I am a simple fool who tries to live without expectations, but there is ONE (1) thing I would love to see in S5:
We all know 9-1-1 loves to parallel themes amongst the characters/couples on the show, so what if in at least 5A they focused on shared traumas and dealing with the fallout of those shared traumas.
Stay with me here—
1. Bobby & Athena: despite the fact that they reconciled during the finale, their issues did not go *poof* and everything is fine. They will need to work through the sticky spots that strain their marriage, and what if they did therapy TOGETHER?
2. Maddie & Chimney: Maddie's PPD will be addressed in the next season (I am NOT emotionally or spiritually prepared to handle it, btw) and this is a significant shared trauma bw the two of them as parents in a new family, which will inevitably strain this relationship, and like what if THEY did therapy TOGETHER??
3. Ah, yes, Buck & Eddie: they went through the fucking mother of all shared traumas, and this just can't NOT be addressed in the next season. It's a potential strain maybe not on their personal partnership with Christopher, but definitely on their partnership at work, and WHAT IF THEY WENT TO THERAPY TOGETHER???
I'm just saying a montage of all three couples doing therapy would be such a SERVE and also the beauty of processing shared trauma and becoming stronger through it? *chef's kiss*
