So, I looked at my hands as all they grabbed was the quiet lonely air.

Air that was once filled with our scent, giggles, and love,

It was all gone like a summer-radiant day,

and became a murky winter day.

That time I thought I could not go any closer to grief without dying

I went closer, and I did not die. Surely God had his hand in this,

as well as friends. Still, I was bent, and my laughter, as the poet said,

but how you carry it– books, bricks, grief– it’s all in the way you embrace it, balance it, carry it

when you cannot, and would not, put it down.” So I went practicing. Have you noticed?

Have you heard the laughter that comes, now and again, out of my startled mouth?

How I linger to admire, admire, admire the things of this world that are kind, and maybe

also troubled – roses in the wind, the sea geese on the steep waves, a love to which there is no reply?

It’s never too late to start reading again even if you always try and fail and think you don’t have enough time or attention span. Just keep trying and eventually it might stick

#sludge #not there yet but im trying #it will happen.#i read everything from poems to comics at a snails pace so it’s hard to pick up books and read at a constant flow #it’s not the words it’s the analysis of information #I always thought I wanted to get into fantasy books in adulthood but now I don’t think they will interest me #I need to read classics #I want to read classics #I will literally spend 5 minutes on a manga page this is going to take some hard work
