explained, “An hour went by and we didn’t hear from him, so Nami went after him.”
“And we told her we were going back to the ship anyway,” Usopp added.
“Why didn’t you go with Nami?” Sanji scolded them, “She probably could’ve used the help anyway.  And I’m sure Ash knows Beniville Bay like the back of his hand.  Why didn’t you think to go with Nami?”
“Because we knew she could find Zoro herself,” Luffy figured, “And we did come back to the ship.  Ash wanted a tour.  And when we got to the upper deck, we thought we’d fire off the cannon.”
“AND WHY WOULD YOU FIRE OFF THE CANNON?!”
“Because it’s fun!” Luffy held his face in his hands, “I thought we just went over that.”
“Luffy…” Sanji got quiet.  Sanji got scarily quiet, “In what world did you think it was a good idea to take a four year old up to the upper decks and…Usopp…”
“Yeah, Sanji?” Usopp started to sweat.
“Cover Ash’s ears,” Sanji ordered, “Because some not nice words are about to be used and he doesn’t need to hear them.”
“Got it,” Usopp covered Ash’s ears just as he was asked and braced himself for the worst.
“Why the fuck did you think it was going to be a good fucking idea to bring a four year old to fire off the fucking cannon, you idiot?!” Sanji’s eyes turned red, “Are you fucking insane?!  Do you know what kind of damage that could’ve done to his hearing?!  That could’ve ruptured his eardrums!  That’s pain I wouldn’t wish on anyone let alone a four year old!”
“Sorry, Sanji,” Luffy backed off, “I didn’t know you’d be so mad about it.”
“Mad?” Sanji got quiet again, “You think I’m mad?  Wait until you see Cordelia.  You think I’m mad…She’s going to be pissed.  And that’s not something you ever want to be on the receiving end of.”
“Really?” Luffy looked at him strangely, “I don’t see Cordelia as being an angry person.”
“She’s not,” Sanji agreed, “Most days.  But if you do something just the right way to set her off?  Oh…Luffy…My dear Luffy…It was nice knowing you.  Usopp, you can uncover his ears now.”
“Okie dokie,” Usopp was a little stunned by Sanji’s tirade.  Lucky you, Ash.  You didn’t have to hear any of that.  Even I’m clutching the pearls a little.
“Ash,” Sanji brought himself back down to earth to the best of his ability.  For the sake of the baby, “You’re going to kill the rest of the afternoon with me.  How does that sound?”
“Really?” Ash’s eyes lit up.
Which, of course, made Sanji’s heart skip a beat.  And a little smile returned to his face, “Really.  It’ll kind of be like this morning when we were making breakfast for Mama.  And eventually, Zoro.”
“What about Zoro?” Zoro and Nami returned to deck.
“Don’t worry about it,” Sanji brushed him off.
“What happened?” Nami wondered, “We heard cannon fire in the marketplace, but just the one.  We weren’t under attack or anything, were we?”
“No,” Sanji scooped Ash up and sat him on his hip, “Luffy?  Care to tell Nami what you and Usopp were up to?”
“Hey,” Usopp begged, “Don’t bring me into it!  That was Luffy’s idea!”
“That you could’ve stopped,” Sanji pointed out, “But you opted against it.”
“Sanji…” Ash asked, his voice soft and slightly scared, “Am I in trouble?”
“No,” Sanji promised him, “You’re ok.  They weren’t your responsibility.  But they should’ve known better.  And when Mama gets here and she’s not happy with either of them, none of that is your fault either.  Ok?”
“Ok,” Ash smiled again, “Can we go play in the kitchen now?”
“Absolutely,” Sanji put him down on the floor, “I’ll be there in a sec.  Do you know where to go?”
“Not really.”
“Come on, Ash,” Zoro insisted, “I’ll help you find the kitchen.”
“If that’s not the blind leading the blind,” Sanji scoffed.
“What was that?” Zoro glared over at Sanji.
“Zoro,” Nami stopped him, “You were trying to go to the marketplace that was maybe a couple hundred feet away from us on the beach and you ended up on the other side of the island.  Sanji has a point.”
