why are you unlovable?
Tumblr media
you just want it too badly
you love with your whole body, it’s not bad, but it’s overwhelming. sometimes giving others space can be okay, i know you’re scared of losing them but it will be better in the long run if you also learn how to be your own person. codependency is scary, but you are brave.

i don’t even have anything to say actually. i was expecting to make a review post about tlou2 but there’s really nothing to say.
however i will repeat my past posts anyway because we all love suffering and dr uckmann likes making us suffer
things i liked:
dina !!! jesse !!! lev !!! yara !!! tommy before he was like That !!! jj !!!
exploration was fun besides seattle day 1 (bars) which was, personally, a huge slog on ellie’s behalf
rlly cool location design (aquarium, wlf stadium, jackson)
the rat king fight was actually super fun
LOVE LOVE LOVE the design for the building bridges with lev and abby it was one of the best parts of the game
i actually liked the abby ellie theatre fight (but i liked the david fight and feel like comparing ellie and david is a heretic comparison)
b o a t i n g
accessibility options !!! super cool !!!
the silenced gun you get in the resort chapter
all the collectible notes - that stuff is always rlly cool to me, i love it
the design for some of the buildings ! the cafes, the hotel w abby and lev, the salons, the bike shop, etc... all rlly cool and just. idk. dynamic and realistic
abby’s crossbow................ so incredibly sexy
how they showed off abby’s fear of heights... very cool !!! also several tims i went “you can do it abs” when trying to make her cross the bridge and then immediately didn’t like myself for it xx LKSJDFLK
rain sounds :) says my asmr-loving ass
good graphics !!! very pretty at times !!!
dina and jesse and lev and yara and tommy :) oh an alice ! a queen :’)
the flashbacks w ellie and joel !!! the museum flashback was very cool !!!
things i did not like
ellie’s seattle day 1, esp the open world area - i felt so disconnected and bored the whole time
ellie calling dina a burden.... i don’t think she would literally ever do that no matter how betrayed she felt by dina surprising her with the pregnancy thing
jesse getting shot in the face incredibly quickly and then not having him mentioned a single time after that ? ellie writes about him in her journal, like, once
playing as abby before jackson... felt very weird ??? idk why it just felt so so unnecessary
tommy being very ooc ??? like ??? weirdly so ??? breaking up with maria
killing dogs :) did not like that at all bc animal death is incredibly upsetting for me
hey neil could you have put in more characters getting hanged or hung from posts ????? could you really ???
abby’s completely inconsistent writing
lev being deadnamed and misgendered SO MUCH - why couldn’t they call him apostate instead ???
the excessive and graphic violence, especially in the abby/ellie fight at the end and the boss fight with the scar at the end of haven - did not wanna watching abby stab that man in the face 3-4 times and having him spurt blood everywhere
giving yara such a shitty death where lev didn’t even get to say goodbye.......... even though he lost his mom like 30 minutes earlier............... wig
making marlene sympathetic in salt lake city and having abby’s dad coerce her into otherwise, which makes joel shooting her point blank in the head at the end of the first game even worse (especially bc he’s a white man and she’s a woc) because it’s obvious that she wasn’t entirely convinced and could have been swayed relatively easily
the abby and ellie fight. wig. it was so terrible watching these two incredibly weak and vulnerable women fight completely bloodied and soaked with water and grunting with pain/exertion the whole time. it’s like a 4 minute scene in which abby bites ellie’s fingers off and ellie sinks a knife into abby’s chest and then we watch abby’s face as ellie attempts to drown her. THAT above everything else in the game feels like murder
again, so many people getting hanged or being strung up, which makes me very very upset if that thing about neil druckmann liking horror bc he saw a video of a lynching once is true, can’t stop thinking about that post,
a homophobe yelling at ellie and dina for no reason........ couldn’t he have called ellie lazy or something like ????? they did not need to be called a slur ?????
maria forcing ellie to talk to the man who called her a slur for no reason and the man not even really apologizing for it (probably bc he didn’t want to lol....... but that’s just my opinion)
the scars and rattlers feeling unnecessary and shoe-horned in - again i don’t play a zombie game for the final bosses to all be human and so i can be told that “humans are the real bad guys” over and over again
HOW HAVE I NOT MENTIONED THE ABBY AND OWEN SEX SCENE ALREADY. H. HUH ???????? WHO WANTED THAT !!!!
neil druckmann wanted joel to say “sarah” when he died LMAO THAT MAKES ME WANNA DIE
once again getting the best gun in the game in the final 20 minutes for no reason ? i actually don’t understand why they do that
their respective seattle day 1/2/3 not being one after the other instead of all in a row, which made the story feel choppy and didn’t rlly flow smoothly - obvs we all knew where it was going, but having a back-and-forth would have been good for pacing because i completely forgot about ellie and the literal plot of the game after 1 day with abby
abby’s entire seattle day 1/2/3 having nothing to do with the main plot literally at all, her sudden liking of lev felt completely inconsistent to her character and everything about her
joel’s death being humiliatingly pathetic, for literally no reason
the abby/ellie theatre fight in which ellie is the bad guy and you play that fight the same way you play the fight with a cannibal rapist in the first game
abby going after the man who killed her dad even tho everyone kills someone’s family member every day in this world to survive so why should joel specifically be demonized for that as if abby didn’t kill a single person who wasn’t an orphan and an only child
the guitar minigame was cool but like. i wanna know how much time they spent developing that bc it was not very necessary
obviously all the lying in the trailers
and like. a lot of other things i will probs remember and add to this list in the morning. anyway if i play this game again it will just be for abby’s seattle parts which are in no way related to or about the first game or first half of the second game in any way shape or form. OKAY NOW I’M DONE I PROMISE

Stop Over Thinking
    “I think; therefore, I am.”
Yet often, we overthink.
When we over-analyze our lives, it usually comes from a place of ego, fear, or the need to feel in control. Our existence runs deeper than mere thought. We’re beings who think, strategize, & want. We have intuitions that guide us with our heart & the subconscious, which when dreaming takes on a life of its own. If we cultivate that awareness into our existence as much as the brain & our thoughts, we allow life to take its course. Overthinking never changed the outcome of anything.
When we focus our thinking excessively on one thing, we sometimes sabotage the very thing we’re thinking about. Be it a promotion at work, a call from our partner, or the happiness & success of our children’s future, this kind of overthinking can lead to obsessive-compulsive disorders, adverse emotional reactions, & imagined dreadful scenarios.
We all have to think about the difficult choices we face in our lives. How to respond to the current state of affairs – including a pandemic, the appalling number of young black men murdered due to systemic racism in our country, & our personal circumstances as well. However, from time to time, we need to turn off our brains to allow for healing & growth. The power to let go of repetitive thoughts that often turn negative can be liberating, creating space for growth & lasting change.
When you overthink, your mind tricks you into thinking it’s always right, even when it’s wrong. It may also cause unnecessary stress on the psyche & body. Unwanted thoughts that spiral out of control can destroy your feeling of self-worth. However, discovering ways to turn our thoughts on & off can strengthen your inner calm allowing a more organic outcome to be reached.
Yoga & Meditation Practice. During these trying times, when you find yourself at home with more time to think & less opportunity to move, look for a podcast or class on YouTube or live-stream Vimeo courses. Yoga flow classes that get the blood circulating & meditation practices that harness our full attention to our breathwork alleviate unwanted chatter in the brain.
Take a Walk – The ego is in constant dialogue with our thoughts & our ego/pride often steer us in the wrong direction. Taking a walk in nature or listening to classical music can instill a deeper connection with your spirit & humanity at large. Pushing all sound & devices to the side & merely taking out a journal to jot our thoughts down is another liberating way to clear the cobwebs in your head. A repetitive sentence or two words such as, “let go, let go, let go,” will help us harness inner calm.
Read a Book. Overthinking can overtax your adrenals & send your stress levels to the moon. Our thoughts can be weapons of destruction or bells of peace. Picking up a delicious novel & allowing your mind to relax & get swept away in a story outside of ourselves can help lessen anxiety &inspire your creative side. Overthinking what could, should or would have been, will get tossed to the wind as your imagination runs wild & free in the book’s newfound characters, plots, & sub-plots.
A mind consumed with negative or obsessive thoughts leaves little room for your creative self & the chance to build an authentic relationship with yourself & others. When we think we know every answer or solution, we aren’t able to listen, learn, or evolve. Try listening more & see what happens. You may find you feel a deeper connection with your partner, friends, & family. Inadvertently, you’ll take a chance to learn something that might profoundly shift your life in a positive direction. Had you been thinking about your response & not fully engaging in conversation, you might have lost the opportunity for new & innovative ways of engaging, thinking & being.
How many times in your life have you thought something would happen the way you imagined or wanted it to, & it did not? Now think about all the energy you wasted worrying about the outcome & worse, being disappointed when it didn’t turn out the way you had hoped. Perhaps, in the end, you thought the result would be negative, but it turned out to be positive. Either way, if you learn how to let go of the thinking mind & breathe into a calm mind, you’ll start to manifest a happier & healthier life.
Take one day, one breath, one thought at a time, & let your overthinking melt-away, leaving you calm, clear, & ready to face life with a renewed vigor.

Title: Holy Ground
Characters/Pairings: Dean Winchester/Castiel
Rating: PG-13 for heavy making out, slight violence, and Dean’s language.
Summary: Trying to drown out Michael’s relentless attempts at breaking out, Dean goes running in the early morning and winds up encountering more than he bargained for. A lot more. 2186 words.
Notes: I wanted to write something for Dean and Cas’ anniversary, and I’ve been listening to a lot of Taylor Swift lately, so here we are.
Disclaimer: I don’t anything regarding Supernatural or any of its characters. This was written purely for recreational purposes, and no profit is being made from this. I also don’t own “Holy Ground” by Taylor Swift, some of the lyrics of which are the source of inspiration for this particular story.
You can also find this piece at AO3 here:  https://archiveofourown.org/works/20407789/chapters/49155086
Running is its own kind of music, Dean finds. He likes to run; he can create his own rhythm, set his own pace. It’s one of his more practical hobbies, helping to keep him in fighting shape and to burn off the excess booze and burgers he tends to consume on a daily basis. Running is one of the few forms of exercise that Dean understands and understands well; after all, he’s been running his whole life long.
Running is also an escape; Dean can shut off the rest of the world when he runs, creating his own sort of peace.
Even if that peace only lasts for the time it takes for Dean to complete the run.
When he runs by choice, there are no monsters to be hunted, no world on the verge of falling over the precipice for the umpteenth time. There is only the music: the combined melodies of his feet pounding the dirt, his heart pounding in his chest, and the pounding of his music playing overly loud in his ears.
Running might not be a sunny April afternoon winding down the road in Baby, Sam and Cas by his side after a long hunt, but it comes pretty damn close.
And it’s the best weapon he currently has at his disposal to deal with the unrelenting pounding on the door inside of his head. Michael grows more demanding, more violent, the longer they hold out; the more time they spend searching for a cure outside of a box at the bottom of the ocean. Dean doesn’t trust himself to sleep tonight, in the same way he hasn’t trusted himself to sleep for the past two nights straight, dangerous and unstable territory. And running will, in the long run, only drain him of more energy. But what else can he do, when he fears losing control, falling under as Michael takes control of him once again, this time, for good?
Running gives him a sense of control; Dean is quick to shrug off his flannel and his jeans in exchange for a worn Led Zepplin t-shirt and his favorite pair of running shorts, a rusted beige color that practically matches Cas’ trench coat. After quickly slipping on some socks, he grabs his keys, his wallet, his phone and his headphones; he sneaks in an ankle gun and an ankle knife into his socks, careful as he ties his running shoes.
It takes him all of ten minutes to get ready, even with Michael screaming in his head. He queues up his favorite running playlist, one Cas helped him make, and presses play as he slips his headphones over his head. Full of Led Zepplin, Motorhead, AC/DC, and, yes, Bon Jovi, Dean gives himself over to the wailing of the guitar and the stomping drums as he makes his way out of the bunker and into the night.
A quick glance at his phone tells him it’s 3:15 in the morning. Even though Lebanon’s a small town, and the bunker is situated even further in the middle of nowhere, Dean knows he’s taking a risk going out on his own like this. With all of the things that go bump in the night that want him dead? He’s basically a running bullseye.
But he’s always loved the woods around the bunker, the way nature seems so especially raw and untamed so far from human civilization. He loves the feeling of unpaved dirt beneath his feet and unbroken wilderness surrounding him; he loves the way all of it makes him feel so unbound, so without limits. So free.
