I didn't want to hijack @extasiswings 's post but I also started thinking about Eddie not being around when that man's being dug out, aaand I couldn't stop...
Eddie looks down at his phone in surprise. Buck's ringing him, but he's supposed to be on shift, and if he was just bored in the station house he'd normally FaceTime, or send Eddie a litany of texts about his latest internet deep-dive (the great Canadian maple syrup heist was his latest obsession), but a phone call?
"Hey man, what's up?"
Buck doesn't immediately respond, but Eddie hears the shuddered inhale down the line, and now he's concerned.
Eddie gives Christopher a reassuring smile while he waits for an answer, and nods to his aunt that he's stepping out for a moment before ducking to the front door when he still doesn't get a reply.
"Buck?" he tries again. "Buck, come on, I'm here, okay? What's wrong?"
"I just..." Buck starts, faltering for a moment. "I just needed to hear your voice."
Buck sounds... shattered, honestly, something so much deeper than exhaustion, and the hairs on the back of Eddie's neck stand on edge.
"Talk to me. Did something happen on a call? Are you hurt?"
"No—we're fine, I'm fine," Buck says, but his voice is barely above a whisper and Eddie's not convinced.
"There was... this man got.... Eddie, he was buried alive. And dispatch tracked his phone but they couldn't get a precise location and by the time we started to dig things weren't looking good and—"
Buck's voice is shaking, but now that he's started speaking he can't seem to stop and his words are gaining fervour as he goes on. Eddie can feel his own grip on his cellphone getting tighter and tighter until finally he has to sit himself down on the steps of the front porch to try and catch his own breath. He knows where Buck's head is at—he can't help but go there too.
"—a-a-and I just...I couldn't stop thinking about the well collapse, and dispatch said the guy wasn't answering and I started thinking about trying to get a hold of you on the radio but we couldn't and suddenly I wasn't looking for the vic anymore, I was looking for you. I was back there in the rain and I was clawing at the ground, at the mud, and it felt like there was this vice around my chest and—"
"Breathe, Buck," Eddie interrupts a little desperately at the fear in Buck's voice, "breathe in through your nose and out through your mouth," he says as he tries to follow his own advice. "Take a deep breath, c'mon, do it with me, in for four, hold it—and breathe out for eight, and again..."
For a while there's nothing but a stream of breaths down the phone from the both of them, until finally a long steady exhale is followed by a stuttered, "sorry, I shouldn't have—"
"Don't be stupid, you can always—"
The siren rings out loud down the other end of the phone and Eddie jumps to his feet out of habit before he remembers that he's not actually on shift.
"I've gotta go," Buck mumbles, and Eddie can hear the rustling movements as he's obviously making his way over to the trucks.
"Yeah of course," Eddie says, and continues before he can second guess himself; "come over after your shift in the morning, we can go out for breakfast with Chris."
There's another exhale down the phone, but this one sounds lighter, happier, like it's being chased by a smile, and Eddie feels his own tight chest loosen considerably at the image he's conjured in his head.
"Yeah, that'd be great." Buck says, "I'll see you then."
"Perfect, it's a date." Eddie says, before hanging up.
(His own words don't register for another 30 minutes and by then Buck's already sent a smiley face emoji over text, and Eddie can't find it within himself to regret anything)

Crazy In Love
Eddie Diaz x Reader
Warnings: mentions of injuries, Eddie can’t do math or cook for shit, friends to lovers :)))
Word Count: 2.1k
Author’s Note: takes place after Stuck (2x04) when abuela breaks her hip. Also, this was supposed to be for 911 readers week but I didn’t finish it in time sooooo just take it now instead :)
The phone rang, your arm stretched over the pile of dishes on the counter. “Hello ?” you answered, putting it on speaker and setting it back down.
Eddie’s voice rang through the speaker, echoing through the empty apartment. “Hey, can you do me a huge favour ?”
“If you're gonna ask me to bake a cake, I have literally no time, honey. I’m really sorry but I need to finish this order-” Eddie sounds like he cut himself off before saying something as you explain that you’re busy.
“Eds? Are you there ?”
“Yeah- yeah, I'm here.”
“You’re busy, I don’t want to bother you.”
You can’t help but roll your eyes because no matter how busy you are, you always made time for Eddie. He sighs heavily, so much so that you can hear him thinking.
“Eddie, what is it ?”
“Can you pick Chris up from school ? I know you’re busy but if you can’t, that’s ok-” “of course I can pick him up!”
The sound of a breath being released before a feminine voice called out for him. “I gotta go, Abuela needs me but he’s off at 3. Thank you, y/n - really.”
“You don’t have to thank me, Eddie.”
He mumbles something before hanging up. You glance at the phone screen - 2:24. You had enough time to change and shove the dishes in the dishwasher before having to head out so you did just that.
You had picked up Christopher from school a million times. His teachers knew you well enough that Eddie no longer had to call and let them know he wouldn't be picking up Chris but that you would be.
Standing outside of the school, the PTA parents were gossiping within their little bubbles, talking about the other members behind their backs but smiling in their faces. You bit back a smile before walking towards the gate. The students were lined up by the door, waiting for the bell to ring.
The moment it does, the students come running out with their teacher a few feet behind them in an attempt to keep up with them. One by one, their teacher lets them out, Christopher finally spotting you and this teacher waves hello as they open the gate for him.
“Y/n! What are you doing here!?” his little face lights up with a smile.
“Your dad asked me to come get you, he's with abuela.”
The two of you start making your way back to the car when Christopher asks you what his plans for the afternoon were. Soon you realized that Eddie didn’t give you any explanation as to where to go or what to do after you picked up Chris.
“How does ice cream and then abuela’s sound ?”
“Can we take some for her and dad too?” Chris asks as you help him into the car.
“Of course we can.”
Christopher was lugging his backpack over his shoulder when you knocked on the door, two containers of ice cream in hand. Eddie opens the door, grinning at his son whose face matches his father’s.
“Hey kiddo” Eddie kneels, wrapping the boy in his arms. Christopher’s arms extend around his father, “hi dad, we bought ice cream” he points out the obvious.
Eddie glances up at you, the ice cream tucked under your arm - he flashes you a smile.
“Oh yeah?” he lets go of Chris. “Did you have any?”
“No,” he shakes his head, his hair flopping around as he snickers. Eddie pushes the hair from Christopher’s forehead. “So what’s this on your face?” swiping his finger on Chris’s chin, a little smudge of brown on his finger from the leftover ice cream.
“Paint.” Chris smiles at his father sweetly.
“Uh huh, paint.” he chuckles, stepping aside for Chris to come further into the house.
“Thanks for picking him up,” he leans on the door frame, stretching and his arms lift above his head as he does. You can’t help but glance down at the area of exposed skin - eyes glued to the man in front of you.
“Y/n?” Eddie’s waving his hands in front of you, eyes raising from their previous spot to his face - the blush was creeping up on your face whilst that stupid smug smile of his was on his.
“Would you like to come in?”
“Oh, I don’t want to intrude.”
“You won’t be.”
“Are you sure?”
Stepping in, you take in the house. You had been by Isabel’s once or twice before but you had never come inside the house. The walls were painted a warm yellow colour, the furniture was spotless as was the rest of the house. Isabel sat on the couch with Chris beside her as he told her about his day at school.
“Chris, did you wash your hands?” Eddie calls, the door shutting. Chris doesn't answer which is an answer in itself. “Go now, please.” Eddie’s voice sounds closer, glancing behind you to see him beside you.
Chris grumbles but gets up, Isabel turns her attention to you and Eddie. “How are you feeling ?”
“As well as someone can with a broken hip” she gives you a smile.
“I’m glad you’re okay, you gave Eddie a scare” giving him a playful shove. “We got ice cream, vanilla and toffee. Chris said toffee was your favourite” handing her the small container. “It is, thank you. That’s so sweet of you.” she smiles, pulling the top off.
“No need to thank me, it was Christopher’s idea.”
“Ah, well I'll thank him when he comes back out.” she says smiling, “Eddie, a spoon please ?” she glances at the man beside you. He hums, stepping away for a moment to get her a spoon.
Chris comes running back in after washing his hands. “Dad! Can we stay over? Abuela said it was okay” he’s beside his father now, looking up at him with his big brown eyes that were practically begging him to let him.
You, Eddie and Isabel all knew that Christopher had his father wrapped around his finger and would ultimately get his way but Eddie had to give him a fatherly response and say no, they should go home. Isabel doesn't usually butt in but this time she did.
“Mijo, stay. I could use the company.” She says, patting the spot beside her and Chris makes his way over to sit beside her.
Eddie sighs, if he had a soft spot, it was for the two people on the couch. “Fine, just tonight then.”
Isabel smiles, satisfied with his answer. “y/n, stay for dinner darling. Eddie’s cooking” “Yea- who said I was cooking?” Eddie butts in, shocked at the assumption. “I did, mijo. Don’t worry, I'll tell you what to do.”
“Buddy, why don’t you finish up your homework so you can relax for the rest of the night ?” Eddie calls out to Chris, who again groans. He loved school but despised homework - as did most kids.
“I have math, I need help so I can’t do it because you’re busy.” Chris says plainly, thinking his statement will get him out of his math work because Eddie can’t do math for shit.