“The kitchen’s where the sake’s kept,” Zoro pointed out, “I know where the kitchen is.”
“Zoro…?” Ash pulled on his pants leg.
“Yes, Ash?”
“Can I ride on your shoulders?”
“Of course, you can,” Zoro got down and let Ash get up on his shoulders.  And all of a sudden, Ash stood eight feet tall, “Kitchen?”
“Kitchen!” Ash looked out on the deck and saw a familiar face coming up the ramp, “Hi, Mama!”
“Hi, baby,” Cordelia looked strangely at Zoro, “Is there a reason why you grew so quickly?”
“Because I would die for this kid,” Zoro confessed, “Next question.”
“Where’s Sanji?” Cordelia asked.
“Upper deck, yelling at Luffy and Usopp.”
“What did they do?” she giggled, “What could they have possibly done to make Sanji mad?”
“They took me to shoot the cannon!” Ash didn’t realize what he was doing.  He didn’t know he was throwing Luffy and Usopp to the wolves.  But Cordelia’s face went completely blank.
“Did they?” Cordelia’s giggle was gone, “Interesting.  Zoro…Take Ash inside.”
“Yes, ma’am,” Zoro wasn’t going to stick around for that aftermath.
“Hey, Zoro?” Ash ducked as they stepped through the doorway, “Is Mama going to kill Luffy and Usopp?”
“Kill them?” Zoro thought it over, “Probably not.  Maim?  That’s a possibility.”
“Is she going to yell at them like Sanji did?”
“No,” Zoro assured him, putting him back down on the floor, “I don’t think she’s going to yell at them like Sanji did.”
“YOU THOUGHT IT WAS A GOOD IDEA TO BRING MY FOUR YEAR OLD BABY UP HERE TO SHOOT THE CANNONS?!  WHAT THE HELL WERE YOU THINKING?!”
“It’s going to be worse,” Zoro assumed, “It’s going to be so much worse.  For their sakes, I hope your mama doesn’t have anything sharp on her.”
“Where?” Cordelia snapped, “Where did it sound like a good idea to take someone so young and put them next to HEAVY ARTILLERY?!”
“It’s not that heavy, Cordelia…” Usopp cowered, “I mean, sure, it’s still a cannon, but it’s not like it’s one of the big, Marine grade cannons.”
“Usopp,” Cordelia growled, “I mean this with all the love in the world, but right now, I highly suggest shutting the fuck up.”
“Yes, ma’am,” Usopp went silent.
“Nothing bad happened, Cordelia,” Luffy settled her, “It’s not like he got hurt or anything.  None of us did.  All we did was set off the cannon once.  No big deal.”
“Luffy,” Cordelia got quiet.  Scary quiet, “Don’t.  Ever.  Fire the cannons.  With my baby standing next to it.  Again.  Or there will be severe consequences.”
“Like what?” he wondered innocently.
“Sanji,” Cordelia asked, “You know all the poisons that are completely tasteless, don’t you?”
“I know a few,” Sanji admitted, “Why?  What did you have in mind?”
“For now?  Nothing.  But,” Cordelia got in Luffy’s face, “I might want to try a few if some dumb shit like this ever happens again.  Do you understand?”
“Sorry, Cordelia,” Luffy backed down, “I didn’t think it would be that big of a problem.  But look.  He’s no worse for wear.”
“DON’T LET IT HAPPEN AGAIN!”
“Yes, ma’am,” Luffy winced, “I don’t know why you’re yelling at us.  Sanji already put us over a barrel.”
“He did?” Cordelia looked over at him.
“Yeah,” Luffy nodded, “It wasn’t pretty.  And he said you were going to be a whole lot worse than he was.  If you ask me, you were both pretty scary.  If I didn’t know any better, I’d think he was Ash’s mom instead of you.”
“No,” Cordelia assured him, “I was there when Ash was born.  I gave birth to him.  But thank you, Sanji.”
“No need to thank me,” Sanji brushed me off, “Come on.  I’m pretty sure Zoro’s taking Ash to the other side of Beniville Bay.”
