An Incredible Long Couple of Weeks. Diary of a Big Ole Gay.

Hey Whores, this is going to be a really long post because I may not have the energy to finish this this week.

So I guess I haven't done one of these in about two weeks and a lot of that is me being very busy. Last week of March I was working on like fifteen million different articles and videos and other content creation thingies and the first week of April literally started with my co-worker HAVING A MENTAL BREAK AND LEAVING TO THE OTHER SIDE OF THE LITERAL COUNTRY.

(i'm posting a funny GIF but I'm actually kinda pissed)

so instead of having a lot of great help to ease into running a full ass kitchen by myself doing 70 heads a day. I was doing this with exactly one other person doing the bare minimum to help me. It was a lot of hard work, and of course it went great. But I was extremly exhausted.

I also didn't watch that many queer films because of it.

but lets get into it.

Reflections in a Golden Eye (1967) dir. John Huston

OK so I don't remember a lot about any of these films because I watched this one in particular, *checks notes* the 27th of last month. Yeah theres a reason why theres no date on this one.

So this one I think is based on a book or something and features Marlon Brando being a CLOSET HOMOSEXUAL. oh also he stays right in that closet.

Hes like yeah I'm going to spend this entire movie staring at this naked guys ass, (yeah I'm not going to explain the plot your'll either love this movie or hate it but you can't say it doesn't have a plot), but I ain't going to act on it. I'm just going to fight with my beautiful neglected wife who beats my ass for beating her horse.

See the relationship is super toxic but its liz taylor and Marlon Brando so its also the hottest thing ever.

anyway lot of repressed homos in the background of the entire rest of the plot. One of the more fun dramas I watched cause it was MESSY!

Flesh (1968) dir. Paul Morrissey

ok so Flesh is one of those weird cineme verite movies that Morrissey made and it is very artsy and very gay but there isn't actually any guy on guy stuff. The main actor spends most of his time naked, and some of that is like eroticized but also its kinda meant to desexualize nudity. Or rather the film is using casual nudity as a way to lampshade the way we objectify people because after we see this long scene were hes just laying in bed with his dick out (relatable), we get a 5 minutes scene of him starting his day buck ass naked feeding his 1 year old real daughter a muffin. they actually use that as one of the posters

so like yeah hes naked but hes clearly not erotised in that moment in fact even though the main character is a hustler he never actually has gay sex on screen. His only client is a man who wants to draw him for like classical sculpture. Hes someone whose literally objectified scene for his body and not as a living person.

OMFG am I a film critic or something.

anyway this is another pretty cool film and especially something gay people should watch even through there isn't that much PDA.

Funeral Parade of Roses (1969) dir. Toshio Matsumoto

ok first look at this iconic photo.

Pretty this follows a bunch of transwoman in like Tokyo just honestly vibing and being faggot punks. We love, we stan, we support.

theres a lot to enjoy about this film and honestly just iconic trans woman you need to watch this. oh also all these ladies are straight so theres no gay kissing.

My Hustler (1966) dir. Andy Warhol, Chuck Wein

NOTE: This is a clip from the 1961 SPORTS THRILLER "The Hustler" but also this is pretty good dupe to the experience of My Hustler

Yeah so My Hustler is the story of a rich gay bringing a gay whore for his vacation and then having his fag hag friend and then the hustler friend show up and they all get in to this contest about whos going to fuck him. So I guess more objectification of men through the queer lens. Noone actually fucks him and its a lot of naturalistic dialogue. Its warhol you get it.

The Children's Hour (1961) dir. William Wyler

Ok so Childrens Hour is about Audrey Hepburn and her GAL PAL Shirley McClaine who run a school together. They are in fact just roommates but doesn't stop snot nose little brats from spreading rumors that like she totally saw Mrs. Hepburn drowning in pussy. So yeah they have there lives ruined and there not even dykes da fuck. Its very Tea and Sympathy in that regard about how homophobia hurts those that arn't even faggots. Y'know the innocent. /s

except it turns out that Shirley McClaine is in fact like a totally LESBIAN HAROLD. and this was the push she needed to admit how fucking gay she is for audrey hepburn, (which like we get it girl it audrey), oh and then she fucking kills herself. Thanks I hate it.