“I can help.”
“Y/n, you don't have to-” “no, it’s fine. C’mon kiddo” Chris grumbles, making his way to the dining room table, the two of you taking a seat when Eddie helps Isabel up and to the kitchen.
You can hear them talking and her telling Eddie to cut things a certain way or not to put too much of something into the pot. It only took 20 minutes for Christopher to finish his math homework, he brought it into the kitchen to show his dad.
“Look! I’m done! Math’s easy when you understand it.” that last bit was a little dig at Eddie and his math skills. You ruffled Chris’s hair as he walked back into the living room.
“Did he just-” Eddie watches his son make his way to the couch.
You hold back a laugh,“Mhm hm” Eddie shakes his head, chuckling. “Here, taste this.” he picks up some sauce from the pot, holding the spoon over his hand before handing it to Isabel.
Her face twists when she tastes it, “Eddie, I love you honey, but that’s terrible.” you press your lips together, holding back a chuckle.
“What?” he pouts, sighing. “I swear it tasted fine ten minutes ago.” sitting beside Isabel in defeat.
You pick up another spoon and taste some for yourself, your expression matching Isabel’s from moments ago. Eddie had remembered to put everything in, except the paprika and the salt, you add a bit of both and stir the pot. Taking the spoon from Eddie, you pick up a bit of the sauce and hand it back to Isabel.
“Ah, that’s better.” she hums, making you smile as she hands you back the spoon. Eddie sighs, letting you know that he was still there.
"Why don’t you go see if Christopher wants to watch something or if he wants a snack ?” his grandmother nudged him, a signal for him to leave the kitchen. “y/n can take over for you”
“Abuela, you can’t invite them in and have them work for their dinner.” he says, making her laugh.
“It’s okay Eds,” waving him off. “I don’t mind, really.”
Eddie left the kitchen and made his way over to the couch, listening as Chris told him about his day. He glanced back to see if everything was alright but he noticed that the two of you were laughing as you told Isabel something. Eddie would be lying if his heart didn’t skip a beat.
He stopped seeking his parents’ approval of who he dated- for a matter of fact, it went out the window when he brought Shannon home the first time but seeing you with an abuela made him so warm and happy, he couldn't help but smile.
Eddie’s hand slipped onto your hip, his chest against your back. “Can I help you, Eddie?” you mumble, your eyes on the dishes in front of you.
He hums, hands coming around and arms now wrapped around your waist. Eddie felt your wet hands pull his hands off of you, “Isabel and Chris are in the other room, stop it”
His head tilted, that innocent look on his face, “stop what?”
“Eddie,” turning to face him, “shh I don’t want to hear it” he cuts you off, hands back on your waist.
“I don’t think I've ever loved someone the way I love you.” His words come off so sweet and loving but hit you like a ton of bricks.
You loved Eddie, more than anything but you had never actually told him nor did you ever feel the need too. It was always implied that as friends, you loved and cared about each other.
Eddie always knew he loved you, there was never any question about that but something about you, seeing you with an abuela and how great you were with Christopher (as you always were) just pushed him over the edge.
He had to tell you.
“Y/n, you know I love you- and before you say anything, I know I’ve never actually said it to you but I didn’t feel like I had too, you knew I did.”
You were still gathering your thoughts, trying to come up with the words to tell him you loved him too but Eddie’s expression changed. His brows furrowed, eyes studying your face - the worry had set in.
What if you didn’t feel the same way ? God, he’d feel so stupid if he embarrassed himself like that.
The years of friendship were enough for you to realize how he was feeling. You were lacking words and you know what they say, actions speak louder than words.
Your hands reach for his face, now cupping his cheeks. Your lips meet his, he pulls you closer to him- if that's even possible. It was a few moments before you pulled away.
Eddie smiles lovingly at you and you’re sure you have the same expression plastered on your face. “Um- I think that says it.” you hum, smiling at him.
“Doesn't mean you can't say it,” he pokes fun at you, making you roll your eyes playfully.
“I love you.”

I had some time these last two days and so it was time for me to begin with the Buddie fic recs. This is the first one, more to come in the future (don't know when, honestly, I usually organize my fics folder when I have time/when I feel like doing it). Enjoy 💚
PS: I usually tag the authors, but sometimes I forget to do it, I'm sorry but I'm a bit chaotic.
Don’t Want no Other Shade of Blue But You [Words: 11050] by @fangkinkdiaz
This is an entire series, complete, and I suggest to read it all because it’s perfect.
“You can’t go see your son like this.”
That gives Buck pause. “He’s not—he’s not my son.”
“Isn’t he, though?” she says.
And part of Buck wants to argue, but a bigger part of him thinks, isn’t he, though? Not by blood, sure, or legally, but in all the ways that matter, Christopher is as good as his son.
Hungry For Your Love [Words: 1847] by @evcndiaz
I'm so in love with this one. It makes me laugh every single time I read it. Also the characters are so perfectly portraited it's like reading the script of an episode.
prompt: "who’s gonna write a fanfic where chris is not cooperating with buck and eddie accidentally says “listen to your dad?" or; breadsticks are a metaphor for love and boning
Habits [Words: 4926]
I read this over and over again. I loved it so much it became a comfort fic for me.
Buck's not sure what's going on when Eddie starts kissing him on the head after a rough call, only now it's A Thing, and it's a thing Buck would very much like to continue if he knew what it meant.
(or another Buddie fic where everyone knows except Buck.)
Fire on Fire [Words: 6668]
Absolutely one of my favourites. It's very well written.
"You’re sleeping with him.”
“I’m not—” Eddie rolls his eyes and corrects himself halfway through. “I’m not sleeping with him like that, okay?”
Sophia looks at him for a long moment as her gaze turns from teasing to thoughtful.
“But you want to be. Right?”
[Or: Buck and Eddie get in the habit of sharing a bed while living together during quarantine. It's platonic until it isn't.]
To Build a Home we deconstruct our rituals [Words: 44248]
I really enjoyed this fic. More like a journey. I loved the way Eddie has been portraited.
After the shooting, Eddie realizes he needs to put some things in place. Like who will get his assets if he dies. Who will speak for him if he ends up in a coma. What might happen if his family contests Buck's guardianship. Luckily, he's got a simple easy-peasy solution that won't result in insanity, catastrophe, or heartbreak:

Dating Buck Would Include...
Warnings: Smut Mentioned
Masterlist//Dusk Till Dawn Masterlist//Agape Masterlist
Best friends to lovers most likely the way it started
Working on the team together and being the first one to believe in him, reassuring and proving to everyone to Buck should be a member of the team and that they should help him find himself
It was the help of you and his quick thinking that got him back on the team and that started you’re best friend relationship
He asked you out but you rejected him as you said he needs to find himself first before getting in a relationship, that you’re weren’t going to be a fuck and ruin your friendship
He went straight into a relationship with Abbie soon after that which made you roll your eyes at, knowing she wasn’t really treating Buck the way he deserves to be treated
But you rejected him in the way to protect him and your friendship...so maybe you couldn’t be jealous of who he’s with
But you was happy when she left but comforted Buck when he was sad that she left to ‘find herself’
You promised him that you would never leave him
When Buck came to the decision to break it off with Abbie he came to your place and told you everything, kissed you, but you pushed the sad boy away, saying he wasn’t in the right mind...he’s going through a breakup and you weren’t going to be a rebound
So he went on a mission to prove to you that you’re the only person he wants and have been in love with since the beginning
Buck went out of his mind when he lost both you and Christopher in the tsunami, especially knowing that you weren’t together, because once he saw Eddie hug Christopher Buck asked Eddie where you were, and his only response was that they sent you on a solo mission
You turned up with many civilians and Buck felt his heart skip a beat a the sight of you
Neatly getting together but don’t because Buck’s lawsuit, exposing many secrets of yours which you hated him for
You two made up last due to you being stubborn, saving his life on a call, and kissing him in the hospital with a simple “don’t fuck this up.”
Buck loves teasing you with small touches - kisses on necks, long swipes of his tongue, biting softly in your skin leaving love bites on it, fingers dancing across your bare skin, squeezing thighs and arse (always slapping your arse with a smirk, whispering sweet nothings and dirty words unto your ear...but he only said he does it to you and you tease him just as much
Piggy back rides
Nicknames he loves using is baby, love, princess, baby girl, gorgeous, angel, sexy, sweetheart and darling
You two always make each other laugh so much
Hands are always touching you or he’s a sad puppy - unless you’re on a mission then he understands why he can’t touch you but he’s sad if you two aren’t partnered up as then he can’t look out for you, causing constant worry for you until you’re back in his arm
Touch is his love language for you, realising that you don’t want gifts for appreciation of love. Words is also a major love language for him as he just always wants to remind you that he loves you
Babysitting Christopher together, making Buck want to have kids with you at the sight of you with Christopher
Eddie making both his best friends (you and Buck) Christopher’s legal guardians
Teasing Buck with the stealing fire truck incident saying how it would never work on you - but he reminds you two that you’ve fucked in their when you’ve both done the nightshift
Sex is a mixture of both worlds but Buck before being soft and sweet with you as he just wants you to know that he loves you, whilst if you’re really needy you’re begging for me, which he happily does as he just wants to always pleasure you the way you want
Being each other nurses when the other is injured
Him loving seeing you in his clothes
He got you a necklace with his name of it
He gets a tattoo with your initials on his ring finger
Loving to trace his tattoos
Him loving your body, reminding you that you’re perfect
TOUCH TOUCH TOUCH
And words of love...