“Actually, no,” Cordelia chirped, “I just ran into Zoro.  He had Ash on his shoulders and by the looks of it, they were almost to the kitchen.”
“Really?” Sanji gasped, “He actually…You know what?  That tracks.  He did say sake was in the kitchen.  He’d be able to find the kitchen.”
“Bless him,” Cordelia held her face in her hands, “So, what should we do now?”
“I think,” Sanji took Cordelia’s hand, “You and I should go into the kitchen.  Ash and I are going to make dinner.  You, my dear, beautiful Cordelia, are going to sit back and watch.  If you even so much as add salt to boiling water, I will have words with you.  And they will not be nice ones.”
“Bullshit,” Cordelia wrapped herself around his arm, “You wouldn’t do that in front of Ash.  I know better.”
“You seem to think so.”
“I know so.”
“Well, you’re right,” Sanji folded like a cheap suit, “But seriously, Cordelia.  Don’t worry about it.  I got it handled.”
“Ok,” Cordelia followed Sanji down to the kitchen and made herself comfortable at the banquette.
“Mama,” Ash nestled up next to her, “Are you going to kill Usopp and Luffy?”
“No, baby,” Cordelia pushed his hair out of his face, “I’m not going to kill Usopp and Luffy.  They know what they did.  I took care of it.  They got yelled at a little.  Everything’s fine now.”
“Good,” Ash smiled, “Because it was really cool to see that cannon go off.”
“I heard it go off while I was sitting with Danica earlier,” Cordelia thought back, “And I could only say one thing.”
“What?”
“Don’t let that be Luffy and Usopp,” Cordelia giggled to herself, “But I think deep down, I knew.  I just knew.  Those morons had something to do with it.  And you want to know something, Ash?”
“What?” Ash looked up at his mother, hanging onto her every word.
“I don’t really think I’m mad at them for what they did,” Cordelia admitted, “Because truth be told, I missed this.  I missed having to clean up after Luffy and Usopp’s messes and shenanigans.  Sure, I was mad because you got tangled up in it and I’m sure they didn’t give you any hearing protection.”
“No,” Ash shook his head, “But they did tell me to cover my ears.”
“Well, that’s something,” Cordelia let out a little sigh of relief.
“You know, Cordelia,” Sanji teased her, “You might want to be careful.  I’d almost think you liked hanging around them.”
“I miss this life,” Cordelia fell onto the table, “I miss it so much.  I miss being out at sea.  I miss being part of a crew.  And I can’t wait for tomorrow morning.”
“Why?” Ash wondered.
“Because we’re leaving tomorrow, Ash,” Cordelia reminded him, “We’re leaving for the East Blue tomorrow morning and we have yet to pack.”
“We should probably pack, Mama.”
“Thank you, Asher.  You’re a great help.”
“You can go ahead and go pack, Cordelia,” Sanji insisted, “You know, if you get everything packed, I’ll have dinner done by the time you get back.  And if you just bring your bags here, I’m sure you and Ash could just…Stay here tonight.  Since Luffy kind of owes you one, I’m sure you could get anything you want out of him, including, but not limited to, vital organs.  So, get your fill while you can.”
“I’d love to,” Cordelia smiled, “And I’m sure there’s plenty of room for us on board, isn’t there?”
“If all else fails,” Sanji smirked a bit, “You can sleep in my bed.  I wouldn’t mind.”
“That’s so sweet of you,” Cordelia knew where Sanji was trying to go with it, but she couldn’t help herself, “It wouldn’t be the first time Ash and I have shared a bed, but if you’re so willing to take the floor, Sanji, your generosity will not go unrewarded.”
“I…” Sanji let it go, “You know what?  I know better.”
“Not in front of the baby?” she nudged him along.
“Not in front of the baby,” Sanji pulled out a beef brisket and started mixing spices together, “Go.  Ash and I can handle dinner.  You can handle packing.”
“Alright,” Cordelia got up from the table and pressed a kiss to Sanji’s cheek, “Play nice, boys.”
“We will, Mama,” Ash promised.
“You’re not the one I worry about, baby,” Cordelia kissed the top of his head, “Just stay away from Luffy and Usopp for a bit, k?”
