When you file an insurance claim, your insurance company will appoint an adjuster to manage the claim for and on their behalf. This adjuster looks after the best interests of your insurance company, not your best interests.

Insurance companies will typically pay out the minimum amount they think they can get away with.

It’s normal that insurance companies, like many other businesses, want to cut costs where possible. However, improper insurance claim denials are unacceptable.

What’s an Improper Insurance Claim Denial?

When you take out a homeowners insurance policy, you enter into a contract with your insurer. You agree to pay an insurance premium, and in exchange, your insurance company agrees to provide coverage for damages caused by certain events.

If your insurance company denies your claim for invalid reasons, they are acting in an improper manner and in bad faith. They are in effect breaching the terms of your contract.

Most insurance companies are clever enough not to deny a claim for a reason that’s obviously invalid. Instead, they hide behind the fine print. They interpret ambiguous clauses in their favor and refer to clauses that often lack clarity or details.

Water Damage

Water damage disputes typically result over whether it was caused by a “sudden and accidental” event or by “constant or repeated seepage or leakage of water or steam over a period of weeks, months, years.”

Many insurance companies have temporal or time exclusions for covered water damage claims. This, together with how they use “experts” to determine when a covered event occurred is controversial. It can lead to improper insurance claim denials for water damage.

Many homeowners don’t know the details of what their insurance company will or won’t cover.

The first step is to familiarize yourself with the contents of your homeowners insurance policy. Most homeowners insurance policies cover water damage, but that doesn’t mean all possible causes of water damage are covered.

Covered water damage claims include the following causes:

Burst pipes.

Wind, rain, and hail.

Water used to extinguish a fire.

Water damage is typically excluded for the following causes:

Floods.

Water that seeps in through the foundation.

Lack of maintenance, like a leaking old roof.

Water that backs up from sewers or drains.

It’s often possible to get additional insurance, such as flood insurance, for events that are typically excluded from a standard homeowners insurance policy.

"y/n. a word please, honey" your coach called as you were about to head to your class. you jogged over to her and she handed you a piece of paper. you scanned it and it was the routine along with the assigned flyers and such.

"i'm gonna be gone for the week, family emergency. i should be back in time for the basketball team's game but for now, you're in charge of the team" she said as you gave her a reassuring nod. you've done it before, lead the team, so this was nothing foreign to you.

"training starts later, the girls already know. i'm counting on you" she added as you smiled in return, giving her a crisp nod before walking to part ways.

"oh and y/n? the basketball team is also going to be practicing later so take advantage of that motivation" she added, emphasizing the word 'motivation' as you shook your head at her after understanding what it really meant and she gave you a teasing smirk.

great, you thought. the team would probably end up teasing you more than training for those two hours later. there was this rumor, that the basketball team's captain, levi ackerman, has been crushing on you for a while now. you and levi were friends and you talked from time to time but you didn't want to get your hopes up since you too had caught feelings for the team captain and besides, rumors are just rumors, right?

the bell rang, dismissing the entire school to go home or to tend to their extra curriculars but you were dreading the training you were about to go to. mostly because, you're gonna have to endure seeing levi all sweaty and a panting mess for those two hours.

you put away all of your things and headed to the girl's locker room to change into your cheerleading uniform before heading to the gym. the girls were already there, watching the basketball team do their training from the other side of the court.

"okay, that's enough goggling at the basketball team and get to stretching" you said, snapping them out of their amazed states as they scrambled to get started on stretching. the team had managed to learn and almost master the routine for the game within an hour of starting.

"alright. take five and we'll run the routine a few more times to fix the few mistakes here and there" you said as the girls nodded, you grabbed yourself a bottle of water and sat on the floor of the gymnasium. you took sips while your eyes wandered to the basketball team who hasn't rested once since they started training.

your eyes landed on levi, sweat covered his forehead as he panted to catch his breath before running again to steal the ball from his team mate. he looked absolutely gorgeous and you almost wondered what he would look like catching his breath while underneath y-

your rather indecent thoughts were cut short when levi's eyes locked with yours and he winked at you, heat rushed to your cheeks and you quickly looked away as a small smirk pulled at the corner of his lips at your reaction. damn it, you thought.

snickering from your team mates filled your ears as you snapped your head at them and rolled your eyes at the teasing smile plastered on their faces.

"shut up" you mouthed as they giggled and continued to watch the boys. after a few minutes of resting, you were back to training. with the remaining time before everyone had to go home, you finished the routine and fixed up every mistake.

"that's all for today, same time tomorrow" you said as you dismissed the team and they gathered their belongings before leaving the gym.

"oi, brat. good job on the routine, is that for the game?" you heard levi say as a small smile curled up on your lips upon realizing that he complimented the routine - and levi ackerman was not known to give compliments.

