Standing underneath the stream of hot water, I closed my eyes, letting the water wash away the tension in my body.
"Don't mind me. I’m just looking for something."
Upon hearing a voice, my eyes flew open as I turned my head to the side, staring at the figure rummaging through the cupboards underneath the sink.
“Wooyoung! I’m showering!”
My gaze not once leaving his crouched form.
“Yeah, so?”
“So?! So get out! The shower door is made out of glass, and I am literally NAKED here!”
Turning off the water, I reached a hand out for my towel, wrapping it around myself before stepping out into the cold bathroom air.
"Okay, what exactly is so important, that you saw the need to look for it while I was in the middle of my shower?"
Finally finding it, Wooyoung stood up from his position, holding up the item in his hand, "Sunscreen."
Staring at the bottle in his hand before looking at him, I scrunched my face up, "You barged in here for SUNSCREEN."
Shrugging, Wooyoung lowered his arm and walked out, leaving me staring after him before I followed.
"Yeah. Seonghwa's parents have this villa on the outskirts of the city, and they gave him the keys, so we plan to spend a month over there to relax. Do you wanna join us? I remember you saying that you'll be staying here for the whole summer."
Walking into my room, I shook my head, "Thanks for the offer, but I don’t really know any of the guys apart from Seonghwa, and even then, I've only had to talk to him because he needed me to pick you up after you got yourself drunk and couldn't remember where you lived. Anyways, I need to get some things sorted out first. You enjoy your little getaway."
Shutting the door, I walked over to my closet to grab some clothes.
Once dressed comfortably, I decided to make myself a drink. Walking past Wooyoung's room, I saw him pacing around the room, picking things up and stuffing them into a duffle bag.
Making my way downstairs, I walked into the kitchen and started the kettle.
As the water boiled, my mind started to wander, mentally going over the list of things I had to finish before I could actually start and enjoy my break.
My thoughts were interrupted by the doorbell ringing. Frowning, I walked over to the entrance.
Opening the door, I noticed a raven-haired man standing there, his hands stuffed in his jean pockets as his eyes wandered over the details of the front of the house. He looked familiar, but I couldn't quite pinpoint where I’d seen him before.
"May I help you?"
Startled, his gaze fell onto me, an awkward smile spreading across his face, "Oh, hey, Y/N, I'm here to pick Wooyoung up."
Realising who it was, my eyes widened slightly as I opened up the door, "Seonghwa, um, he's still packing right now, so why don’t you just come in and wait for him."
Letting him in, I led him into the living room. Eyes following him as he sat down, my brain was still processing the fact that the person sitting there was Seonghwa.
"What?"
Noticing my stare, he looked at me, confused.
Snapping myself out of the trance, I shook my head.
"Nothing. It's just that you - I didn't even recognise you until you spoke."
"The hair?"
Laughing slightly, "Yeah, I’m just used to seeing you with bright hair, it suits you though, especially the undercut."
He ran a hand over the side of his head, where the hair was shaved, "This was actually Wooyoung's idea."
"Of course it was, but I've got to admit, he does have a good eye for things like this. So, do you want a drink?"
"I'm good, thank you."
Nodding awkwardly, I looked towards the stairs, "I'm just gonna head up and tell Woo to hurry up."
Making my way up the stairs and into Wooyoung's room, "Dude, Seonghwa's here. Hurry up."
Taking in the sight inside his room, I blinked, "What the hell happened in here?"
He had clothes strewn all over the floor, some pieces hanging from the bedframe, and a few bottles of skincare thrown over his bed.
"Help. I need help."
Taking the shirt from his hand, I placed it aside before taking everything out of the duffle bag.
"You really need to start packing properly. Now, hand me the things you need. Clothes first."
Folding up the articles of clothing, I placed them into the bag. Halfway through folding a shirt, the lights and ac suddenly went off.
Looking up at Wooyoung, I saw him stare right back at me, "I'm gonna go down and call the maintenance office. You carry on packing."
Going down into the living room, I turned to Seonghwa apologetically, before picking up the community landline from the table by the couch.
"Sorry, the powers out, I'm just gonna call the maintenance people."
Dialling the office number, I waited a couple of seconds before someone picked up.
"Maintenance office, how may I help you?"
"Hello, I live in 4291 and there seems to be a power cut."
"One moment please, while I check."
While waiting, I could hear the sound of a keyboard clicking come through the phone.
"Ah, it seems that the building crew in 4290 has accidentally cut through the power line to your house."
Turning my head slightly, I couldn't help but grimace.
I don't like the sound of that.
"And, um, when will the power line be able to get fixed?"
"We sent a team down and they're saying that it will take around three to four weeks to fix as the crew also accidentally cut through a water pipe as well."
"Right, thank you."
"Sorry for the inconvenience, I hope you have a wonderful day."
Putting the phone down, I let out a sigh, "'Hope you have a wonderful day', how the hell am I supposed to do that when I've got to find somewhere to stay for a month?"
"Is everything alright?"