“Ok!”
“Love you!” Cordelia headed back to the deck and found Zoro and Nami off to the side with a set of tiles in front of them.  They all looked hand painted with bamboo and circles and different characters on them.
“So,” Nami looked them over, “All I have to do is make four sets and a pair and win?”
“That’s right,” Zoro nodded, “It’s fairly simple to learn.  Your sets would be getting all the characters or all the dragons or all the bamboo tiles or all the winds.  And if you get a pair of either of those on top of the sets, you won.”
“What are you two doing?” Cordelia looked on.
“I’m teaching Nami how to play mahjong,” Zoro told her, “Why?”
“Because I’m about to go back to my house,” Cordelia leaned against the railing, “I left Ash with Sanji, so we should be good.  But don’t let Luffy and Usopp-”
“Do anything stupid again,” Nami and Zoro cut her off.
“Thank you,” Cordelia kissed Zoro’s head, “I appreciate it.”

Idiots. (Rose Lavelle)
Tumblr media
A/N : Another reupload of an old fic! Wrote this one the day that Rose traded to OL Reign and I think it's safe to say she has been killing it over there. Long live the OL Gays <3
Request : R and Rose have been dating for a while and thought everyone on the team already knew because they never tried to hide it, but the whole team had no idea because Rose is so unemotional and R is just touchy with everyone. So one day Rose could just casually call R her girlfriend or something and doesn’t think anything of it until the team is just like “wait what?”
Word Count: Honestly, I’m scared to find out. -> 4106
It wasn’t unusual to find you cuddled up to your teammates. Something that all of the girls had accepted since you had joined the team was that your love language was certainly physical touch and many were happy to comply with your random hugs and hand holding. In hindsight, you think that this may be the reason it took them so long to realize that your affections for Rose were different.
“Good morning!” You grinned, bounding into the lounge-turned-meeting room where most of the team had gathered for their morning meeting. The team groaned at your early morning enthusiasm and Sonnett even deemed it necessary to throw a water bottle your way to show her annoyance. With goalie level reflexes, your hand snatched the bottle out of the air and you sent a wink towards the defender who groaned in response.
“How do you have so much energy in the mornings?” Mal, who was laying face down on the floor, asked.
“Yeah, you were literally out until late last night!” Your roommate Ash added. You simply raised an eyebrow at the goalie which sufficiently shut her up and caused a blush to grow on both her and Ali’s cheeks. The action, of course, didn’t go unnoticed by some of your teammates who all began to fake gag at the team’s couple.
“Must be genetics.” You said, giving a small shrug as you laid down on the couch. Or, more accurately, laid down across Rose and Sam’s laps as they were the ones sitting on the couch.
“You’re insufferable.” Rose murmured as she looked down at you with a small smile.
“That’s not what you said last night, Tulip.” Rose blushed as you reached up and booped her nose with your finger, rolling her eyes as she pushed your hand away. Sam laughed but seemingly thought nothing else of the comment as Jill walked into the room to start the game day meeting. You had a hard time paying attention though as Rose’s hands seemed to absentmindedly start playing with your hair. Eyes fluttering shut, you reveled in the rare physical contact as her fingers gently scraped against your scalp.
“Y/N, you with us over there? Jill suddenly asked, and your eyes shot open. As the team turned towards you, the hands that had previously been laced in your hair were placed on your shoulders and shoving you to the ground.
With a yelp, you landed on the carpet of the hotel floor. Hissing slightly at the pain in your shoulder from hitting the floor upper body first, you shot a quick glare up at the short girl who was staring bashfully at her hands. Your teammates were all howling in laughter from your fall and your cheeks were burning bright red at being caught off guard.
“You okay down there, kid?” Carli asked, not laughing like your teammates but definitely trying to hide a smile. Groaning, you pushed yourself up so your back was against the couch and you gave your captain a quick thumbs up as you winced slightly.
“Yup, all good, just hit my shoulder wrong.”
“Good thing you use your feet in the game and not your arms, you’ll be fine.” Kelley’s comment sent the team back into their fits of laughter while you simply rolled your eyes. The defender put her hand over her heart in mock hurt as you flicked her off and turned your attention back to Jill.
