Brawl Occurs At Fort Greene Preparatory Academy Over OTF Vs 4KT Argument
BROOKLYN, NEW YORK - Teachers and staff are expressing shock at Brooklyn’s Fort Greene Preparatory Academy after a large scale brawl erupted between multiple students in what is supposed to be one of New York City’s most prestigious schools. After the fight was broken up by security, several students admitted that the fight started over an alleged Hip-Hop feud.
According to several students involved in the fight, popular rappers Lil Durk and NBA YoungBoy along with their cliques “OTF” and “4KT” have been going at it for several years now, with fans all across the country picking sides, including many students at Fort Greene, many of whom claim to be “shooters” for either Lil Durk or NBA YoungBoy.
Allegedly, the argument originally began with just two people two people who were arguing about who lived the more authentic lifestyle: Lil Durk or NBA YoungBoy. The argument began to get more heated when several other students started picking sides, eventually culminating in a large scale fight.
The fight was eventually broken up by security, not not before several students were injured. At the end of it, nearly 20 students were suspended as a result of the brawl. People in the local community are expressing shock that an apparently gang related fight took place in a community like this.
“Like many parents and students, we are shocked by the incident that took place last week, in which an apparent gang related brawl took place on school grounds.” Fort Greene’s principal Paula Lettiere said in a statement issued to parents. “The brawl shouldn’t have been able to escalate in the way that it did, and as such, immediate action has been taken place, and all of the students involved in the brawl have been suspended indefinitely. We are currently working with a local gang task force to investigate this matter further, and hope we can put a stop to this type of violence at Fort Greene once and for all.”
The incident has left a poor taste in the mouth of many parents of students at Fort Greene, and as such, many parents are pushing for the school to ban Hip-Hop music entirely so an incident like this doesn’t happen again. “If this type of violent, vulgar, music is going to threaten the safety of my child, then it shouldn’t be around children in the first place.” Said mother Joan Erdner. “Children are already exposed to enough adult material as is, so the school needs to do its job and make sure that kids are not engaging with that kind of material as much as possible. Especially when it comes to something like rap, which encourages nothing but violence among the youth.”