He’s quick to dismiss any concerns and worries - tonight is all about running hard enough to silence the archangel running riot in his brain.
Dean’s appreciative of the coolness of the night air, the way it flows down his throat like a strong whiskey as he breathes and nips at his bare skin like an early morning frost. The world glows dull silver beneath the moon and stars, shadows bursting out in abundance between the trees like weeds. With Robert Plant crooning in his ears and the offbeat beauty of the world around him, Dean almost forgets how screwed he and the rest of the world happen to be in that moment. He can almost believe heaven really is a place on Earth.
That moment of belief doesn’t last long.
A sudden impact of another body striking against his own forces Dean’s headphones away, flying through the air and landing in a nearby bush. Dean flails as his body hits the ground, a distinct thumping sound commemorating the occasion.
“Fuck!” He shouts, wincing as his head bounces against bare dirt and the world turns into a carousel of blurs and faded edges. He reaches for the knife in his left ankle, but the asshole who charged him blocks him from doing so. He only just has time to glance up and see a second set of teeth descending from the young (young looking) man above him before his instincts kick in and he rolls.
But the vampire is strong, a seasoned fighter; he moves with Dean and winds up trapping him against the ground after a second roll. The world spins, an archangel yells, and a vampire grins just inches from his face, poised to take a bite. Dean’s going to die; Michael will take control, and he can’t stop any of it from happening. Panic begins to rise in his throat like bile.
A swooping sound rattles the air and silver flashes; the smirk on the vampire’s face flies off with the rest of his head as the blade of a machete cuts it clean off. Behind the weapon, one angel of the Lord stands, expression fierce as he waits for the vampire head to finally land. He gives the remaining body a good kick, sending it over towards the head.
 “Cas. Thank God.”
Dean lets himself relax into the ground for a moment, trying to catch his breath. Which is, of course, when Michael increases the intensity with which he pounds on the door inside Dean’s head, and Dean, vulnerable and exposed, writhes, a worm caught on a particularly nasty hook.
 “Dean!”
Cas shouts his name but Dean can barely hear him over the waves of pain shooting through him. He groans, clutching at his head; he can feel the heat and weight of tears as they spill down the side of his face just as Cas kneels beside him, pulling him up and in towards his chest. Instinctively, Dean reaches for what he can of Cas’ coat, fingers curling in the rough and worn fabric as Michael beat, beat, beats against the door in his head. (He thinks he can feel the wood of said door start to splinter.)
“Cas,” he groans, almost sobs. “Cas, he’s so loud. I can’t - ” And he hates this; hates that he’s breaking, hates that he’s so vulnerable and weak and exposed. He’s supposed to be the strong one, the one holding Team Free Will together by his sheer stubbornness alone. But right now, in this moment, Dean is drowning (again), only able to really cling to the one lifeboat in sight.
“Shh,” Cas pulls him in close, the warmth of his body seeping through what little space remains between them. In spite of his wincing, Dean catches sight the moment Cas’ eyes light up silver blue with grace; his chest tightens as the air leaks out of his lungs at the beauty of that grace as Cas presses a hand to the top of Dean’s head.
“I’m louder,” Cas declares, his features contorting into a particularly determined expression that doesn’t help with Dean’s current state of dizziness. A fluttering sound echoes in the brittle early morning air, and, suddenly, Dean finds himself cocooned by both Cas himself and his wings. Or, what remains of his wings, at least. The tips of those wings feel like cool cotton against his heated face; Dean can almost taste the flush that spreads out across his cheeks as he lets out a noise that can only be described as a whimper at the sensation.
Another moment, and Michael’s pounding dulls, just a bit. Whatever injuries he’s sustained in being tackled to the ground are gone, and it is just enough for Dean to pull himself up a bit; enough for the world to come back into focus. Funny how the world looks exactly like Cas, he thinks. And he should move; should go and look for his phone and headphones. But he can’t move; he can’t bring himself to part from this peace painted shades of silver and blue.
His hands are still very much entwined with the fabric of Cas’ coat, and his gaze is still very much fixed upon the blue gaze above him, bright and warm as starlight. Dean’s throat is dry, as if he’s gone too long without water. His heartbeat is now racing, picking up at a graceless, crooked pace as his heart tries to claw its way up his throat. Feelings he’s spent nearly as much effort at keeping at bay as he has keeping an archangel imprisoned in his mind find their way through all of his cracks as Cas tightens his arms around him.
“Cas,” Dean breathes. No. Prays. Cas’ name on his lips is a prayer, a plea – a desperate verse from a song gone unsung for far too long. His fingers curl in Cas’ trench coat; his lungs and heart beat wildly, a raising crescendo from an old folk song, as he brings his face closer to Cas.
“Dean,” Cas replies, and Dean swears he can see every thought and feeling he’s ever had about the angel reflected in those blue eyes, blue as the best days spent out on the road, chasing after a hunt. Blue as the thunder that announced Cas’ presence when they first met.
Dean’s eyes flutter and fall shut just as Cas’ lips press against his own and the angel tugs the hunter as close as he possibly can against him. He’s right, Dean realizes; Cas really is louder. For once, Michael grows quiet. Buried, almost, by the very essence of Cas.
That first kiss turns into a second turns into a third. With each push and pull, the kisses grow in intensity and desire, blooming from so many years spent nurtured in unspoken words and loaded gestures. Cas parts Dean’s mouth with his tongue; Dean presses Cas’ name into the angel’s tongue, letting all of his most intimately vulnerable pieces follow suit.
 “Cas.” (I love you.)
 “Cas.” (I need you.)
 “Cas.” (Don’t leave me.)
“Cas.” (I’ve loved you since I first saw you.)
And Cas answers with those same words, spoken in the language of Dean’s own name. Dean’s hands move into Cas’ hair, and Cas’ hands move all over. One hand finds its way to the place on Dean’s shoulder where the mark of his hand once stood out, raw and read against pale skin. Cas clasps his hand around that shoulder, and Dean shudders, Cas’ name falling from his mouth like a beloved Led Zepplin lyric.
Dean has never mentioned this to anyone, not Sam, nor even to Cas himself, but he remembers the exact moment Cas’ hand touched his shoulder down in Hell. He remembers the sudden sparks, like shattering lights, racing from Cas’ grip to travel all throughout Dean’s body; he remembers his soul catching fire, a different kind of fire from the sulfur and brimstone caging him in the Pit.
This morning, his soul is struck by lightning.
Cas’ wings seem to flutter above them both, delicate yet slightly frenzied, like a butterfly taking flight. They keep brushing against Dean, light, feathery touches that seem to warm him all the way down to his bones.
Dean isn’t sure whether he’s falling or flying; Cas is gentle as he lays him down on the ground. But, God, he wants to keep doing this forever as he and the angel blur all of their lines together. The sun starts to rise, but the moon lingers; gold, ombre, and silver all blur their lines together too.
Too much entwined with Cas, Dean fails to notice that his phone has landed fairly close beside the pair of them, his headphones not much further in the distance. He also fails to notice that, in the scuffle, the phone shifted from his running playlist to the playlist he’d put together as a potential new mixtape for Cas a few months ago, a playlist much less rigid in structure and filled with songs he would never openly admit to liking.
Currently, that playlist is blaring one Taylor Swift song repeat, Taylor Swift who sings of dancing and never looking down.
Dean discovers a new kind of running in the break of dawn; Cas learns what it means to never look down.
While they blaspheme together, while they concentrate their own ground, Taylor sings:
“Cause darling, it was good never looking down. And right there where we stood was holy ground.”

✨ you are Ice! (Water/Earth or Water/Fire)
Tagged by: @starkastichotmess
Tagging: Steal it!
Core Strengths: Ice is calm, imaginative, wise, patient, adaptable, observant, artistic, idealistic, rational, practical, dependable, fair-minded, respectful, honest, loyal, and insightful Possible Weaknesses: When immature, Ice might be depressed, pessimistic, passive, indecisive, self-loathing, overly cautious, unsocial, shy, stubborn, bitter, judgmental, callous, excessively serious, or withdrawn from reality.
Ice is cool, calm, collected, logical, and abstract. It combines the calm, serenity, insight, adaptability, and wisdom of Water with the order, consistency, loyalty, and practicality of earth. They are creatures of cold, crystalline beauty – elegant and unapproachable. They are deep, mysterious, and inscrutable – yet they see the rest of the world with astounding clarity. They have a big-picture view of life and tend to be meticulous planners. Ice is also generally a very good judge of character, so long as Ice does not give in to pessimism or cynicism. That is one of Ice’s great internal struggles – the conflict between an intense inner idealism and pessimism about how corrupt the world is. Ice is exceptionally perfectionistic. Ice is also known for its subtly determined nature. Instead of trying to break through barriers, Ice finds another way. When the barrier is weak or if Ice finds just the right angle, it breaks through with the force of a massive iceberg. Yet against stronger or more aggressive forces, Ice adapts, melts, flows around boulders, through piles of debris, over dams, and even through the smallest cracks. When it finds such small opening, it freezes – expanding and cracking the barrier apart. Ice plans everything meticulously in advance and can be seen as opportunistic since it never lets any opportunity go to waste. Ice is very independent and often stubborn, but not aggressive or bossy. Rather than try to force the world to conform to itself, it bends and moves to suit the circumstances, subtly influences the world from the shadows, or else it simply leaves. Ice knows when to withdraw and leave a hopeless organization, pointless debate, or harmful relationship.
Solitude is natural and comfortable for Ice, so it very capable of leaving toxic situations behind and not looking back. This tendency to choose an isolated lifestyle may be in reaction to past hurt or betrayal or it could just as easily stem from being highly introverted. It often views society as a whole as being cruel, stupid, chaotic, or threatening. Ice is very structured, orderly, rational, and logical. They are punctual, organized, detail-oriented, planned, and are excellent at either creating or running vast, complicated systems – whether for business, politics and other practical concerns or for philosophy, religion, science, or other more abstract pursuits. They have both the creativity and wisdom to create as well as the practicality and diligence to administrate. They are strong and stable, honest and loyal, fair-minded and rational, orderly and reliable.
Under stress and pressure that would break anyone else, Ice still stands like an ancient, unconquerable glacier. This ability to think well in both abstract and concrete ways makes Ice a natural planner. Everything in Ice’s life goes to serve The Plan: an extremely complex life-long plan for success that incorporates every foreseeable variable and contingency. Often, Ice begins making The Plan while still a small child and continues to refine it and re-work it across his or her life. Their ability to predict the future is mysterious and can be either inspiring or terrifying depending on whether Ice is a friend or enemy.
Ice generally uses its towering intellect to solve problems, express deep truths, create inventions, or unravel the mysteries of the universe rather than make money or get fame. Fame is of very little interest to Ice. Ice often has a strong creative and artistic streak, loving music, literature, philosophy, and the arts. The Icy person often has a natural and effortless gift at creating pristine, elegant beauty – whether in artwork, abstract systems, or even in the clothes she or he wears.
Yet all of these tremendous strengths do come with weaknesses. Ice is extremely introverted and cautious. If Ice is ever surprised and has no plan at all for the current situation, Ice often freezes up entirely – unable to act. Ice may be adaptable, but improvisation is very difficult. Ice does not like surprises and is often stubborn. Further, Ice is very emotionally withdrawn. While Ice usually has a rich, complex internal world of emotions, Ice is very poor at expressing those emotions to others – and some Icy people may even have difficulty reading the emotions of others. Ice tends to be distant, remote, and very difficult to read - often having a constant poker face or unintentional icy death glare. Even when emotions are expressed, getting the right words out with the right vocal tone is frustrating. This often tends to push away the very people Ice wants most to get close to.
This over-abundance of caution, difficulty improvising, and difficulty expressing emotions are Ice’s three great weaknesses. Yet for anyone who manages to get close enough to Ice to make a real emotional connection, they will find Ice to be very loving, devoted, and absolutely loyal. As a general rule, anyone who earns the love or friendship of Ice will enjoy lifelong, unbreakable commitment and they will get the rare treat of enjoying the warm and compassionate heart at Ice’s core.