"it is, actually and i'm not gonna get credits for the routine it's all coach" you said with a smile and you sworn levi smiled a bit at you too.

"cheer extra loud for me at the game will you?" levi said with a wink as a blush rose to your cheeks again and looked away.

"y-yeah" you stuttered as levi clicked his tongue before going back to his training after he was called back. you watch him return to his training briefly before turning away to leave - asking yourself what the hell just happened.

the week went by with a blink of an eye. the routine was pretty much perfected and ready to be performed at the game. you and levi also had little interactions throughout the week, you're starting to think that maybe that rumor was true - or maybe he was just playing with your feelings.

you were in the locker room, getting changed in your cheerleading uniform and stretching. the girls suddenly started squealing, you looked up and saw the basketball team walk by from the small open space of the door. you saw levi walk by and you half expected him to look at you and send you a smile or something, but he didn't.

your coach nudged you on the side gently after seeing you frown and you looked up at her. a teasing smirk on her face as you rolled your eyes and she laughed.

"oh shush" you said, continuing to stretch as she began to give her usual motivational pre-game speech to the team. once she was done, the team was out in the court and getting in formation for when the basketball team gets out of the locker room.

the announcer announced the starting list of players as they ran out into the gym one by one to be met by the cheers of the crowd and the cheer team from both schools.

"number 25, the heartthrob, the captain ball of the team, levi ackerman!" the announcer said as the entire gym erupted into screams as the stoic team captain walked out into the gym.

levi looked around, seemingly searching for someone as he walked across the gym. his eyes landed on you from the sidelines as his eyes lit up so subtly that it wasn't even noticeable from the public eye.

"looks like the heartthrob has eyes on someone, is that the head cheerleader i see?" the announcer said but your head wasn't able to process his words, you attention was solely on levi's eyes that were locked with yours.

he smiled slightly at you before breaking eye contact, a blush dusted your cheeks as you bit your bottom lip to somewhat stop yourself from smiling like an idiot. at that moment, you were the definition of a school girl fangirling over her crush.

the rest of the players were announced and the game was started. the team cheered the boys on throughout the first quarter up to the second quarter. with the support from the cheer team and the audience, the team was ahead by 2 points - 25 to 27.

you were getting some water and patting down the sweat that built up on your forehead when someone tapped you on the shoulder. you turned around to see your team mate pointing to someone. you followed her finger to see levi looking at you then motioning for you to come closer.

"i just wanted some water, brat" levi said, grabbing your water bottle from your hands once you were close for him to reach. you watched as he drank from your bottle, a bit of water dripping down his chin afterwards.

"i-i'm pretty sure coach gave you some w-water" you stuttered, cheeks flushed from his little show in front of you. walls, what was this boy doing to you?

"tch. don't act like you didn't like it, brat" levi said, a small smirk pulling at the corner of his lips as you looked away and blushed profusely. damn you, levi ackerman.

you were at loss for words, staring at him. the whistle was blown, indicating the start of the third quarter. levi stood up, winking at you before heading back to the court to play. after composing yourself, you went back and grabbed your pom poms to start the routine for this quarter.

after doing the routine, you and the girls went on to cheer for whoever has the ball. jumping up and down and yelling your support at them.

"levi has the ball and he's quick to run to the ring!" the announcer said excitedly as you watched him play like a hawk. levi quickly ran to the other side of the court, dodging every player who attempted to get the ball from him.

"go levi!" you yelled at the top of your lungs, everyone's attention turned to you for a split second before turning back to the game.

"looks like mr. levi ackerman has a personal cheerleader" the announcer teased as you rolled your eyes but chuckled. levi heard you and went to shoot a three point shot, everyone was on the edge of their seats but erupted in screams when the ball went in the hoop.

"that was for you, brat!" levi yelled, pointing at you before continuing to run. you smiled as the girls nudged you on the side teasingly, you got started on the next routine before they could get carried away with teasing you.

you got ready to do a cartwheel to a backflip, taking a deep breath before doing the running start. you successfully did it but when you landed on your feet, you heard a crack from your ankle. pain shot through your body like electricity and your face contorted in distress.

"y/n! you okay?" your coach called as you turned to her, she quickly run towards you and scooped you in her arms. "i think i sprained my ankle"

"what's this? looks like the team's head cheerleader got injured. y/n is sitting on the sidelines" the announcer said as coach set you down on a bench. she called upon the team doctor to check up on your injuries and the girls came to your aid too after finishing up the routine. the team doctor gave you some ice to put on your ankle as you breathed heavily to somewhat lessen the pain.

with the amount of bodies blocking your view of the court, you had managed to peek through and saw levi's worried eyes searching for you after hearing that you got injured.

