I’m really disappointed that we didn’t get any emotional beats this episode.
Hunter struggling with the fact that Omega is grown enough to make her own decisions about her life? That’s clearly an arc for him. How does this manifest? Is he angry? Is he devastated? Show me!
Crosshair feeling terrified and uncertain that, without Omega there—based on a plan that he co-signed and that he then fucked up—his brothers won’t trust him again and that his place is uncertain and that maybe he isn’t redeemable? Show me!
Wrecker trying to patch the hole in his own heart that his family is separated again while Hunter and Crosshair are probably withdrawn and sniping at each other and he has to be the glue that keeps his team moving forward again? S H O W M E E E E !

is it too much of a reach to say that zelda being reduced to basically an object to farm items from in totk just kinda adds more salt to the wound of how badly shes treated?

If I may prompt: I would like to hear your Aang Is Not The Hero rant, if you'd like to share (I have my own thoughts along similar lines, but I'm curious about your take).
It's something I've talked about before, but I don't think Aang adds that much to the story. He is the titular "Last Airbender", but his major contributions are either being a conduit for more powerful beings (La, the lionturtle, the Avatar State, which he doesn't have control over even into the post series comics), or he facilitates getting the Gaang from one place to another. He's the reason that the plot is happening, but he's not an active participant. He barely acknowledges that a war is happening, let alone takes it on himself to figure out how to end it.
To call Aang the "Real Hero™️©️®️" feels laughable when his accomplishments are stacked up against his friends. His fight with Ozai isn't even the emotional linchpin of the series. We all know that honor goes to the Agni Kai, but even confrontation between Ozai and Zuko had more weight. Heck, even the scenes with Sokka, Toph and Suki had higher stakes and emotional importance. Sure, Aang grabbing Ozai by the chin leech was funny, but Sokka clinging to Toph as she dangles in mid-air is a heart stopping moment.
Beyond that, no one's relationship with Aang matters that much. He isn't a particularly good friend to any of them, and he receives far, far more than he gives in terms of development moments (and he still manages to hardly grow at all). His most major contribution to anyone else's growth ends up with him completely misunderstanding Katara. By comparison, Katara is a much more integral character. She is the one holding the Gaang together. Her conflicts with her friends contribute to growth moments with all of them. Even Toph, as criminally underdeveloped as she is, has moments with Katara that lead to them both growing as characters.
If we want to name a true protagonist for the story, or the "Real Hero™️©️®️" , it's Katara. Katara is the true hero of the story. Without her, the plot falls apart. Aang is the inciting incident for Katara's story to move forward. Essentially, Aang is a McGuffin. He could be replaced by a magic wand and reliable transportation and very little about the story would have to change.

also if kilgharrah eally wanted to be free then why did he wait for the stupid yet ridiculously powerful boy from the countryside to appear instead of the intelligent and already politically adept seer who is just upstairs suffering the same fate as him??
like kilgharrah has nothing to be afraid of morgana right? it's not like she could control him.
kilgharrah and morgana were both trapped in that damn castle and became victims of their own minds and prophecies. They could've helped each other.

I keep waiting for the catch for us using Nezarec to revive Osiris to show up. You don’t introduce a god of death’s butchered remains just to make tea with no side effects or repercussions, right?

man, Last Heir To Blackwood Library is good in many ways, but its protagonist has gotten hit with the Idiot Stick way earlier and more thoroughly than she should have
like
yeah okay she's being fed upon by a sentient library and she's becoming weak and forgetful, but it seems inconsistent how Herself/Aware she is at any given time. she forgets things but it isn't making her any less intelligent or strong-minded as far as I can tell
they'd better reveal that Arthur has mind control powers later on, because otherwise I can't fathom how Ivy as established at the beginning of the book- and as she continues to seem despite losing time and developing amnesia -would agree to marry his obviously evil ass like a week after meeting him, when they've spent a total of ~6 hours together max
loneliness wouldn't make one THAT desperate in such a short time, not when one has been repeatedly described as "not interested in marrying" by the narration. so I have to conclude that she's either being possessed or she's not very bright
And like don't get me wrong- I'm SO HERE for bad decision queens as protagonists. see also: my favorite movie and Edith "want to climb that clearly questionable baronet like a tree" Cushing. it's just that her bad decisions don't gel with what we see of her character before she starts making them
(I'm hoping the deal with the anchoress and the monk is going to be "there is no monk; the anchoress was perverted into a mad monk over years of telephone games and The PatriarchyTM, and she and Ivy will work together something something triumph of Women What Read Books over men who want to control them" but I'm not optimistic at this point)

With all due respect I need people to stop trying to make Jolyne into a failwoman. She is literally so tough and baddass and one of the most competent characters in JoJo. I understand that she got caught flicking the bean and has daddy issues and pissed herself in zero gravity and got jealous of snails for their insatiable sex drive but. Okay yes I see point now actually.

I can't believe it took me so long to realize this.
There's an episode of Phineas and Ferb where Candace's special doll is accidentally sold to Doofenshmirtz in a yard sale. Doofenshmirtz then gives it to Vanessa, letting her know that he's been looking for the doll ever since she asked for it when she was little. Vanessa actually appreciates it, and puts it on a shelf... only for it to fall next to a charity bin that her mom puts it in and immediately donates when she's not looking. Vanessa then goes looking for it, basically competing to get it back before Candace does with the help of her brothers.
The thing I didn't realize, was the fantastic name the doll had.
Mary McGuffin.
For those who don't know, "McGuffin" is a reference to the MacGuffin trope. Basically, a MacGuffin is an important object that drives the plot solely by being sought out by the characters in the story.
And that's exactly what the the Mary McGuffin doll is. Vanessa and Candace want the doll, and the doll's only purpose in the plot is to be sought out by them.
I love this show so much.
