A few blocks and one rickety elevator ride later, Rowan’s flat was crammed unceremoniously into the middle of two dozen others on the same floor-- but, unlike the rest of the building, this was the only floor with cameras. And her apartment was the only door with one situated directly above it.
When Hal knocked, the camera in question shifted with a buzz to fully capture him in its sights. A small speaker next to the door crackled to life, and a drowsy-sounding Rowan spoke through it. Her words slurred a bit.
“Look into the camera. Shades off.”

FINALLY. The time had come. This parlor took walk-ins and was about a ten minute walk from her shitty little one-room apartment, so clearly, this was the optimal place to have it done.
One quick jog (metaphorical of course) and some brief chatting later, Rowan was vaping in one corner of the lounge’s couch, maximizing her chill under the fluorescent lights-- unless one took her constantly bouncing heel into consideration. Maybe she wasn’t quite so chill as she’d like to appear.