Yours and Buck relationship is full of love and care, not wanting to leave each other after the journey it took to get together, but Buck loves you every minute saying it was worth the wait

One second Eddie was watching his son and Ana pick out a suit for Christopher’s upcoming graduation ceremony at school, the next he was falling backwards, his heart racing as he fell to the floor, grasping his chest.
His heart was beating out of his chest and Eddie could feel panic starting to claw at his chest. His breathing quickened and over his shallow breathes he heard both Chris and Ana yell out for him.
Hearing Christopher’s worried shout of “Dad!” made Eddie’s heart clench. His poor boy. Eddie was pretty sure that he was having a panic attack— why though, that he didn’t know. But he hated that Christopher was there, that he was witnessing it.
“Dad! Daddy, what’s wrong?” Christopher exclaimed, making it to Eddie’s side. Eddie felt his son’s small, gentle hand on his cheek and he tried to focus on it, use it to ground himself.
Eddie could hear Ana asking him if he was alright in the background but he couldn’t make himself answer her. His only thought right now was Christopher.
“C-Chris,” Eddie tried to choke out, his voice coming out strangled and hoarse.
“Daddy,” Christopher sobbed, looking frightened as Eddie fought to catch his breath.
“Someone call 911!” Ana called to the sales staff, who were watching in concern. Eddie caught a glimpse of someone dialling and he hoped that the 118 would be the one to answer the call.
Buck was supposed to come with them suit shopping, Christopher had been so excited to have his Buck come and help him pick out the right suit, it had been all he had talked about since Buck agreed to come. Buck and Eddie had both requested the day off but when their cover had called in sick, Buck had offered to go in so Eddie could still take Chris.
Christopher had tried to hide it but Eddie could tell he was disappointed. It broke his heart to see his little boy sad, but there was nothing he could do. So he had vowed to try and make it as fun as possible for Chris and Buck had promised to come over in the morning after his shift to make them pancakes.
Christopher wasn’t the only one disappointed— Eddie was too. He wasn’t going to lie, he had been looking forward to sharing this moment with Buck. He thought he would be happy with Ana there but he was a bit startled to find that he wasn’t. Eddie couldn’t help but feel like something— someone— was missing.
Eddie was brought back to the present— back to the tightening in his chest— as Ana touched his cheek, “Help is on the way, Eddie.”
If Eddie could breathe properly he would have let out a sigh of relief. He just concentrated on the feeling of Christopher’s hand in his, using that to ground himself as he waited for what was hopefully going to be his team.
Eddie wasn’t sure how much time passed but it couldn’t have been too long until he was hearing, “Eddie?!” shouted across the store, as the 118 approached.
This time Eddie really did let out a sigh of relief, as choked as it was. That was Buck. Buck was here. He was here. It was going to be okay.
“Bu—,” Eddie tried to get out, catching Buck’s concerned eyes. Eddie felt his heart skip a beat— something that felt even weirder given how fast his heart was still racing— and all he could think was oh.
In the middle of a public panic attack was probably not the best time to realize that he was in love with his best friend.

Pairing: Evan Buckley x Reader
Summary: Your husband stops by, but not for the visit you’re expecting…
Note: A request from my dear bitch @halsmultibitch ❤️ hope you like this bby🥰
Warnings🛑: mentions of blood, hospital setting, medical care
You never know what to expect when working as a trauma nurse…
Every night the 118 team is bringing in a victim with something obscure or downright odd hanging out of some body part. This was how you met your husband, and father to your unborn baby still growing in your tummy, Buck.
The two of you absolutely adored the other, you helped him when he was in a dark place, and it made him fall even more in love with you. Despite not being home a lot since both of your jobs have heavy work hours, one of you is always showing up at the others place of work.
Tonight, it was Buck’s turn, but this visit was unusual when you didn’t see him getting out of the firetruck.
He was on the gurney, your eyes widened as you rushed over to where Chim and Hen were pushing him in.
“Evan?!” you gasped, taking in his battered form.
“Hey baby! How’s my little one?” he coughed, trying to pretend of course that nothing was wrong.
“What the hell happened?!” you demanded.
“This idiot about got himself killed.” Hen chimed in.
“Did not,” Buck grumbled.
“Buck, honey lie down please.” you said as you began the standard testing once he was in a trauma bay.
“Babe I’m fine, really!” he insisted.
“If you don’t lay down Evan Buckley, I’ll strap you down myself.” you growled, and Buck cowered.
“Y-Yes ma’am.” Buck muttered, unable to deny that was insanely hot the way you yelled at him.
“Now tell me what happened.” you prompted as you got some fluids running.
“I may or may not have went back into a burning building…” he murmured, your movements stopping.
“Evan, wha-what the hell?! Why-you-you did this knowing you have a wife and a child coming?!” you almost screamed.
“Baby, sweetheart it’s ok…I had to. It-There was a kid still in there and I-I don’t know I just had to go get them. I thought about if it was us and something happened and I would do everything possible to protect them.” he explained.
“Oh Buck, see…this is one of the many, many reasons I love you.” you whispered, kissing his lips gently before you got back to work.
Luckily, Buck was able to come home that night, and the two of you did a lot more of yelling and screaming in a good way…

Hi I was wondering if you could write an evan buckley x reader. and the plot is the reader is apart of the 118 and dating buck and she gets hurt on a call and ends up in the hospital and they find out she’s pregnant
Everyone was just sitting around the fire house. Buck and Hen were playing some stupid game loudly and Bobby was making dinner. Eddie was taking a nap somewhere and me and Chim were restocking the rig.
It was a pretty normal day. It wasn't too bad a nice and steady day just the way you liked it. It keeps you busy. It always seemed like the more you sat at the firehouse the longer your day went.
Dinner started smelling good through the firehouse and your stomach started rumbling. It was loud enough for chimney to hear and he looked up and chuckled at you.
“Guess someone’s pretty hungry tonight.” he said rhetorically and you just rolled your eyes at him.
“I don’t know what it is but I’ve been super hungry lately like no matter how much i eat i’m always hungry.” you said to him
“Awe is our little Y/N going through growing pains.” Chim said.
You laughed and rolled your eyes away. Man it feels like there is a tapeworm in you.
Thankfully Bobby called for dinner and everyone gathered around while Chim yelled very loudly that thank god dinner was ready because you were gonna starve to death.
Buck Laughed and threw his arm around you as you all walked up the stairs to dinner. Someone woke up Eddie and he came and joined everyone at the table.
Of course like always Bobby cooked up a wonderful meal for everyone. You quickly devoured the meal and everyone was just sitting laughing at you because honestly you didn’t care how messed up you looked you were super hungry.
Next thing you know the bells ring and everyone jumped into action. You grabbed a bread roll and continued to eat all the way down to the ambulance.
You arrived at the scene and it was a 3 alarm fire. It wasn’t to bad when we arrived to the scene but it did need extra assistance.
You and chim sat back prepping the ambulance and the rest of the gang geared up.
Buck walked over to you and squeezed your hand and then ran off. It was a bit of assurance for the two of you.
You and Chim had began to see people and help out. You heard yelling and it seemed like it was coming from the top of the building but you couldn’t be to sure. You were pre occupied to what was going on in front of you.
You got up and walked over to the ambulance and you heard someone call out your name but it happened so fast you didn’t have time to process because a piece of debris came flying out of the building and it hit you in the head.
Everything went black after that.
Cap ran over to where you were laying and quickly assed you. From what he saw it didn’t look that bad but most of the damage was more than likely on the inside.
“Chim we need you over here now.” Cap called out.
“Jesus what the hell happened.” he asked when he came over opening up his bag and began working.
He put a C collar on you and began taking vitals. Everything seemed okay so far which made everyone feel a little better at the moment.
Buck Eddie and Hen all ran out and over to where you were. Buck bent down and grabbed your hand and Eddie helped get the stretcher. They quickly went to take you away to the hospital as fast as possible .
“I’m going with her” Buck yelled out and Cap agreed knowing there really no stopping him. He was going no matter what.
Hen drove as much as Chim wanted to go they needed the more senior paramedic at the scene.
They still needed a lot of help. As bad as it sounded they were down three people they couldn’t loose anymore help.
Once you arrived at the hospital they quickly whisked you away. They drew blood first and once back there you began to regain consciousness.
With a pounding headache you opened up your heavy eyes. The light blinding you as you looked around to see what was going on.
“Where am i what happened”? You asked.
“You had an accident at work and some debris hit your head where taking you up to xray to see how bad the damage is okay.” the doctor said to you.
You were unbelievably tired and just closed your eyes. Outside the waiting room the 118 had gathered out at the waiting room. More than an hour had passed and they were finally free to leave the scene.
Within that hour you had your Xray done and your blood work had come back. You were sitting in a bed in a room.
You woke up head still pounding but with the work of the medication being pumped in your arm you felt a little better.
You heard the front door open and it was the 118 pilling in to see you. Buck ran over and hugged you first.
