that one scene in spiderverse when miguel pulls out the silly expository lady for some silly exposition time. and he starts talking about the universe and webs and canons and you’re like oh boy this is getting complicated. time to get exposited. but then he starts talking about how your dad HAS to die. and you’re like wait this feels kinda…wrong. isn’t it really sad that this is a necessary thing for every spiderman? isn’t it really sour that pavitr didn’t let that man die, but now everyone in his universe is suffering for it? why does it have to be this way? and then miles starts to realize, my dad is next. but he’s my DAD. and you’re like this is jeff we’re talking about. and this scene that’s framed like, here’s the exposition, now let’s go punch some bad guys—miles is like no. stop. this can’t be right. and we’re also like this can’t be right. and then the movie starts breaking down. and the problem stops feeling like it can be solved in 140 minutes because suddenly the problem is so very big and baked into the foundation of the universe. and then miles starts running. and then you’re like oh…the exposition was supposed to feel wrong cause it wasn’t exposition by the heroes, it was a villain speech.

I brought the skirt I'm working on to the museum yesterday, to get some hand-sewing done at the desk between tours (a lot of my projects end up being done half-hand and half-machine, because I love working on the train or during downtime at my various jobs). you know, the one made of the God-Tier WoolTM
when I invited my coworker, a 19-year-old student, to feel the fabric- in that "OH MY GOD FEEL THIS!!!" tone -her jaw dropped
she had never felt soft, light- or even medium-weight wool in her life. she previously thought, it turns out, that all wool was coarse, heavy, and itchy. she couldn't stop stroking it with that awestruck look on her face
truly, fuck fast fashion and the modern garment industry. for depriving us of sensory richness in our clothing so thoroughly that most of us don't even know what we've lost

Do you know what quietly devastates me? It’s the fact as soon as the traveler is awake to register that their twin isn’t here, before anything else they do in Teyvat…
…they stay exactly where they are, because the fact that their twin isn’t here means their twin has got to be searching for them if at all capable of it.
They stay put, for two months—sixty days—one-thousand-four-hundred-and-forty hours—because it’s easiest to find someone when the lost person stay put. The traveler doesn’t even attempt to travel until well past the time it’s clear that this world is horribly different. This world, their twin isn’t coming back. This world, they—the lost and disoriented sibling—are the one who must find their twin.
We have always had enough time. Always, before now. Always, until Teyvat. But now they have stayed at this lakeshore two entire months, and there has been nothing. Their twin is gone, and time is in free-fall.
Welcome to Teyvat.

Fully back on my bullshit but the fighter jet call…the red wire being prominent and right in front of Eddie’s face, but being interrupted right before clipping it and told he has to first deal with the other piece, then being told he’s supposed to cut the green wire instead when it’s back more out of the way, and ultimately he has to cut the red wire anyway because that was “obviously” the correct choice…yeah…yeah…

Yeah Wyll wants kids, but that's not what would make him a good father. Wanting kids doesn't automatically mean you'll be a good at parenting. Too many people want the idea of kids, but not the reality of raising them. While you might be able to speculate about a character’s ability to parent, it's hard to tell unless they're shown interacting with kids directly. The few instances where Wyll does shows us much about how he views kids in general.
The main thing that stands out in those scenes is how Wyll talks to them. While it's often in the form of a lesson, he talks to them like people. Wyll instructs them, he doesn’t belittle them. Children are constantly treated like they're stupid instead of people with limited familiarity. Wyll teaches them like someone who knows more due to experience, not intelligence. However, he’s also aware that children aren't capable of everything adults are. Yet instead of believing they are incapable of anything in entirety, he works with what they are capable of.
Wyll relates to kids as well. He remembers being one, and Wyll doesn’t separate who he is now from his younger self. He knows he’s no longer that child, but he also knows that child was still him. When he is teaching the Tiefling kids sword work, one named Umi gets distraught. Link to a video of the scene. He tells Wyll he can't fight like him, and Wyll responds with, "I don't need you to be like me. You just have to buy enough time to run." He reassures Umi that fighting is not the lesson’s goal, defense and protection is. Wyll tells him that he also used to be scared, because he wants kids to know that he used to be where they are now. Wyll believes that people have the capacity to become better than they are now, and by including kids in that belief he shows that he recognizes them as people too.
Wyll has many skills and talents that would translate well to parenting, but those things work best when you recognize a child is an individual. Yes they haven’t learned much, yes they don’t have many experiences, but those things don’t erase the fact that a child is a person. Parenting should be seen as guiding someone to discover themself, rather than an attempt to make a person they'd want. This is a crucial part of parenthood many ignore, but I don’t think Wyll would. He interacts with children like he does anyone else, with empathy and compassion for differences. Wyll loves people, and he loves children because they’re also people.
In a game where autonomy is the main struggle of many characters, having one acknowledge the autonomy of kids shows how strongly Wyll believes in its importance. While teaching kids doesn’t fully equate to parental skills, it still exemplifies how one views kids in general. Wyll’s desire for kids alone is not the main reason he would make a good parent. Wyll would make a good parent because he treats children like people.

Im really really hoping the theory about Wille having a birthday in s3 are true because i want Simon to give him a gift SO BADLY. I want it to be something sweet and whimsical and soft bc Wille deserves whimsy in his life. Even if it is a gag gift that Wille actually ends up keeping. I really want the stuffed animal frog like i mentioned in my unhinged s3 list bc its the opposite of the snow globe with the hard (now jagged) edges. Like a soft stuffed frog (no crown) it would be so cute :(((((( But really Simon giving Wille any kind of sweet simple gift would be so cute to me.
Editing to add a picture of what i am envisioning bc i’m annoying like that! Pls just imagine it !