The movie up to that points pretty good.

The Leather Boys (1964) dir. Sidney J. Furie

ok so this is another British New Wave movie and it manly follows this newly married couple. And like the wife Dot, is literally the worst fucking person. She spends all her money on her hair which 1. He doens't like and 2. Doesn't even look good on her. She doesn't have a job and she doesn't keep the house. And then she won't move into his mom's house after his dad fucking dies and his mom literally can't take care of herself which like sorry girl I get if you don't like your mother-in-law but um kinda a consequence of marrying someone at some point you kinda have to deal with there parents getting old and dying. Oh also shes cheating on him. SPOILERS.

Anyway so they spend most of the time seperated while this guy sleeps with his best friend.... in like the same bed. hahaha not like in a gay way that would be ..... gay.

Also I'm totally sure his best friend isn't like a faggot or something.

Yeah, basically this guy was sleeping next to a gay guy the whole time and everytime his friend was like "omg babe lets ditch your looser wife, (can confirm she sucks), and move to america together" that he meant it in like a gay way.

and so the dude just fucking leaves. Honestly I would try sucking dick just once if I was him. You guys have a great relationship and your wifes a bitch.

The Best Man (1964) dir. Franklin J. Schaffner

just going to throw these together. Basically there both about some future were the president wants to nominate some dude and people are like ew no. also some random other person is getting blackmailed for being a faggot in the war. Yeah both of these movies have like the same exact plot.

I like The Best Man a little bit more but there both kinda awful. Also Betty White is in the first one and SHES A SENATOR. yaaaas girl.

THESE LESBIANS ARE TOXIC.

Like don't get me wrong they kiss, they suck, they fuck. Lot of Women absolutely just being the most, this is the most lesbian thing I've seen.

The theatre sadly originally closed in 1976, but thankfully a restoration project saw it come to life again in 2010 as the Paramount Center.»

Star Wars: tutti i film, dal peggiore al migliore, secondo le critica

In attesa di vedere Star Wars: L’Ascesa di Skywalker, ultimo film di una serie di nove e ultimo di una saga che si conclude con qualche spin off all’attivo, ecco quali sono i più bei film della serie, dal peggiore al migliore, secondo la critica.

Star Wars: the Clone Wars – 26.5

Il peggiore del gruppo, secondo i critici, è il film d’animazione del 2008, Star Wars: The Clone Wars (diretto da Dave Filoni), che ha cercato di colmare il divario triennale tra L’Attacco dei Cloni e La Vendetta dei Sith. Il film segue Anakin e il suo padawan, Ahsoka Tano, mentre smascherano un complotto del conte Dooku e affrontarono il suo apprendista, Asajj Ventress. Anche se uscito nei cinema di tutto il mondo, il film ha agito come una sorta di pilota per la serie animata con lo stesso nome.

Star Wars: The Clone Wars è stato tutt’altro che un successo per la stampa, con molti che hanno criticato la qualità dell’animazione e la sceneggiatura debole. Diversi critici hanno anche definito il film come una costosa pubblicità per la serie che ne è seguita. Nonostante la dura accoglienza, il film è stato un successo finanziario, incassando $ 68,3 milioni con un budget di soli $ 8,5 milioni. Il film detiene attualmente un punteggio critico del 18% su Rotten Tomatoes e un punteggio di 35 su Metacritic.

Il film d’animazione non è andato molto meglio con il pubblico. Clone Wars attualmente detiene un punteggio del pubblico del 39% su Rotten Tomatoes.

Episodio I – La Minaccia Fantasma – 52.5

La minaccia Fantasma è il capitolo in live action peggiore della saga, secondo la critica. Rilasciato nel 1999, il film ha iniziato la trilogia prequel di George Lucas, introducendo Anakin Skywalker com’era prima di essere coinvolto nelle guerra tra i Jedi e i Sith. Ha anche visto l’esordio di Darth Maul, un signore dei Sith che ha affascinato il pubblico tanto che il personaggio è stato riportato riportato indietro nell’universo espanso, nonostante fosse stato diviso in due nel terzo atto del film.