You welcomed him with open arms. Though chim quickly pulled him away and went in and hugged you.
You enjoyed the love but you were still kinda stumped on what was going on. You were about to speak up and ask when there was a knock on the door and the doctor came in.
“Hello everyone how is the lovely Y/N doing ? we have all the test back and well if you want i can share them now in front of everyone.” he said
“Yea sure it’s all family I don’t mind.” you said
“Very well, the first good news is that you don’t have anything majorly wrong just a concussion. The second good news is your pregnant.” ! he said
It sounded like a pin dropped in the room and you didn’t know what to say and poor Buck’s face look pale white.
“Are you sure doc there’s no way it’s a mistake.” ? you asked
“Nope 100% sure.” he said. Then excusing himself.
Everyone was silent for a good minute not knowing what to say was this a good or bad thing they all thought.
“ I can’t believe this is happening.” you said
“I’m gonna be a dad.” Buck said looking down at you. And all you could do was just nod still speechless.
“This is so awesome I can’t believe this.” Buck said smiling down at you.
You started smiling back and everyone began cheering and hugging you.
“ I guess this is good news.” you said
“Now we know why you were so hungry you didn’t have a tapeworm growing you but a mini Buckley.” Chim said
Everyone began laughing and Buck squeezed your hand.
You were happy this was good unexpected news and you were glad to share this moment with your family.

Author's note: Ah, Buck in this episode! My heart goes out to him. My poor little baby my heart was like UGH. But the end though…POP OFF BABY!
Important: Here is the link to the scene! ☛ click here
"Well, what do you think about all of it?"
Your boyfriend sat on the kitchen bar, his head in hands. Buck wasn't looking in your general direction instead focused on the marble countertop. You were tossing the salad, mixing up the lettuce with the vinaigrette. "Buck?"
His head shot up, and he looked confused. "Did you hear anything I just said?"
"It's okay," you smiled, catching a sight of his eased face. You turned to the stove where dinner was cooking, deciding not to press him to listen because he'll have enough of earfuls when his parents arrive. "Could you set the table please?"
Only the two of you lived together, so setting the glass table wasn't hard. He doubled everything he took, maneuvering around the kitchen with a sudden air of relaxation. It was you who had the ability to make him feel so comfortable.
Buck kissed your cheek playfully when he stepped in behind you to peer over at the food. He would've had done a lot more if you didn't swat him away with a spatula.
"I think," he called from the living room, the cluttering of cutlery hitting the table as he set it following. "Everything will be fine as long as you're with me."
"Oh my god I'm so hlad you're here!"
When evneloped into a hug by a pregnant female, one can only do so much to make her let go. Maddie's belly was big and she looked ready for delivery. At least that's what she told you. Beaming, you placed both hands on her belly, fascinated by it. Both of you giggled until a woman broke into your line of vision, coming to stand behind her daughter. She was curious, you could tell, as she looked you over with a tight lipped smile. You stepped away from Maddie, watching Buck gingerly hug her.
Her short, light blonde hair fell around her face, framing her blue eyes that looked so like Buck's. You could see him in her when it came to looks, but looking at the way she held herself, you knew immediately Buck was nothing like her. He was simply better.
"Mom, this is my girlfriend Y/N," Evan introduced, coming to stand next to you as he lead you to his mother. "Y/N meet my mom. Margaret."
You were glad to have worn a dress and with heels, you towered over the woman. She looked up at you, pulling on a fabricated smile. "It's a pleasure to meet you, Mrs. Buckley."
"Oh please, call me Margaret." She brushed you off. Oh I will.
"This is my dad," he pointed to a man near the kitchen. Your boyfriend had a hand on the small of your back all through introductions. You were sure you wouldn't have been able to live through that dreaded part, if it weren't for him next to you. You realized at that moment that Buck had you on a leash the same way you had him. It was damage pervention, what both of you were doing.
"Y/N," you shook the mans hand with a smile. His touch was brief, like he didn't think it was necessary to shake your hand a second longer. It almost felt like Buck brought over a friend, and not a girlfriend of near 2 years.
"Let's eat!" Chim clapped his hand, begging you to sit with his eyes.
"Always the hero, aren't you?" You asked in a whisper. There was a glint of amusement in your eyes.
"Shut up or we both die," he threatened and all but pushed you toward the table. "Remember: we're the partners. We mean them nothing. Our words are irrelevant to them."
"You're being paranoid," you told him.
Chimney raised both his dark brows at you and nodded his head toward Buck, who was pouring a great amount of wine in his glass. Daggers were swirling in his blue eyes.
All you could sigh and give yourself a mental pep talk, closing in on your seat next to Buck. You leaned toward him and whispered after giving his cheek a kiss. "Give me the wine."
"I mean, from what I hear Evan has spent quite a lot of time in hospitals."
His father's words sounded casual, and at first glance one wouldn't be able to detect a complaint. Yet Evan's face spoke volumes.
"From what you hear?" He asked, looking over them. "Cause you coulda come. Seen for yourself."
His mother turned to say, "Evan I've told you—"
"You, uh, you're not good with hospitals. I got it."
"I'm not good seeing my children in them. You don't know!"
There was something in her eyes, you noticed, something she would rather have stay in the past. There was more to her sentence, more to her words. To everything about them.
You placed a hand on your boyfriend's thigh, a silent reminder that you were there with him and that everything was going to be okay.
Chimney shared a look with you as Maddie looked her mother's way, controlling the damage. "I'm ready for dessert."
This was going to be a long night.
"Oh, Howard, where'd you put that box we brought?" Philip Buckley asked, looking over at Chim with excited eyes.
"Dad, more gifts?" Asked Maddie.
"It's over by the couch. Let me grab it." Said Chimney and fled the moment those words left his mouth.
This time round, Buck had one of his hands disappear under the table. You took it instantly and placed it on your lap, holding tightly because whatever they had brought Maddie didn't include Buck in the slightest.
"I like him, Maddie." Their mother shared proudly. "You picked a good one this time."
"What? It was a compliment."
"Oh, was it?" Buck asked her, angry for obvious reasons.
Margaret fought, glancing at you just as you were about to roll your eyes. There was fire and desperation to protect herself in her eyes. You were thankful you hadn't rolled your eyes because her next words were scrutinizing. "Is he always this way?"
You squeezed Buck's hand immediately, "Excuse me?"
"He—he," she didn't seem to find words to share and instead shook her head in disbelief before Philip started whispering into her ear, telling her whatever he could to calm her.
Chimney returned shortly. There was a dark box in his arms, but not the one you'd see in a junk yard somewhere. The box was old, and a single glance at the name on the front had understanding dawn upon you. A baby box.
"That's so sweet," you said with a kind smile, one Margaret returned. She was beaming, enjoying the fact that she could pass on something like that to her only daughter. Maddie handed you a little baby shoe, as white as snow with a little bow on the tips. You took it carefully in your hands, laughing lightly with Maddie at the thought of her once wearing them.
Buck leaned over, looking at the shoe in your hand and at the box. "That's cool. I—I didn't now you made these for us. When do I get mine?"
There was something in the air after that innocent question left his mouth. You could almost smell the apprehension in the Buckleys. They looked between each other, silently talking with their eyes. Just like you and Buck always do. Philip and Margaret looked at him, then you only to in the end switch their shameful gaze back to Maddie.
Something tugged at your heart.
"Hey, you're not even a grown up yet. They're probably still adding stuff to it." Chimney tried to cheer him up, bringing his teasing voice into action. "Besides, from what I can tell Y/N's not pregnant yet."
You felt blush invade your cheeks and for a second Buck's disappointment was overthrown by the thought Chim brought into his mind. You felt him squeeze your hand.
"We may not have agreed with all the choices you made, but we never gave up the hope that you'd come to your senses. And you did."
"You never gave up hope?" Buck's voice suddenly cut through. It sounded bitter, like he couldn't believe his mother had the audacity to say something like that.
"Evan, let's not do this." Maddie told him quietly, not looking at him.
"No let him talk Mads," you said firmly. You did your best to be a silent pillar for him. A touch that would bring him back to his senses, so he didn't say something he didn't mean. Meeting his parents like this wasn't on your agenda, but you'd be dammed if you let them step on him the way they did. You didn't have the ease Chimney did, or his way with words but you had what you needed.
You loved and cared for him and thought he was the best and most wonderful man in the world. Even if his parents didn't.
"You guys didn't even go to her wedding." He stated as a matter of fact.
"She was making a terrible mistake. We told her that."
"Yeah, people make mistakes," he said. "Doesn't mean you just give up on 'em. I've made mistakes, but Y/N stayed with me and forgave me. You're her parents and you left her. She married Doug and you cut her off."
"At the time we thought it was…for the best."
"We didn't know what was going on. I swear, Maddie."
"Well, you should have." Buck said and you noticed the way his voice grew, his shoulders turned tense and his breathing got rougher. He no longer held your hand, but you knew you needed to do something. You wrapped your arms against his taut arm, holding onto his bicep as if letting go was going to be the beginning of the end of the world. "You shoulda known! You shoulda known! You—you were right there in the same town. How could you not know?!"
"Baby calm down," you said, begged him at that point.