Remembering that Seonghwa was still here, I turned to face him with a small smile on my face, "Yeah, the building crew next door cut through a water pipe and the power line to my house. I'm just figuring out where I can stay for the time being."
"You're welcome to join us at the villa."
"Oh, um, thanks for the offer, but I don't want to intrude or anything."
"You won't. I swear. Everyone has been dying to meet you."
Thinking over the invitation, I still wasn't sure about it. I mean, okay, I've met them a couple of times before, but Seonghwa's really the only one I've actually talked to.
"What are you two talking about?"
Wooyoung made his way over with his duffle bag in hand.
"Y/N will need somewhere to stay for a while because the power line got cut by accident, but she doesn't want to come to the villa with us."
"Oh, come on! It'll be fun! You'll meet the guys and everything!"
Weighing the pros and cons, I let out a defeated sigh, "Okay, fine, give me a minute while I pack."
Rushing up the stairs to my room, I grabbed a large carry-on bag and started to put pieces of clothing, skincare and other necessities into it. Once everything was packed, I quickly changed into a pair of jeans and a tank top, before proceeding to put my laptop and chargers into a backpack.
Tying a plaid shirt around my waist, I grabbed the bags and made my way down.
"Okay, I'm done."
Locking the front door, I threw my stuff into the boot and climbed into the backseat.
Tumblr media
Pulling into the driveway, I looked at the building coming into view. It was a large two-storey stone villa, encased in tall purple beech trees. I could see a couple of the guys sitting on the porch talking, and upon seeing the car, came running towards where we stopped.
Stepping out of the car, I was immediately tackled by one of them. He was tall and had a couple of pieces of his hair dyed red around his forehead.
"You must be Y/N, Wooyoung has never stopped talking about you."
Awkwardly patting his back, I spluttered slightly to speak, "Um, yeah, right, that's me, could you like, maybe, let go? You're kinda - "
"Mingi, you're strangling the poor child."
Finally released, I looked back at Seonghwa, offended, "Child? Really? Child?! I'm only a few years younger than you."
Reaching a hand to pinch my cheek, Seonghwa smiled, "Exactly. Child."
Rolling my eyes, I swatted his hand out of the way.
As you can see. We've become closer during the 2-hour drive.
Putting an arm around me, Wooyoung looked at the guys, "Y/N, the one who tried to suffocate you is Mingi and the other one is Yunho. Guys, this is my bestest best friend, Y/N."
Blinking, I turned to look at Wooyoung with a teasing smile, "Wooyoung, sweetie, bestest isn't a word."
Hearing one of them snort, Wooyoung rolled his eyes as he removed his arm, "Well it is to me."
Smiling, I took my bags from Seonghwa, "Just leave him here as he pouts, could you show me to the room I will be staying in please?"
Walking through the entrance, I was greeted by, well, a screech.
Wincing slightly, I turned to Seonghwa who, like me, was also cringing, "I – What is that?"
"Uh, I'm not too sure."
Poking our heads into the living room, a guy with half-dyed hair stood there, grumbling to his phone as he reached a hand up to rub his ear, "Thank you so much, I think you just deafened me in my right ear."
Hanging up the phone, he turned around, startled to see us standing there, "Oh, you're back."
Turning his gaze onto me, he smiled, "Nice to finally meet you, I'm Hongjoong."
"Y/N."
Seeing him reach out a hand, I did the same, expecting a handshake or something. What I didn't expect was to be pulled into a hug.
Letting out a surprised yelp, I let him hug me, "Oh, um, you guys are huggers. I -"
Moving back to Seonghwa, he asked, "Is San not here yet?"
Hongjoong shook his head, "No, he says the person filling in for him at the café won't be able to make it until later this afternoon, so he's not going to be able to get here until 5."
"Yeah, no that's fine."
Leaving the living room, I followed Seonghwa upstairs and down the right corridor, stopping at the end.
"This'll be your room while you're here, I'll let you get settled in and then you can come down and join us if you want."
Entering the room, I noticed that it was quite similar to a hotel room. A king-sized bed draped in white sheets stood against the right wall; a large TV propped direct on the wall across it. To the right of the bed was a door leading into a small walk-in closet that was joined to the bathroom. To the left was a wooden framed floor-to-ceiling Palladian window, next to it was a grey armchair and ottoman with a small wooden coffee table placed by the armrest.
Putting my bag in the closet, I reached for my backpack and got my laptop out before settling in the armchair.
Turning it on, I saw that I had some emails from the head of the PR department of the family company. Clicking into them, I sighed as I read through everything.
Better get this over and done with so I can relax later.
Tumblr media
Stretching, I looked at the last document I had to change, pausing slightly when I remembered that I had slipped the folder with the information into Wooyoung's bag.
Tumblr media
Hearing a knock, I yelled, "Yeah!"
Not looking up, I expected Wooyoung to come in.
"Um, hi."
Hearing a foreign voice, I raised my head and was met by a blond man.
"Wooyoung told me to give you this?"
Seeing him hold out the folder, I scrambled to my feet and took it from him with a small smile, "Thank you. I'm Y/N by the way."