Intellectually, Ice seeks understanding and efficiency. Water asks both “why” and “how.” It is holistic and sees everything in the universe as being connected with everything else. Ice is drawn to everything deep, abstract, and complex. It intuitively sees the connections between ideas and between cause and effect. It builds up complex networks of information with each bit connected in its mind with all the other bits that compare and contrast with it. Yet it also has an intense drive to make sense of things. Ice creates order out of chaos, efficiency out of waste, and elegant systems out of aimless wandering. Budgets, long-term plans, engineering, and business management are second nature to Ice. It misses no detail no matter how small and excels at innovation and gradual improvement in general. While everything fascinates Ice, it’s logical, orderly systems that are most interesting. Put together, this makes Ice well-suited for the humanities, sciences, and business – at least in theory. One of Ice’s intellectual weaknesses is its tendency to become lost in its own mind. This can be due to going down rabbit trails on related subjects, getting distracted, or simply getting so absorbed that it never even gets to make the decision in question. The other is making the assumption that all people behave logically. Ice can easily misread a situation by failing to take into account the more emotional and chaotic elements of human nature, often missing subtleties and social cues. However, no element is more intelligent than any other. It is merely a different pattern of thinking. Emotionally, Ice is the most introverted of all the elements or element combinations. Ice has strong feelings and ideals, but has great difficulty expressing them. Due to the fear of an embarrassing emotional outburst, Ice generally suppresses unwelcome emotions like anger, sadness, or fear. Ice may express positive emotions, but even then usually in a controlled way. This can cause negative emotions to build up and churn inside, magnifying them over time. Sadness, fear, and bitterness tend to be especially strong. If not deal with in a healthy way, this can lead either to sudden outbursts releasing days, weeks, or even years of frustration all at once. Ice’s wrath is rare, but terrible - especially if Ice believes the object of its anger deserves it. However, Ice may just internalize their emotions even further, withdrawing into themselves until they begin to view all the world as a hostile, threatening “other.” Sadness, fear, and bitterness are Ice’s negative emotions.
MBTI: INTP is the perfect example – though INTJ and INFJ can work as well. Occasionally, ISTPs may show up as Ice (though they are normally Earth/Air). Review Variety Pack: Singers, Vampires, and Autopsies
When you write reviews, there are some weeks where there’s simply nothing on the schedule that grabs your interest or sparks any ideas that you feel compelled to write down. Then there are the times where you have the opposite problem, and you end up watching more than enough content to fill two or three articles, and you just don’t know what to pick. When this happens, I’m often torn between my desire to cover everything I see to produce more content and talk about as many different things with my readers as physically possible, and the practical limitation of only having so much time each week to properly go into extensive detail of what I’ve seen. Well, on this occasion, I thought I would try something a little different and take a quick look at a couple films and a TV series rather than dedicate an entire article to just one of them. Don’t worry, I’ll be back to the more in-depth format for my reviews soon enough. For now, this approach just allows me to catch up on some of the content I’ve been meaning to talk about, as well as point you all in the direction of a couple of items. There may even be one or two which have flown under the radar for you.
 ‘A Star is Born’
Tumblr media
Okay, so maybe not ALL of these are smaller projects that haven’t received a lot of media attention. But whatever – the deal with this movie is that Bradley Cooper decided to direct the latest in what has apparently been a long line of remakes and adaptations of the 1937 movie A Star is Born. Cooper plays a popular male singer who discovers a young woman with a talent for singing, played by Lady Gaga, who he wants to introduce to the world and drama ensues as they start a relationship and her fame keeps growing. I have no familiarity with the original or any of the other three remakes listed on Wikipedia, so take that for whatever it’s worth when I say I’m glad I saw this film.
The 2018 A Star is Born seems to be made with the knowledge that the audience has likely heard this song before. Even if you’re like me and you haven’t seen any of the four previous versions of this film, the rise-to-stardom story is so well-established that it’s a safe bet that you’ll recognise many of the typical story beats of this kind of film. You see the future star’s humble origins, their soaring debut, their optimism for their bright future, them getting signed on for a record label and a soulless manager character entering the picture, their image having to be changed as they get pushed further into the public eye, someone close to them criticising them because they believe the star has lost their way, one of the characters taking a bad turn as it starts to feel like the star has lost all control of their life, and so on. It’s a story we know, but A Star is Born appears to be conscious of this fact. Towards the end of the film, there’s a conversation where a character reflects on how the same notes are repeated over and over between different songs. The character remarks that it’s in the different ways that people see those notes and interpret them through their music that new experiences are created.
And I think that’s what this film does. The story may be similar to half a dozen other examples, but the execution is what engages. There’s a naturalistic direction to the film that you can see through the way characters talk over each other as they conduct their conversations, or the slight documentary-style to the cinematography, or the minimal use of non-diegetic music which makes the soundtrack seem as if it’s coming from the characters themselves as they sing and play throughout the story. This increases the sense of impact to some of the events within the story because the film is selling you on the impression that what you’re seeing is really happening. On top of that, Lady Gaga’s experience as a professional singer not only enables her to sing well throughout the film, but it also helps her to convey the emotions and thought processes being experienced by her character as she sings. She’s able to deliver a dramatic performance alongside her musical performance, and that’s compelling to watch.
The 2018 version of A Star is Born is not telling a new story, but it manages to tell a familiar narrative in a way that manages to be distinctive and emotionally affecting. If any of the people involved make the film of interest to you, or if the mood takes you and you want to experience a decent version of this sort of rising-star story, then this version of A Star is Born is a decent pick. Now I just have to watch Bohemian Rhapsody and see if the other film about musical celebrities currently out in cinemas does as good a job at hitting its marks.
Final Score: Bronze / Silver
 ‘Castlevania’ Season 2
Tumblr media
Castlevania is one of those franchises that, on first inspection, appears to have a complicated history with dozens of instalments all coming together to form this grand tapestry telling the story of the war between Dracula, destined to reincarnate every 100 years, and the Belmonts, a family of vampire hunters that have dedicated their entire lineage to keeping Dracula and his forces of darkness at bay. And for fans who want to read into it, that expansive timeline is absolutely there, but on a very simple level, every Castlevania game more or less tells the same story. Dracula shows up along with his huge labyrinthine castle, and someone with a whip and a bunch of vampire-hunting equipment rocks up to kick him back into his coffin. Sometimes there are other characters along for the ride to make it slightly more complicated, but that’s the general gist. Also, there’s always some excellent music accompanying the proceedings.
The first season of the Netflix animated series Castlevania adapted the story of the third game in the series. As it was only four 20-minute episodes, the first season is barely longer than a feature-length movie, and just as it finds its purpose and you feel like you’re getting into it, it ends. It wasn’t anything more than a semi-decent series, but I felt like there was potential when I watched it last year. The animation during the scenes where characters are simply talking to one another was stiff and you’d only see characters shift in place after a sentence or two, rather than exhibit more natural, flowing movement from moment-to-moment. But the action scenes were clearly where the animation budget went, as fights were creative and choreographed with a satisfying flair which showcased the animator’s passion for the source material. Performances were suitably brooding and at the right level between genuine human levels of emotion and melodramatic excessiveness, which is fitting for something Gothic and cheesy like this. At times the excessive gore and general revelling in shock-factor violence grated on me, and none of the characters really captured my interest or felt like I could get behind them until the second half of the last episode.
Now Season 2 of Castlevania doesn’t fix all of my issues with the previous season, but I am very happy with some of the progress I’ve seen so far. I haven’t finished the season yet, as I’m six episodes in and have two left before I’m done, but I’ve seen enough to say that the extra time has benefitted the writers, allowing them to take the time to further explore characters and focus on conversations and interactions between the different members of the cast. The result is a more satisfying and complete-feeling season.
Apart from that, my thoughts are more or less the same as the first season. I like their presentation of the series’ established Gothic aesthetic through the impressive backgrounds and character design. I enjoy seeing characters and references from the games and think the showrunners are doing a great job at translating the tone of the games to an ongoing TV series. The excessive gore is a little much at times, and not because I can’t handle it, but because it feels inelegant and unnecessary when they’re already doing such a good job at establishing a Gothic atmosphere. I am enjoying the characters more, even though the attempts at humour feel a little awkward (though I think that’s part of the intentional style of the series, so take that for what it’s worth). All in all, a solid series that has gotten better since last year, but still has several areas in which it could improve. If you enjoy the original games or are a fan of cheesy Gothic fantasy, then give it a watch.
Final Score: Copper / Bronze
 ‘The Autopsy of Jane Doe’
Tumblr media
Watching this 2016 horror movie from André Øvredal, the director of Trollhunter, was how I spent Halloween this year, and it was a night well spent. A father-son pair of coroners are given an unidentified body of a woman that was found on a crime scene and are tasked with finding a cause-of-death by morning so that the local sheriff can give a full statement on the matter. As they proceed with the autopsy, they find more and more things which don’t add up. There are signs of things happening to the body which don’t make scientific sense when you consider the body’s appearance, and to top it off, there’s an uneasy atmosphere around the office as things just don’t feel right. And from there, I’ll keep you in the dark, as one of the most enjoyable elements to watching this film for the first time is trying to work out what’s going on alongside the two main characters as they dig further into this mystery.
The Autopsy of Jane Doe got under my skin because it taps into the uneasiness you often feel when you’re stuck in an office or medical building late at night and you’re one of the only people remaining. It makes effective use of space to create a suffocating feeling to the autopsy room and the one or two other spaces our characters find themselves in as the film goes on. The use of the right-angled corridor to create suspense as you fear what might come around the corner is commendable. Both of the two main actors, Brian Cox as the father and Emile Hirsch as the son, work well in their roles, selling you on their close, familial relationship as well as the fact that they are professional coroners, so they know what to do and how to handle their nerves around a dead body, but they’re also human enough to get a little uneasy when things start looking weird.
As I touched on earlier, I was really drawn in by the set-up to The Autopsy of Jane Doe, fascinated to learn more as conflicting pieces of information are revealed to both the characters and the audience. It’s an exciting sensation that I think is unique to horror; it’s the human urge to find out more even when all signs are telling you that you should stop delving into this unsettling area. You have to know the truth and understand what’s going on, even when it takes you to deadly territory. It’s such a recurring feeling that I experience when watching horror, as well as see in the motivations of the characters within horror narratives, that I consider the horror and mystery genres to be close relatives. The Autopsy of Jane Doe is dripping with that sense of horrific mystery as it centres on an autopsy, a procedure that is done when you want to find out the truth behind something but is also inherently unsettling as you are staring face-to-face at death, in all its detail.
This horror movie has a great premise which is executed with impressive technical ability by its actors, cinematographer, and director (even if it leans on the jump-scare tactic a little too much). For those who like their horror with an air of mystery, then this is a hard recommend.
Final Score: Silver

FOUR ELEMENTS QUIZ

Stole from: @intergalacticstarlight

Simm!Master: ICE
Functions: Introverted Thinking, Extroverted Intuition, Introverted Intuition, extroverted thinking Enneagram Types: 1, 3, 4, 5, 6, and 9 Platonic Solid: Round (Icosahedron) and Cube (Hexahedron) Aristotelian Environment: Cold (either Wet or Dry) Temperament: Phlegmatic/Melancholic, Melancholic/Choleric, or Phlegmatic/Choleric Cardinal Virtue: Wisdom/Caution (Prudentia) and Self-Control (Temperantia) Yin-Yang: Yin Opposite Element: Lightning – While Ice (Water/Earth) is wise, logical, calculating, self-controlled, dignified, calm, and innovative, Lightning (Fire/Air) is brave, willful, lively, free-spirited, dramatic, and visionary. Core Strengths: Ice is calm, imaginative, wise, patient, adaptable, observant, artistic, idealistic, rational, practical, dependable, fair-minded, respectful, honest, loyal, and insightful Possible Weaknesses: When immature, Ice might be depressed, pessimistic, passive, indecisive, self-loathing, overly cautious, unsocial, shy, stubborn, bitter, judgmental, callous, excessively serious, or withdrawn from reality.

John 8:36“If the Son therefore shall make you free, ye shall be free indeed.”
Christ Jesus came to this world pre-ordained by God The Father                          To set the Captives be set free The only way to Our Father God  is by way of the son Christ Jesus. Without Christ Jesus there can be no deliverance daily we are to ask the Lord to deliver us from self and lustful desires of this world amen
Galatians 5:17 For the flesh desires what is contrary to the Spirit, and the Spirit what is contrary to the flesh. They are in conflict with each other, so that you are not to do whatever you want.