“Anyways, as I was saying, the friendly with Spain tomorrow..” As the girls all began to return their attention to Jill, you reached your hand out and pinched Rose’s calf between the pads of your finger. The midfielder jerked her leg away quickly and offered a dismissive tight lipped smile to Sam who was giving her a concerned look.
When Sam looked away, Rose was quick to give you a look that was clearly asking you what the fuck that was for. Pointing at your shoulder you mouthed to her that it hurt, sticking out your bottom lip in a pout as you fixed her with award winning puppy dog eyes. As you did so, her tight lip smile split into the toothy grin you loved to see. Rolling her eyes playfully, she kissed her fingers and then reached down and touched them to your shoulder.
“Better?” She whispered, and you nodded your head vigorously as she held in her laughter. Often Rose thought that one reason she loved you so much was the similarities between yourself and a puppy with your need for affection and attention. Though she wasn’t one for PDA, your constant desire to be near her or touching her certainly made her smile.
Continuing to listen to Jill ramble on about something that you were sure to hear again later, you leaned your head against Rose’s leg. The two of you finally both deep in focus about the game day ahead of you.
“IT’S GAME DAY!” You screamed, jumping onto Kelley’s back as you both walked down the bus aisle.
To say you made an entrance would be an understatement. Christen nearly jumped out of her skin, Tobin almost dropped her water bottle, Becky DID drop her water bottle, Pinoe hit her head on the window, Alex ripped off too much pink pre-wrap, and the rest of the team generally looked startled.
“GAME DAY!” Sonnett and Kelley screamed in response, Kelley having her phone out recording the chaos as she carried you towards the back. This was of course echoed by various members of the team, Crystal even dancing in her seat and gaining a series of hollers from the girls.
“You sound like a team of high school football players.” Naeher grumbled and the girls all laughed, poking fun at their favorite grumpy uncle.
When you finally made it to the back, Kelley dumped you into your seat beside Rose. Like, literally dumped you. Thankfully Rose had taken the inside seat as always or else you probably would have crushed her under your weight. Instead, you landed safely in your seat and your head landed in Rose’s lap.
“What a coincidence seeing you here pretty lady.” You winked up at the pale girl who rolled her eyes playfully.
“Shut up before I push you into the floor again.” She huffed and now it was your turn to roll your eyes as you sat up in your seat.
“Happy game day to you too, Petunia.” Rose laughed and leaned on your shoulder, initiating physical contact wasn’t something she normally did but game days were a little different as she found your touch calming. She slipped in her headphones and started to focus as you placed her stuffed English Bulldog plush in her lap. You stayed like that for  a while until Rapinoe got her music going over the speaker and it was time to jam out. A little tap to Rose’s leg told her it was time to lean off of you as you jumped up and were equally as hyped as the veteran forward.
—-
Watching Rose play absolutely filled your heart with joy and as the first whistle of the game blew you were on the edge of the bench with your eye on the ball. It was a tense first half and you were constantly switching between sitting and standing as you yelled at your teammates, Spain, and everyone who came in between. Watching Spain keep possession was painful but what hurt even more was the look on your girls face when she came off the field at half.  You were quick to join her side as you made your way to the locker room.
“You’re playing strong, Peony.” You whispered and Rose simply shook her head, clearly upset with her performance. Her focus wasn’t where it should be, still stuck in the third minute where her shot on goal had been deflected by Spain’s defense. As you both sat down in the locker room, you laced your fingers through hers.
“Let’s do our breathing exercises, okay?” Rose nodded and the both of you switched your focus to your inhales and exhales, counting each as you went. Around twenty, Rose stopped and nodded her head to show that she was done and even the look in her eyes told you that she had recentered.
“Thank you.” She whispered, giving you a quick kiss on the cheek. You smiled and ducked your head, a blush creeping up your neck at the act of affection. Somehow, none of your teammates made a comment on the action the same way they did with Krashlyn or Preath but you decided not to let their behavior distract you from the gesture. Moments later, Jill entered the room and began discussing subs and plans for the second half of the game.