"nothing is broken, thankfully but you do need to stay off your feet for the rest of the game and ice the area" the team doc said as you nodded, the girls helped you prop your foot on top of a chair so you could ice it without having to hold the ice pack.

"levi has the ball again, he's running! he's running and oh no!" the announcer said as you looked back at the court to see levi still frantically searching for you and losing his focus in the process. the ball was taken from his hands as he lets out a frustrated sigh and continued to search for you in the sidelines.

"levi's losing his focus, he's looking for you" your team mate said as you frowned. you watched as the opposing team got multiple scores in a row, ultimately taking over the scoreboard - with levi losing his focus and with the other boys losing the guidance of their team captain, you could lose this game.

"we're gonna lose this game. it's 44 to 35" your team mate said as she looked at the scoreboard. you clicked your tongue in annoyance and looked towards your coach.

"coach. get me out there, levi's losing his focus. we're gonna lose" you said as she looked at you, considering your words before shaking her head.

"your ankle needs to rest, y/n" she said with a frown as your eyebrows furrowed and stood up from your seat, limping as you walked on your good foot while dragging the other one. you winced in pain but pushed through.

"another 3 points for the opposing team"

"i promise i'll take a break until my ankle heals after this but just now, please get me out there" your pleaded with your coach as she looked at you, thinking. she called two of your team mates and asked them to support you while you continue to cheer for levi for the rest of the game.

"fine but you're taking a break until that heals" she said as you smiled and nodded at her. you wrapped your arms around your team mates as they supported you around the waist. you were back to the sidelines with a blink of an eye.

your eyes found levi as he practically walked to get to the other side of the court, you could see how out of focus he was.

"levi! get your shit together and win this for us!" you yelled as his eyes snapped towards you once your voice reached his ears. as if you flipped a switch within him, he immediately got his focus back and went back to his game. you cheered for him despite being injured, the team was taking over the scoreboard within minutes afterwards.

in the end, your school won the game. the team celebrated the win but levi ran towards you instead. he engulfed you in his arms, being careful with your injured ankle. you were a bit taken back but wrapped your arms around him, leaning your weight a bit on him to support yourself.

"are you okay?" levi asked, pulling away but kept his arms around you. you nodded and giggled. "why? were you worried about me?"

"tch. m-maybe" levi stuttered, looking away from you as a blush tinted his cheeks. you smiled and pinched his blushing cheek softly.

"this is probably so obvious but i l-like you, a-a lot. a-actually. i didn't want to tell you since i didn't want to get my hopes up because of this rumor tha-" you rambled but got cut off by levi pressing his lips passionately against yours. you were frozen for a split second, mind turning to mush as you processed his warm lips on yours. after composing yourself, you kissed him back with the same amount of passion.

"you're an idiot, brat. you do know that, right?" levi grumbled once you pulled away from the kiss to get a much needed breath of air. you giggled, resting your head on his chest.

"yeah, sure" you said sarcastically as levi rolled his eyes and kissed the top of your head.

"i'm gonna go take a quick shower then i'll drive you home" levi said, sitting you down on a bench and you nodded. he pecked your lips one more time before heading to the locker rooms.

the girls squealed excitedly at you after levi was out of sight and crowded around you as you chuckled at them.

the team captain and head cheerleader. a damn perfect match.

Basorexia - the overwhelming desire to kiss.

CT-5555 or Fives has a problem. He wants to kiss you nonstop. Ever since the trooper locked his lips against yours over a dangerous mission, he hasn’t stop ticking about you, your lips and your whole persona. He remembers that moment very clearly.

The battle is over.

You force jump from a droid tank, beaten and bruised. You fall on your feet infront of the battalion. The men cheered for you and for themselves. Captain Rex acknowledges you, you nod back.

“General!” Someone shouts and you can’t seem to pin point the voice. Sounds like Fives, you think staring around. You spot the ARC trooper striding in your direction. You frown as the clone tugs off his helmet.

Fives drops his helmet on the floor and grabs you by your hip. One arm around your hip and the other cradling your face. He plants his lips against yours in a soft manner. You squeak, blushing in embarrassment. You punch his shoulder pad until he bites your lower lip. Drawing an adorable sound which he wouldn’t mind listening again.

You bask in the moment, closing your eyes and cradling the trooper’s face. It’s all almost perfect until it stops like a bad holovid. His vodes have started cat whistling and applauding. You pull away shyly. Clearing your throat, you turn towards the legion. The words die in your throat as you meet Rex’s gaze.

You escape the 501st teasing gaze. I’m going to kill you Fives, you think walking away from the scene.

Since that intimated encounter, the arc trooper hasn’t stop thinking about you. Yet he hasn’t seen you either. It’s like you disappeared from the whole galaxy when in fact you were still stationed aboard the Resolute.