*AFFLICTED AND ADDICTED SEVERELY*
This was me 15 YEARS AGO until one morning I woke up with the Bible on my on my bosom opened to Psalms 116 laying flat on my back my arms folded across my bible across my and feet crossed as someone had laid me in that position. (peacefully resting) My entire living room destroyed as if there had been a brawl of several ppl But in fact it of from the struggle of my self and the supernatural unseen entities that manifest this particular night. I was severely afflicted and addicted on the path to self destruction a path that was leading me directly in the mouth of hell had not the Lord answered just in the nick of time. The grip of death had taken hold of me but Lord himself apprehended the Strong man within me removing It. For it had me bound had come to take my life that night all my warnings and chances had ran out expired
*THE ENEMY BECKONING GOD TO REMOVE HEDGE OF PROTECTION*               Mocking my Condition asking God for my life
I was drinking alone util the last drop as usual I found myself standing in front of the bathroom mirror I found myself holding the Bible in my left hand In my right hand I was holding a bottle of VSOP Brandy
That is when the entire atmosphere changed and things shifted instantly It went from these entities mocking and questioning God To remove hedge of protection from me turn me over to a reprobate I leaned in towards the mirror and saw 2 pure black balls eyes They where looking back at me filled with intense hatred
I was very frightened at this point I dropped the bottle and the bible That is when the physical realm around me opened up as portal And the hounds of hell where able to manifest themselves.
*THE SUPERNATURAL MANIFESTED INTO THE NATURAL*
I DID EXPERIENCE THIS AND IT IS HORRIFYING WITH ONLY A LITTLE BREATH DURING THIS DESPERATE SUPERNATURAL STRUGGLE SOMETHING OUT OF A TV MOVIE IT WAS. I WAS AWARE THAT SOMETHING WAS INSIDE OF ME UNTIL THIS NIGHT THIS DEMON WAS VERY ANGRY IT TOOK OVER MY LIMBS COMPLETELY AND MY VOICE
I HAD VERY LITTLE STRENGTH DO ANYTHING I WAS BEING TOSSED ALL AROUND LIKE A RAG DOLL . AS I TRIED TO SCREAM FOR HELP IN MY NATURAL GOD GIVEN VOICE THE VOICE OF THIS DEMOM WOULD SPEAK AND SILENCE ME I COULD FEEL A GRIP A STRONG GRIP AROUND MY THROAT CHOKING THE LIFE OUT OF ME.
I KNEW ENOUGH TO TO CALL ON THE NAME OF AND I DID AND INSTANTLY IN DESPERATION IN COMPLETE FEAR I SCREAMED OUT "JESUS HELP ME" AND INSTANTLY THE ATMOSPHERE CHANGED.
*THE LORD GOD HIMSELF REBUKED SATAN FOR ME* He Rebuked The Devour For My Sake Supernaturally Spiritual Realm, Dimensions, The Supernatural
Last thing I remember was seeing I was on my stomach like a snake moving Still being slung around all over the place multiple things going on at once During all this activity I had been trying to free myself of these entities but I could not up until the point when I called on the Name of Jesus!
A HOST OF BEINGS THAT WHERE NOT OF THIS EARTH I HAD NEVER SEEN PEOPLE THAT LOOK LIKE THIS EVER ( ANGELS ) 2 OF THEM TO BE EXACT Fierce looking body built much stronger than a human body These supernatural beings where at least 10 ft tall or more in statue (Giants) Their color was that of a pale grayish clay pale color with should length hair Why I was allowed to see this and live to tell of it I did not know then but I now know why.
I saw dragging a black figure one on each side and this thing on it's knees Attempting to resist but it could because the had it bound in chains Later on as years went by I began to study on this type of thing and the Holy Spirit revealed to me that this thing had manifest out of another dimension between the 3rd and 4th dimension.
Portals had Opened up doors that had been opened in my life Allowed for this evil spirits to take possession of my physical body Excessive Alcohol Use , Witchcraft that had been sent to me, And the absence of God in my life and Generational Curses.
You see I would have surely died that night after what seemed forever of fighting with these evil spirits for my life from being physically choked and tossed around like weightless rag doll . Tormented manifestations of all sorts until I had given up only thing I knew to do was call on the name of Jesus with all my energy and might !
You see The Lord had enough of me and my wicked filthy drinking My strong hold was not men, not money, not jealousy , not homosexuality Not Whorish ways. But rather the strong that had me bound sucking the life out of me was alcohol and the sprits attached to it low self esteem, no self worth, rejection, depression & witchcraft (please do some research on why alcohol is called "Spirits"
I WILL FOREVER BE IN THE DEBTED TO CHRIST JESUS FOR NOT ALLOWING SATAN TO REMOVE ME FROM MY FAMILY AT THE AGE OF 33 BUT RATHER UNDENIABLY ADDED YEARS TO MY LIFE THIS I KNOW WITHOUT A DROP OF DOUBT.
*WARNING TO THE MOCKERS & UNBELIEVERS* Those Who Mock The Supernatural Power Of God
MANY OF MAY BE LAUGHING RIGHT ABOUT NOW BUT THAT'S ALRIGHT I'M FREE, FREE ENOUGH TO SHARE MY TESTIMONY WITH YOU AND NOT BE ASHAMED OR CARE WHAT MANY WILL THINK INCLUDING RELIGIOUS PEOPLE WHO BELIEVE NOT IN THIS TYPE OF THING YOU SEE WHAT YOU DON'T KNOW IS THAT THE LACK OF KNOWLEDGE TO THIS TYPE OF THING IS SETTING MANY UP FOR FAILURE EVEN DEATH
MANY OF YOU ARE HOST TO THESE ENTITIES AND DON'T EVEN KNOW IT WICKED EVIL SPRITS THAT HAVE BEEN SENT BY GENERATIONAL CURSES, WITCHCRAFT , EXCESSIVE WILLFULLY SINNING JESUS HIMSELF REBUKED SATAN FOR ME INSTANTLY YES HE DID AS I SIT AND WRITE ABOUT IT TEARS FLOW FROM MY EYES STILL TODAY HE WILL DO THE SAME FOR YOU TODAY IF YOU SINCERELY CALL UPON THE NAME OF JESUS.
THE WORD OF GOD SAYS MY PEOPLE PERISH FOR THE LACK OF KNOWLEDGE, ROOT WORD OF KNOWLEDGE IS (KNOW) HOW WILL YOU KNOW IF GOD HIMSELF DOES NOT REVEAL IT TO YOU THE WISDOM OF GOD IS UNLIKE THE WISDOM OF THIS WORLD FOR IT REVEALS REVELATION AND REVELATION REVEALS ALL THING SEEN AND UNSEEN.
PROVERBS 29:18 Where there is no revelation, people cast off restraint; but blessed is the one who heeds wisdom's instruction
HOSEA 4:6 6 My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge: because thou hast rejected knowledge, I will also reject thee, that thou shalt be no priest to me: seeing thou hast forgotten the law of thy God, I will also forget thy children.
*FINAL WARNING BEFORE DESTRUCTION*                few days prior to deliverance
In my sinful state 1 week prior to the night of this horrible manifestation I heard the Voice of authority God speak to me and tell me in a clear voice I'M GOING KILL YOU IF YOU DON'T STOP DOING WHAT YOU ARE DOING "BEING A FILTHY DRUNKARD "
I WAS WARNED BY THIS VOICE IT WAS NOT THE VOICE OF SATAN FOR SATAN WANTED TO SIFT ME LIKE WHEAT AND WAS PREPARED TO FINISH ME OFF WARNING ME NO NEVER SATAN. PLEASE DON'T TRY TO PERSUADE ME THAT GOD WILL NOT SPEAK TO YOU DIRECTLY AND CLEARLY AND TELL YOU YOUR TIME IS ALMOST UP FOR I KNOW ALL TO WELL MYSELF FROM EXPERIENCE.
*DENIAL OF ALCOHOL ADDICTION THAT LEAD TO POSSESSION* Of My Physical & Mental , Mind Control A puppet of satan They Are called The Manipulated Walking Dead
LYING TO MYSELF SAYING I WAS STRESSED AND DEPRESSED EXCUSES OF A BAD MARRIAGE ONE THAT CHRIST DID NOT EXIST IN USING THOSE EXCUSES TO DRINK 24/7 EVERY DAY ALL DAY AND NIGHT     I WAS ALWAYS A PERSON OF DEEP COMPASSION TOWARDS OTHERS.               EVEN THOUGH I WAS A FITHLY DRUNKARD I LOVED CARED FOR PEOPLE
ABOUT 4 WEEKS BEFORE THE ONSET OF ALL THIS ACTIVITY                         I TOOK IN A PERSON WHO HAD AIDS AND HAD NO WHERE TO GO
NO-ONE ELSE WANTED TO CARE FOR THIS PERSON AND SHUNNED THEM MY COMPASSION ALLOWED FOR ME TO REACH OUT TO THEM
I BATHE AND SPOON FED THE PERSON THEIR HEALTH WAS FAILING                SOMEHOW UNAWARE I NURSED THEM BACK TO HEALTH THEY COULD NOT EVEN LIFT A SPOON TO FEED THEIR SELF .
NOW THAT I LOOK BACK ON IT MAYBE THAT PERSON WAS TEST
CAME TO ME  IN THE FORM OF HUMAN BUT WITH TEST YOU SEE I DO LOOK BACK ON IT ALL AND I DO BELIEVE TODAY  IF I HAD REJECTED
THEM MAYBE GOD WOULD HAVE REJECTED ME AND NOT GIVEN ME THAT FINAL WARNING & COMPASSION FOR I COULD NOT HELP MYSELF AT ALL AS THIS PERSON COULD NOT DO FOR THEMSELVES.
WHEN I LOOK BACK I CAN HONESTLY SAY  I BELIEVE BECAUSE OF MY COMPASSION TOWARDS MY FELLOWMAN (HUMANITY)  THE LORD GOD HAD MERCY AND COMPASSION ON ME .
AT THE TIME I DID NOT SEE IT THAT WAY I WAS SIMPLY OVERWHELMED BY THE SUFFERING OF THIS PERSON IT WAS TO MUCH TO BARE I HAD TO DO SOMETHING I DID AND IN RETURN GOD GAVE ME A SUPERNATURAL MIRCLE WITH SUPERNATURAL BEINGS THAT CAME TO MY RESCUE
I DID THIS ACT OF KINDNESS EVEN IN MY SINFUL STATE OF MIND I WAS NOT LOOKING FOR ANY REWARD OR ANY PAY OR RECONNECTION AT ALL THIS WAS MY CHARACTER I ALWAYS WENT OUT OF MY WAY TO HELP THOSE WHO WHERE HURTING .
I NOW REALZE THAT GOD HAD TO PROVE TO SATAN WHAT TYPE OF PERSON IT WAS THAT HE HAD BOUND IN BONDAGE I WAS WONDERING WHY GOD DELIVERED ME INSTANTLY LIKE HE DID BUT NOW I KNOW.           LOVE AND COMPASSION ABOVE ALL THINGS PLEASES GOD  GOD IS LOVE AND LOVE IS GOD AMEN. (do not take love thy neighbor lightly or in vain amen
I WAS BEAUTIFUL ON THE OUTSIDE WELL KEPT IN APPEARANCE ETC... BUT FILTHY AND POSSESSED ON THE INSIDE LIVING WITH DEMONS LORD JESUS JUST TO THINK ABOUT IT I SHAKE MY HEAD IN TEARS IN TEARS OF JOY STILL UNTIL THIS DAY AND THIS WAS 15 YEARS AGO
You see I was messed up inside out tore up from the floor up! See what had taken over me had possessed me completely! Alcohol 24/7 Morning,Noon,Night You see God Spared me from death To 1.Many Times ! DWI headed straight on for 18 wheeler 2.Intoxicated driving the Lord took me away from the city in a direction In an open field In A Brand New vehicle going no where straight to hell !
          * FINAL WARNING BEFORE DESTRUCTION*                    few days prior to deliverance 1 WEEK PRIOR TO THIS HORRIBLE MANIFESTATION AND GREAT DELIVERANCE I had wanted alcohol so bad one night got up out my bed in my pajamas And went to a bar there in Houston Tx Blalock Street to be exact I was only a few minutes from my home not even 2 miles from my home But Upon leaving this place which was on minutes from my home I found myself far far away from my home traveling on a dark country road Seem there had been a loss of time hours woke up In A field not recalling much except that I was safe with no harm to me not one scratch.
In this field where cow, horses, sheep other live stock I plainly remember it like it was yesterday for it is branded in my mind never to be forgotten. You see satan had a plan to make sure I was murdered in the city for he had beckoned God for my life. But the Lord let me drive and drive in a rural area In a pasture of animals is where I ended up the Lord once again intervened and allowed for me to not drive into the dangerous city limits or even be killed in a crash but allowed for me drive on a rural county road.