Buck looked down on you, his eyes softening for a second before an apologetic looked flashed across his features and he was back being angry, disappointed and tired. All understandable feelings. "No, I can't calm down! And actually, you know what?"
The whole table was dead silent. His mother was pleading for you to calm him with her eyes, and you found yourself shaking your head at her. "Maybe it does track, 'cause you barely knew what was going on with your own kids when we were under the same roof. Maybe you never gave up hope… You sure as hell gave up on her. You gave up on both of us."
"Oh, and, uh, you wanna know why I'm really in therapy?" He asked amusingly, yet there was not a trace of wit in his voice. He looked exhausted by them. Fighting for his place was getting him to a point where he didn't even know what he was fighting for anymore. Buck stood up, and you couldn't hold him down even if you tried. He simply found and took your jacket, folded it in his arms like he always did when you were done dining, finding it in himself to not push you away. Because you were everything to him. Because he knew he was everything to you. Your first in everything.
With you, Buck finally felt like he was enough.
You could feel him looking over your chair as he spoke the next words to his parents. "It is because I have spent my entire life feeling like a constant disappointment. And you wanna talk about our jobs?"
You felt tears prick at your eyes. Your heart was beating hard, your lips were quivering, and your hands were clammy. You still sat at the table, feeling out of place because he wasn't next to you. "You think my job is dangerous? I have walked through fire every single day of my life because of you."
"That's why I'm in therapy! Because nothing I ever did was good enough!" Buck never yelled. It was impossible thing for him: to get angry, and it took everything in you to not flinch at the truth and raw pain in his words as he yelled.
His father began, "We tried. But you always—"
"You never made it easy on us. Either one of you." Margaret was louder, her cries were hollering through the apartment with force. She looked like she was tired too.
But under what right?
"We were supposed to? We were kids." Maddie's voice was quiet, eyes glazed over with unshed tears.
"Evan, I don't know what you expected us to do!" His mother turned to look at him.
You were scared to turn around, because just picturing his broken face was enough to have tears spilling down your cheeks. You bit your tongue, not to stop words from spurring out but to stop the downfall of tears. "Love me anyway."
You brought a hand to cover your mouth. Evan's voice was faint, "Y/N I'll wait for you in the car…"
And then the door shut with force.
"I can't." Maddie choked out and disappeared into the bathroom.
With only Chim and you left, you didn't know what to do except shake. You knew one thing though, and that was that staring down at your lap and fighting tears wasn't the way. Buck needed you.
"Thanks for the dinner, Chim." You said stilly and stood up. Your jacket was on the armrest of the couch, neatly nesting against it so you didn't have to rummage around the house to find it on the rack. He is always so thoughtful. Even when he's falling apart.
"Yeah, it's no problem." He stood up after you.
You took you purse in your hands, smiling up at him as you realized you have yet to give him your gift. You took something out, feeling the soft material under your fingertips. "We, uh," you glanced at Buck's parents, feeling uncomfortable by Margaret's tears and Philip's curious eyes. "Wanted you to have this. It's only the beginning, we still have a lot of orders coming in. Buck chose this one."
You pulled out a pink baby romper out of your purse, and handed it to the expecting father. He took one look at it when he unfolded it and burst into laughter. "You guys are funny."
"What does it say?" Piped in Margaret. Chim turned it around.
"Me + Mommy = One Broke Daddy," he read out the crooked letters with joy in his eyes. "You guys are the best."
"I wanted the one in white, you know, since we didn't know the gender," you explained. "Buck knew she'd be a girl so…"
"So, he's a psychic now?"
"No," you said simply, giving him a hug. "He's just Buck."
With hands clasped around the band of your bag, you took a look at your boyfriend's parents. You no longer had tears in your eyes, but the lingering feelings of sadness were present as you watched them. You wondered what his childhood looked like from someone else's point of view, and parents were the perfect storytellers.
But apparently his are anything but that. "I better go. Buck's waiting for me."
Saying it was a pleasure meeting them would be a lie you didn't want to tell, so you withheld it.
You were at the door when Margaret spoke up, voice quivering, "Thank you for being there for him."
"Yeah," you agreed. "Someone had to."
"Did you give him the gift? I completely forgot about it."
It was well after 10 while you drove through Los Angeles. It felt earlier than that, because people were bustling in the streets like it was the afternoon. "Yep. He loved it."
"Really?" A smile tugged at his lips, like he forgot all about what had occurred. "I knew he'd love it."
"Mhm," you mused, looking out the window. A few silent minutes after that passed when you spoke up again. "Hey babe?"
You looked at his concentrated face, the way he looked beautiful under so many lights of the passing shops and streetlights. "Are you okay?"
"I told you already," he spoke calmly, the tease in his voice returning. "I'm okay as long as you're with me."

You and Buck had been out at a family member's wedding. You weren’t particularly happy, the relative being distant and having to spend one of your only weekends off work there rather than with Buck at home. The only saving grace was your plus one, Buck, and the fact that you both had a room at the very fancy hotel the wedding venue was attached to.
The ceremony ran smoothly and you both enjoyed the free food and drink. When the pair of you had your fill of socialising, you managed to slip free of the celebrations, picking the hotel key card up on the way to your room. You snuck out with Buck, both a little tipsy and both giggling as you snuck past your family members towards the elevators.
The first thing you did when you entered the room was take off the heels you’d been wearing all day, sighing a breath of relief as you massaged each foot. You watch as Buck does the same, slipping off his dress shoes, followed by his blazer and tie, popping a few buttons to make himself more comfortable.
“Here, let me,” Buck offers. You nod in permission, turning so your back was to him. He gently begins taking out each grip and pin from your hair, setting them down on the vanity, letting down your tousled hair.
You sigh in relief as the tension on your head from the tight updo is released, “God that’s so much better,” you breathe out. Buck seems to take the hint, gently massaging your head. You let out a moan as you feel his hands drift lower, massaging at your neck and shoulders, his hands seeming to find each knot and expertly working the tension from your shoulders. You feel his hands move from your shoulders to the back of your dress as he reaches for your zipper. He gently, almost teasingly pulls it down, releasing you from the garment.
You step out of the elegant black dress, turning to face him as he begins to fiddle with his cufflinks. You place your hands over his, echoing his words from earlier as your fingers gently caress his wrist, “here, let me.”
Buck nods wordlessly, eyeing you hungrily as you take your time, as he did, slowly unbuttoning and freeing him from his shirt. Spurred on by seeing you in nothing more than your underwear, he unbuckles his belt, stepping out of his trousers. You rest your hands on the smooth planes of his pecs, rubbing your thumbs back and forth against his warm, soft skin. You lean forward placing a kiss on his chest and feel as he reaches behind you, skilfully unclasping your strapless bra; tossing it across the room to join the rest of your clothing.
Buck kisses back, his mouth moving delicately against yours at first, earning a moan from you. He takes the opportunity to slip his tongue between your parted lips, revelling in the taste. You fist one of your hands in his hair, the other round the back of his neck, holding him close to you.
“Buck…” you breathe. The pair of you back up against the foot of the bed, Buck pushing you the rest of the way, his hands roaming down the curves of your body, bringing them to rest against your hips.
The firefighter stares up at you with adoration, “you’re so perfect,” he whispers. “So fucking beautiful.” He can’t help himself as he pulls you closer to him, moving his head to take one of your nipples into his mouth. He skilfully licks and sucks, applying just the right amount of pressure, until you’re breathless, your chest heaving.
He moves to the other, grazing his teeth over the sensitive spot, his other hand massaging your free breast, his thumb rubbing gentle circles, teasing and pinching. He can tell just how worked up he has you as he splays his hand across your chest, pausing for a moment as he feels your heart pounding fiercely against his palm.
“Someone’s excited. Got you all worked up, haven’t I?”
Not wanting to be outdone or have Buck miss out on the attention, you slip out from beneath him, feeling a wave of confidence come over you as you push him back on the bed. Buck, however, is having none of it, rolling you over with ease so he’s on top, he flashes you a teasing smile, “I don’t think so sweetheart, tonight's all about you.”
He leans down, placing a kiss to your lips, your neck, moving lower as he kisses between your breasts, dipping his tongue into your navel as he passes it the further south he moves. As he moves further down, he spreads your thighs apart, positioning himself between them. You grab a fistful of his curls, guiding him to the sensitive spot between your legs.
“Please…” you moan.
The sight of Buck between your legs has you completely undone as you lift your hips further up to meet him. He places a firm hand on your abdomen, pushing you down. “I don’t think so sweetheart. I want to take my time with this.”
Content with going slowly, loving the sight of you writhing beneath him, Buck slowly strokes the sides of your waist, his strong, calloused fingers rubbing soothing circles as he drags them across your stomach and back down to your thighs.
The firefighter lowers his lips, his hot breath teasing your entrance as he presses a thumb between your outer folds. You hear him hum, no doubt as he feels the slickness there, knowing exactly what he’s doing to you. You feel one of his hands move from your thigh, using his thumb and index finger to spread your entrance. You feel him sigh, causing a shiver of anticipation run through you. You’re still unprepared as his tongue makes direct contact with your clit, causing you to jump as a jolt of electricity runs through you, Buck holds you firmly against the bed, however.
“You’re loving this aren’t you?” he whispers in a low growl. “Look at me when you cum.”