Sebbene i critici abbiano riconosciuto le molte cose che il film ha fatto bene, hanno generalmente concordato sul fatto che La minaccia Fantasma è stato penalizzato dalla sua sceneggiatura e da alcuni dei suoi personaggi, vale a dire il famigerato Jar Jar Binks . Episodio II – L’Attacco dei Cloni – 60

La trilogia prequel non ha avuto un inizio strabiliante e non è migliorata molto con l’uscita dell’episodio II. La seconda puntata, uscita nel 2002, ha continuato a illustrare l’ascesa al potere del Cancelliere Palpatine mentre spingeva Skywalker verso il Lato Oscuro facendo leva sulla perdita di sua madre e una sottotrama romantica tra lui e Padmé Amidala. Il film ha anche brevemente rappresentato l’inizio della guerra dei Cloni, menzionato per la prima volta in Una Nuova Speranza, ma l’evento è stato esplorato attraverso diverse opere animate.

Proprio come il suo predecessore, i critici avevano sentimenti contrastanti su L’Attacco dei Cloni. L’idea di una antologia è sembrata buona fino al 2018, quando Solo: A Star Wars Story (diretto da Ron Howard) è uscito nelle sale cinematografiche. Il film ha esplorato la crescita di Han Solo da bambino orfano di Corellia a famoso contrabbandiere. Non solo, ha introdotto un nuovo attore, Alden Ehrenreich, nel ruolo, ma ha anche reintrodotto Darth Maul nella serie cinematografica. In tal modo, è diventato il primo film di Star Wars a riconoscere la serie animata.

I critici in genere hanno apprezzato ciò che il film aveva da offrire, anche se nessuno di queste cose era una novità. Il film detiene attualmente un punteggio critico del 70% su Rotten Tomatoes e 62 su Metacritic. Il ritorno dello Jedi del 1983 completò la trasformazione di Luke Skywalker da immaturo ragazzo a saggio Jedi, dandogli il senso di speranza necessario per attirare suo padre, Darth Vader, lontano dal lato oscuro, liberando infine la galassia dalle grinfie dell’Impero.

I critici sembrarono apprezzare lo spirito generale del film e hanno continuato a lodare George Lucas per aver dimostrato ancora una volta una padronanza degli effetti visivi. Uno dei pochi film su cui i fan di Star Wars possono essere d’accordo è La Vendetta dei Sith del 2005, che ha completato il racconto della caduta di Anakin Skywalker verso il lato oscuro, ha rappresentato la fondazione dell’Impero e ha mostrato al pubblico il tragico annientamento dell’Ordine Jedi. I fan spesso concordano sul fatto che è stato questo film a contenere alcuni dei momenti più toccanti della saga.

I critici si sono sentiti allo stesso modo. Sebbene abbiano notato che l’episodio III era ancora pieno di difetti, pur concordano sul fatto che il film sia stato uno dei migliori lavori di Lucas come regista. Alcuni sono persino arrivati al punto di affermare che La Vendetta dei Sith è il migliore della saga. Rogue One: A Star Wars Story – 74.5

Nel 2016, il franchise di Star Wars aveva avuto una nuova vita, grazie all’uscita dell’Episodio VII. Per quanto il pubblico fosse impaziente di esplorare il futuro, c’erano ancora delle lacune nella storia originale che dovevano essere colmate. Rogue One: A Star Wars Story (diretto da Gareth Edwards) è il primo dei film di antologia. Il film ha fornito una spiegazione per quello che sembrava essere un buco nella trama di Una nuova speranza e ha fornito al pubblico un’idea di quanto la Ribellione ha dovuto sacrificare in modo che Luke potesse distruggere la Morte Nera.

Rogue One si è aperto a un’ondata di recensioni positive. Nonostante le critiche rivolte ai personaggi di breve durata e al servizio dei fan che hanno popolato il film, i critici hanno generalmente espresso che è stata un’esperienza assolutamente divertente. Il film attualmente detiene un punteggio critico dell’84% su Rotten Tomatoes e un punteggio di 65 su Metacritic.

Episodio VII – Il Risveglio della Forza – 87

Dopo dieci anni, il franchise di Star Wars è tornato nelle sale con Il Risveglio della Forza (diretto da JJ Abrams) nel 2015. Ambientato 30 anni dopo gli eventi Il Ritorno dello Jedi, il film ha introdotto nuovi personaggi: Rey, Finn e Poe Dameron.

