Demona: Twilight's Embrace by Jade Gretz

Moonlight bathed the Manhattan skyline in an eerie silver glow. Atop the Chrysler Building, Demona, her obsidian skin gleaming under the pale light, surveyed the city below. A bitter wind whipped at her leathery wings, mirroring the turmoil within her. For centuries, she had walked a tightrope – protector by night, outcast by day.

Tonight, however, the tightrope had snapped. Betrayal, a venomous snake, had coiled around her heart. Macbeth, the cunning human she had once considered an ally, had revealed his true colors. He had used her, manipulated her hatred for humanity, all the while planning to unleash a terrifying ancient magic that would enslave both humans and gargoyles alike.

Macbeth, adorned in ceremonial robes, stood atop a makeshift altar constructed on the roof of the Daily Bugle building. Chanting in a guttural tongue, he drew symbols in the air with a shard of obsidian, the moonlight amplifying the ritual's eerie glow. Demona watched, claws digging into the stone gargoyle she perched upon, fury and a cold dread warring within her.

Suddenly, the air shimmered, and a vortex tore open above the Daily Bugle. Grotesque, ethereal creatures, their forms stitched together from nightmares, clawed their way through the portal, their eyes glowing with malevolent hunger.

Macbeth roared in triumph, the city lights reflecting an unholy glow in his eyes. But his victory was short-lived. Demona launched herself from the Chrysler Building, a dark blur against the night sky. Landing with a ferocious snarl beside Macbeth, she lashed out with a vicious swipe of her claws.

Macbeth, taken aback by her betrayal, barely dodged the attack. "Demona, foolish gargoyle! Do you not see we are meant to rule together?"

"Rule over ashes?" Demona spat, her voice raw with fury. "You unleash these horrors and expect me to side with you?"

Their fight was a whirlwind of claws, teeth, and rage. But Demona fought with the desperation of the damned, fueled by a desire to stop Macbeth's ritual before the city was overrun by these nightmare creatures. A while back I made a couple of Bob from ReBoot drawings, I always meant to get around to the other main characters since people liked them so much. The animation studio that made ReBoot, Mainframe Studios, even shared it on their socials! I thought I'd get back to them now that I got the inspiration flowing, starting with Mike the TV. He was one of my favourite characters but I could never find a toy of him. I had so many back then.

Storm: Mistress of the Elements by Jade Gretz

Rain lashed against the windowpanes, mimicking the frantic rhythm of Storm's heart. Inside the dimly lit apartment, Ororo Munroe, better known to the world as Storm, faced her former friend, Asha. But Asha, once brimming with warmth and laughter, was now a chilling apparition.

Asha's mutation had always been unique. She could manipulate the emotions of others, amplifying negative feelings like fear and despair. Yet, she used her abilities with compassion, alleviating suffering and fostering empathy.

But something had changed. Asha's once gentle touch had become a suffocating grip, her empathy warping into a hunger for emotional control. Now, her eyes, once the color of a summer sky, were clouded with swirling shades of grey, reflecting the turmoil within.

"Asha," Storm said, her voice firm despite the tremor in her soul, "You're hurting people. You need to stop."

Asha, cloaked in a tattered shawl, gave a vacant smile. "Oh, Ororo," she replied, her voice a hollow echo of their shared past, "Don't you see? I'm helping them. I'm helping them feel. They were so numb… so empty before."

Storm felt a knot tighten in her stomach. Asha wasn't just manipulating emotions anymore; she was feeding on them, draining people of their emotional energy, leaving them hollow husks.

Images flooded Storm's mind – a young boy, his vibrant smile replaced by a vacant stare after a brief encounter with Asha, a woman in a hospital bed, her eyes devoid of life after Asha's "comforting visit."

"Asha, what you're doing is wrong," Storm pleaded, her voice tinged with despair. "These people, they're suffering, not finding solace."

A flicker of anger crossed Asha's face. "They were already suffering! They were drowning in their own apathy! I'm just giving them a push, a nudge towards feeling again!"

The air crackled with unspoken tension. Storm knew reason wouldn't work. Asha was consumed by her twisted sense of purpose, blinded by the seductive power she wielded.