A road that I had never been on before an unfamiliar area Now that I look back I know that even the Lord God taken me in a entirely new direction that something was about to change. As a spiritual war is fought by spirit also must manifest in the natural Amen. We are not Mortals and not Immortals so this war has to be fought with a balance the natural and supernatural (INTERCESSION)
*FINAL WARNING BEORE DESTRUCTION *             missing time or time unaccounted for
From around 3am-6am I experienced something that till this day I can't explain Missing Time In the pasture In which i have no memory from that point of what happened . I only can tell yo where I was and my surroundings and that I was eventually able to navigate my self back home at the break of dawn.
The area full of sheep and cows in a green pasture Was I afraid? No I was not Was I harmed in anyway ? No I have prayed about this event for years and some answers I have gotten some answers at this time I will not elaborate on it. But in the future if released by God to do so I will open up about it!
Just know that I was sheltered by the hand of God kept safe Prepared for deliverance which was to come 1 week and it did I do believe this night as well that I had a divine visitation One That I can't recall much about only what God wants me to know at this time.
*THE SOVEREIGN WILL OF GOD*       God’s sovereign or decretive will is also called              His “hidden” will It is “sovereign
Something had been done pertaining to my memory I could not remember my name for a briefly couple hours Wondering how I had gotten there in this field puzzled in dismay I started my my vehicle and just began to drive in any direction I came to a gas station I asked them what area was this
My memory began to come back I remembered my name And that I had a husband & family and I needed to get back to them I had never stayed away all night from my daughters (never)
God had warned me but I disobeyed to answer the call and he still was giving me a change to come back to my first love before he allowed for my life to be snatched from me.
This Chapter of my life I have been in prayer about over the years And some revelation has come but for the most I'm grateful For the Lord did make th me to lie down in green pastures  PSALMS 23 Literally applies to my life.
All I have to say about this is that God sometimes spares of from destrucion He will examine the heart of men like only he can if he sees fit to Sometimes Many of us that should have met destruction are still here! By the Sovereign Will of God .
*THE SOVEREIGN WILL OF GOD* God’s sovereign or decretive will is also
His “hidden” will It is “sovereign
God is preeminent in power and authority. God’s sovereignty is a natural consequence of His omniscience, omnipotence, and omnipresence. What’s subject to disagreement is to what extent God applies His sovereignty—specifically, how much control He exerts over the wills of men. When we speak of the sovereignty of God, we mean He rules the universe, but then the debate begins over when and where His control is direct and when it is indirect.
God is described in the Bible as all-powerful and all-knowing (Psalm 147:5), outside of time (Exodus 3:14; Psalm 90:2), and responsible for the creation of everything (Genesis 1:1; John 1:1). These divine traits set the minimum boundary for God’s sovereign control in the universe, which is to say that nothing in the universe occurs without God’s permission. God has the power and knowledge to prevent anything He chooses to prevent, so anything that does happen must, at the very least, be “allowed” by God.

*THE HOUR OF TRUTH HAS COME*
When you are chosen and you defy God                         what are the consequences
I had become a stumbling block for others and standing in the way of my family members receiving salvation So Time was up for me and I knew it I could see the spirit of death that took firm hold of me. To many doors had been opened doors leading to hell and destruction they needed to be closed right away or I would have been in my grave at the age of 33 years of age!
1 week exactly after this particular event with loss of time Is when I experienced the night of Supernatural Deliverance From the most High God still drinking shaken up about not being able to account for a loss of time.
If I would have not remembered my First Love Christ Jesus And called upon him that night I know without a doubt that That I was finished the handwriting was on the wall events that had happened the prior week had shaken me to the core.
Be it Chosen or not when God gets tired of our disobedience It often causes of to live a short life cut off in our prime (premature death) untimely death.
And God does get tired for this he let it rain down fire and Brimstone On Sodom and Gomorrah God has flooded the earth of the wicked and all things saving only a few obedient Noah and his seed. Satan often comes before God as he did with Job asking God to remove The hedge of protection from around Job and God did
For God has examined Job's heart and knew that it was pure As today God is examining mans heart and God himself and only God can see the impurities within a man and the pureness of a man That is one of the reason that some of us are still here Today And the reason that some of us are not here.
*RETURNING BACK TO MY FIRST LOVE*                        IN THE NICK OF TIME
Actually these events put the Fear of God back within my heart and opened my eyes to things that you will not often learn in a Sunday School lesson or Bible study. But yet I know for myself that I had a visitation from the presence of Angelic beings not of this world Am I ashamed to tell it knowing that I may be ridiculed even mocked. No I'am not because I can no longer keep this to myself God has released me to speak on it no matter what man says It was not man that SuperNaturally and Instantly Rebuked the Devour of Satan upon me It was Christ Jesus that Allowed God to move on my behalf Amen I will forever be over grateful and sold out as a servant of the Most High God. ( Thank You Master Glory to you Father)
*THE WISDOM OF GOD REVEALS REVELATION*              Revelation Reveals All Things & Unseen
Getting drunk a drunkard is the equivalent of a Swine is FILTHY LIKE A SWINE WADDLING IN A PIG PEN. EVER SEEN A PIG PEN ? I HAVE AS A CHILD IN THE COUNTRY AND IT IS FILTHY THE PIG JUST ROLLS AROUND IN THE MUD EATING ANYTHING EVEN HIS OWN FECES EVER IN HIS WAY. I REMEMBER THE CARE TAKER SAYING THIS IS WHAT WE FEED THEM IT IS CALLED SLOP IT IS ALL KIND OF LEFT OVER FOODS AND IT SMELLS HORRIBLY.
SLOP IS WHAT THE DRUNKARD ABSORBS INTO THIER BODIES POURING EVERY TYPE OF POSION LIQUOR INTO THEIR SYSTEM SOMETIMES EVEN GETTING ALCOHOL POISONING. GUESS WHAT PIGS DON'T EVEN HAVE PORES SO ALL THAT CRAP THEY EAT STAYS INSIDE UNTIL EXCRETED BUT HUMANS HAVE POURS SO WE ARE ABLE TO SWEAT THE ALCOHOL OFF OR EVEN VOMIT IT BACK UP.
PIGS WILL EVEN LICK UP THIER OWN VOMIT I WAS EQUIVALENT TO A FILTHY PIG GOD SHOWED ME TRYING TO HELP YOU GET A REVELATION YOU BEETER GET THIS! THE WISDOM OF GOD IS UNLIKE THE WISDOM OF THIS WORLD FOR IT REVEALS REVELATION AND REVEALS ALL THING SEEN AND UNSEEN.
*BACK TO THE SUPERNATURAL EXPERIENCE*                after the final warning God said enough
This supernatural event with Angels and set date with death that I did not see for God canceled it out Amen. After seeing these angels apprehending this strong man (Demon) I was put to sleep and rested in Peace woke up with the very Bible I had been holding earlier .
The same Bible I was holding in one hand and a bottle of Alcohol in one hand This Bible ended up on my chest turned to psalms 116 never in my life had I read this particular verse before ever but when I did that morning it did not strike me like it would later for I would full understand what had happened in fullness Amen !
I know that I know that I know with every ounce of understanding within me Christ Jesus Himself Rebuked the devour of satan on my behalf. Not because I deserved it , nor because good needed me, nor because I was special but because I called on the name Jesus in all sincerity when hell and it's hounds had a grip on me a Strong Hold
*A DIVINE APPOINTMENT AT THE ALTER*               Pre-ordained by a Father God himself
The Lord still working on me from the am morning hours until day break I woke up in a peaceful state of mind the Holy Bible was opened to Psalms 116 laying across my chest I removed it and read the scriptures My God I was then guided to by unction of the Holy Spirt to a small church in a county town of Jasper Texas.
I did not exactly know what was going on but I knew there was an urgency for me to get to this church a . ( URGENCY SO I OBEYED) I now know that I myself had been apprehended by the sovereign will of God . And was under the the unction of the Holy Spirt and was moving with an urgency Life or Death depended on it.
Back then I was unaware of this but today I understand that the Lord Most High God was going to complete what he had started in me. I walked in the church walked to the front pew and sat there I remember service was almost over I was right on time for my divine appoint with God at the alter for further deliverance to be completed amen. (Glory to God )
The Apostle of the church called alter call I got up went forward And so did several other people standing there wanting prayer for whatever their need was. I remember the preacher going down the line asking each individual what they needed prayer for when he got to me It began he bent down looked in my eyes shook his head and said church in now dismissed you all may leave I heard him say over he microphone ( if you are here you do not believe in the power of God then you should go
I heard him say to remove all the children from the church and to open the front doors of the Church I grabbed his hand tightly in desperation and said to him if you do not pray for me I'm going to die and I went limp and collapsed to the floor at the Alter. You see for those who don't understand let me clarify it for you God had sent Angels in the morning hours to remove the strong man that had me bound a prisoner in my own body in my own mind.
I don't think you hear God rebuked satan on my behalf yes he did removing the strongest demon from within me . But there was purging that needed to be done and with this purging out came the smaller spirits with no place to go but back to the dry places.
I see now why the Apostle asked for the front door to remain open The revelation of God reveals all things seen and unseen I keep repeating that so that you will catch on and understand what I mean I'm a living witness to the Supernatural and that is real just as real as you or me there are things seen and unseen in this world be not deceived my brothers and sisters.
Tumblr media
Luke 11:24 When an unclean spirit comes out of a man, it passes through arid places seeking rest and does not find it. Then it says, 'I will return to the house I left.'
Matthew 12:44 Then it says, 'I will return to the house I left.' On its arrival, it finds the house vacant, swept clean and put in order.
( THE ANOINTING THE CALL OF AN APOSTLE )                   THE 5 FOLD MINISTRY EVIDENCE                   CASTING OUT UNCLEAN SPIRITS
Apostle Kelvin Hall My beloved spiritual father whom labored and toiled over me transferring the mantle upon my life , exhausted but he never quit obedient to the call of God upon my life.
I'm forever grateful to you man of God concerning my life thank you for being obedient and continuing my deliverance @ the Alter when I collapsed from being used up by Satan surely I would have surely died the following month or days Yes death was all over me ! (God himself rebuked Satan for me) Thank you man of God For keeping the church doors open way longer than usual !
He stayed and he prayed me through rare something you don't see Pastors take the time out to do today. Thank you Lord for you obedient Apostles that do your will Father. Thank you Lord for the True Holy Ghost Fire Thank you Lord for setting me free I was a captive held prisoner I don't think you all hear me.
After 3 hours purging, demonic activity resisting to flee but they had to go because this appoint was pre-ordained before time God knew that I would call upon him in all sincerity So it was God that set a date for my deliverance
My God and he will do the same or you or your loved ones amen When the Lord God has a set Divine Appointed Time concerning your life and circumstances not a demon in hell can can control it not a one Not even legions, Generals, Captains, in satan army GLORY TO GOD AMEN .
AFTER 3 OR SO HOURS I GOT UP OFF THAT FLOOR IN THE NAME OF JESUS AND RAN AROUND THAT CHURCH LIKE I HAD WON THE LOTTERY MY GOD NOBODY HAD TO TELL ME TO RUN
I BROKE OUT LIKE A FRESH WIND MY GOD IF YOU ONLY KNEW THE BURDENS THAT HAD BEEN LIFTED THE PRESSURE THE STRONG HOLD SPIRITS THAT HAD BEEN CAST BACK TO THE DRY PLACES
BE NOT DECEIVED MY BROTHERS AND SISTERS SATAN WALKS T AND FRO IN THIS LAND SEEKING WHOM HE MAY DEVOUR!
YOU BETTER WAKE UP AND START READING THAT SCRIPTURE WITH MORE CLARITY AMEN.
*PEACE OF MIND MADE BRAND NEW physically & supernaturally *
LET ME BLOW YOUR MIND WITH THIS ON MY WAY BACK HOME THAT NIGHT AFTER A LONG DAY BEING SET FREE FEELING VERY STRANGE WEAK AND FATIGUED WHAT AN ORDEAL I NEEDED REST HOLY SPIRIT STILL RESTING HEAVILY UPON ME . I FELT LIKE A LITTLE GIRL WHO HAD NEVER LOST HER INNOCENCE A NEW PERSON MY SPIRITUAL EYES OPEN EVEN MY EYES WHERE VERY SENSITIVE TO LIGHT YOU SEE ON MY WAY BACK HOME TRAVELING 2 HOURS BACK TO MY CITY I PASSED IN AND OUT OF A DEEP TRANSE THIS WENT ON FOR THE ENTIRE RIDE HOME 2 HRS.