He let out a small laugh, "I know. Wooyoung never shuts up about you. I'm San. I'm just next door, so if you need anything, just knock."
Seeing him leave, I sat back down.
Huh.
Shaking my head, I reverted my attention back to the document I had open. Quickly opening up the folder, I went over everything and started to change the document accordingly.
Half an hour later and a corrected document sent off, I shut off my laptop and stood up, finally finishing everything. Reaching for my phone, I saw that it was already 6, so I made my way downstairs.
Following the chatter, I entered the living room, finding everyone in there.
San, who was sitting by Wooyoung, was the first one to notice me, "Oh, hey! You're out."
With a small smile, I made my way over to them and sat next to Wooyoung, who put an arm around my shoulder, squeezing me against him.
"Ah, almost thought I had to go up there and drag your ass down."
"Just needed to finish some things up, that's all. "
After introducing me to Yeosang and Jongho, Hongjoong came in, holding a tall stack of pizza boxes.
Arching a brow, I asked Wooyoung to help me grab a couple of slices because I could not, for the ever-loving god, squeeze myself between them as they were surrounding the coffee table like a pack of starving wolves.
Taking the paper plate, I looked up, "Please tell me we're not just going to be eating takeout for the next month."
Swallowing the pizza, San, who was now to my right, motioned his head towards Wooyoung and Seonghwa, "To be honest, Wooyoung and Seonghwa are the only ones who can cook, and even then, it kinda depends on the day."
With a mouth full of pizza, Wooyoung pointed to me, "Y/N's a great cook! She can help out."
Ignoring what he said, I blinked towards him, staring at him blankly, "You can cook? You mean to tell me that during the entire time of you staying with me, you could've helped me with dinner?"
Sheepishly, Wooyoung took a sip of coke, "I mean, yeah? But your cooking is just so good! I didn't want to ruin it by accidentally adding too much salt or something."
I'm telling you, if looks could kill, Wooyoung would currently be lying in a coffin buried underneath six feet of soil.
After finishing our dinner, we just sort of relaxed on the couch, talking.
Halfway through a conversation with San, I felt Wooyoung elbow me in the ribs.
"What?"
"We're all gonna go and relax by the pool, you wanna join us?"
Pausing, I thought over it. Relaxing by the pool sounded nice, however, I didn’t exactly have a good relationship with water.
"And I know what you're thinking. You'll be surrounded by eight excellent swimmers; we're not going to let you drown. And maybe you'll learn how to swim by the end of the trip."
"Wait, you can't swim?"
Scratching the top of my head, I turned back to San, "I mean, I can, like, float?"
Wooyoung decided that he needed to put some input through, so he pushed my head aside, "Yeah, barely."
"Woo, leght goo uf meh."
"What?"
Frowning, he turned back to look at me, only to find that he had pushed my face into the backrest of the couch. Sheepishly, he let go of my head and smoothed my hair down, ignoring the glare I was sending him.
"Sorry. So, what do you say?"
"Okay, yeah, fine. Just never do that again."
Retreating back into our rooms, we all changed into swim suites.
"You done?"
Turning, I saw Wooyoung pop his head in.
"You really have to learn how to knock. What if I was in the middle changing or something?"
Plopping himself onto my bed, he turned onto his stomach and watched me walk around, "Well, I mean, it's not like I've never seen you naked before."
Pulling a t-shirt over my head, I rummaged through my backpack, "Seeing me naked when I was 5 does not count."
"Uh, this morning?"
Pulling a book out from my bag, I chucked it at him.
"Shut up."
He picked up the book, and turned over, propping himself up on his elbows, lazily flipping through the pages, "So, when are you getting a boyfriend? I mean, you've got seven, eight if you include me, very attractive guys who you'll be living with for a month, do you not want to at least jump one," Pausing, he looked at me and wiggled his eyebrows, "or a few of them?"
Feeling heat creep up my neck and across my face, I looked at him, horrified.
"Dude!"
"What? I mean it's perfectly understandable if you- "
Plucking the book out of his hands, I jumped onto him, using one hand to cover his mouth and the other to help pin his arms under my knees.
"Stop. Oh, my god, you’ve got no filter between your mouth and brai -"
Hearing a knock, the door opened, "Hey, have you seen Wooyo – oh."
San stood at the door with Seonghwa by his side, both of them looking equally stunned. Snapping out of his trance, Seonghwa tugged on San's arm, pulling him away.
"You two carry on. We'll wait by the pool. Don’t take too long."
Hearing the door click shut, I looked down at Wooyoung, eyes wide. The moment our eyes met, he burst out into laughter while I rolled off of him to lie down, covering my face with my arms.
"Oh, my god. No." I whispered. "Did you see their faces? They think we're dating. Or like sleeping with each other or something."
"It'll be fine. Now come on, I want to go swimming."
Pulling me up with him, he led me down to the pool area.
Walking towards the guys, we caught onto the last part of Seonghwa's sentence, "- on top of him."
Smacking Wooyoung's chest, "This is your fault."
Offended, Wooyoung gawked at me, "How is it my fault that -"
"That was quick."