—-
After reentering the stadium and being subbed in for Pinoe at the half, you were bouncing on your toes in anticipation. Watching Becky nearly give the ball to Spain’s forward had your full body coursing with anxiety and you couldn’t even begin to fathom standing still as you raced forwards to attempt to somehow beat the opposing teams one-touch pattern. Somehow, Rose beat you to it. Quickly, you hollered at your favorite midfielder who didn’t miss a beat in crossing the ball over to you.
From there, instinct took over. Just as you had been taught, you channeled every ounce of anxiety into speed and pulled past the Spanish player who was gunning for the ball at your feet. You could feel Alex’s presence towards the middle of the field but there was no way to get a clean pass so you simply did what you did best. Run. As you neared the goal you seized the first opportunity you had to beat Pereira out, kicking the ball in just above Paños glove. When the ball hit the net, you opened your arms to the stadium and jogged back onto the field where a small body slammed against your chest.
Smiling from ear to ear, you wrapped your arms around your teammate who had thrown herself onto you. You were always happy to hug Rose but hugging her after scoring a goal that she assisted on was what you imagined heaven felt like.
“You did it baby!” She cheered, kissing your forehead in an unusual display of affection that made you grin even wider. Tobin and Alex who had both reached you just as quickly followed Rose’s lead in throwing their arms around you and leaving kisses of their own on your head. You didn’t miss the glance that Alex had given Rose though, as if something had surprised her about the kiss.
Forcing your teammates off of you, everyone launched back into the game which eventually ended with a solid score of one to zero and you once again being attacked by all of your teammates.
As everyone started to disperse, talking to fans or teammates, you of course made a beeline for Rose. Before you could get there however, Jill was calling out to you. Groaning internally, you jogged your way over to your coach who placed a hand on your shoulder.
“You’re on for press duties.” Now you groaned out loud. It’s not that you disliked doing press but after what was a game winning goal, you’d much rather be spending your time with your girls. Or, well, your girl to be specific.
“Why are we even doing a conference after a friendly?” The backtalk was basically your brand, never holding back from asking your questions, even with Jill.
“After that loss to France, this win is important. It’s a World Cup year and we need to show the media that we’re back on our feet.” Coach explained, and you nodded in understanding.
“Fine. Anyone with me?” You asked and Jill nodded, pointing to Pinoe who made a frowny face and gave you a thumbs down that made you laugh. When you made it to your fellow forward, she didn’t hesitate to jump onto your back.
“Onward, my steed!” She shouted, pointing the way to the little press room.
As you walked in you were greeted with the sound of cameras and flashes of light that you knew were catching all of the sweat sitting on your brow. The amount of interviewers weren’t overwhelming like you knew they’d be at the Cup in a few months but there were enough that you began to do your breathing exercises, wishing that Rose was beside you. The press began asking questions and Pinoe handled most of them with ease as you generally faked interest. That was until a question was directed towards you.
“Miss Y/LN,” You turned your attention to the woman who called your name, inclining your head towards her to let her know you heard her and for her to continue. “Firstly I wanted to say congratulations on your goal tonight, you played beautifully. I may be a Spain fan but I was certainly excited to see you sub in at the half.” You let out a laugh and smiled at the woman, beaming under the praise.
“Thank you so much, it was a tough half. I was grateful to be on the field but subbing in for Raps here always leaves me with some big boots to fill.” Rapinoe, as well as many of those in attendance, awed at your statement. The older player threw an arm around your shoulder and pulled you into her for a quick side hug before letting you go back to your seat.
“Well, you did amazing. We simply wanted to ask how you’re feeling after such a game. I mean, your one goal in the fifty-sixth minute and then thirty-four more of just brutal defending, that couldn’t have been easy.” The reporter was right on the money with that one, it wasn’t an aggressive game physically with only one card on Spain but it had been tiring nonetheless.
“Absolutely. Like I said before, it was a tough half but I truly am thankful to play. Frankly I am kind of mentally exhausted and so when Jill told me I was on press I was less than thrilled, sorry.” Admitting the last part made you blush a little as you scratched the back of your neck but the reporters all simply laughed and Pinoe nodded her head in agreement.