I WOULD WAKE THEN I WOULD PASS OUT I COULD FEEL LIKE I WAS BEING WORKED ON IN MY BODY I COULD SMELL THE STENCH OF ALCOHOL BEING RELEASED OUT OF MY PORES AS THEY OPENED AND CLOSED ! REMEMBER THE EXPLANATION OF THE COMPARISON OF A DRUNKARD IS EQUIVALENT TO A SWINE WELL LOOK AT GOD WAS DOING STILL WASN'T DONE WITH ME DETOXIFYING MY BODY A PURIFICATION WAS TAKING PLACE .
*( BEING OPERATED ON BY HEAVENLY HANDS)*             THE SUPERNATURAL INTERNAL HEALING
AS THIS WAS HAPPENING IT MUST HAVE BEEN PAINFUL I SAY IT IN THAT MANNER BECAUSE I PASS OUT FOR 10 MINUTES OR SO THEN I WAKE UP DROWSY LIKE I HAD BEEN UNDER ANESTHESIA THIS HAPPENED ALL THE WAY BACK TO HOUSTON TEXAS
AND INBETWEEN BEING GENTLY BE PUT INTO A TRANS LIKE STATE I COULD HEAR THE MOST BEAUTIFUL MUSIC I HAVE EVER HEARD IN MY MY ENTIRE LIFE MY GOD THE SOUNDS I HEARD SOUNDED LIKE A SYMPHONY OF ANGELS SINGING SO HIGH PITCHED NEVER IN THIS LIFETIME HAVE I HEARD ANYTHING THAT COMES CLOSE OR EVEN COMPARES TO IT
Listen to these sounds the very last pitch on the video and magnify it to the loudest  MHz you can imagine  earthly  glass shattering in the natural it would be multiply it  by many voices. That makes a perfect melody this is what i heard in my left ear only ! After this happened I had the ability to write music and songs. Something that i did not do at all  before I heard this symphony of heaven that’s what I call it because it was just that !
 https://youtu.be/4Tno4L-6vP4
I KNOW NOW TODAY THE VOICES THAT I HEARD WAS NONE OTHER THAN THE HEAVENLY SYMPHONY OF GOD REJOICING REJOICING FOR MY SOUL HAD BEEN SET FREE THIS DAY MY GOD IF YOU ONLY KNEW THAT CHOIRS OF HEAVEN ARE REAL AND THEY SING PRAISES TO THE MOST HIGH GOD AND THEY DO REJOICE WHEN A SOUL HAS BEEN SET FREE FROM CAPTIVITY AND THE OPPRESSION A STRONG HOLD AMEN!
THE LAST THING I REMEMBER I SAID SHALOM IN A SOFT WEAK VOICE A WORD I HAD NOT EVER HEARD OF UNTIL THAT DAY THEN I RESTED PEACEFULLY IT WAS DONE A FEW MONTHS LATER I LOOKED THE WORD UP AS I WAS ONLINE ATTEMPTING TO RESEARCH THESE EVENTS THAT HAD HAPPENED TO ME ONLY TO LOOK THE WORD UP AND TO FIND OUT IT MEANS
(SHALOM, REST AND PEACE )              JESUS CAME TO SET THE CAPTIVES FREE
Shalom (Hebrew: שָׁלוֹם‬ shalom; also spelled as sholom, sholem, sholoim, shulem) is a Hebrew word meaning peace, harmony, wholeness, completeness, prosperity, welfare and tranquility and can be used idiomatically to mean both hello and goodbye.[1][2][3]
As it does in English, it can refer to either peace between two entities (especially between man and God or between two countries), or to the well-being, welfare or safety of an individual or a group of individuals.
MY FAMILY WATCHED OVER ME NOT KNOWING GOD WAS FINISHING WHAT HE STARTED MY DELIVERANCE TRUE DELIVERANCE SOMETHING GOD DID IN 4 HOURS AT THE ALTER SOMETHING AAA MEETINGS COULD HAVE NEVER DONE FOR ME. GOD THANK YOU JESUS IF I COULD ONLY TELL IT ALL HOW WORTHY AND MAGNIFICENT YOU ARE LORD A Strong Man (strong hold ) There is nothing The Blood of Jesus cant't break (Generational Curses The very root of it The Blood of Jesus Will Will Up root Curse it to die and wither up yes he will ! Deliverance is real strongholds are real generational curses are real and they will not be broken until You cry out and call Name of Jesus denounce and follow the instructions of God concerning this it.
*( SINCERITY  AND REPENTANCE TO GOD)*
In Desperation for life and death for real not all this faking and shaking' see that will get you hurt or killed by these dark forces ! Instantly the Lord Rebuked the Witchcraft that had been sent to destroy me In the prime of my life very satanic powers that tried to take me out So I could not be here to tell you this Testimony Today! UPROOTED AND DRUG BACK TO DRY PLACES ! Am I ashamed to tell it NO! I'M NOT! I'm free set free by the Blood of Jesus Play time is over Satan is here to kill anyone he can and will because our disobedience to the call of God
IT NOT ABOUT YOU OR ME IT'S ALL ABOUT GOD People of God It is the Anointing over your life the enemy is after he does not want it to come fourth ! BUT IT'S NOT ABOUT THE ANOINTING HEAR ME WELL IT'S ABOUT OBEDIENCE AND HUMILITY TO GOD
Because he knows you will be a major hitter against his kingdom of darkness he knows that you will be one to be obedient and go where God sends you AND TO WHOM HE SEND YOU . AND YOU WILL DO IT IN OBEDIENCE AND LOVE MOST OF ALL AMEN! BOLD ENOUGH TO CORRECT BUT IN LOVE SET APART AND SOLD OUT FOR CHRIST JESUS AMEN! You will the one as David to take on Goliath in whatever form that serpent comes in you will be ready to slay it A intercessor to do battle in Heavenly HIGH PLACES IN USEEN REALMS AND Dimensions AMEN.
*RETURNING BACK TO MY FIRST LOVE*'              FROM WHENCE  I HAD I STRAYED , FALLEN              FROM REBELLION TO OBEDIENCE
To further Confirm my deliverance and my healing about 2 days after everything had settled down and i was back home shaken up in disbelief somewhat  but I knew i had to remain in a quiet place and think of all that had taken place .
So for 7 days I was weak my bones weak I could not walk without trembling was like a new baby beginning to walk  feeling tired.  It was my appointed time of rest from all the ware and tear that I had put on my body over the years.
Like i said to confirm what had taken place and 5 year old little girl walked up to me and said do you see the Angels they are sewing up your liver they gave you a new one!!!!  At this moment i was speechless and in shock in spite of all I had seen prior to this.                                                                                                    How could a child walk up to me without me saying a word to her and speak these words to me   ( i asked the child who told you that and what do you know about a liver she smiled and said I just know I see it you can’t see them they just finished .
Tumblr media
I trembled with the fear of God since that day a reverence (respect                       I knew I had been made brand new without a doubt in my mind I knew this       I have no desires to drink nor indulge with the wicked nor do I envy the wicked   but rather SOLD OUT FOR CHRIST JESUS
Tumblr media
As A Heavenly Angelic Host Invisible to the Natural Eye go before you You see I got saved at age of 10 experienced the Holy Ghost God marked me for such a time as this Like he had marked many of you And there comes a time when God comes to collect he gets tired of the playing fed up with the filthy lifestyles
And don't you think for one second that God is not a wrathful for destroyed the inhabitants of earth numerous times for DISOBEDIENCE YES HE DID AND HE IS STILL THE SAME GOD AND HE CHANGES NOT MERCY AND GRACE YES BUT GOD JUDGES ALL SIN
EVEN HARDER ON THOSE WHO KNOW RIGHT FROM WRONG THOSE WHO HAVE FALLEN FROM THEIR FIRST LOVE JUST AS SATAN HAS FELL FROM HIS FIRST ESTATE CORRUPTING EARTH GOD BELOVED CREATION HUMANITY YOU AND I THE ONES HE MADE IN HIS OWN IMAGE
But don't think the Lord does not get fed up with us because he does ! Thinking we can go on playing games and playing saved playing with the HolyGhost less you will be turned over to a REPROBATED MIND
No people of God Time to call on Jesus People he can Deliver you for real not this play thing that's going on see many of you are going to church full of demons and going back home full of demons .
All in your home all in your children and their children generation to generation you are traditional and you stand for wrong because God has not truly cleaned you saved but no evidence of the Holy Ghost don't even know what the Holy Ghost is and been in church 30 years .
No respect of Fear or Reverence for the Lord Most High God Just comfortably living with Lucifer walking side by side with you're co -existing with him and most of you are fine with it pray for deliverance so that you can pray for your children and their children and get a prayer through to God for salvation is crucial in this hour souls are important.
Tumblr media
You see this war is for souls did you not know that every man or woman That hears God voice but answers not to the call and rejects God ' That man or woman is in danger for each man hold another man path to salvation within him .
We are either obedient to the call Many are called Chosen are Few or we simply deny the call of God therefore becoming a stumbling block for others around us Those in our paths those that we are suppose to reach but rather we we stand a the door of Hells fire for being the reason that people around us are not getting saved.
You better hear me and understand this is not a game of checkers this is Chess and God is playing for keeps so is satan because he knows his destiny and divine appointment with Hell
It is not about us It is about the KINGDOM OF GOD HEAVEN WHICH IS TO COME ALL ABOUT SAVING MEN SOULS FROM THIS SPIRITUAL WAR THAT WE ARE IN. HOW WILL GOD BE EVER ABLE TO SHOW YOU THINGS IN OTHER DIMENSIONS WHEN HE CAN'T EVEN SHOW YOU YOUR ERROR IN THIS EARTHLY REALM
YES WE ALL FALL SHORT AND DISOBEDIENCE COMES IN BUT WE ARE NOT TO REMAIN IN SIN WADDLING LIKE A PIG IN A PIG PEN FULL OF MUD. Without Deliverance we can't do anything effectively Lord wake us up from this deep slumber and sleep !
FATHER GOD IN JESUS NAME TO THOSE THAT ARE READING THIS AND THE MAY BE LOST RIGHT NOW FATHER MAY NOT KNOW YOU MAY BE ADDICTED TO ALCOHOL OR DRUG ABUSE OR ANY STRONG HOLD THAT HAS A GRIP UPON THEIR LIFE DELIVER THOSE THAT ARE TRULY SEEKING YOU FATHER THOSE THAT CALL ON YOUR NAME INTERVENE LORD YOU REBUKE THE DEVOUR OF ENEMY FOR THEM FATHER THAT THEY MAY BE DELIVERED FROM A STATE OF CONFUSION NO LONGER A MANIPULATED DEAD BUT AWAKE WITHIN THEM FLOWING LIVING WATERS FATHER IN CHRIST JESUS NAME AMEN!
WE ARE NOT IN A WAR AGAINST MEN BUT RATHER  THE EVIL SPIRITS THAT ARE WORKING THROUGH PEOPLE THIS IS MY TESTIMONY HOPE IT HELPED SOMEONE ALL EVENTS I HAVE STATED TO YOU ARE TRUE (TRUE EVENTS ) THERE WHERE WITNESSES TO IN MY HOME WHO SAW THESE THINGS THERE WHERE WITNESSES INT HE CHURCH AS WELL WHY THIS IS THE PATH THAT MY LIFE TOOK I QUESTION NOT ALL I KNOW IS THIS AND I KNOW IT WITHOUT A SHADOW OF A DOUBT
John 8:36 “If the Son therefore shall make you free, ye shall be free indeed.”
SO IT’S OK IF YOU LOOK AT ME DIFFERENT READING THIS BLOG.                  MANY SOULS ARE IN BONDAGE AND CAPTIVITY AND ARE IN NEED TO BE SET FREE AMEN.  JESUS CAME TO SEPARATE WITH A SWORD OF RIGHTEOUSNESS HE DID NOT COME TO BRING TOGETHER BUT RIGHTFULLY DIVIDE AMEN.
Matthew 10:34 King James Version (KJV)34 Think not that I am come to send peace on earth: I came not to send peace, but a sword.

We Need to Stop Calling Women Crazy
Tumblr media
There it was, the C-word. Coming out of my mouth, before I had a chance to stop myself. “I’m so crazy.” I’d dropped an orange from my shopping bag that had rolled under the car, and had slunk down onto my belly and wedged myself into the dirt between the wheels to try and reach it with my fingers. I was late to get my son from school. I was now filthy, greasy. I was, well… what else could I be but “crazy”?
