C: What member do you identify with most?

Trick question i relate to all the Eds for different reasons!! But for real I guess in the dynamic of the three together I am absolutely Ed.

E: If you wrote a sequel to [insert fic], what would it be about?

Hmmm I don’t know! I feel like my fics are all little separate contained packages. Maybe not so much sequels but snippets from the same general timeline. I don’t want to spoil how LMS ends but of course I have ideas about the events following its conclusion.

F: Share a snippet from one of your favorite dialogue scenes you've written and explain why you're proud of it.

Okay here is another because I’m bad at picking favorites… from Ch 4 of LMS.

Clapping her hands together, the enthused employee responded, “My goodness! Isn’t that funny! Three friends with the same name. Why, you could write a story book about something like that.”

“Eh, probably more like a TV show,” Eddy replied, running a hand through his hair to make sure it wasn’t out of place from Ed’s ruffling.

“What would it be about?” The woman inquired.

Eddy placed Sparky’s name tag over his right thumb, flicked it until it flipped a few times, and snatched it midair on the descent.

“Beats me. It’s kind of a weak premise. Sounds like it needs a plot.”

I enjoyed the irony of the characters in-universe not being aware they are characters from a kids cartoon. It’s just fun for me to play with that, and prod at the common criticism that the show didn’t have a plot lol. It had a plot but it was often simple. The imagery of Eddy flipping the tag was meant to allude to the main plot driver for most of the show: getting quarters for jaw breakers.

Lol I also appreciated you shouting out the Eddy line from this bit of dialogue from The Ed Must Go On. I also felt proud of myself for getting Eddy’s stubborn-as-an-ass voice right haha and I can’t resist writing Edd and Eddy bickering:

Eddy just leaned back, crossing his arms.

“You know. It’s your way or the highway.”

“Well I can’t help that you were pulling the fabric too taut. Your seam is going to be cockled.”

“Maybe I like my seams cockled.”

G: Do you write your story from start to finish, or do you write the scenes out of order?

I guess more the latter. I often get specific dialogue or scenes in my head and work a plot around that. Sometimes if there are multiple scenes I’ll cobble them together in an order that makes some logical sense. With a more complicated multi chapter fic I have general outlines of events, locations, timelines too that I’m working with.

I: Do you have a guilty pleasure in fic (reading or writing)?

Honestly my answer to F this time around reminded me I’m such a sucker for 4th wall breaks and references back to events from the show. I integrate them a lot, hopefully not entirely overdoing it (I’m definitely overdoing it). Um also big fan of physical comedy - how could I not be, eene is the best with slapstick!

K: What's the angstiest idea you've ever come up with?

Oh jeez… it’s a fair question but I’m so cringe. In my old fic Ready I heavily insinuate that Eddy was physically and sexually abused by his bro.

S: Any fandom tropes you can't resist?

I’m not sure! Forgive me, my brain in jamming. I’m thinking of more like headcanons, not necessarily tropes? Like having them be stoners in high school.

HSR and writing thoughts ahead, nothing important.

Going through the Penacony main quests, I think I'm at half of the main quest in 2.0.

Sampo looking out for the MC in his own way (that's what it feels like - a warning to not quickly trust other people and let them use the trailblazer in advancing their own agendas) had me liking him more, to be honest. Loved that his dream within a dream is about trashcans starting a revolution - and it feels like foreshadowing. I am thinking in the end, the MC will inherit the Watchmaker's legacy (or will be placed as the figure to inherit it by different factions involved with the Penacony quests in-game). Oops turned out that was Sparkle. She's unapologetically unhinged, and I kind of like her - she's entertaining so far.

Me at Sparkle:

The game is really trying to push Firefly to be something special to the MC and I think it would have worked if it was done more...organically. Maybe if they went with several meetings in the span of several sub-quests under the main quest, or an entire event like with the Ghostly Grove characters. I feel more connected to Huohuo, Sushang and Gunaifen since I played through several challenges and acts with them in 1.5. Sushang and the MC worked together in another event too, so the MC being close to them feels a lot more organic, with the friendship feeling more natural since the trust between them was mutually earned and developed over time. The meeting and eventual friendship with Firefly feels rushed, I honestly don't have any real emotional connection to her yet.

Also...I have a feeling Misha is more than just a bellboy. I am getting The Ones Who Walk Away from Omelas or Powered by a Forsaken Child trope vibes from what I've played of the Penacony main quests so far. I have a theory that the dreamworld / utopia is powered by well, a forsaken child (Misha). Or that maybe Misha is a dream, a personification or fragment of the Watchmaker's subsconcious who is trapped somewhere and dreaming the entire Penacony dreamworld into being (sort of like Tidus from FFX). Misha is the Watchmaker's cry for help to try and end the dream cycle/utopia. The fact you can refute wanting to live in a perfect dream when Acheron asks the MC that during the first time you meet her I think gives hints that the whole of Penacony will explore that theme - is it better to live in a utopia at the cost of someone else (or an entire group) to pursue and live out your desires, or is it better to live in the real world even if it's cruel and unforgiving while striving and hoping for a better tomorrow? To dream, or to actually live? Very The Matrix in terms of vibe and themes, to be honest. With a little bit of Inception mixed in.

I have theories about Acheron too, one of which is that the questions she asks the MC earlier I think are meant to be meta / 4th wall breakers (the multiple versions of the MC she feels she met is a reference to the multiple players choosing different MCs and choices in-game to her questions). Or perhaps her and her different iterations in other games meeting the MC and their different iterations too. And I am thinking it would be cool if the game is keeping track of those choices and those "different versions of the trailblazer" not for different endings or to ultimately alter the story, but for a surreal scene where a reflection of the MC tries to give advice to your MC, but those advice are actually dialogue choices by other players, ala Oxenfree. But I feel it would be a waste to track player choices if the main plot won't be affected by those choices anyway.