Fives pesters Rex so he can tell him about your exact whereabouts. The blonde clone sighs irritated, he turns around to meet Fives’ pleading gaze. “I don’t know, vod” he says for the billion time and Fives doesn’t buy it. “Come on, Rex, please” begs the trooper as he follows his vod around the ship.

“Listen, vod. If I were you I’d leave the General alone” Rex snaps continuing to walk away from Fives. The trooper stands taking in his brother’s words. He frowns upon that comment. How can he leave you alone? When you’re the only thing crossing his mind each time.

“I’ll find her on my own” Fives grumbles turning away in the corridor and striding off to look for you. He just wants to see you.

The Resolute’s bridge sparks to life as troopers report to the admiral and to you. Aside from trooper you stand with your fellow Jedi partner. Anakin Skywalker. “So, how’s Fives?” He teases causing you to glare at him. Embarrassment engulfes your persona as you remember that past event traveling amongst the starship. “Ani” you warn, you trained alongside Anakin since you were padawans and now nicknames were a daily basis.

The Jedi barks a laugh grabbing the attention of some officers and the admiral included. You glare at the gazes and they turn away. The Resolute’s crew know to not get on your nerves. It looks could kill Anakin would’ve been dead by now, yet he stands laughing louder than before.

The doors to the bridge hiss open. Everyone turns around to see who is it. Fives

Dread fills your body as you turn around electing to ignore him. The trooper strides over to you. Feeling his presence you turn around. “General, May I have word with you?” He asks and you gulp staring down. “Yes Fives” you answer crossing your arms and waiting for him to speak.

“In private, ma’am”

“Oh...alright”

You walk out of the bridge with Fives in step with you. The trooper ignores the lingering gazes of his brothers and the other General.

Once you’re out of the bridge you stop walking and so does Fives. He stares at you, helmet underneath his arm by his side. You mumble some incoherent words but continue striding to your quarters. Fives decides to follow you. He has so many words dying to escape his lips. He hopes that he doesn’t make it worse this time, rather better for you and for himself.

The door to your quarters slide open, and you enter. Fives follows on suit and now the door closes. You turn around to meet his gaze. Silence consumes the two of you. You chew the inside of your cheek finding your boots more interesting than the trooper infront which you are deadass wrong.

“Listen...I’m sorry, Y/N—I mean General, I’m sorry for kissing you in the battlefield. But I am not sorry for feeling what I do. I am human, I feel just like you and what I feel right now is something bigger than us, and it’s all for you.” Fives mumbles meeting your now soft gaze. He stands now filled with regret for his actions. For embarrassing you. For kissing you. Yet he does not feel sorry for loving you.

You take in his sudden confession, blinking but still mute. Fives stares at your face and feels the worse. He decides it’ll be the best if he leaves.

There's something about Fives that makes you feel so young inside, but not in a childish way. He wakes the pure side of you, the best side, all the facets of yourself that only require love to be healthy and whole. Should you have eternity to be with this man you would sink into serenity, just content to be close.

You watch as he turns to leave. “Wait” you say loud enough to make him stop on his tracks. You part your lips to speak. “I’ve been feeling...something for a long time now Fives. But I’ve been so scared to admit it. I cannot throw away my duty but I can surely fight for you. I didn’t acknowledge it before...b-but I do now. I like you, Fives. More than a friend...” you confess looking for a signal in Fives. He blinks at you. Silence engulfes the moment and you feel like it’ll go down hill. You’re wrong.

Fives advances towards you. Suddenly you feel his breath fawning your face. You feel his gloved hands cradle your face, tilting it so you can meet his gaze. Your sight falls to his lips, tan and warm. Fives stares down to admire your lips. How he yearns to feel them, to listen your sounds once again.

His lips brush yours. Not innocently, like a tease but hot, fiery, passionate and demanding. You want to pull away before you lose myself but you can’t seem to in fact you don’t want to pull away. In this minty moment, your senses have been seduced and you can no longer think straight. “Y/N” he whispers slowly, prolonging each letter as if to savor them. You smile, your heart fluttering at his voice as you clasp your hands on either side of his face. You lean in for another kiss.

Fives wraps his arms encircling you. You taste his lips for a moment. Caf and an unknown sweet which he probably snuggled with Jesse and Hardcase on the ship. You adore it. He leans his forehead against yours in a loving manner.

“May I please kiss you again?”

“Of course, Fives” you giggle as he peppers your face with kisses until his lips meet yours again. This time in a heated battle as he leads you to your bed. Your bodies collide against each other, the hyperspace blue contrasting against your forms engulfed in a heated moment which none of you wishes to stop...