I stopped reaching. I listened to myself. Really listened as I put my forehead down on the cold asphalt under my car. Had I just called myself “crazy” for trying to capture a runaway orange? For feeling frazzled that the day had gotten away from me? For losing control of… my groceries?
A few days went by and I noticed the word came up a lot in my mind, and even as a standard in conversations with a few of my friends. “Oh yeah, the crazy girl.” Or often, “She’s nuts.” Or, “Oh her. She went crazy on me.” (Insert eye roll.)
This word seems to define… almost every woman I know. And suddenly, I’m just not cool with that. And you shouldn’t be either. It’s not funny, it’s misogyny.
Somehow “crazy” seeped into my own self-defining lexicon, which was even more disturbing. But I’m also not alone in that. I’ve heard various female members of my family also self-describe as crazy. Did we just pick this up through cultural osmosis? How is it possible that I’ve been sharing my sense of self with this word for decades and I didn’t even realize it until I lost an orange under my car?
“Crazy” has got to stop.
We live in a culture where any so-called negative emotion in the near vicinity of a woman means she’s nuts. As I watched my week unfold, I noticed I felt “crazy” for trying to finish a work project on deadline while rushing to make dinner for myself and my child. I felt “crazy” for feeling sad while folding the laundry. I felt “crazy” for being awake at midnight, when I should be tired but wasn’t. And yes, I felt “crazy” for expecting the man I was dating to treat my vulnerability with respect.
Truth is, the symbolic annihilation of women’s emotions from the fabric of what’s okay or considered normal in our society is what’s crazy. We have one word that abolishes the feelings, needs, requests and existence of a woman. She’s “crazy.” Now she no longer exists, except as an abstraction of in-elegance. As a sub-standard species, a mere chit on the landscape of normality. Hurry up and flick her away.
It was especially hard realizing that even I, a feminist, side with my own sexist culture, and regularly employ this word against… myself. For having a normal range of human feelings, including rage, pain, ecstasy, fear and excitement.
The other implied feature of being labeled as “crazy” is it means you need to be controlled, or brought under control.
The word, hysterectomy is related to the word hysteria, and there was a time in our culture not so very long ago, when an unhappy woman was quickly labeled as a “hysteric” and locked away for electro-shock therapy treatments in icy institutions. Thousands of women on multiple continents. Cary Grant’s mother. Probably some women from your own family. This was the in-thing to do with difficult women. Label them. Then deal with them. Lock them away. Zelda Fitzgerald died in a fire in one of these facilities.
Now, I’m not addressing personality disorders here. I’m not talking about individuals suffering with bipolar disorder, or borderline personality disorder. I’m not talking about depression. I’m talking about a woman like myself, a single mother who is juggling a lot of responsibilities at work and for her family, an insomniac and yes workaholic, who crawls under her car to collect a stray orange at 3:30pm on a Wednesday, and ends up calling herself “crazy” under her breath.
Many of us have come from families and histories of abuse, but does that give us any right to then eradicate our own right to feel our fullest feelings? No, no, no. If anything we need empathy. (Please see the book and work of Non-Violent Communication by Marshall Rosenberg.)
Sometimes those feelings are large and frightening. Sometimes those feelings are related to hormones, or excess responsibility, or a sense of feeling lost in a world that doesn’t support us because we’re women, and the world is statistically a dangerous place for females to live. Often, those feelings are related to unmet needs. A need for love, for belonging, for peace.
Does that make us “crazy”? Hell no.
I have a few friends (parents) who would prefer to keep their young sons away from dating who have told them, “Stay away from the girls. They’re all crazy.” In what culture is it okay to educate boys that girls are crazy? Or to educate girls that women are crazy? For any reason?
Please remember the danger of this label is that it not only trivializes, but invalidates everything a woman is thinking and/or feeling. Her entire experience now is irrelevant because she’s just “crazy”. All those feelings? She’s “nuts”.
I recall a very important job interview I had a few years ago, where the celebrity (a well known comedian) I had started working for called my reference and asked, “So is Kaia good crazy or bad crazy?” And the person who referred me, also a woman, said, “Don’t worry, she’s good crazy.”
The very idea that all women, ALL WOMEN, can be lumped into 2 categories: good crazy, or bad crazy, is at the very cold, dead heart of the patriarchy. Why? Because it is the ultimate estrangement from life.
And it is not funny. It is not a joke. And it is not something to toss around about women. It is an extremely toxic label that hurts people and needs to stop.
If you haven’t seen a storm lately, or a hurricane, or a winter sea pounding the shore, or a brush fire, please take a look at Mother Nature for a moment. We live on a planet that occasionally spews fire and erases numerous lives with wind and rain and flood. That we feel uncomfortable with these facts is inevitable, because it’s dangerous to be alive. But that we would then diminish the beauty, the glory and the majesty of being alive into a summary that invalidates the essence of another human being is a travesty.
I can tell you for certain, that even as recently as last week, I’ve experienced my entire spiritual existence as a human being questioned because I acted out of emotion. I can pretty much guarantee that if you’re a woman, you’ve been abandoned by at least one person in your life who put this one label on you and used it as an excuse to avoid taking self-responsibility for learning the wisdom of an action which hurt you.
Read that last sentence again.
Women are not crazy. I am not crazy. Neither are you. In fact, having a natural flow of emotions in your body is one of the ways you stay healthy and vibrant and connected to the flow of life that is inside you, for as long as you’re a breathing member of the human race.
Day by day, I’ve begun to collect my feelings, like little adorable lost baby dragons, and put them back into the basket of my body with the appropriate language for them. I’m learning to say instead to myself, I’m feeling “frustrated” or “tired” or “irritated” or “flustered”. I’m not “having a tizzy fit”. Neither am I “losing my marbles” or “going nuts”. And neither are you.
There are whole, complete, gorgeous words for the full spectrum of emotions we feel, even when we experience more than one of them at once. That’s also part of the experience of living in a female body. And it’s glorious.
In fact, anyone who seeks to invalidate your authentic feelings by labeling you as a problem, with any kind of label including “crazy”, is gaslighting you. That’s what gaslighters do. They convince you that you’re crazy, when they’ve done something to legitimately upset you. (This term has entered the cultural narrative by way of the 1944 film Gaslight, starring Ingrid Bergman and Charles Boyer, where Boyer’s character successfully convinces his sane wife that she’s out of her mind.)
And so many of us take the bait; I know I do. There have been numerous times in my life when I found myself apologizing for something I didn’t even do. Or for something I did do, like stand up for myself when I had every right to, and this didn’t go over so well for the egomaniac I was confronting. So we as women often apologize, and internalize, “What if they’re right? Maybe I was too emotional. Too erratic. Too… crazy.”
We must stop calling women “crazy”.
We must stop calling ourselves “crazy” for being women and having and expressing the full range of our feelings in our hearts and spirits and flesh.
We must stop using this word on our female relatives. We must stop using this word for our female friends or women we are dating. “She’s great, but she’s a little crazy.” No, she’s not, thank you.
If you hear this word come out of the mouth of someone you love, referring to another woman, please take one step further forward and ask them to improve their vocabulary and rethink this subtle misogyny.
Women are human beings. Full stop.
We have feelings, needs, desires, challenges and hopes and dreams. The last time I checked, very few of us are out there claiming to be enlightened. In fact, among the women I love and call friends, many of us are out there self-policing our own emotions so that we can be taken more seriously in a world that doesn’t give us the parity in our careers that it gives to men.
Let’s also take a moment to acknowledge how much more frequently our culture refers to women of color as “crazy” than it does to white women. It’s so easy to label a Latina, or a black woman “crazy”. It’s so easy to whip out that term on any woman of color who shows even the slightest disapproval at how she’s being treated. In fact, even worse, I’ve heard the term “bat shit crazy” thrown around for women of color. Excuse me? Bat shit? This is the most racist, bitter, misogynistic slur, and it must stop immediately. THIS IS NOT OKAY.
So, please, let us all as mature adults make this agreement now, together, to stop calling women “crazy”. We must now as women, come together in solidarity for our own parity, and stop calling ourselves “crazy”. We must reject anyone from our lives who uses this word to cage us, control us, diminish us or eradicate the validity of our experience, emotions or existence.
Let’s also stop using the word “crazy” to describe ourselves, internally, or to anyone else.
Have you ever, under your breath, muttered the words, “I’m just crazy”, when facing an uncomfortable feeling or situation?
When I asked some of my female friends under what circumstances they’ve used this word to describe themselves, it seems for most of us, we think of ourselves as crazy multiple times per day. For dropping a cell phone, for falling off the bottom rung of a ladder, for being late to the airport, for forgetting to call back our mothers, for leaving the ice cream out on the counter… the list goes on and on!
The biggest one, of course, is we are crazy for crying. Crying in movies, and at weddings, and in the car, and over coffee, and when we’re pregnant and when we’re ovulating, and when we’re, basically anytime we’re awake and crying, we’re definitely “cray-cray”.
Ladies, you are not crazy.
Full stop.
Women. We are women. We are feeling, breathing, dancing, opening, closing, crying, laughing, feeling it all.
Because the option to feeling is numbing. And if you one day feel so “crazy”, that you choose numbing over feeling, the world will lose you and your gifts along with you. And that is a loss that none of us can afford.
So let’s side with Mother Nature here. Let’s side with sunny days, and days that pour rain. Nights that let us sleep sweet, and nights that torment us with howling winds. We are her children, and we are the full spectrum of experience.
We are human beings, and we are part of the fabric of this world, with all its beauty and complexity.
Please, take the pledge with me.
We need to stop calling women “crazy”.

Glen Coco’s Top 10 Films of 2017
Tumblr media
Unlike last year, 2017 was a stand-out for the film industry. There wasn’t an abundance of undisputed masterpieces per se, but there were still more than enough excellent motion pictures that deserve recognition. As always, it killed me having  to omit so many great films, but that’s just life I guess. You got your ups and you got your downs. Anyway, here are my picks for the ten greatest films of 2017. But first, I’ll list the runners-up and the traditional bonus track. There’s always a bonus track.
Runners-Up
-Blade Runner 2049 ***
-Get Out
-Kong: Skull Island
-Last Flag Flying
-Molly’s Game
-Phantom Thread
-T2: Trainspotting
-Thor: Ragnarok
***Blade Runner 2049 probably would make this list in another life. The thing is, when I saw it, I was very tired and frustrated and I found it hard to focus. Because of this, I missed some important plot details, so the whole time my brain was trying to catch up with the narrative. It never did and I was lost. This is a gorgeous-looking film with excellent performances, direction, cinematography, visual effects and production design. But, I can not, in good conscience, include it without a second viewing. I’m a fucking nerd.
And here are the top 10!
#10b. (Bonus Track) The Lost City of Z
Director: James Gray
Starring: Charlie Hunnam, Robert Pattinson, Sienna Miller, Tom Holland
Tumblr media
For a movie with a dashing lead who takes multiple expeditions into the Amazon rainforest to find a fabled lost city while facing perilous conditions from treacherous landscapes to hostile natives, The Lost City of Z  has been seen by a total of zero people. That’s a shame. This is a movie that reminds us of pulp magazines and classic exploration films of old, promising mystery, intrigue and adventure. The film takes place over several years in the early 1900s and follows Percy Fawcett whose interest in a lost city turns into an obsession and whose multiple trips to find what may not exist threatens his family life and reputation. Directed by James Gray, The Lost City of Z is a refreshing antidote to the modern action film full of CGI and empty noise. The rich cinematography provides a natural and vivid look which amplifies the sense of danger Fawcett and his men must face. And Charlie Hunnam shines as Fawcett, pulling us into his world with his passion and charisma and even when disillusionment threatens these qualities, we remain invested in his struggle to the end.
#10. Mother!
Director: Darren Aronofsky
Starring: Jennifer Lawrence, Javier Bardem, Ed Harris, Michelle Pfeiffer
Tumblr media
Mother! is undeniably polarizing and that’s understandable. Darren Aronofsky’s films aren’t meant for a mass audience and his use of surrealism can be frustrating at times, but it can also be deeply profound and Aronofsky is nothing if not ambitious. Mother! is perhaps his most challenging film but also one of his most mesmerizing. It starts out relatively calm as we see Mother (Jennifer Lawrence) living with Him (Javier Bardem) in a large country home in what seems like a tranquil existence, albeit with eerie undertones. Things get weird when unexpected guests arrive, played by Ed Harris and a deliciously chilly Michelle Pfeiffer. You think you’re in for a standard thriller until Aronofsky takes us down a wildly unexpected path. Never has a movie escalated so quickly and severely. Toward the end, it becomes a beautifully chaotic mixture of bizarre images and themes that blur the lines between reality and fantasy while grappling with topics from religion and death to the burdens of celebrity and motherhood. It’s a tumultuous journey, but if you suspend your disbelief and accept the mayhem, it’s like nothing you’ve ever experienced.