Sitting down, on one of the chairs, I could feel all of their eyes on us.
"Okay, what?"
Seonghwa, who was now leaning forward, "You and Wooyoung?"
Grimacing, I shook my head, "No."
Arching a brow, San joined in, "You were just on top of him."
Pulling his shirt off, Wooyoung sat down next to San, "That's because I asked if she wanted to ba-"
Eyes widening, I leapt forward and kneeled over his leg to cover his mouth, completely forgetting that he was next to San, "No, no, don't start again. We do not speak of this again."
Seeing him nod, I released him and let out a sigh of relief.
Hearing some of the guys snicker, I looked behind and saw Hongjoong and Yeosang standing there.
"What?"
Yeosang motioned to the position I was in, "You might want to reconsider that position."
Confused, I looked down and realised that not only was I kneeling over one of Wooyoung's legs, but San's as well.
Scrambling back into the seat behind me, "Sorry."
Seeing some of the others entering the pool, San and Wooyoung stood up as well.
Wooyoung extended his hand out to me, "You coming?"
"Yeah, just give me -" Hearing my phone ring, I looked down and noticed it was someone from the company. "You go first. I need to answer this."
Picking up my phone, I walked over to the side, watching the guys splashing around.
"Alex?"
"Hey, boss."
Cringing at the name, "I'm not your boss."
"Well, you're his daughter and you're dealing with this branch of the company, so you are for now."
"Fine. Whatever. Why are you calling? You're supposed to be off work."
"Uh, well, I just dropped by your house to give you some documents and you're not there."
"Oh, right. I forgot to tell you. I'm at a villa on the outskirts of the city with some friends right now. I'll be back in a month. I'll send you the address, you can just mail whatever is needed to me."
"That works. I'll let you relax then."
Hanging up, I quickly sent him the address before taking off my shirt and making my way to the edge of the pool.
"Erm, guys? How deep is this pool exactly?"
Slowly walking down the steps, I put my hand on the shoulder of the closest person, who just happened to be Hongjoong.
Taking my hand, "You'll be fine. I've got half of my chest exposed here, so you won't drown. As long as you don't go to the left side of the pool. The water's deeper there."
Walking me into the pool, he passed me to Wooyoung and as soon as he did, I saw a mischievous glint in his eye. Having been around him my whole life, I knew what that meant.
"Wooyoung. Don't you dare! I swear to God if you -"
Wooyoung hooked his arm around my waist and pulled me down, submerging me under the water.
Spluttering, I surfaced splashing some water in Wooyoung's direction.
"Oh, come on, it's not that bad."
Simply giving him a look, I wrapped myself around him, trying to bring him down. After some wrestling, my attempts were feeble and we were now on the deeper end of the pool.
Well, maybe not for Wooyoung. His feet were still touching the floor of the pool. Mine weren't.
Realising this, I secured my legs around his waist and wrapped my arms around his shoulder, "How about we go back to the safe zone?"
Smiling up at him expectantly, my face fell when he smirked, "How about no. It's time for your lesson." Turning his head to the side, he removed a hand from my thigh and waved to San. "San! Could you come here for a second?"
I watched as San swam over to us.
Oh wow. He was a really good swimmer. It looked so easy for him.
"What's up?"
"You think you could teach her to swim?"
He looked at me before nodding, "Sure."
Reaching his arms out, he smiled, "Come on, sweetheart, I'm not gonna let you drown, don’t worry."
Upon hearing the sudden nickname, Wooyoung let out a snort, though his arm did tighten around me, "You keep calling her those, you'll never be able to get rid of her."
San simply shrugged, "I don't mind."
Arching a brow, Wooyoung looked between us, "Are you – You know what? Never mind."
Reaching a hand out, I held onto San's shoulder, one of his arms immediately coming to my waist, making sure I didn't go under.
Latching myself onto San, I could see Wooyoung standing beside us with an odd expression.
"I don't think I trust San to teach you how to swim anymore. Maybe I should -"
Scoffing, I looked at him, "Just go. You wanted me to learn how to swim, so let me learn in peace."
I watched as he reluctantly swam away before giving my full attention back to San.
"Okay. What am I supposed to do?"
"How about unwrapping your legs from my waist for starters?"
Swallowing thickly, I carefully unwrapped my legs, my arms tightening around his neck in the process.
"Woah, ease up on the grip. Okay. Now unwrap your arms from my neck and slide them down, so you're holding onto my arms."
Giving him a look, "Are you trying to kill me here?"
San threw his head back laughing, "Just trust me."
Staring into his eyes, I could see the sincerity in them. So, with a sigh, I did as told.
"I swear, if you let go and I end up plummeting down to the bottom of the pool, I'm going to come back and haunt you."
"Now move both hands to my left so I can hold onto you as you float."
Kicking my legs up, I could feel one of his hands on my stomach.
"There, now relax. And let go of my arm."
Letting go of his arm, I gradually relaxed. I was floating for a while until I realised that he no longer had a hold on me. Panicking, I flailed around and choked on some water before San scooped me up.
Latching myself onto him, I could hear the rest laugh on the other side as I spluttered.