“Is there somewhere in particular you’d rather be?” Another reporter asked and you bit your lip and laughed a little, trying to push away the thoughts that had entered your mind. There was definitely somewhere you wanted to be right now.
“Of course. I mean, I always like to celebrate wins with my girlfriend whenever I can.” The answer seemed to rattle everyone in the room including Pinoe who tried, and failed, to cover her look of surprise. God, you knew that was going to be memed later. Regardless, you kept your confident smile on as the press began to clamor with questions about your relationship. Instead of answering, you let management conclude the little conference as you stood up from the table and made your way to the locker room to get out of your sweaty jersey.
However, changing was not an option once you entered the room and were immediately mobbed by the majority of your teammates.
“Your girlfriend?!” Kelley screamed, nearly tackling you to the ground with a flying squirrel jump as soon as you entered the room. You gave all of the women a weird look but just kind of nodded your head, confused at their shock.
“A girlfriend?!” Andi Sullivan yelled, as Sonnett once again chucked a water bottle your way.
“I just watched the livestream, Y/N’s gay?” Sam shouted as she crossed over to you. This one you answered because… really?
“Samantha Mewis, you really thought I was straight? Ew, fuck no. I literally made multiple posts during pride month last year and went to a gay bar with Krashlyn and Raps.” Prying Kelley off of you, you attempted to move towards your locker. Krashlyn and Raps, who had recently entered the room, all looked at each other in surprise.
“We just thought you went because you literally love beer as much as Kelley and we offered free drinks.” Ashlyn admitted.
“Yeah, you’ve never actually said that you’re gay.” Rapinoe added and you recoiled from the statement.
“And I shouldn’t fucking have to!” You spat, shoving the girls away from you as you made it to your locker and stripped off your jersey that had started to cling to you. “Y’all are acting like you didn’t know I have a girlfriend.”
“We didn’t.” Alex muttered, the entire locker room dead silent as you stood there in your sports bra, staring at the team with your mouth agape. Before you could pull yourself together enough to answer, a pale body raced into the locker room and jumped into your arms. Stumbling backwards, you nearly dropped the tiny girl who had her legs wrapped around your waist but you managed to catch her in time.
“I still can’t believe you made the freaking game winning goal! I’m so proud of you baby.” Rose squealed burying her head in your neck. Holding Rose in your arms made you forget about your idiotic teammates for a second as you felt her press a kiss to your neck where she knew she couldn’t be seen. You hummed in response, hugging her a little tighter. The two of you were pulled out of your little dazes by the sound of a water bottle hitting the floor. Turning your head back towards your teammates, you were met with looks of shock and confusion. Setting Rose back down on her own two feet, the two of you turned to face the team together.
“What’s going on?” Rose asked, extremely confused as she had only just gotten back from being with the trainers.
“The girls are having a fucking fit because of what I said at the press conf.” You grumbled running a hand through your hair in frustration.
“Literally what in the flying fuck are you all still staring at.” The sentence came out as a growl and your eyes narrowed. As much as you liked affection and attention, this had become both annoying and uncomfortable for you as you stood there shirtless.
“She..” Sonnet started, motioning between you and Rose who now had her back to the team as she rummaged through your bags on the bench behind you.
“What…” Kelley started, again trailing off before she could say anything.
“Can someone around here speak in full sentences?” You laughed attempting to lighten the tension as you happily accepted and threw on the blue athletic shirt that Rose had handed to you out of your bag.
“Rose called you baby.” Ashlyn finally managed to get out and you raised an eyebrow in confusion
“Yeah, what about it?” You asked.
“And she’s the only one who doesn’t seem shocked by the fact that you have a girlfriend.” Tobin muttered, seemingly more so thinking out loud than speaking.
“Why would I be shocked?” Rose asked, looking up at you for help but you simply shrugged your shoulders.
“Holy shit!” Mal yelled as everything started to click.
“Rose is Y/N’s girlfriend, they’re dating.” As soon as the words left Alex’s mouth, the girls all started to argue. You could hear bits and pieces of everyone’s discussions as they all yelled over each other but what got your attention was Rose reaching out and grabbing your hand.
