recently saw someone's "advice for your 30s" which included something like "never get on the floor without having an escape plan for getting back up" and um. if you are otherwise able bodied and having trouble getting up from the floor in your 30s. you are very unhealthy. yes, even, if not especially, for that age.

just had an absolutely sickening conversation with a 20 year old I work with wherein I had to impress upon her that her and her friends need to be extremely cautious going to the gay clubs right now with increasing attacks happening. make sure any very young, very newly adult queer people in your life know that we're a family and community and part of that is being willing to fight for your siblings lives if they're under attack. even if it's a person you despise, you stick up for your family and they will stick up for you. we are all we have. the cops refuse to help, and so do most people outside the community. we cannot survive without each other

oh my god i forgot to post my absolute favorite strip from gay comix (issue #2, 1981)

#this collection is full of so many hilarious vignettes #between the fictional and biographical they range from hilarious to saddening but theyre all candid looks at #lgbt life in the 60s 70s and 80s #id recommend it if you're interested in older underground work #edit: for ppl who notice the opening blurb i will say this: #1. Many artists in the underground comix scene (yes the lgbt ones too) delighted in being overly provocative for the sake of it #hence the cringeworthy 'political unity is not the goal' line #2. i worried abt this too when i started going thru the issues but there are quite a few strips and comics focusing on the trans experience #that said. there are unfortunately not a lot of transgender artists involved in this collection #3. given the preceding two points i think its fair to say that a good chunk of the strips in gay comix just. Suck #but like they actually said it's important that we're capable of recognizing that a full 40 years down the line #so we can actually learn something from the life experiences the mistakes and even the lack of perspective tht sm of these artists displayed #nocturnal writings

Hello everyone. I’m Mason, 25, trans masc with he/they pronouns, and I’m looking for someone to send fun letters too! I’m also down for any type of friendship outside of this, if snail mail isn’t your style.

I’ve been struggling with depression so unfortunately I haven’t been super involved with my hobbies, but I’m hoping to bounce back and get back into them. I love drawing and painting, playing video games like minecraft and stardew valley, reading fanfiction (Homestuck, ATLA, She-Ra, and several anime), writing, and I love to cook and try my best to bake (it doesn’t work out often), as well as watching funny reality tv, Studio Ghibli, cartoons, and documentaries. I also enjoy hiking, camping, and stargazing. Plus I have a calico cat named Velma who I will happily spam you with pictures of.

My therapist suspects me being a plural system, but as that is something rather new for me to know, I’m not gonna be super great at explaining it, but I figure that just means y'all get more friends out of this arrangement?

I live in Texas and am pretty spiritual and do my best to connect with my local plants and seasons. I like to collect wildflowers, feathers, bones, and cool rocks I come across. I also collect records and enjoy tarot.

I think it’d be super nice to make a super meaningful friendship with someone where we could build meaningful connections and share our secrets and help each other grow. I’d love a long term arrangement where we can create a lasting friendship. Plus the idea of sending doodles, photos, poetry, CDs, and funny collages sounds super cool.

I’m down for friends of any age, gender, or location, though preference for 18+ and trans/gnc.