A moan is the only reply he gets from you, your eyes closed as you revel in the pure bliss he’s bringing you.
You open your eyes at the endearment. “I want you to look at me when you cum,” he asks again, more demandingly.
You open your eyes, meeting his, the lust in his eyes only fueling the overwhelming feeling building inside you. With your eyes on his, he begins to tease your clit with the tip of his tongue; using light pressure, flicking before he moves to more forceful licks, occasionally sucking at the nub. He could feel your pulse quickening where his fingers pressed into your thigh, your femoral artery bounding against his touch.
You cry out his name once more, but one quick look at Buck shows that he isn’t letting you get off that easily. He sits back, pulling off his boxers, revealing his stiff cock, already aroused just from getting you off.
With the loss of contact, your need for him only grows, and seeing his cock causes a new hunger to rise within you. As soon as he’s back between your legs, you grip his hips tight enough that you’re sure there’ll be bruises in the morning and pull him towards you. He doesn’t seem to mind, responding with a moan of his own.
“You ready for me sweetheart?” he asks, not that he needs to at the sight of you.
With that, Buck lines himself up, going slow as he gently slides into you. He allows you a moment to adjust to his size before he begins teasingly thrusting into you, building up the speed and depth gradually.
“No,” you whine as the intensity of his first thrust, wanting, no, needing more from him, “Please, Buck” you practically beg.
“I love you so fucking much, sweetheart,” a grin spreads across Buck’s face as he leans in. The kiss is gentle at first before it turns more aggressive, his thrusts matching as he begins to pound into you. You can feel the familiar tingling sensation spread through your lower body, your thighs quivering, your walls clenching against him as Buck easily brings you to the edge again.
“So close…” you whimper in response.
“I know, baby girl,” he replies, his grunts growing louder as you both draw nearer to the edge.
A few more thrusts and the pair of you can’t contain it any longer, your orgasms almost in sync as you moan Buck’s name loudly into the quiet room causing Buck to respond with a grunt of his own.
Buck pulls out carefully, discarding the spent condom before laying down next to you. The pair of you are a panting mess as you lay side by side.
“God...that was....” you let out a giddy laugh.
“Yeah…” is the only response you get as you both take a few moments longer to catch your breath.
Buck smiles, leaning across, placing a gentle kiss to the top of your head and pulling you into his chest. He pulls up the blanket from the foot of the bed, covering the pair of you, content to drift off in each other's arms after the eventful night.

You Feel Like Home
Eddie Diaz x Reader
Warnings: fem!reader, mentions of alcohol
Prompts: #15: “Did you let yourself in?” // #16: “How did you get in my house?”
Word Count: 2.1k
Author’s Note: here’s a lil something because I haven’t posted a x reader in so long. Also I didn’t check for errors cause I'm lazy so ignore any mistakes :)
It’s raining, the streets were drenching with water and muck which you found yourself staring at as you sat in your car at the intersection.
You had left your job, more like you were fired for something you didn’t do but you hated your job, 100 and 10% despited it and everyone there- needless to say, you didn’t mind not being there anymore.
The shitty weather on top of the idea of having to find a new job was putting more than damper on your day. So here you were in the middle of the day driving to your best friend’s house. He doesn't like to admit that he’s your best friend but he is and you both knew that.
The driveway was empty and the house was dark, at least from what you could see. Hopping out of the car, you make your way to the front door, the rain drenching your clothing. The key to his house hanging from the bunch you held in your hand, you let yourself in.
“Anyone home?” shouting into the dark house, slipping off your shoes.
There was no answer, you assumed Eddie was at work and Chris was still at school which made sense considering it was 2:30 on a Friday afternoon.
A puddle of water trialed behind you on your way to the bathroom, stopping to get a towel from the cupboard. The wet clothes get stripped off and tossed into the tub, making a mental note to come back and put them in the dryer after you get something to wear.
The towel now wrapped around you, you find your way down the hallway and into Eddie’s bedroom. There was a basket of folded laundry on the bed, deciding that it’s probably better to get something from the basket than to tumble through his drawers.
Just as you go to drop the towel, you hear the front door open and then a woman’s voice.
“Shit shit shit” you mumble to yourself and look around the room frantically- there’s no way you could get dressed before the person gets to the room, you have no choice but you stay the way you are.
The footsteps approaching the room, a knock on the door before it opens, Carla sticks her head in the room and you let out a breath of relief.
“Jesus, it’s just you” sitting on the bed, you smile at her and she laughs softly.
“Who’d you think it was hun?”
“I thought Eddie had come home, with a woman. That would have been hard to explain- ya know, a woman in a towel in his bedroom while he’s not home.”
“Mhm hm,” Carla has one of her famous mischievous looks on her face. “Sure, because it’s normal for you to be half naked in his bedroom when he isn't home.” She laughs.
“Were you waiting for him?” she teased, your face twists and you groan.
“Carla! No, god. I had a shitty day and I wanted to hang out. It was raining cats and dogs when I got here and my clothes got wet.” you explain what happened and she gives you a hum, stepping back out and leaving you to change.
You can hear laughter coming from the bedroom down the hall, you make your way there. Chris sat on his bed, looking out his window while he was on the phone.
“Love you too dad, bye” the phone is set beside him on the bed, you knock on the door and Chris looks back, his face lighting up when he sees you.
“Hey kiddo” smiling at the boy who’s now making his way over to you, you step into the room and meet him halfway.
“Hi! What are you doing here?” he asks you, hugging you.
“Came by to see your dad but he wasn’t home. I’m better now because you’re free” looking down at him, Christopher laughs and holds your hand as the two of you walk down the hallway to the living room. Carla brings him a snack and joins the two of you in the living room, Christopher telling you both about his day at school.
Eddie runs to the front door from his truck, the rain had been pouring all day.
“I’m home!” he shouts, as he steps in only for Carla to shush him from the kitchen.
His face screws and he makes his way down the hallway to Christopher’s room but he wasn't in there. Carla sat in the kitchen reading her book, she smiles when he steps in the kitchen.
“Hey, where’s Chris ?” he asks, washing his hands and pulling a pot out of the cupboard.
“Shower,” shutting the book, she slips it into her bag. “You’re going ?” Eddie glances over his shoulder, pouting slightly. Carla always helps him with dinner and truthfully, she’s the better cook out of the two.
“I’ve got myself a hot date tonight” She tells him, giving him a smile before making her way to the front door.
Eddie follows her, “what? really? But who’s going to keep me company while Chris does his homework ?” his hand coming up to his chest as he sighs dramatically.
Carla’s hand meets his, patting his chest. “Chris is done with his work, he had help” nodding towards the couch, Eddie follows her gesture to see you sleep on the couch.
“When did- are those my clothes ?” his mouth hung in disbelief.
Why were you asleep on his couch in his clothes ? He wasn't even home, how the hell did you get in ?
“Mhm hm” Carla hums, a soft laugh slipping past her lips. “Have fun sugar, I'll be back in the morning. Tell lil man I said bye” She steps out, pulling the door shut behind her.
The pattering of feet pulled Eddie’s attention away from a sleeping you on the couch.
“Dad!” Chris’s smile lit up the room, Eddie found himself smiling at his son.
“Hey buddy” he kneeled to hug him, holding him close after a long day at work.
“How was work ?” Christopher asks his father as the two make their way to the kitchen.
“It was a fine, normal day of us saving the city” Eddie chuckled, smiling at his son who was sitting at the table now. “Hey bud?”
“Mhm hm ?”
“When did y/n get here?”
“I don’t know, she was here when me and Carla got home” he shrugs, turning his attention back to something Eddie had left out on the table.
Eddie is half way into the fridge and it was down to its bare bones. A carton of milk, two eggs left in a tray and a half used stick of butter - guess he had forgotten to go grocery shopping yesterday.
“How does pizza for dinner sound?” Eddie turns to Chris who’s nodding eagerly. Pizza was the way to that kid’s heart.
dinner was short, the boys talked about their day. Chris told his father all about his day at school and how they learned about the atmosphere and space in science class and Eddie told him about a resume they had today - the safe for work details of course, he always left out the gruesome parts.
“So Carla told me y/n helped with your homework ?”
“Yeah, I only had math work to do. It was easy”
Eddie hums, it was still relatively early and a Friday afternoon, he thought why not have a movie night.
“Here’s the plan for tonight, you tidy up your room real quick and then we can build a fort and have movie night. How does that sound ?”
“Like a plan!” he smiles at Eddie before getting up. Eddie sits at the table watching Chris make his way into the hallway and towards the bathroom.
The sound of a snore brought him back to reality, he remembered you were still on the couch asleep. He quietly got up and made his way over, crouching in front of the couch.
You looked at peace, which was strange to him because the two of you are always bickering or poking each other about something. The only times he had seen you smile was if someone made fun of him or if you were with Chris - he had never actually seen you relaxed.
“Take a picture and leave or I'm filing a restraining order” you mumble sleepily. Eddie laughed, you were always teasing him about his stare.
Eddie stands, lifting your legs and sitting before dropping them down onto his lap. “How did you get in my house? Did you let yourself in?”
“I used the key” rolling onto your jacket, you shift upwards slightly. The disapproval on Eddie’s face was very much visible.
“I gave you that key for emergencies!”
