All This Time for me, echoes Sisyphus and his boulder; the push for eternity, and the inevitable roll back when you’re near the peak.

And I keep on building mountains hoping that they’ll turn to gold, but the truth is I still doubt that what I do can get me home.

This is… yeah, this is the trudge. It’s I don’t know what else to do, so I’ll keep building these foundations until they’re monuments, I’m looking around and staring desolate and I don’t know where to put my shaky hands or which direction to start walking in, so I’ll build and carry on, and hope one day what I produce will feed a nation, will validate or be validated maybe, will turn sparkling in the sunlight, a monk nurturing a spring that becomes the ocean, stood solitary with no way home, no chance to go backwards, stood with the turrets and the blood and the dirt of years.

Sometimes, sometimes I lose my hope because don’t we all when the gratification isn’t instant, when the grind sinks into your pores. When we have a goal and trip and stumble and have start all over again, raise from the bed or the grave on creaky bones and wonder what is the point? But it’s worse because Sometimes I lose your hope and… that is so much worse because it’s like a feather on a breeze, your hope that drags me through.

ken is the son of a wealthy japanese heiress and a high-profile american plastic surgeon. their second son, he was born in late november during a snowstorm. he was well loved by his mother, babied, brought with her all over the globe as she travelled; though ken was less beloved to his father, who already had the perfect son in ken's older brother. their family, although not unhappy, were rarely together for longer than a few days at a time. his father would fly around the globe to provide expensive surgeries to high-profile individuals, and his mother was busy entertaining guests.

although he tried, ken struggled to keep up with his brother in all aspects of their life. while his brother excelled in school, well on his way to taking residence in his father's practice, ken struggled to understand the difficult concepts their tutors proposed to them. his brother was a well-talented musician, and ken was tone deaf. this wasn't necessarily a point of contention for the two young men, but it meant that there was an ever growing riff between them that didn't allow them to be close, no matter how much ken craved a relationship with his sibling & his father.

his childhood was relatively uneventful. he would fly to different cities with his mother, see the sights, talk to the people whom she surrounded herself with, or he would sit at home in their large, new york mansion, alone. he had friends, always excitable and easy-going, but rich kids themselves they were often out-of-state on their own adventures. when it came time for him to go off to school, like his brother did, ken picked something he thought would be easy: a philosophy major (because he could think, couldn't he ? )

last year, ken, his older brother and his father were out boating with a few of his father's friends. they were drinking, and his father had gotten too drunk. unaware of the boat that was coming at them, the two collided. luckily, nobody was injured, but when the police arrived on the scene, his father was quick to turn the blame onto ken-- fear of losing his reputation and business kicking in. ken, always quick to try and please his father and outnumbered by his father, brother, and the other men on the boat, didn't have the guts to argue with the men he looked up too, and simply took the fall.

ken was sent to a high-end rehab facility for a few months, stepping away from his masters' degree to do so. he wasn't struggling with alcoholism as the accident ( and his father ) suggested, so the motions that he was put through didn't do very much for him. still, he found it relaxing to step away from the busy bustle of socialite life and relax in the comfort of the well-resourced facility that he was a part of. he spent a lot of time participating in sports and other activities,

recently out of the facility, he's gone back to pursuing his masters with a bit more caution about being around his family.

ken is just big dumb jock energy, but like, in the good way. man is a major himbo, and while never really having to experience hardships before, he's just kind of here for a good time, and ideally for a long time, though that is a second priority. there's not much to him, under the surface: his head is empty, and he's just cruising through life. he's a big sports guy, and takes part in a lot of different teams, though he's not good enough to really go professional or anything. he's super friendly and finds it easy to make friends with just about anyone, though he will try to avoid conflict when presented with it ( as he's done in the past. ) he tends to avoid talking about himself, mainly because he doesn't have a good sense of his own identity.

Hello, everyone. My name is Alexander Cypress, a former competitive trainer on the Sinnoh circuit. I recently finished a Master’s Degree at Celadon University, with the end goal of becoming a professor someday.

I’ll be sharing the occasional tidbits that I’ve picked up, whether in classes or along my journey. Feel free to request more detailed information on particular Pokémon, but please, don’t take me as a definitive authority. I’m still learning, just as you are.

If I’m going to be away for a substantial amount of time, I’ll be handing the blog over to a trusted friend, most likely Eva. She’s a Pokémon medical researcher, and far more knowledgeable about internal biology than I am.
