This fic was created for BNHA's Monster Ball (2020) --- A quiet ahem sound comes from the edible cranium substitute held in his hands. “Hello,” the horseman's voice is softer and deeper than he'd been expecting. Then again Izuku hadn't been expecting a pumpkin to talk. He peers down at the unimpressed carving staring up at him. “Um, h-hello. Are you okay?” “I think so. Would you mind returning me to my body?” the jack-o-lantern asks. A few feet away the horseman's body shuffles about on hands and knees, patting the ground and looking quite pitiful. Izuku reddens. “Sorry!” A horse neighs in the distance. -- Izuku doesn't know what he's doing in life. (Or death.) But that's okay when you have a headless companion who doesn't know what he's doing either. So what if his new friend's horse sounds like the screams of a thousand wailing souls condemned to hell? Izuku's not one to judge a person by their mode of transportation. Or their strangely glowing pumpkin head.