"I hate you."
Giggling, San walked us back to the shallow side, "I think that's enough for today. Here's your friend back."
Tumblr media
Stepping out of the bathroom, I ran a hand through my damp hair, trying to get rid of the knots.
"What are you doing in here?"
Wooyoung was currently sitting under the blanket in my bed, scrolling through the tv channels.
"Oh, you've finished. Come join me."
Getting in next to him, "Okay, you do know this is my room, right?"
"Yes, now," Bringing his attention back to me fully, "San."
I don’t think I've ever been this confused in my life.
"San? What about San?"
"He was flirting."
Scrunching up my nose, I shook my head, "No he wasn't, he was just being friendly."
"Yeah, well, I think he was being a little too friendly for my liking."
Sitting up against the headboard I looked at him properly, "Weren't you the one who said something about jumping some of their bones earlier?"
"Yeah, and once I saw San flirt with you, I threw that idea right out of the window. None of them will be going anywhere near you."
I couldn't help but laugh at the pout on his face, "Okay, but like, what if, and I'm just saying what if here. I liked it."
Wooyoung blinked at me slowly before he deadpanned, "You think he's cute, don't you?"
"Woo, to be fair, all of your friends are VERY attractive."
"I now regret persuading you to come with me. It’s like putting a little lamb into a cage full of hungry wolves."
Lying back down, I laughed as I pointed a finger to the door, "Don't you have a room to get back to?"
He simply grinned down at me before reaching a hand out to turn the lights off.
"No. I think I'll just stay here to make sure you don't sneak out or something. Goodnight."
"What am I? 15?"
Dumbfounded, I watched as he turned his back to me and closed his eyes.
The hell?
I scrolled through my phone for about 15 minutes and then a sound suddenly broke through the silence. Snoring. Wooyoung was snoring. I completely forgot that he snored in his sleep if he had a tiring day.
Great. Now I definitely can’t sleep.
Sighing, I clicked open my contact list.
Tumblr media
Carefully peeling off the blanket, I slowly made my way to the door. Gently opening it, I could see San leaning against the wall, raising a brow when he saw me creep out. Closing the door behind me, I breathed out in relief.
"Well, you don't look suspicious at all."
Chuckling softly, we made our way down the corridor, "Oh, hush. Where's his room, anyways?"
"It's downstairs, follow me."
Making our way downstairs, San pointed towards a corridor by the kitchen entrance, "His room's the last one down there. Now I'm gonna grab a drink. You coming or?"
Following him into the kitchen, I watched as he opened the fridge in search of a drink. Grabbing a mug, I opened up the cupboards looking for some tea bags. Finally finding them in a cupboard underneath the kitchen island.
Turning on the kettle, I put a green tea pouch in the mug before pouring the boiling water into it.
Keeping the pouch in, I went out into the living room and sat down on the couch next to San, tucking my legs underneath myself as I faced him.
"So, you wanna tell me why Wooyoung's sleeping in your room?"
Huffing out a laugh after remembering what he said, "It was something about making sure I didn't sneak out or something."
"What? Does he think you're gonna go on a late-night getaway with one of us?"
Snorting, I realised that Wooyoung's worst fears may have just come true, "Yeah, he was especially worried about you."
"Kinda ironic seeing as we're out here talking huh? But why me?"
Untucking my legs, I stretched them out a bit, "He thought you were flirting with me earlier."
"I mean, he wasn't wrong about that."
Stopping mid-sip, I peered at him over the rim of the mug, "Oh? I see."
Allowing him to pull my legs over his lap, "I mean, c'mon, I've seen you all over his social feeds and you pick him up when he gets drunk, plus the way he spoke about you? He made all of us want to get to know you."
"And did I meet your expectations?"
Rubbing his thumb on my ankle, a lazy smile formed on his lips, "You exceeded them, princess."
Choking slightly on the tea, I waggled my finger at him as he let out a small giggle, "No. Stop that. Put those charms away."
"Oh, so they're working then?"
"Yes, and a little too well if I must say."
Leaning his head back, he looked at the ceiling, "Well, now that I know that you aren't dating Wooyoung, the charms won't be going anywhere."
"You really thought that?"
He raised his head to give me a look, "Okay, you sitting on his stomach as you pinned his arms down did not help."
"I've known him since I was born. We basically had, scratch that, have two homes. Our parents are close, literally grew up with two sets of parents. It's just how we are."
Setting the mug down, San and I continued to talk, throwing in some flirty comments here and there.
Tumblr media
Hearing hushed whispers, I stirred slightly in my sleep, causing an arm to tighten around me.
"What are you guys looking a – aw hell."
Feeling someone shake my shoulder, I shifted.
"Y/N. Wake up."
Cracking my eyes open, I saw Wooyoung standing above me, the rest of the guys somewhere behind him.
"Okay, up, up. Up you get."
He removed San's arm from around my waist and pulled me up before stuffing a pillow into San's arms.
Barely awake, I was dragged into the kitchen by Wooyoung, the others trailing behind us, wanting to watch the drama unfold.