#9. The Florida Project
Director: Sean Baker
Starring: Brooklynn Prince, Bria Vinaite, Willem Dafoe
Tumblr media
Rarely do movies focus their attention on the poor, uneducated and unfortunate souls we’re introduced to in The Florida Project. But writer/director Sean Baker has decided to observe the beauty and excitement in their lives. Brooklyn Prince, in one of the most impressive performances by any child actor, plays Moonee, who, along with her friends, makes the row of motels that line a street in Kissimmee, Florida her playground. It’s fascinating watching what these children get up to, from the innocent to the questionable to the downright illegal. But, Baker never judges; he merely observes the products of a sad reality. He highlights the joy in their lives while never ignoring their present struggles and the troubling future they probably have in store. Bria Vinaite gives an impeccably raw performance as Moonee’s mother, Halley, who drinks, does drugs, recruits Moonee to resell perfume to tourists and is no more mature than her six-year-old daughter. Willem Dafoe is the manager of the motel in which they reside who’s constantly solving everyone’s problems while unconsciously acting as a father figure at times without being unrealistically portrayed as a saint. Dafoe’s great here. But, it’s Moonee who shines at the end in one of the most emotional and heartbreaking scenes of 2017. Sadly, Moonee may not be destined for greatness, but Prince sure is.
#8. Dunkirk
Director: Christopher Nolan
Starring: Fionn Whitehead, Mark Rylance, Kenneth Branagh
Tumblr media
Christopher Nolan is a master of creating spectacles that are as thought-provoking as they are thrilling and Dunkirk is no exception. With the help of Hans Zimmer’s relentless score and many turbulent scenarios, Nolan stresses the utter fear and desperation felt by hundreds of thousands of soldiers evacuating the beach at Dunkirk in 1940 while also highlighting the collective heroism displayed in the process. The film is split into three distinct yet interweaving story lines set on the beach, on the water and in the air, intercut expertly and involving a superb ensemble cast. Nolan’s wise omission of extraneous elements like generals strategizing in war rooms allows the movie to focus on the the event itself, making it a more urgent experience. Even with all the moving parts, we’re guided by Hoyte van Hoytema’s masterful camerawork; what could’ve been a disorienting jumble of images is, in fact, impeccably vivid and coherent, eschewing rapid-fire cuts. But, this is Nolan’s pride and joy and there’s no denying it’s a work of a man so unabashedly dedicated to his craft, one who’s created a breathtaking experience with such a sharp attention to detail that’s at once sweeping and intimate.
#7. The Post
Director: Steven Spielberg
Starring: Meryl Streep, Tom Hanks, every TV actor of the last 5 years
Tumblr media
Calling The Post timely isn’t so much an opinion as it is a truism. The parallels between the deceptive presidencies of Nixon and Trump are so painfully obvious that the film couldn’t be timelier. Back in the Nixon era, the Vietnam War was the source of deception which led to the release of the Pentagon Papers detailing more than 20 years of admissions of the failing American war effort, contradicting previous information. The Post is the story of how some journalists decided to print this information, specifically Washington Post heiress and publisher Katherine Graham, Meryl Streep in an Oscar-worthy performance in which she masterfully and subtlety conveys the weight of responsibility on her shoulders regarding a decision with potentially disastrous consequences. Streep makes her anxiety increasingly palpable until it all comes to a head in a powerfully assertive speech. Tom Hanks is great as Post Editor-in-Chief, Ben Bradlee, who’s fairly aggressive about getting the big story and improving his reputation, though Hanks still lets us admire this gruff character for his fierce dedication to journalistic integrity. Also great are the countless TV actors from Bob Odenkirk to Sarah Paulson to, yes, David Cross. As usual, Spielberg does a workmanlike job on the film and adds that elegant, classic Hollywood sheen to the material. He avoids an abundance of exposition, keeps his focus on the human crisis of conscience and allows the proceedings to flow smoothly. This is a very important story about heroes who risked everything in the name of truth and freedom of the press.
#6. Lady Bird
Director: Greta Gerwig
Starring: Saoirse Ronan, Laurie Metcalf, Tracy Letts
Tumblr media
In her directorial debut film, Lady Bird, Greta Gerwig puts a fresh spin on the high school movie without relying on overly quirky characters, gimmickry or excess. Its breezy naturalism helps it transcend the genre with the stripped-down, straightforward and ordinary nature of the movie, paradoxically, making it so complex. A celebration of autonomy and liberation, Lady Bird follows the titular character (Saoirse Ronan) who feels trapped in a mundane life at an all-girls Catholic school in Sacramento with a mother (Laurie Metcalf) who’s mastered the art of passive aggression. But, Ronan turns Lady Bird’s normalcy into a thing of beauty and makes her an embodiment of perseverance in subtle ways. Metcalf is exceptional here too, often ruthless but always sympathetic as the overworked breadwinner of the family. But most of the praise should go to Gerwig, already a great actress and now directing with a gentle and pure touch, allowing the film to breath with little contrivance. She keeps her scenes brief and adds her unique observations and unorthodox comedic sensibilities to the dialogue which is authentic, witty and often shockingly hilarious. This is a smart and insightful film that’s all but devoid of flaws.
#5. Stronger
Director: David Gordon Green
Starring: Jake Gyllenhaal, Tatiana Maslany, Miranda Richardson
Tumblr media
Once again, Jake Gyllenhaal has been snubbed by the Academy. In Stronger, he gives yet another magnificent performance playing Jeff Bauman, an underachieving Boston native who loses his legs during the Boston Marathon bombing while cheering on his ex-girlfriend, Erin (Tatiana Maslany), at the finish line. The movie recounts his rehabilitation as well as the accompanying emotional turmoil he and his family must endure. Movies like this have been done before but rarely with this much brutal honesty. Gyllenhaal is so convincing, making you feel his every ache and bruise; we’re heart broken just watching the poor man trying to enter his bathtub. He completely transforms in front of our eyes from an overeager and fun-loving young man to a bitter, often angry victim with impressive ease. Maslany is equally impressive, wrestling with a multitude of emotions from compassion to guilt to frustration to anger, often simultaneously, in this refreshing take on the ‘caring loved one’ role. In less competent hands, this would be a conventional TV movie full of cliches and sentiment. But David Gordon Green imbues his work with so much realism whether it’s the injury itself, the recovery process, the reactions from friends and family or Bauman’s mental state. It’s a truly inspirational film and meditation on heroism that actually respects its audience.
#4. Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri
Director: Martin McDonagh
Starring: Frances McDormand, Woody Harrelson, Sam Rockwell
Tumblr media
Not only is Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri timely, but it has one of last year’s most original premises. Enraged by the lack of progress made by the police in identifying the person who raped and murdered her teenage daughter, Mildred Hayes, played by the force of nature that is Frances McDormand, takes action by renting three billboards near her home in Ebbing and posting messages calling out the police for their lack of competence and urgency, especially Chief Willoughby (Woody Harrelson). Obviously, this starts a chaotic chain of events, crafted by writer/director Martin McDonagh, that deals with relevant social issues in a way that’s by turns tragic and shockingly hilarious. But, contrary to the marketing campaign, McDonagh’s film isn’t so black and white; he illustrates the complexity of the matter by exposing fault in all parties involved as well as the tragic consequences of their actions. McDormand shows us an utterly depleted woman with nothing but rage and a mission, making some of the most scathing remarks you’ll hear to anyone in her way, yet still able to sympathize when she sees her adversary in pain, like Willoughby who’s dying of cancer. Harrelson gives an incredibly poignant speech related to this that’s one of the films highlights. Sam Rockwell is also sensational as a racist scumbag of a cop who nonetheless embarks on a path of redemption. The ending is ambiguous. What happens is irrelevant. Whether you think Rockwell deserves redemption is also besides the point. What matters is that there’s a dialogue starting, progress being made and, indeed, something being done. In other words, there’s hope.
#3. The Disaster Artist
Director: James Franco
Starring: Dave Franco, James Franco, Seth Rogan
Tumblr media
Apparently, James Franco might be a bad dude and shame on him if he is. But, I’m here to talk about movies and The Disaster Artist is a damn good one. Most of the credit should go to writers Scott Neustadter and Michael H. Weber, anyway, for crafting an insightful, hilarious, yet oddly touching screenplay about the wildly misguided Tommy Wiseau (James Franco) who was responsible for The Room, one of the worst movies ever made. We’re oriented by Dave Franco playing The Room star, Greg Sestero, from when he meets the awful but ambitious performer, Wiseau, in an acting class in the late ‘90s through the early ‘00s which sees the pair become friends, move to LA to act, fail miserably and decide to make their own movie. Dave Franco charms as the wide-eyed optimist who’s accepting to a fault. James Franco, still maybe an ass, is great as Wiseau, capturing his voice and mannerisms perfectly, giving us a character who’s as delusional and jealous as he is free-spirited, also to a fault. Their relationship is charming in the beginning and no less intriguing when its threatened by one’s pride and the other’s loss of confidence. The story’s at its best when Wiseau is filming his dream project and we see his lack of talent and leadership grate on cast and crew, specifically Seth Rogen as Sandy Schklair, whose exasperation is priceless. But the film makers are wise to tease without deriding and actually give some credit to Wiseau for, when you think about it, the man accomplished more than most of us ever will, illustrated in a film about a film that moves effortlessly from start to finish.
#2. Wind River
Director: Taylor Sheridan
Starring: Jeremy Renner, Elizabeth Olsen
Tumblr media
If there’s any justice in this world, Taylor Sheridan soon will be swimming in awards and money for the man is responsible for the scripts of wonderful films like Sicario, Hell or High Water and now Wind River which he also directed. Few people are better at crafting profoundly entertaining commentaries on the dark and controversial pockets of America. With Wind River, he focuses on problems faced by those living on Indian reservations. The film seems like a recipe for a generic crime thriller starring Hawkeye and the Scarlett Witch until you remember Sheridan’s track record and the fact that Jeremy Renner and Elizabeth Olsen are actually great actors. After we’re shown a chilling prelude involving a teen girl running, and collapsing, in the snow in freezing temperatures without appropriate clothing, U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service agent Cory Lambert (Renner) finds the body and gets the narrative wheels in motion. Once rookie FBI agent Jane Banner (Olsen) arrives, they team up to solve the case that takes them to dark and twisted places. Sheridan let’s the film take its time to develop; it progresses clearly and logically, making it easy to follow along, unlike similar films. And unlike these films, you actually care as much about the people investigating the case as the case itself. Though used sparingly, Sheridan composes some of the most realistic and tense action sequences you’ll see. There’s one scene that’s almost unbearably intense but so utterly effective in making you feel the horror this community feels. It, like this film, gets under your skin and stays with you well after the credits roll.
#1. Call Me by Your Name
Director: Luca Guadagnino
Starring: Timothee Chalamet, Armie Hammer, Michael Stuhlbarg
Tumblr media
If you consider just how many love stories have been written in the history of humanity, you might think it impossible to create another great one. But what director Luca Guadagnino does with a script from James Ivory is pure bliss. Not only will you fall in love with the characters, but you’ll also fall in love with the gorgeous, picturesque northern Italian countryside on display. It’s here, during a lazy summer of 1983, where an introverted, music-loving Italian-American teen, Elio (Timothee Chalamet), meets an older, classically handsome and outgoing graduate student named Oliver (Armie Hammer), forming a relationship that will change their lives forever. Elio’s father (Michael Stuhlbarg), an archaeology professor, invites Oliver to live with them for the summer to help with his research and although Elio initially is turned off by this ‘intruder’, gradually he forms an attraction. How the film makers deal with this attraction and eventual relationship is simply perfection. The way in which the two characters subtly feel each other out at the start feels so true to life and each subsequent step from attraction to bonding to seduction is equally realistic and even more entertaining. The film benefits from the actors’ fearless performances, especially that of newcomer Chalamet who’s a ball of pent up sexual energy. The movie ends with Stuhlbarg having an irresistibly touching discussion with his son, full of warmth and understanding, and a final heartbreaking scene, so simple in concept yet so emotionally complex. Chalamet takes your breath away here with an array of emotions parading across his face as Sufjan Stevens’ gorgeous ‘Mystery of Love’ plays in its entirety. It’s one of the the most entrancing endings to a movie you’ll see, capping off the best film of 2017.