Anyway enough about that.

I'm still sad Dan Heng decided to sit this world out. Though I get why, and I have an idea about how to handle that in a fic. Now I just need to actually write that fic - maybe someday. 😂

As the white haired Spectra was caught off-guard by the sudden Reveal of the supposed Face Snatcher, she was quickly thrown onto the Ground by him with a lot of Force and landed with a rather loud ‘Thud’.

“...Well, Shit. Now that my Coding is broken, I'm not able to hide in the Shadows anymore, as it seem... Well then...”

Taffy stared directly into the flickering Green Eyes of the Ghost that was looming directly in front of her. No matter how much she tried to move, it was like she was paralyzed, as some sort of invisible Force was holding her down.

“Time to continue snatching some more Memories~”

Gradually, he began to raise his Arm, his Hand balled into a Fist that was ready to punch the shocked Ghoul at any given Moment.

However...

Out of nowhere, the white haired Ghost unexpectedly vanished into thin Air, which caused the mysterious Face Snatcher to halt in his Attack, the snarky Expression on his Face from before now replaced with a puzzled one as he glanced around in a confused Manner and tried to process what just occured right in front of him.

Looking up, Taffy could make out a freckled Toad that was peering around the Corner of a Wall and observing something, or rather someone.

Without taking their Eyes off of the other Spectra they were currently watching, the purple-spotted Toad calmly spoke up.

“That was a close Call. My Coding luckily managed to get you out of here just in Time.”

At first, the blue Spectra stayed silent, but replied with a String of Gibberish after a few Moments.

“Teirhjdfhjkcbkjsahkjh?”

“Who I am? Well, I’m Samadarshi, or Sam for short.”

The freckled Toad finally turned to her, a peaceful Smile stretched over their Face. How in the Underwhere’s Name did that mysterious Stranger just understood what she said?

With serene Eyes, Samadarshi stared back at her: “That broken Microphone inside your Throat is bothering you, isn’t it? I am certain that you rather prefer to have your old Voice back than continue to speak nonsensical Gibberish that not a single Soul is able to comprehend. However, do not worry, with some mere Coding of mine, I can ‘delete’ that very Problem right out of you.”

Gently, the purple-spotted Ghosthunter raised a gloved Hand and pointed it towards Taffy’s Throat.

Doc- faceless

Around the time macfight’s faceless form was found, a goob found doc- or what remained of them in a room behind the throne room. One goob still has a face, the larger goob learned that this goob’s name is Nicoleo. Some of the ghost theorize Doc might’ve been tying to protect macfrights- only for both of them to be taken out. Nicoleo has relocated to spectral catch, with kruller and the faceless ozzer.

Ringmaster Smiles - Safe for now

Smiles can count the times he is guinely scared on his figures. This is one of them. The thing already took out 2 of his performers, whom he now has in the living quarters of the circus floor. He’s locked down his floor, now only he can enter an exit. Smiles has gone out, searching for other ghosts. He’s heard spectral catch is a safe space, and tries to point ghosts in that direction. He is angry as well, he probably would fight the 4th wall breaker when he finds him.

Edward specter; still has a face

Edward reluctantly goes out. He is trying to gather evidence to figure out how this face snatcher is. He is gathering what he can, interviewing who he can. This is all to familiar to him? And it scares him ( hahah he absolutely wasn’t killed by a person who is responsible for a murder mystery- and this is reminding of it hahah absolutely not ).

She is protecting the ghosts that remain in the mall, she hasn’t spoken to anyone outside the mall yet.

And then proceed to draw on everyones faces because he’s bored out of his mind with no one to talk to-

With the number of victims becoming so high and the Resort being in Full Panic Mode it didn’t take long for news of it to reach Benny and his Kingdom. He calmed everyone down and soon after set out check on Cotton Candy and make sure she was okay, Bringing with him Two Hammer Guards for Protection.

As he Roamed the Halls and Floors looking for them he spotted a Small Blue Figure resting against a Wall, Motionless. Upon Investigating further he realized it Zin, who fell Victim to the person causing this. He didn’t know the Child that well but still gently picked him up, Horrified that a Child had become a victim.

He had one of his Guards bring Zin back to his Kingdom where he could be kept safe until a way to Fix this was Found. He was praying that Cotton Candy was safe.

Her undead Lungs burned with every Breath she took, but she couldn’t stop now. 

The ghostly Artist had to warn everybody of this unknown Threat inside the Hotel.

Who or what it was, she was unsure, just that for some Reason it had the Ability to remove the Faces of People, leaving them behind as an empty Husk of themselves, unable to move or respond to anyone or anything.

Taking a sharp Corner, the anxious Spectra almost crashed into a Wall but was just barely able to avoid it, her shaking Hand pressing itself off of it.

Almost there...

...

She... was too late.

Floating in front of her, the all too familiar Caveman, his expressionless Head aimed towards her.

Silently, she stared back.

...

However, that’s when she caught a Glimpse of someone.

A dark blue skinned Figure with light green Eyes, red Hair, a Cap that was worn backwards and a sporty Jacket.

It was someone who the ghostly Artist has never seen before inside the Hotel, and her Question would be very likely not answered either any Time soon, seeing how the mysterious Figure hurried off, leaving her and the faceless Caveman behind.

...Who in the Underwhere’s Name was that?