Sitting me down on a bar stool, Wooyoung stood on the other side of the island, looking at me with an arched brow, "The whole point of me staying in your room last night was to make sure you didn't sneak out. Now, how the hell did you get out?"
"Dude, you started snoring 15 minutes in. I couldn't sleep, so I asked San to bring me to your room. Coming down here, we realised we weren't exactly tired, so we got a drink and just talked for a while. I don't even remember falling asleep."
Wooyoung squinted his eyes before he pointed a finger at me, "I'm gonna be keeping an eye on you, young lady."
Rolling my eyes, I waved him off and laid my head down, "Yeah, yeah. And you wonder why I've been single my whole life."
Closing my eyes for a bit, I tried to regain some brain function.
"Mornin'."
Hearing San enter the kitchen, I raised my head slightly, taking a peek at Wooyoung.
"You!" Wooyoung pointed a spatula at San, "You slept with my best friend!"
Groaning, I could hear San spluttering as Jongho sighed from beside me, "Dude, just let it go. They fell asleep on the couch. Fully clothed. Nothing happened."
Standing up, I went around the island, taking the spatula from Wooyoung and shoving it into Seonghwa's hand.
"Come with me."
Yanking Wooyoung into the backyard, I slide the glass door shut.
"Okay, what's your problem?"
Crossing my arms, I just stood there, staring at him.
"Nothing. It's just, you’re a child, you -"
Unfolding my arms, I realised what he was doing, "I'm not a child anymore Woo. I'm all grown. I know you're protective of me, but you can't keep doing this to every person who shows the slightest interest in me. What if I actually like them?"
Hanging his head in defeat, Wooyoung caved in, "Fine. But if something bad happens, just know there'll be an 'I told you so' waiting for you."
"Yeah, yeah, now, breakfast."
Walking back inside, I took a seat next to San, who leaned into my ear, "I take it he wasn't too fond of our late-night talk?"
Grinning, I put a hand on his arm, "I think he almost had a stroke."
Just as San opened his mouth, a voice broke through.
"I know I said that I wouldn't meddle, but can you not do this over my waffles?"
Turning to Wooyoung, we saw him hold up his plate before setting it down.
Holding back a laugh, San and I shared a look before starting our breakfast.
Tumblr media
Over the past two weeks, I had gotten closer to all of the guys and, much to Wooyoung's dismay, especially a certain dimpled, blond barista. Which is also how I found myself sitting at the in-house bar at the villa, at 1 in the morning, watching him struggling behind the bar.
"I'm sorry, you want a what?"
Laughing, I made my way behind the bar to help him, "A Negroni cocktail, come on, let me show you."
Filling an old-fashioned glass with some ice, I poured in 1 shot of gin, sweet vermouth and Campari. Taking out an orange, I sliced them into quarters before peeling a slice, twisting the peel over the cocktail before placing it in.
Placing it on the counter, I slid it over to him, "Try it. If you don't like it, I'll make you something else."
Watching him take a sip, I saw him cock up an eyebrow, "This is strong."
After seeing him take another sip, I started to make one for myself, "I know, that's why I normally only have one and then switch to a gin and tonic or just a wine, though not red, I don't really like red wine outside of using it for cooking."
Coming out from behind the bar, I saw San stand up, the drink in hand and the other coming up to grab a hold of mine.
"Come on."
Pulling me into the backyard, I watched as San put his drink by the jacuzzi and start to strip.
"And what exactly are we doing?"
"We," He said as he took off his jeans and stepped into the warm water, "Are going to relax, now, come join me."
Placing the drink beside him, I took off my t-shirt and shorts, leaving me in my underwear.
Settling myself beside him, I took a sip of the cocktail and leaned my head back onto his arm that was behind me, looking at the stars.
"It's really beautiful here. Away from the noise and bright lights of the busy city."
"Yeah, it really is."
I heard him say softly, not realising that he was still looking at me.
Turning to look at him, I met his gaze, "What?"
San shook his head, smiling, "Nothing, just enjoying the view."
Grinning, I placed the glass down and turned to him fully, "The view, huh? In my direction?"
A lazy grin spread across his face as he reached an arm around my waist, pulling me closer, "Well, you are very pretty."
Maybe it's because of the alcohol or maybe it's because I wanted to see how this would play out, I felt a surge of confidence.
Straddling his lap, I wrapped my arms around San's neck, leaning down until the tip of our noses touched.
"Am I now?"
His eyes flicked down to my lip before meeting mine, "Yeah."
Tilting his head up, San closed the space between us. The kiss was gentle, as if he was afraid I'd break if he was rougher. One of his hands moved up, cupping my jaw as he deepened the kiss.
"Ahem."
Breaking apart, I looked towards the door, groaning when I saw who it was.
"Oh, for the love of -"
San, who had his head resting on my shoulder, breathed out a laugh.
Exasperated, I looked at the intruder, "Wooyoung."
"Oh, don't mind me, carry on doing what you were doing."
Sighing, I stood up, downing the drink, "I think I'm gonna head back in."
Kissing San's cheek, I looked at him, "You coming?"