“It was an emergency!”
Eddie sighs, his hand rubbing the piece of bare skin showing from the rolled up pants. The room is quick, the sound of the rain pouring echoed through the house.
“What’s on your mind ? I can practically see the wrinkles forming on your face”
“Hey!” you nudged him with your foot while he laughed. “Nothing,” sitting up to face him properly. “I just had a shitty day and wanted to see my bes- my friend.”
A small smile appeared on his face. “Your what ?” “Shut up Eddie”
“No no, say it” he grabs your foot, his fingers reaching to the sole of your foot. Your eyes widen, shaking your head. “Don’t you dare.”
“Oh but I do” he smirks before tickling the bottom of your foot. You try to pull your foot away but you’re laughing and wiggling around on the couch so much that you end up rolling off but your foot is still on Eddie’s lap.
There you were lying diagonally off the couch with your feet on his lap. He shifts to the floor, now sitting beside you. The two of you have your backs up against the couch.
“Seriously, talk to me. What’s up ?”
“Just wanted some company. Work was shitty and I- I don’t know. I didn’t know where to go. There’s nothing waiting for me at my place, the weather’s kinda depressing so I didn’t want to go drinking because it would just make me sad” you chuckle, turning your head to face him.
“I got in the car and just drove and I ended up here. This is home, you know? ” you admit. Humming, he smiles.
“I’m glad you felt like you could come here.”
“Well I know you couldn’t kick me out. You love me and my puppy face too much” you pout playfully making his laugh before nudging you with his shoulder.
Eddie’s arm is now over your shoulder, pulling you into his side. “You’re welcomed here anytime.” he presses a kiss to the top of your head.
Tilting your head from his shoulder, you're now face to face with him. There had always been unspoken feelings between the two of you, everyone could see that - even the two of you.
He leans in, a hand cupping your cheek like it was chiseled to fit the curve of your structure perfectly.
The palm of your hand wraps around his wrist, leaning closer to him.
This was the moment you were waiting for.
“DAD!” Chris shouts, causing Eddie to pull away. Not that either of you minded but there does that moment.
“Yeah ?” His hand was still cupping your cheek. “Can we watch a movie now?”
“Of course, pick one out.” He moves his hand to give the remote to Chris, you cheek cold from the loss of touch.
The 3 of you settle into the couch, Christopher between the two of you. The boy settled on Space Jam though he had seen it a million times.
Eddie’s arm is stretched over the back of the couch. It was bent at an awkward position, his fingers barely grazing your cheek, letting you know that he’s right there.
The two of you shared stolen glances all night, watching each other more than the movie. Eventually Chris fell asleep between the two of you.
You felt safe, peaceful, home.
This felt like home.

Buddie 405 meta
This ep was The Buckley Siblings Begin tied in to being Buck Begins and I very much love it. That’s about as much as I can say about Buck and/or the sibling relationship, because like last week, there are things that hit too close to home and I’ve been crying way too much since the ep aired. But even as an older sister, I had to say I loved this! And I loved that where Buck’s parents couldn’t see beyond their pain and looked right through him, Maddie kept every postcard and image of Buck on his journey to find himself. She saw it all and she retained it all and it all mattered. Excuse me, I am a puddle of feels.
* * *
Overall, I think out of all of the ‘Begins’ eps, Buck’s resembled Eddie’s the most in terms of structure. Both eps start with something that the protagonist needs to learn tied in to his present story by and large, then we have a crisis during a call, and eventually the way that the call is resolved ties in with the protagonist coming to embrace a resolution that will help him grow and move on from the past that was just fleshed out to us. I won’t bore you with an analysis of the other ‘Begins’ eps, but each of them is missing at least one crucial component of this structure. And I like that this means the parallels you can draw between 315 and 405 are almost endless. I like that in this, the show highlights how much these two men have in common, having been mistreated by their own parents, going through a crisis, almost giving up, but then finding exactly what they needed to move towards their own new families that they invested themselves in out of choice (Eddie finding the realization he has built a new family with the 118, and with Buck and Chris; Buck finding that Maddie was there for him even when he thought she wasn’t and, if he was unsure during the LS crossover whether his friends would come for him, learning that they would, always).
* * *
We didn’t get a lot of Buck with the firefam scenes, if you think about it. And when we did, they were short. However! In each one of those scenes, Eddie was emphasized. From the moment Buck starts voicing his pain through the humorous tone, Eddie is the first face the camera cuts to, capturing his reaction, with a zoom in, twice in a row. That Eddie was first was already telling, but for a more neutral tone, I would have expected the camera to do the second zoom in on another of Buck’s teammates, to allow them to deliver the second line that lets us know how much pain Buck is actually in. But nope, we get Eddie again. Then the camera turns to Bobby and Hen together. Yes, it will then also zoom in on the rest individually, but the pattern established of Eddie being highlighted will continue. The building explodes with Buck inside? Eddie gets a lot of zoom in shots, while Chim and Hen are mostly shown together. The team makes it inside to save Buck? Eddie will be the first to appear, the first to grab the rope which signals Buck’s rescue, and the only one zoomed in on. Buck has a scene with the firefam after he’s out and Eddie’s not there? Eddie will be the first one to greet him when Buck returns from his medical check up and they will share this scene all by themselves while Bobby just walks away like it’s obvious they need time for themselves. Hen wasn’t focused on like this while Chim was inside with the bomber. Chim wasn’t zoomed in on like this when Hen was trapped underground. If Buddie isn’t endgame, why are they so constantly emphasized in relation to each other, Buck during the well collapsing in 315 and Eddie during Buck’s internal and external turmoil in 405?
* * *
Speaking of that turmoil. We have all noticed that Buck is trying to play his pain off as a joke, right? At first Eddie reacts in kind, but then he realizes that it’s way more serious than Buck initially let on (and in this, Eddie sets the tone for the rest of the firefam in that scene, too). I wanted to point out that this made me think we keep seeing them rubbing off on each other. Just like we saw Eddie in 403 sharing weird trivia he clearly knew thanks to Buck’s passion (which is even hinted at in the dialogue), we see here that Buck has learned from Eddie’s tendency to use humor when trying to deflect pain. This is so married couple behavior, I’m astounded.
* * *
In that bar in Peru, Buck was also using his passion for trivia in order to try and connect with the guy he was serving. He drops it when the guy checks out a girl passing by, sort of laughing it off knowingly, even though they continue talking. It’s subtle and more open to interpretation, but the fact that he drops it when the guy shows his sexual interests lie elsewhere makes it seem like maybe Buck was interested, but realized the guy’s a no go. Yes, we have another bi!Buck hint IMO. Then consider how with Eddie, Buck is successful in connecting using this tactic and I’m… at a loss for words, really.
* * *
Ooof, when Eddie welcomes Buck upon his return from his medical check up, that scene is so coupley, I can’t even… First, that he was waiting for Buck to return, like a good spouse. Then, he brings back their coupley banter and Eddie looks so happy to be doing that! Next, we see Buck explaining himself, not to his Captain (who has had issues with Buck's recklessness in the past) but to Eddie, he’s the one that counts and is expected to be upset. But Eddie isn’t, doesn’t even roll his eyes (like he did, for example, at Buck’s passion for rope rescues in 316). No, he’s soft and fond and familiar, knowing that this is what Buck had to do and clearly finding something very comforting in that: in that Buck is still the guy he is even during rough times; in that Eddie gets how he is and in that Eddie values him for it. Again with the parallels to 315, think of how Eddie himself had to cut the rope, so he gets why Buck had to try and save the guy despite the risk. But then also consider the parallel with Ali in 218. She watched Buck and who he is, but couldn’t take it. Eddie not only takes it, he loves the way his husband ticks. And yes, I said husband, there is no other word for them at this point. Especially because then we get Eddie telling Buck about his parents, which suggests that he had been spending time with them, probably sharing with them the stories about how amazing Buck is. How is that not spouse behavior? Tim Minear, explain!
Thank you so much to the incredible @bicepsie for making these wonderful gifs for my meta post! xoxox Also, if you like my takes on Buddie, you can find more of my meta and fics for them here and you can find my kind of fix it fic for Buck Begins, Reflections of You, here.

Buck loves holding you hand.
And one reason for it was because it fitted into his much larger one so perfectly. He loves your hands, rather he was holding it, touching it in some way, or comparing the sizes. He enjoys giggling at how much smaller your hand was to his. But most of all he loves how it was like it was made just for him…
But you two were meant to be.
He loves your freckles. He loves how it makes you even more adorable. He loves the faint little dots littering you face, where you can only see it if you were paying attention or closed up to you. And Buck was always paying attention to you. How couldn’t he? He loves to lightly trace them as they covered your cheeks and nose. You didn’t know why he did it. But it made sense to him, to you let him be.
“They’re horrible.” You moaned as you looked at the crow feet by you eyes, the ones that always appear when you smile or laugh. “I’m never gonna smile again.”
“I love them.” He told you, arms wrapping round you waist as you looked at yourself in the mirror. He pressed a kiss to one, and you smiled, allowing him to kiss it again and again. “I love you.”
“My stomach is to big.” You stretched the little poach of your stomach.
“It’s perfect, I could never love a stomach more than yours.”
