Testing out my new 24mm lens on the Medieval Town Square set that launched to the public this weekend.

I swapped a bunch of lenses that I wasn't using anymore for this Sigma 24mm f/3.5, which I wanted for its 1:2 macro capability and compact size.

One of the lenses I traded was the Tamron 24mm f/2.8 which is half the price and a bit brighter than this one, but that 67mm filter size was too big for LEGO photography outdoors.

It got in the way a lot especially at ground level, felt bulky in my hands, and the focus was jumpy. I couldn't enjoy the shoot so I didn't use it a lot.

The Tamron wasn't a bad lens; it just wasn't a good fit for this use case, IMHO.

Gear 100% matters. If you don't like using what you have or it's a hindrance, the wrong gear can slow your growth and hurt your photography.

Change it if it's not working for you. (And buy or trade for second hand!)

I ordered some eclipse stuff for Monday.

Got an 82mm 20-stop ND filter (and a 82-67mm step down ring so I can use it on the majority of my lenses that don't have such a large filter thread size). I also got some glasses so I don't burn my eyeballs out.

Brazil – Floods in Rio De Janeiro After 67mm of Rain in 1 Hour

Storms and flash flooding struck the Rio de Janeiro Metropolitan Region in Brazil on 08 February 2023. Two people died in the storm, while dozens were rescued from flood waters. Flooding has also occurred in the Greater São Paulo Region in recent days. Authorities report one fatality and one person missing.

Η Xiaomi ανακοινώνει τη διάθεση του Χiaomi 14 Ultra, του πιο ισχυρού και εντυπωσιακού smartphone που έχει δημιουργήσει μέχρι τώρα, σχεδιασμένο σε συνεργασία με τη Leica, στην Ελληνική αγορά.

Το Xiaomi 14 Ultra διαθέτει ένα επαγγελματικό σύστημα τεσσάρων καμερών με εκπληκτική εμβέλεια εστίασης από 12mm έως 120mm. H βασική κάμερα διαθέτει μεταβλητό διάφραγμα ƒ/1.63-ƒ/4.0, και προσφέρει απρόσκοπτη προσαρμογή της έκθεσης σε διάφορες περιπτώσεις. Με έναν υπέρ-μεγέθη  αισθητήρα μιας ίντσας LYT-900 και δυναμικό εύρος έως και 14EV, η ποιότητα εικόνας είναι εγγυημένη ακόμα και σε δύσκολες συνθήκες. Το τετραπλό σύστημα καμερών συμπληρώνεται από μια floating telephotο κάμερα Leica στα 75mm, μια περισκοπική κάμερα Leica στα 120mm και μια ultra-wide κάμερα Leica στα 12mm.

Χάρη στο Xiaomi Shield Glass, η καινοτόμα οθόνη All Around Liquid Display του Xiaomi 14 Ultra επαναπροσδιορίζει την έννοια της θέασης, επιτυγχάνοντας μια συνεχή καμπύλη σε όλες τις πλευρές και γωνίες, δημιουργώντας έτσι την εμπειρία μιας flat οθόνης με τη διαδραστικότητα μιας καμπυλωτής άκρης.