He shook his head, "I'll stay for a bit."
Stepping out, I grabbed a towel, sending Wooyoung a warning look before I headed back inside.
Tumblr media
Walking down the stairs in the morning, I was confused as to why San was there with his luggage.
Taking the last steps down, I tilted my head at him, "What are you -?"
"Can we talk?"
Seeing how serious he was, I quickly nodded, "Yeah, sure."
He led me into the kitchen, away from prying eyes before turning to face me.
"You're Y/N L/N?"
Nodding, I was confused as to where this was going.
"Your family owns L/N corporations, right?"
"Yeah? What does this have to do with anything?"
"It has everything to with it! Why didn't you tell me sooner?"
Frowning, I wasn't sure what was going on, "What? That I'm a L/N? I didn't see the need for it. Why is it so important?"
He made his way out, pausing slightly to look at me, "If I had known, I wouldn't have gotten close to you."
Watching him walk away, I looked down at the table, tears burning at the back of my eyes.
I felt hurt, and angry, but also confused. Why would he react so badly after knowing my last name? It made no sense. Turning around, I looked out into the backyard, trying to piece things together. Eyes landing on the jacuzzi, something clicked in my brain.
Marching into the living room, I went straight to Wooyoung.
"Hey, I know San had to leave early but he -"
"What did you say to him?"
Wooyoung looked up at me, genuinely confused, "What?"
From the corner of my eye, I saw Seonghwa and Hongjoong move closer to me, in case I decided to do something.
"What did you say to him last night? After I left."
"Nothing. He asked some things about you and I just answered, that's it -" Pausing, his eyes widened as he suddenly looked over to the others, "Oh, God."
"What?"
"I am so sorry."
And for the second time in the past 30 minutes, I didn’t know what was going on, "Wooyoung, what the hell are you talking about?"
Pulling me down beside him, Wooyoung held one of my hands between his, "Look, when we were talking last night, I told him things about you and I forgot to elaborate on some things."
Shaking my head, I wasn't following.
"In our last year of high school, San dated this rich girl, um, Lim Haejin? Chaejin?
“Lim Chaerin.”
"Yeah, that's her. Wait. You know her?"
"Unfortunately. Now, carry on."
"Well, they dated for about 2 years. They broke up because when he met her parents, they didn't approve of him as a son-in-law because he didn't grow up in a rich family. After that, he sorta got it in his head that all rich people are the same and they could never see their child date someone in a working-class family."
"Last night, I forgot to say your parents weren't like that. That they only cared for your happiness."
Staying silent, I processed everything he just said.
"He really likes you, okay? I've never seen him like that with anyone else. I'll help you get him back."
Glaring at him with no actual heat, I pointed a finger at his chest, "You better, I feel different around him."
Tumblr media
Two weeks had passed since that day and we were all back home. Wooyoung was still trying to help me with San.
It was about 10 in the morning and I was out with Alex, inspecting some of the cafés and restaurants under the company. We only had one more on the list. Café Sempre. Not many knew that it was under L/N Corporations.
It was a tiny coffee shop that I had opened a few years ago because it was my dream to open one and over the past couple of years, my time spent there grew shorter until I no longer went at all.
Walking into the coffee shop, I was hit by the smell of roasted coffee beans and freshly baked pastries. The café was empty at the moment. The rush hours here were about 2-3 pm and then 8-9 pm.
"Y/N!"
As soon as I heard the yell, a bundle of bright colours appeared in my arms. Smiling, I wrapped the smaller woman in a tight hug.
"Crissy! It's been too long."
Christina, or Crissy as she preferred, came into my house when I was 8 and she was my favourite nanny growing up. She's only 12 years older than me and we always acted like sisters. That's why I trusted her enough to look after the café when I opened it. Plus, she always loved to bake.
Waving Alex to go back to the company, I sat down with Crissy at one of the tables.
"Oh, we have a new barista, well, new to you anyway. He came about 2 years ago, a little after you started helping out your dad at the company."
"Yeah? Is he here now?"
"Let me get him."
I watched as she bounded around the corner and into the back, presumably to get the new guy.
"Come. Meet your boss."
Looking up, the smile I had on my face was frozen.
"Y/N, this is -"
"San."
Looking at him, I saw him freeze before he rushed to the back.
"I've got something on the stove."
He muttered before he was out of sight.
"You guys know each other?"
Crissy sat down, a knowing smile on her face.
"Yeah, he's one of Wooyoung's friends. We grew close on a trip I had with them. Until he knew I was a L/N."
Placing a hand on top of mine, "Everything will be fine. Just talk it out. Plus, he still cares about you. You may not have seen it, but I did. His eyes lite up a bit when he saw you."
Hearing the bell chime, Crissy stood up, "He's working both shifts today, maybe that'll help you."
With that in mind, I walked back to the company feeling better. Maybe we can sort things out between us.
Tumblr media
It's about 10 in the evening and the café closes at 10.30, meaning they're cleaning up right now.
Walking in, Crissy saw and then picked up her bag, "I'm gonna head home now, so you two can talk. Good luck."