“But my thighs…their so thick.” You whined as you pinched the skin of it. “And don’t get my started on that dimple at the bottom of my spine. Why can’t I-”
Buck took your cheeks into his hands to make you look at him and understand what his trying to say.
“I love you and everything about you endlessly. I don’t ever want you to change.”
He never told anyone about the little things he loved so much about you as he just wanted it to be his. He wanted them to be his little secret, the thing he can love in secret as they were just perfect for him. You were perfect to him, and he didn’t need anything else. But if he did tell people, he wouldn’t be lying about not loving the little things.
He was in love with you and all of the little things you do.
He knew you bedtime routine. He knew that you took of any make-up you may have worn that day. He knew you showered before going to sleep, to get all the dirt from working at the 118 off from you. He knew you moisturised you skin. But he also knew that you could never sleep without a cup and tea.
He knew you talked in your sleep, but he thinks it the caffeine you drink before bed. But he loved the tiny nonsense conversation you had when you were asleep. But you didn’t know you talked in your sleep. No one did. It was his secret, along with those conversations you had that never made sense to him.
“My voice sounds horrible; I don’t want to record a voicemail.”
“No one likes their voice, baby. It’s because we hear it differently than everyone does. And your voice,” he placed his hands on your waist, pulling you closer, and he grabbed you phone in the other hand opening up the voicemail for you to change. “Is perfect to me.”
Firefighter always had to do fitness training, meaning weighing was something you had to do.
You never liked finding out what you weighed, so you just looked up and asked the person to not tell you a single number the scales tells them. Because it will never be perfect to you.
You knew it wouldn’t be perfect as you still had to squeeze into you jeans.
But you are perfect.
You were perfect to Buck, and he wish you could see you the way he does.
He still kept the little things a secret, as it was only for him to know. All these secrets of you he adored, and you didn’t even know. You never saw the way he looked at you. But if the secret was to ever spill, he wouldn’t deny it. He was in love with everything you do.
He was in love with you and all of the little things you do.
And maybe one day you will love yourself, but when that day comes you will never be able to love yourself the way Buck loves you. And he knew you never treated yourself like the queen you are, but he wished you did. He wish you could love yourself and see how perfect you are.
“I’m here for you.” He always reminded you with a kiss on the nose. He always wanted you to know that he wasn’t going anywhere. You were it for him. All of you was what he wanted and nothing more and nothing less. Maybe if you knew he was he to stay, you would allow him to see more of the little things. He wanted to see it all and love it all with everything he got.
Because you were perfect to him and he was in so love with you and all the little things you do.
And maybe one day you will love yourself the way he loves you.
But he would never tell you these things as he never wanted you to change. He loves you the way you are. But, if one day someone found out his endless love for you and your little things, he would ramble about you nonstop, like he always does, but he never tells anyone, including you, his love for the little things you do.
He was in love with you and all of the little things you do.
Buck has never loved anyone the way he loves you.
And he has never loved the little things before he saw yours.
He was in love with you and all of the little things you do.

I’m So Sorry, Evan…(2)
“Buck, it’s (Name).” she said.
angst - severe injury, death mention, near death experience
evan buckley x gn! reader
“what do you mean?” he asked rather loudly.
Eddie raised his eyebrow and turned towards Buck, “you okay? what’s going on?” he questioned.
Buck simply shook his head and out his finger up to his lips. he needed to listen to what Maddie was saying otherwise he was going to assume the worst, but unfortunately, that had already happened.
“how do i — okay…that accident that you’re on your way to, the one-“
“hold on, Maddie. we’re here. i’ll call you back later, okay?” Buck said, getting ready to out his phone away.
Maddie panicked, “Buck, listen to me. the victim is (Name). i’ve been trying to tell you, but- hello? Buck?”
he had already hung up. everyone quickly rushed out of the truck to assess the situation. it honestly didn’t look too good from the outside, they would be lucky if anyone even survived.
the helicopter had been pressed into the entire right side of the car. the propellers were shoved through practically every opening it could find. Hen and Chimney were the first to approach the car to inspect the victims. when Hen spotted you, she quickly looked back at Buck and swallowed hard. Chimney looked into the helicopter window and noticed that the pilot was dead. from the looks of it, he had been killed on impact.
Hen rushed back over to Bobby and glanced once more at Buck before started to speak, “the pilot appeared to die on impact, but Cap…the other victim is (Name).”
Buck’s heart dropped to the floor. he felt sick to his stomach. he stepped back before putting his hand over his mouth and looking at your car.
he knew it looked familiar.
“okay, Eddie you go with Chimney and secure both the car and helicopter. Hen, be as careful as you can getting into that car and stabilize (Name).” Bobby quickly barked out.
everyone rushed into action and started grabbing their equipment. Bobby turned to Buck and grabbed his shoulder firmly.
“you need to help them out.” Bobby said.
Buck opened his mouth, but he couldn’t get any words to come out. he was absolutely terrified at the thought of losing you. what if he made a mistake? it would be his fault that you lost your life. Buck couldn’t deal with something like that.
“i know, i know. it’s terrifying, but if you don’t get over there and help out your team, (Name) has an even greater chance of dying.”
that’s what pushed Buck.
he cleared his throat and rushed off to help his colleagues.
you tried to turn your head, but found it difficult to. there was a lot of noises coming from all around you, but you couldn’t pinpoint exactly where they were coming from.
“(Name)?” you looked to the side.
“Hen!” you smiled, your voice was slurred.
she chuckled, “there you are. how are you feeling?” you knew she was trying to distract you.
you had already seen the severity of your injuries. you flexed your fingers and flinched as the propeller move a bit in your side, blood had started to pour back out of the wound. your eyes widened as you saw the blood spilling towards your feet.
“hey, hey, hey…don’t look at that. look at me, okay?” Hen said, breathing in and out with you.
“where’s — where’s Buck?” you asked.
“he’s out there. we’re working to get this chopper off of you. you’re gonna be just fine.” Hen reassured.
“i can’t feel anything, Hen.” you chuckled bitterly, “it’s absolutely terrifying. you, you see these things on a daily basis, but have you ever thought about how it feels? not being able to feel anything…”
Hen shook her head, “don’t talk about that.”
she began to apply pressure around the wound.
the propeller was detached from the helicopter and moved away. it was just you and Hen in the car as it was carefully being set upright.
Chimney popped up in the window next to you, attempting to survey what was going on inside.
“i can’t even feel my legs anymore…” you said, your voice was barely above a whisper. “please don’t waste your energy.”
“you’ve made it this far, (Name).” Chimney said, “don’t give up on us now.”
Eddie got the jaws and pried open the driver’s side door. soon, the entirety of the 118 was closing in on the car, trying to find the safest way to remove the propeller and get you out of the car.
“how’re their vitals, Hen?” Bobby called out.
Hen glanced at the machine, “they’re dropping, Cap. if we don’t get them out of here soon, they won’t make it.” she called back.
Bobby nodded and turned towards Buck, “in case things take a turn for the worst, you need to be there beside them.” he said.
Buck hesitated. he didn’t want to see to you die, but there was a chance they could save you. he needed to bet on that chance.
“(Name).” he inhaled sharply.
you looked pale. Buck was scared to get close.
“Buck…” you breathed, “you’re here.”
he brushed your hair out of your face, “i am. i’m here, okay? so please, please hold on a little longer.”
“i’m so sorry.” you sobbed.
Buck pressed his lips to the side of your head.
“don’t cry. it’s all going to be okay. it isn’t your fault..”
“i love you, Buck.”
“…i — i love you too, (Name).”
he hadn’t been able to sleep in weeks.
the images of the accident were constantly on repeat within his mind. your last words to him, the sight of your blood on the ground. it was deeply engrained in his brain. there was no way he would ever be able to forget the way you looked at him.
you had looked so sad, but your eyes were full of pure love and adoration for your partner.
that morning, he got the call.
Buck rushed to the hospital. Bobby was already there waiting for him. he had been the only one to stay in the waiting room when everyone else had gone home to get some rest.
“they’re really awake? you’re not just messing with me here, Cap?” Buck asked a dozen questions.
“go see for yourself.” Bobby said, pushing Buck into the direction of your hospital room.
and sure enough, there you were.
you were silently sipping on a cup of water. the nurse had just left to run a few more tests and so you were left with nothing to do.
“(Name)...” Buck said softly.
you turned your head to the side and smiled, “how did i know you would be the first one to show up when i woke up?” you teased.
he quickly sat beside you and grabbed your hand. it was still cold and you were still pale, but you were alive.
“don’t be so surprised to see me. you always said i was stubborn.” you said.
“too stubborn.” Buck laughed.
you reached up and caressed his face, “you look like crap.” you snorted.
he grabbed your hand and brought it to his lips. “i’ve been so worried about you.” he whispered against your palm.
“i’m sorry for worrying you.” you hummed.
“you can make it up to me by never leaving my side again.” Buck said jokingly, but there was a hint of seriousness in his voice.
“if only you didn’t live in your sister’s dining room.”
Buck shook his head and chuckled, “then i’ll just have to move in with you. how’s that?”
“i’d like that very much.” you smiled.
seeeeee happy ending! i’m totally not the worst author to ever exist by making y’all wait an entire month for a shitty part 2 lmfao my baddd