Il Risveglio della Forza ha ricevuto il plauso della critica al momento del rilascio, con molti elogi alla nuova energia che ha portato alla serie. Il consenso sembrava essere che il film fosse abbastanza divertente per gli spettatori da ignorare completamente il fatto che la sua narrazione era essenzialmente una ripetizione di Una nuova speranza. L’episodio VII detiene attualmente un punteggio critico del 93% su Rotten Tomatoes e 81 su Metacritic.

Episodio VIII – Gli Ultimi Jedi – 88

Nel 2017, Gli Ultimi Jedi (diretto da Rian Johnson) è uscito nelle sale. Il film ha continuato la storia di Rey e Kylo Ren che combattevano per trovare la propria strada, in bilico tra il lato oscuro e il lato chiaro. La seconda puntata della trilogia del sequel vide anche il vero ritorno di Luke Skywalker, raffigurato come un eremita che viveva in esilio autoimposto a causa del suo fallimento nell’impedire a Kylo Ren di cedere al Lato Oscuro. Gli Ultimi Jedi è diventato rapidamente uno dei film più divisivi dell’intero franchise tra i fan.

I critici, d’altra parte, hanno dimostrato di apprezzare immensamente Gli Ultimi Jedi, lodando molte delle audaci decisioni creative prese – narrative, visive o di altro genere. Numerosi critici hanno predetto che il film sarebbe andato bene tra i fan, descrivendolo come un’esperienza soddisfacente. L’episodio VIII detiene attualmente un punteggio critico del 91% e 85 su Metacritic.

Inutile dire che il pubblico si è sentito in modo molto diverso. Gli Ultimi Jedi detiene attualmente un punteggio del pubblico di appena il 44% su Rotten Tomatoes.

Episodio V – L’Impero Colpisce Ancora – 88.5

Uno dei più famosi colpi di scena nel cinema moderno è venuto dagli anni ’80 con L’Impero Colpisce Ancora (diretto da Irvin Kershner). La saga probabilmente non è mai stata in grado di scioccare il pubblico così profondamente, da allora. Sebbene per nulla insignificante, questo era ben lungi dall’unico contributo importante che il secondo film di Star Wars ha dato alla cultura pop. Non possiamo dimenticare che ha anche introdotto Yoda alla serie e una spiegazione memorabile e quasi mistica della Forza, tra le altre cose.

Nonostante il consenso generale degli spettatori ora, il film ha ricevuto una risposta mista dalla critica, che ha citato come punti critici del film personaggi poco sviluppati, effetti speciali relativamente scarsi e persino una mancanza di vitalità. Naturalmente, le opinioni sono cambiate drasticamente nel corso dei decenni, con l’episodio V spesso etichettato come uno dei più grandi film di tutti i tempi. Attualmente detiene un punteggio critico del 95% su Rotten Tomatoes e un punteggio metacritico di 82.

L’Impero Colpisce Ancora attualmente possiede un punteggio del pubblico del 97% su Rotten Tomatoes.

Episodio IV – Una Nuova Speranza – 91.5

La voce più apprezzata del franchise di Star Wars è ovviamente l’originale che ha dato il via a tutto: Una Nuova Speranza. Era una storia su tre improbabili alleati portati in guerra contro il malvagio impero. Il film del 1977 è stato un lancio di dadi audace, introducendo qualcosa di completamente nuovo nel cinema con i suoi effetti speciali senza pari e la mitologia unica. Una Nuova Speranza ha contribuito ad accendere un interesse diffuso per la fantascienza che continua a crescere decenni dopo.

Al momento del rilascio, diversi critici famosi hanno paragonato il film a 2001: Odissea nello spazio, lodando gli effetti speciali e la narrazione del film. Per dirla semplicemente: George Lucas aveva creato qualcosa di rivoluzionario. Non sorprende che Una Nuova Speranza abbia vinto sette Oscar su un totale di 10 nomination. Il film detiene attualmente un punteggio critico del 93% su Rotten Tomatoes e un punteggio di 90 su Metacritic.