Squeezing my arm, she left.
Looking around, I noticed there were still some things that needed to be done, so putting down my bag and blazer, I rolled up my sleeves.
Making my way over to the espresso machine, I started cleaning.
"Hey, Crissy, do you need me to -"
Looking up, San was standing at the corner.
"San."
Putting the milk jugs in the sink, I quickly made my way over to him before he could leave.
"Can we talk? Please?"
San looked like he was about to refuse, but after pausing, he agreed.
Sitting at one of the tables, I thought over what I should say.
"If you have nothing to say, I'm leaving."
"No, wait!" Reaching a hand out, I panicked. "Look, I'm sorry for not telling you, but I really didn't see the need to. Wooyoung told me the reason why you reacted that way, and I just want to say, my parents aren't like that. They don't care about things like social statuses. If they cared about that, they wouldn't be good friends with Wooyoung's parents."
San just sat there, silent. His eyes scanning my face, looking for any signs of lying.
"So, could we start again? Please?"
Looking into his eyes, I wanted nothing more than for him to say yes.
-6 months later-
Stepping out of the car, I looked at the house I grew up in, before turning to the man beside me.
"Sannie, relax, they're going to love you!"
Smoothing down the front of his shirt, I undid a couple of San's buttons.
"Hey!" He smacked my hands away, redoing the buttons, "I need to look presentable."
"Oh, come on, Wooyoung lounges around with half of his buttons undone. They won't even blink an eye at two."
"Well, princess," San pulled me into his arms, placing a kiss on the tip of my nose. "Wooyoung's not the one dating their precious daughter, is he?"
Giggling, I had to admit, he wasn't wrong.
Walking up the steps, I gave San's hand one last squeeze.
"Ready?"
"As ready as I'll ever be."
Ringing the doorbell, my mum opened it almost immediately.
"You're here!"
She pulled me into a hug before my dad took me into his arms.
"And you must be San!"
Turning around, I saw my mum hugging San. Laughing slightly when I saw his eyes widen in surprise.
Making our way over to the dining room, I sat down next to San, placing a hand on his thigh in an attempt to calm his nerves.
"So, you're the San my daughter's been head over heels for?"
I could see San panic slightly at my dad's question.
"Yes, sir."
My dad arched a brow at the name but made no comment about it.
"And what exactly do you do?"
"Oh, um," San looked at me from the corner of his eye as he gave my hand a squeeze. "I actually work at Café Sempre."
"Oh. did you two meet there?"
Before my dad could ask any more questions, my mum cut in.
"I'm a friend of Wooyoung's. We met through him."
Keeping the conversations casual over dinner, it didn't take long for San to relax.
"We're gonna head home, yeah? We've got to go to the café early tomorrow morning."
Hugging my parents, I went back to the car.
"San, a word please."
My dad put a hand on San's shoulder, pulling him aside. Chuckling when he noticed San starting to fidget.
"It's nothing bad. I just want to say thank you, for making Y/N happy."
Sighing in relief, San smiled, looking back to where I was by the car, "You don't have to thank me, sir. Seeing her happy makes me happy. And I'll try my best to do so for as long as possible."
Patting him on the shoulder, my dad let him leave.
"Oh, and San? Don't call me sir."
Getting ready for bed later that night, I couldn't help but kneel beside San as he put on the tv.
"How was it? The dinner. They weren't too overbearing or anything, right? They can be -"
"Princess," San snaked an arm around my waist, pulling me onto his lap. "It was great. They were great."
Melting into his embrace, I wrapped my arms around him.
"That's good. I was worried that you'd go running for the hills after."
Chuckling, San tightened his grip, nudging my cheek with his nose.
"Never. You're kinda stuck with me now."
Letting go, he reached to turn the lights off.
"Come on, we've got an early day tomorrow."
Lying down, I cuddled into San's side, feeling one of his hands cup my cheek.
"I love you. So, so, much."
Oh? That's new.
Nuzzling against his hand, I kissed his palm.
"I love you, too."
"Oh, thank god."
Putting a hand on his chest, I looked up at him, "What? Did you think I wouldn't say it back?"
"That pause made me second guess myself."
"Well don't. I love you, very, very much."
I leaned up, kissing him in between every word.
"Good night, princess."
Humming, I closed my eyes. Maybe he really is the one after all.

Tumblr media
Tumblr media
8000系とはまた違い東芝製の床下機器がいい味を出している。
なんていい日なんだろう。
そう思いながらエスカレーターで二階に行って
カリヨンの下を通り、いつもの変わらない一日を始めた。

(( Hey gang, as some of you may know. I’ve been dealing with some personal/work related stuff. As much as I want to write my body and mind hasn’t been cooperating with me lately bc of the amount of work-related burn out I feel, and it’s messing me up mentally and emotionally. So if I’m a bit radio silent for the next few days on my blogs, I just kinda need sometime to myself. If anything, I’ll reblog some meme’s to keep myself entertained but answer them on my own time. if you wanna chat i’ll be on disc///ord. my tag is pie#8103  ))
