ngayon ko lang narealize na sobrang ganda pala talaga ni IU. pinanood ko na finally yung moon lovers: scarlet heart ryeo and i must say na sobrang sakit sa puso nung series na yon tapos na stress pa ko ng bongga! as in! kaya pala a lot of people has been asking if magkakaroon ba season 2 dahil sa ending nung episode 20. and then sa inupload ni IU sa IG nya yung screen na may nagbigay ng panyo sa kanya habang umiiyak siya sa museum and it turns out na it was the 4th Prince, Wang So who gave her the handkerchief. di ko kinakaya! ang angas angas ko pa. sabi ko, "titignan ko kung masasaktan ako dito." guuuuuurl! para akong aatakihin simula episode 10 hanggang 20 HAHAHA!
i mean, don't you think hae soo/wang so and orihime/ulquiorra have some similarity? both girls' are dragged into politics/war even though they don't want to and then get romantically involved with the '4th' boys (wang so ; the 4th prince and ulquiorra ; the 4th espada). both pairings end tragic as well.
now if i have good writing skills i will write a full blown story out of this.

DETAILS;
they say that blood is thicker than water - for tian feng, this rang true. born to honorable parents, leaders in the chinese court with a decorated war hero as a father and a well-respected socialite among the high nobility, tian feng was primed just as his elder brother was for the stage of the great.
there was never any question about who, or rather what, tian feng would be; he && his brother were to be enlisted when they were old enough, to make their ancestors proud, and to serve china as every zhang before them had done. xiaobo, his elder brother of three years, was a wildfire, creating flame anywhere he went. tian feng learned early on how to find peace; and it came from obedience. raise to the occasion, do as is expected, and know how to mind one's tongue, and follow authority.
he was a shining image of this - but even tian feng thought eventually, xiaobo would get on board with the performance, too. unfortunately, he did not. instead of enlisting in the naval army as expected when he turned 18, xiaobo left. taking his share of the family fortune and taking off, tian feng was then left alone to deal with the devastation and wrath that followed from his parents following. his mother wept when the decision was made to disown xiaobo, who was registered then as a criminal. tian feng didn't even know where he went after he left - he didn't care to know.
after that, his father was never the same. later, tian feng would recognize that it was mourning gone wrong, but suddenly, every bit of expectation and pressure was directed onto tian feng. he was enlisted by the end of the year, lying about his age on registration forms. at only sixteen, tian feng began his military career in the navy.
it was a fairly quick climb up - coming upon eleven years of service soon, he has been promoted through the ranks over the years for excellence. now he works along side the eldest prince of china himself, angelo - and oh, tian feng revels in the glory of it all. a public ceremony to award him a medal of courage, a celebration when he became the youngest ever promoted within the ranks of the navy, well, tian feng felt he had it all.
what he has coming will shake his world to it's core... he was never his father's son. he was the son of the emperor. a result of a long-standing affair that had taken place for dozens of years between his own mother, and the emperor himself. when tian feng comes to realize his true origin, several doors will appear for him to consider exploring. will he let the truth come to light, and join the race to win favor with the emperor, and ascend to the throne of china? for tian feng, he feels it is his calling to be something great - to grow beyond the confines of his upbringing, to achieve something bigger than he is.
but what if not all of china takes well to a bastard son, even if he is a beloved hero of war?
announcing zhu xueqin , the prince of the ming dynasty ! in a recent portrait they seem to resemble wang ziyi . it is a miracle that he survived the last five years and for that reason , they are neutral towards the kingdoms working together . reflecting on them now , they remind me of flushed cheeks and melodic laughter ; traces of blood on the lower lip from a lover fervently biting down ; shirking responsibilities in favor of spending time with companions .
pinterest / death tw .
personal name. zhu ling / 朱凌 ( ling meaning ‘ to rise high ; pure / virtuous ’ * please note the majority of people outside the ming dynasty do not know his personal name )
courtesy name. xueqin / 学勤 ( xue meaning ‘ learning ; knowledge ’ & qin meaning ‘ diligent ; hardworking ’ )
nicknames. a-ling ( primarily used by his family )
title. prince of the first-rank ( imperial prince ) , prince of qin ( since 1635 )
age. twenty-six
birthdate. june 4th ( gemini sun / sagittarius moon / libra rising )
gender & pronouns. cis man , he / him

zhu ling ( 朱凌 ) , fourth son and sixth child of the yongrui emperor ( zhu qiqiang / 朱祁强 ) . although he and his wife , empress xiaohui ( initially of the zeng clan ) , were not expecting you so early , your birth was celebrated throughout the dynasty anyway . you were a prince of the first-rank , even if you were the last one born , and the way you were fussed over proved that . you were a giggly baby , always smiling . if you were not with a family member , you were with your wet nurse , liang mei . she was like a second mother to you .
as you got older you would come to adore your siblings , your three brothers in particular . despite the differences in your ages , you tried your hardest to follow them around the forbidden palace . a young houzhao would often pick you up and carry you around . there was a fourteen year gap between the two of you , but that never seemed to matter . when he wasn’t busy with his duties and lessons as crown prince , he would join you and your mother in the gardens for respite .
