The Misadventurer and the Fox

Jin is a poor day laborer living in a rural village until, one day, his best friend dies in an accident, the villagers blame him and has to flee. He hides in a deserted temple which is said to be haunted, eventually deciding to stay there. He arranges himself with the spirits residing in the temple, but can't find peace because of his regrets. One summer day, a young, charming named Atsuhiro comes around and invites Jin to do a game of Hyakumonogatari Kaidankai. They tell each other 100 ghost stories over a course of 10 days, but Atsuhiro interrupts their game before they can tell the last story. Instead, they decide to live together, and Jin thinks he found his happy ever after…