“Did they really not know?” She asked quietly and you just kind of shook your head in disbelief.
“I mean, it kinda seems like it.” You muttered, squeezing her hand gently.
“Idiots.” Rose grumbled, electing a laugh from you.
“For fucks sake, they’re holding hands!” Sonnett yelled, the arguing settling down now as everyone turned to look at you two. Rose’s face went bright red at the attention over the physical touch as her gaze became fixated on the ground and you glared at the team.
“Did y’all seriously not know this?” You finally asked and the team all started to stutter and look around guiltily. Their idiocy made you bark out a laugh, causing Rose to punch you in the side. You turned to your girlfriend and fake gasped in pain while she simply rolled your eyes and muttered something about you being dramatic.
“So this is like… for serious?” Alex questioned, motioning between you both and you two gave her identical nods.
“For how long?” Ashlyn asked, she and Ali both looking at the two girls like proud parents and it was almost gag worthy but the looks of approval in their eyes had Rose practically glowing.
“Since the SheBelieves Cup.” Rose answered, finding confidence through Krashlyn to speak up. You looked down at her lovingly, happy to see her speaking about your relationship.
“No way, that’s like a year.” Sonnett said in disbelief.
“March 7th, 2018.” You answered with a shrug.
“Right after you scored the goal against England and won the cup.” Christen stated, the gears clearly turning in her head as she and Tobin both thought about the timeline of events.
“Yup, she asked me out right there on the Orlando Pride field in Exploria Stadium. That’s how the tradition of us going out after every game she scores in started.” Rose explained, her blue eyes trained on your face as you tilt your head and smile down at her as you unlace your fingers from her. The lack of contact didn’t last long though as you brought your arms around her shoulders and pulled her so her back was against your chest and your chin rested on her head. Once again, the team seemed shocked.
“There’s literally no way. You two could not have been dating for nearly a year and none of us noticed.” Julie shook her head, crossing her arms.
“I mean, I don’t know how you didn’t notice. Besides JJ, you and like half the team were maybe two feet away when I asked her. Literally right after she said yes Alex and Christen came over and hugged us.” The three women all shared looks of disbelief that this had happened right in front of them.
“I still don’t believe it. This is just some sort of elaborate prank like the ones you’re always pulling! Rose acts like she doesn’t even like you half the time.” Kelley said, crossing her arms like Julie had moments ago. Some of the team muttered in agreement and the words cut you deeply. The thought of your girlfriend not liking you was hurtful to say the least.
“I do not!” Rose defended, leaning further back into you.
“Yes you do.” Sonnett countered and Rose’s face scrunched in annoyance.
“Fine, if you don’t believe what we say then believe this!” Rose huffs, and without warning the small girl has turned in your arms and put her hands on the side of your face.
Quickly she looked you in the eye and you nodded, giving her your complete consent. Milliseconds later, her lips were on yours and you nearly melted in her touch. Without a second thought you put your hands on your girlfriend’s hips and picked her up so her legs were wrapped around your waist instead of having her standing on her tippy toes. Turning so that the girls could see the sides of your faces instead of the back of Rose’s head, giving them a full view of the little midfielders lips locked with yours, you could hear several of the girls let out gasps and others catcall you both. Gentle as ever, Rose leaned back so your foreheads were resting together. You carefully went to set her down but not before leaning in and stealing another quick kiss, Rose responding immediately as she moved her lips softly against your own.
Panting slightly, you both turn to face the girls who seem a mixture of shocked and happy. You pointed at Pinoe and glared slightly as she had of course recorded the entire thing on her phone.
“Send me that but don’t you dare post it anywhere.” Pinoe grinned as she quickly sent the video to the groupchat of inner circle players.
“Believe us now?” Rose asked with an air of sass that made your heart eyes grow even bigger.
“I stand corrected.” Kelley says with her eyebrows raised, holding her hands up in defeat.
“Good. Now, I believe I scored a goal. So if you’ll excuse us, Snowdrop and I have a date to go on.”