when time came for you to take lessons of your own , you struggled . nothing seemed to hold your attention long , much to the chagrin of your tutors as your father took it as them not properly doing their jobs . you felt bad for getting them in trouble , though there wasn’t anything you could really do . whenever you pushed yourself to focus , it backfired miserably . hours spent reading and writing numbed your brain and cramped your hand as you practiced your calligraphy . it wasn’t until strategy games were introduced to your curriculum that you took a steady interest . you needed a more hands on approach , your tutors finally understood . your father was pleased seeing you show military prowess and you enjoyed the feeling of having his approval , whether you would admit to it or not .
on your fourteenth birthday , the yongrui emperor bestowed you with the princedom of qin , your official first-rank princely peerage . you continued proving your worth with military strategy and tactics . at some point you graduated from solely using board games to advancing through specialized sports as well . however outside of that , you didn’t do a lot . you had your thing and stuck to it , because it was what you were good at aside from looking handsome and being charming to the public . ladies , and some men , of the ming dynasty would flock towards you in attempts of catching your eye . most of the time , it worked ; you were always fond of pretty things and you made it known .
a handful of months after your sixteenth birthday , your father passed . houzhao took the throne as intended . he allowed you to remain the prince of qin , going as far as praising you for your budding talents . you found you liked his praise , too , even if you did the bare minimum to deserve it . when you were seventeen , your mother passed almost exactly a year after your father . still , you went on with living , excitable as ever . a ball of energy with a flair for dramatics . you never let it on , but you knew the eunuchs found it distasteful . you didn’t care — it was your life . besides , it wasn’t a secret that houzhao treated you more like a son than a brother , and because of this dynamic , you mirrored a lot of his mannerisms when you weren’t being a rowdy teenager . you still do even as you’re older and he’s no longer with you .
once you turned twenty , houzhao took it upon himself to give you a courtesy name : xueqin ( 学勤 ) . while you were not the best academically by any means , you were clever when you applied yourself . he knew that . he knew you had a lot more to offer than what you gave . with houzhao’s encouragement , you soon joined the military after coming of age . unfortunately it only lasted about a year as the world was overtaken by the plague . you were immediately taken back home , quarantined for good measure . when you were cleared , you found yourself alongside all your siblings and sister-in-law .
the next five years are a blur to you . it was chaos and nothing seemed to calm down . it made your head hurt . houzhao’s sudden death only added to it . you felt overwhelmed , but no one noticed . you didn’t bother telling them . in private you think you mourned more for houzhao than you did for your parents . soon , jinhai became the new emperor . you were still close to him , in a strange way he sometimes reminded you of houzhao — not completely , never exactly , but enough — however there were rumors . you could see the suspicion growing in everyone’s eyes as they looked at him . you couldn’t bring yourself to do the same . perhaps you’re naive to think so highly of him . for better or worse , you stand tall by his side .
you arrive in switzerland . it becomes apparent the swiss court and attending kingdoms have already heard the whispers . it stresses you out , but in typical you fashion , you flash a grin and pretend like it doesn’t bother you . people seem to believe it . you pray your brother can fix it sooner than later ( you definitely do not envy him , even if you are willing to share his burden ) . it’s only a few weeks into the summit when your brother announces your betrothal to one of the swiss princesses . while you’re shocked , you’re not upset . yours is the first betrothal made by the new emperor . in your mind , that’s progress . though you were surprised , hurt , that he did not tell you about your sister’s apparent engagement . you wish you didn’t find out from a heat of the moment wedding . you try to rationalize he had reasons of keeping it from you .
although you don’t particularly know how you feel about all the kingdoms coming together , you want your kingdom to do well . and you want your family to be well , so you’re throwing caution to the wind by being optimistic . you’re getting over your own setbacks , allowing yourself to assist in any way that is required . you like to think houzhao would be proud of you for stepping up more often .
“How you’re feeling right now, it must be so miserable. I think I can relate.” ~ Hae Soo
This is 4th Prince Wang So from the amazing kdrama Moon Lovers: Scarlet Heart Ryeo. I’ve been rewatching that drama and so I drew him. He’s played by my favorite actor, Lee Joongi. His character goes through more hardship and suffering than I’ve ever seen of any character in dramas I watch, and yet he still endures.
His story is quite sad, but even though his heart has been wounded and he sometimes wavers, he never gives up. I can relate to him. The quote above is something the main female lead character, Hae Soo says, after his mother brutally rejects him as her son. This scene always stood out to me the most out of any other scene in the drama. So, I drew it! Hope you enjoy! ❤️🥰
“Whenever I come to you, all my problems seem to become lighter. So, how can I live without seeing you? If you’re not going to come to me, don’t give me hope either. For me… it is torture.”
“If we are not from the same world, I will find you, My Soo.”
– Wang So
I usually avoid watching K-Drama because of how intense and extremely passionate the fans gets. But last week, this series, Moon Lovers: Scarlet Heart Ryeo, was forced to me by a friend. I sat here, expecting the worst, boy was I wrong.
I love and enjoyed watching this series, i was seriously blown way, the ending crushed me beyond recovery. The actors and actresses were awesome, especially Lee Joon-Gi as the 4th Prince / Wang So, my god he deserves better, tbh.
So, I had to draw my most fave Scarlet Heart Ryeo character, cinnamon roll 4th Prince, to also commemorate my joining the K-Drama, and Lee Joon-Gi fan club 😁😅
