OUAT Creator’s New Fairy Tale Anthology

It’s been officially confirmed that Epic (From A&E and Brigitte Hales) has been picked up as a pilot by ABC. I posted about the show back when the idea was first announced back in December 2019. 

One thing the headlines don’t mention though is that Adam & Eddy (despite being credited as creators) aren’t writing the pilot. The script is being written by Brigitte Hales who started working with Adam & Eddy during S5 of OUAT. According to the wiki, she was a “replacement” for Kalinda Vazquez who worked on the show from S2-4.

Once Upon A Time Rewatch: 7x03 The Garden of Forking Paths

Aww Sabine and Jacinda’s relationship is so sweet.

I wonder when Ella learned how to sword fight.

How did the Tremaine’s become connected to the royal family, I wonder.

Oh, Marcus stood up to Lady Tremaine and that’s why she had him killed? I thought it was just because he saved Ella and not Anastasia from the frozen lake. I guess there could have been a confrontation where he defended his actions which could have really riled her up. Or maybe he found out she poisoned Cecilia.

How is that bike still running? Gotta be magic. 

Ah, Ella did leave the glass slipper on purpose for Henry.

Omg poor Ella had no shoes! 

Did you see the way Tiana looked at Wish Hook when they met there?! She had to shake herself out of it afterwards. My Hooking Utensil heart! 

I wonder if Lucy inherited the heart of the truest believer from her dad.

Hey! It’s pretty cool that Henry is Cinderella’s Prince in this considering in the animated Disney Cinderella his name is Prince Henry! 

It’s not Ella’s fault Marcus saved her and not and not Anastasia. It’s horrible she has to live with that guilt.

Poor Ella. Stop torturing her!

I remember I thought the Anastasia in that coffin was gonna be Ana from Ouatiw but I guess that wouldn’t make any sense since she was from the original Enchanted Forest.

Did Regina see Ella about to take Henry’s heart? She would have gone into full protective mom mode.

I wonder which of Anastasia or Ella was older. I’m guessing Ella just cause of the height difference as kids. I wonder when Marcus married Cecilia. I’m guessing Ella was pretty young.

Poor Henry, having that false memory of losing his wife and daughter. That’s horrible. Wonder if that was Gothel or Drizella’s idea. Probably Drizella’s.

Oop! And there’s Gothel. She’s a freaking horrendous person but such a great villain.

I’m surprised she let Tremaine do this to her but I guess she was playing the long game and keeping Drizella happy so she’d be able to manipulate her. 

Tremaine’s scared sh*tless of Gothel lol.

OUAT 7x03 Thoughts

What an episode! It was very, very good. I thought Jacinda and Lucy exchanging letters was adorable and I love Jacinda and Sabine’s friendship. I’m really liking Tiana so far and I hope we get to see how she becomes the leader of the resistance in her centric. Wish Hook appeared to be checking out Tiana a few times, but I don’t think anything’s going to come of it. And if it does, I probably won’t be opposed to it. I loved the twist on Anastasia. It was very Once like. Like Tiana joining the resistance, I’m also interested in learning exactly what happened to Anastasia and if Cinderella (or Ella, as she goes by now) really is to blame. 

I loved Jacinda’s determination to get Lucy back. And how she fixed her mistake of burning the petition with a hope speech that Snow White would be proud of. I also enjoyed the parallel between That Still Small Voice and this episode. I understand why people would be upset about these sorts of things, but it feels like I’m watching the show for the first time and I love that. Also can we talk about the Witch? She is super creepy and I am very excited about her character. Why does Tremaine have her chained up? Both Tremaine and the Witch appear to be awake and they have a history together so that’s another thing to look forward to. 

I have one qualm about this episode, though. Where does the forking paths part of the title come in? The garden part is easy, but where is the forking path?
